"Nala I heard you got into trouble with Simba in the elephant graveyard" Sarafina scolded
"I-i thought it was going to be fun" Nala stuttered
"Nala I told you that going beyond the pridelands is dangerous! You already knew you were getting yourself into trouble!" Sarafina snapped
"I-I'm sorry I promise that I won't do it again" Nala sobbed
"Nala from now on you're not going outside for 3 days understand?" Sarafina snapped
"What? That's just ridiculous!" Nala growled
"Look she is so upset that she will be separated from her boyfriend for three days" Mheetu teased
"Oh just shut up Mheetu!" Nala growled
"Nala you knew you were getting yourself into trouble, you had the power to even stop Simba from going into that dreadful place but you just joined him" Sarafina scolded
"Fine, I'm not going outside for three days I'm sorry" Nala apologized
"And Mheetu I heard that you joined the newly formed Lion Guard is that correct?" Sarafina asked
"Yes?" Mheetu replied
"That would be way too dangerous! Tell Malka that you're going to leave the lion guard for good" Sarafina scolded
"What? Oh, come on Mom! This is my chance to be something bigger!" Mheetu argued
"This is for your own good, being in the Lion Guard is way too dangerous!" Sarafina concluded
"And what should I do? My friends are having fun and I won't?!" Mheetu snapped
"This is not about fun Mheetu, it's about safety" Sarafina replied
"Oh come on mom! What's the big deal?!" Mheetu asked
"Mheetu I didn't want to lose my mate, let alone my son!" Sarafina scolded
Nala and Mheetu sat there, in silence, what their mother just said... was it true? Their father had passed before they were born due to some accident, was this the reason why?
"R-really?" Mheetu asked
"Your father was the fastest in the guard, I never knew what could go wrong so I just let him be but the next thing I knew is that he died after an accident" Sarafina explained
"But I will be more careful! Malka is a good leader I trust him" Mheetu insisted
"I've lost your father to the guard, I am not losing you as well" Sarafina's words were cold, so full of pain, so full of resentment
"Mom... I think if dad is still alive, he would let me join the guard. I think it would make him proud... just... think about it, me being a lion guard member just like him would probably make him proud, so please... let me join" Mheetu begged
"And I want to make him proud! Even tho I never met him.." Mheetu added
Sarafina was left speechless after all he was right if their father was still here he would have let Mheetu join the guard.
"Mheetu... Just be careful ok?" Sarafina sighed
"Don't worry mom I will" Mheetu replied
"The new Lion Guard" Rafiki happily announced while painting
"It shall start a new Journey indeed, especially for Malka!" Rafiki cheered
"It is time!" Rafiki exclaimed
The next day
"You look funny today Mheetu, had trouble getting sleep?" Haraka asked
"Eh not really" Mheetu lied
"Hello, guys!" Malka greeted
"Hey Malka, so what are we going to do now?" Gumu asked
"I heard the Lion Guard was supposed to do patrols, so we will do just that" Malka replied
"Hello there Malka" Scar showed up
"Uh... Hello uncle Scar" Malka greeted
"I heard that you are going to be my successor as the new leader of the lion guard," Scar said
"Yeah, I am!" Malka replied
"And I'm happy for you! My favorite nephew is going to take my place I couldn't be any happier!" Scar lied
"Thanks, uncle Scar" Malka replied
"Also Malka if you have any problems I can be your advisor" Scar suggested
"Really? You will?" Malka asked
"Yes Malka I will help you in your duties" Scar insisted
"Sure!" Malka agreed
"Well I guess I better go, And remember Malka just tell me if you have some problems," Scar said before leaving
"Malka I don't know about you but he is kinda weird.." Mheetu whispered
"Dude! he is my uncle!" Malka replied
"I know but maybe you should not take him seriously? His Lion Guard died because of an accident" Mheetu whispered
"Maybe.. I'll keep that in mind" Malka replied
"Malka just in time! The hyenas are in the pridelands hunting a herd of gazelles!" Juu exclaimed
"Well, we better go!" Malka exclaimed
"Till the pridelands end"
"Lion Guard Defend"
"Hurry up before anyone sees us!" Shenzi exclaimed
"And also I'm starving!" Banzai complained
Ed responded with a laugh
"Hyenas!" Malka snapped
"Oh hello there, we were just you know playing around" Shenzi lied
"Wait we were? I thought we were hunting!" Banzai protested
"You three better leave now or else" Malka threatened
"Oh no not that roar... Alright, guys we better leave now!" Shenzi said before running
"Lion Guard calm the herd, I'll take care of these guys" Malka commanded before chasing the hyenas
"Man, that cub sure hates fun!" Banzai complained
Ed responded with a laugh
The hyenas finally got out of the pride lands after going through a log bridge
"That's right run away and don't come back!" Malka threatened
Suddenly the log bridge broke with Malka in it leading him to fall into the river
"That's right easy there, you're all ok now" Gumu comforted the herd
"Yeah Malka chased those hyenas back in the outlands," Mheetu said
"And he should be back by now, I better go check on him," Juu said
Juu spotted Malka almost drowning in the river hanging on a log
"Oh no" Juu whispered
"Everyone Malka's in trouble!" Juu exclaimed and the guard followed her
"Malka! Should I swim?" Mheetu asked
"No don't! The water's too rough!" Malka warned
"Just hang in there Malka!" Juu said
"Malka look out! Rocks! Straight ahead!" Juu exclaimed
"Woah!" Malka whimpered
Malka tried to avoid the rocks but they broke the log that he is hanging on so he had to swim and got to the other side.
