After that day, Malka's resentment towards his brother grew stronger, and Scar's plan was getting closer to fruition.

"Simba!" Malka yelled.

"What do you want?" Simba replied.

"What was that for?! You nearly drowned me, covered me in mud, and lied!" Malka shouted. "When are you going to tell the truth!?"

"Oh, stop whining, Malka," Simba taunted.

"Why are you like this?" Malka asked. "What have I ever done to you to make you so mean to me?!"

"It's just a game!" Simba sneered. "It's not my fault Mom got mad at you. You attacked me first."

"You started it!" Malka retorted. "Apologize and tell the truth!"

"Why should I?" Simba replied. "I'm going to be the king someday. I can do whatever I want."

"I hate you," Malka growled. "You're the worst!"

Malka lunged at Simba, pinning him to the ground. However, Simba fought back and kicked him. Malka hit his head on a rock and lost consciousness.

"Malka, stop fooling around," Simba said, growing worried. "Malka? Wake up!"

Simba had never anticipated that things would escalate so quickly.

"Oh no, what have I done?" Simba asked himself, panicking. "I need to take him to Rafiki."

"Malka!" Simba called out, shaking his brother's limp body. He felt a pang of guilt and regret as he realized the severity of the situation. "Come on, Malka, wake up!" he pleaded, feeling helpless.

Simba knew that he had to act quickly. He lifted Malka onto his back and started to run towards Rafiki's tree. As he ran, he prayed that his brother would be alright.

When he reached Rafiki's tree, he burst into the shaman's hut, panting heavily. "Rafiki! Malka needs your help!" he exclaimed.

Rafiki quickly assessed the situation and began to tend to Malka's injuries. Simba watched anxiously, feeling more guilty by the minute.

After a few minutes, Malka began to stir. He groaned and rubbed his head, looking around in confusion.

"Simba?" he muttered, still feeling dazed

"I'm here, Malka," Simba replied, his voice thick with emotion. "I'm so sorry. I never meant for this to happen."

Malka looked at Simba, his eyes filling with tears. "I hate you," he whispered.

Simba felt a lump form in his throat. He knew that he had a lot of work to do if he wanted to make things right with his brother.

Malka expressed his strong dislike for his brother, "I hate him so much! He always hurts me!"

Scar listened and asked, "How did it go?"

"Bad... I tried to fight him, but he overpowered me, and I fell unconscious," Malka explained.

Scar offered a solution, "Well, that's unfortunate... You need to overpower him to get your revenge!"

Malka sought Scar's guidance, "I know... What should I do to overpower him Uncle Scar?"

"Use the roar on him," Scar suggested confidently, "It will definitely overpower him."

Malka hesitated, "T-The roar?"

Scar assured him, "Yes Malka, it will be the only way to overpower him. This is the only way."

Malka expressed his concern, "I-i don't want to use the roar on him...It will hurt him..."

Scar replied with a cunning tone, "And that's exactly what we're trying to do. You want your revenge, right? This is the only way to hurt him as much as he hurt you."

Malka agreed reluctantly, "You're right Uncle Scar...He has to pay."

Scar encouraged him, "And that's what I want to hear. Now off you go and teach him a lesson."

Nala strolled over to Simba, "Hey Simba, How are you?"

Simba forced a smile, "I'm fine."

Nala raised an eyebrow, "You don't look fine."

Simba hesitated, "It's just that...I hurt my brother a lot.."

Nala looked concerned, "What happened?"

"We had a fight and after the fight, he fell unconscious," Simba explained. "And he is still mad at me."

"Did you apologize?" Nala asked.

"I did, but he is still mad at me," Simba replied, sounding defeated.

"I think he will forgive you someday," Nala comforted. "Just not this time."

Suddenly, Malka appeared out of nowhere, "Hey, Simba! And hey there Nala..."

Simba tried to greet Malka, "Oh hi there Malka, I hope you-".

But before Simba could finish, Malka cut him off, "Not now Simba! And yes, I still don't forgive you."

Simba looked down, "Then why are you here?"

"Simba, I'm here to let you know that you caused me nothing but pain!" Malka growled. "And I'm here to get revenge!"

"Malka... Please give me a chance... Please don't..." Simba pleaded.

Malka hesitated, "Can i do it? Roaring at Simba?"

But then Malka shook his head, "No... I can't do this...I won't roar at him, Especially with Nala at his side she could also be