"Malka are you alright?!" Mheetu asked
"A little wet" Malka coughed "But I'm ok"
"But Malka look you're in the outlands now," Juu said
"I can see that and it looks like I could take the trail upriver" Malka replied
"Don't worry I'll be fine besides I don't have much of a choice I can't cross the river here the water's too rough" Malka added
"Lion Guard! Meet me in flat ridge rock I can cross the river there!" Malka yelled
"What did he say?" Gumu asked
"Flat ridge rock? Where exactly is that?" Haraka asked
"Yeah, I know exactly where that is! Follow me!" Mheetu insisted
"Thanks, Mheetu!" Malka said
"Make sure that he actually knows the way to flat ridge rock" Malka whispered
"Affirmative, hey wait up!" Juu said following the others
The rest of the guard did what Malka told them to do with Mheetu leading them
"Hurry up! We don't want Malka waiting in flat ridge rock wondering where we are" Mheetu said
"And we are he- Oh," Mheetu said in a disappointed tone after realizing they went in the wrong way
"What's wrong Mheetu?" Gumu asked
"Uhh nothing" Mheetu lied
"Mheetu are you absolutely sure that you know where we are going?" Haraka asked
"Pff of course I know! It's this way" Mheetu pointed right
"No no... It's this way!" Mheetu pointed left
"Going somewhere?" A spider asked
"Ahh!" Mheetu yelled
"Mheetu are you ok?" Juu asked
"Yeah, and it has to be this way!" Mheetu lied
"Well it has to be one of these ways" Mheetu wondered after seeing three different paths to take
"Too bad Malka is not here to lead us" Gumu complained
"Do you even know where we are?" Haraka asked
"Yeah... Uhh, we're lost!" Mheetu stuttered
"Mheetu!" Everyone hissed
"Errghh this place is creepy" Malka whispered after seeing a lot of bones
"Wh-who's there?" Malka stammered after hearing rocks falling out of nowhere
"Hey, you!" A lioness cub growled
"You're in my territory!" The lioness cub hissed
"I-I'm sorry... I'm just passing through" Malka apologized
"The name's Tama why are you doing here? Malka leader of the lion guard" Tama asked
"Y-you know me?" Malka stuttered
"Just by reputation the mark on your shoulder's a give away tho" Tama chuckled
"So you're a Lion living in the outlands?" Malka asked in confusion
"Are you for real? A lot of lions are in the outlands because we "disobeyed" the king" Tama replied
"Then you guys must have done something wrong to be exiled!" Malka hissed
"For what? And what are you doing here anyway? not exactly your territory" Tama asked
"I'm going to flat ridge rock so I can go back in the pridelands if that's ok with you" Malka replied
"If you're going to flat ridge rock then you're going in the wrong way" Tama chuckled
"Uh-huh... And I should trust you because?" Malka asked
"Because I want you out of my territory" Tama replied
"Good I do want to go out of your territory," Malka said before leaving
"Then you're going the wrong way!" Tama replied following him
"Thanks for getting us out of the woods Juu," Gumu said
"No problem but we still don't know which way to go I have never been into flat ridge rock" Juu replied
"Neither am I," Gumu said
"Me neither" Haraka added
"Then it's probably out here somewhere," Mheetu said
"All I see are grass trees and Zebras!" Haraka complained
"Maybe we should ask that guy for directions" Gumu suggested
"Hello Lion Guard I overheard that you guys need some directions" A zebra showed up
"Do you know where flat ridge rock is?" Mheetu asked
"Oh Flat Ridge Rock... Is that near Ukuni Woods or Big Springs?" The Zebra asked
"We don't know where it is that's why we're asking you" Haraka replied
"I see... that's too bad I'm not sure where it is, Now where was I going?" The zebra asked
"Uhh maybe back to your herd?" Gumu replied
"Oh yes of course! Thank you" The zebra said before leaving
"Zebras... They never know where they're going" Juu said
"We can ask Njia the Rhino he knows the pridelands like the back of his horn!" Gumu suggested
"Great any idea where we can find him?" Haraka asked
"This time of the day he usually hangs out in the watering hole" Gumu replied
"Yeah, the watering hole here we come!" Mheetu cheered trying to lead the way
"Where do you think you're going? Juu can you lead the way this time?" Haraka requested blocking Mheetu on his way
"Affirmative! Follow me" Juu agreed
"Still following me?" Malka asked after seeing that Tama is still following him
"you're still ignoring my advice" Tama replied
"About going the wrong way? I'm pretty sure I'm heading towards flat ridge rock!" Malka snapped
"Maybe so but you can't get there in this trail" Tama grinned
"Oh yeah why's that?" Malka asked
"Because the trail ends here" Tama laughed after seeing the leader of the lion guard fell into a thorn bush
"How long can it possibly take just to ask for directions to flat ridge rock? They've been talking forever" Haraka complained
"Gumu does like to talk" Mheetu replied
"Yes perhaps I better go talk to him," Juu said
"Back in my days I used to fight these deadly beasts it was hard" Njia recalled
"Wh-what happened to you?" Gumu asked
"I died" Njia concluded
"R-really?" Gumu asked
"But then I lived!" Njia continued
"Woah" Gumu replied
"Sorry to interrupt but Gumu we have to meet Malka in flat ridge rock remember?" Juu interrupted
"Oh yeah, I guess I better be going, see you later Njia!" Gumu said
"See you later Gumu, Remember when you see those beasts ask me!" Njia replied
"So what did he say?" Haraka asked
"You won't believe it, He used to fight these deadly beasts, and then he died..." Gumu recalled
"Really?" Mheetu asked
"But then he lived!" Gumu replied
"Woah... That's cool" Mheetu said
"Are you guys serious? Tell me Gumu what did he say about directions?" Haraka asked
"Are you sure Haraka? You don't want to meet those beasts!" Gumu warned
"No not directions for that fake story, Directions to getting to flat ridge rock!" Haraka hissed
"Oh... I forgot to ask be right back!" Gumu exclaimed
"Oh, this is going to be a long day.." Haraka complained
"Hold still this won't hurt at all" Tama insisted before taking the branches off
"Uhh, what are you doing?" Malka asked
"Getting you out of this Thorn Bush" Tama replied "Just hold still"
"What? Why would you help me? I thought you hated pridelanders!" Malka asked
"I wanted you out of my territory remember?" Tama replied
"Oh... " Malka said
"Things would certainly be a lot better if Malka is leading us" Juu complained
"Man I hate these flies, stop flying around me!" Mheetu growled
"Gumu are you absolutely sure that this is the way to flat ridge rock?" Haraka asked
"Yeah and he also said that he has never been there" Gumu reminded
"Everyone! There's a ridge up ahead with a flat rock on top of it, it has to be flat ridge rock!" Juu exclaimed
"Oh yeah, Malka here we come!" Mheetu cheered
"Race ya" Haraka ran away
"Hey, no fair!" Mheetu complained
"Thanks, I guess" Malka spat
"You guess?" Tama growled
"Yeah you could have told me the trail ended before I went over the hill" Malka complained
"Even if I said so, you wouldn't even trust me" Tama replied
"Ok fine, Now I'm lost can you tell me how to get to flat ridge rock?" Malka asked
"Take that trail it'll get you to flat ridge rock and back to your beloved pridelands" Tama chuckled
"Thanks.." Malka replied
"You're limping.." Tama said with a worried tone
"I'm fine just a little sore from the fall I can handle it" Malka replied
"You know it's kinda my fault that you're hurt... So I'll stick with you until you can see flat ridge rock" Tama suggested
"Okay... I mean if you want to" Malka replied
"If I want to?" Tama chuckled "I want you out of my territory"
"Yeah well me too" Malka replied
"Haraka.." Everyone panted
"Hi, guys what took you so long? I even had time to clean up" Haraka teased
"You know... Not everyone can outrun a cheetah" Mheetu panted
"So this is flat ridge rock?" Gumu asked
"Well it's a rock and it's pretty flat" Haraka replied
"And it's on a ridge" Juu added
"Oh yeah, I know this place! I have been here hundreds of times!" Mheetu bragged "You know there's a great shortcut we could have used"
"Mheetu!" Everyone hissed
"What?"
"So how long have you been here in the outlands?" Malka asked
"Ever since I was born" Tama replied
"Really? Who are your parents?" Malka asked
Tama was about to answer but she remembered a lot of terrible memories
"I have no parents... I live alone" Tama lied
"Really?" Malka asked and actually felt bad for the outsider
"Yeah what do you think? Do I have someone with me?" Tama asked
"I guess not" Malka replied
"So how about you? What is it like being the leader of the lion guard?" Tama asked
"It's fine It's just my first day today.." Malka replied
"Stay there!" Tama commanded
"Wh-"
"We are in hyena territory and believe it or not you don't wanna mess with them so we better be quiet" Tama explained
"Sure" Malka whispered
"Don't worry flat ridge rock is over there, you're almost home" Tama replied
"Asante Tama, thanks for your help" Malka whispered
"Sure, bye Malka" Tama replied
"Hey, Tama if you ever need my help-"
"Help? From a pridelander? That's a good one!" Tama laughed
"Okay," Malka said and left
"Well I better not encounter more pridelanders asking for ways" Tama whispered
"Well well look who's here" Shenzi grinned with Banzai and Ed behind her "Tama we told you to stay out of our territory!"
"Just passing through so move" Tama replied
More hyenas showed up laughing
"Well looks like we have ourselves a meal" Shenzi announced
"Well I guess I'll just take another path" Tama replied however the hyenas already blocked the way
"So you figured out that only three of you didn't stand a chance against me" Tama teased
"Well let's remind Tama what happens to someone who wonders into our part of the outlands" Shenzi commanded
"Are these all the hyenas you got Shenzi?" Tama asked
"Tama?!" Malka said in a worried tone after hearing that the hyenas might harm her
"I'll go first!" Banzai attacked
However, Tama saw it coming and kicked him knocking him into a wall
"So who's next?" Tama teased
"Boo!" Tama hissed
"Ahh, Scary!!" Ed yelled
"Enough playing around!" Shenzi hissed
"Hey looks like I'm missing out on a good fight!" Malka showed up
"Malka? What are you doing here?" Tama asked
"I'm here to help" Malka replied
"If you say so but I got them right where I wanted" Tama chuckled before throwing a bone into a hyena knocking him off
"Yeah I can tell" Malka replied
The two fought the hyenas pretty well however it wasn't enough
"Oh looks like we're cornered" Malka whispered
"Got you now" Shenzi laughed
"Tama get behind me" Malka commanded
"What? Why?" Tama asked
"Just trust me" Malka insisted
"Fine, I can't believe I'm trusting a pridelander" Tama replied
"Don't know why you're in the outlands helping an outsider Malka, but it's going to be the last thing you're going to do" Shenzi threatened "Get 'em!"
Malka unleashed the roar of the elders once again sending the hyenas flying Tama was shocked after witnessing the roar of the elders in her own eyes.
"Wait is that the roar? Malka is in trouble!" Mheetu exclaimed
"Oh I hate that roar" Banzai complained
"We better leave now!" Shenzi said before running
"Look at them go!" Tama laughed "That's the funniest thing I've ever seen!"
"Ok that roar thing was actually cool" Tama added
"I've seen you in action, you don't need a roar" Malka replied
"You know I never thought a pridelander would help me," Tama said
"You know Tama maybe-"
"He is over here!" Juu exclaimed
"Back off outsider!" Mheetu growled
"Woah Woah, Take it easy she's a friend," Malka said
"She is?" Mheetu asked
"I am?" Tama asked
"Definitely" Malka replied
"But she is an outsider" Mheetu whispered
"I know but she is good, and she helped me" Malka replied
"Really?" Mheetu asked
"Yeah she got me out of the outlands, and I helped her against the hyenas" Malka insisted "You guys should have seen her take on Banzai and Ed she looks fierce"
"I like her already," Haraka said
"Uhh, Malka what do you mean by this?" Tama asked
"Oh yeah Tama, Maybe I should take you in the pridelands my dad will probably let you in" Malka insisted
"Are you serious? Yeah no thanks I better go" Tama replied
"Tama please just give it a chance, I don't think someone like you should live alone in this place" Malka begged
"Y-you want me to be a pridelander?" Tama asked
"Yes I think you deserve a better home" Malka replied
"Are you sure this is Malka?" Mheetu whispered
"Maybe we should trust him on this" Haraka whispered
"You're doing it for me?" Tama asked
"Yes now, what are you waiting for? Let's go" Malka replied
In priderock
"Dad!" Malka called
"Hey, Malka who is this new girl with you?" Mufasa asked
"Dad meet Tama, She helped me when I was lost in the outlands" Malka explained
"H-hi" Tama greeted
"So I was asking if she could live here instead of the outlands because she is alone there with no parents.." Malka insisted
"Hmm, Well since you helped my son you can stay here" Mufasa announced
"Thanks, dad!" Malka cheered
"Isn't that great?" Malka asked
Tama was left speechless she never thought that helping some random pridelander would give her a new home.
"T-thanks your highness" Tama stuttered
"Just call me Mufasa" Mufasa Chuckled
And that's it for Chapter 2, the third chapter would most likely be about Simba
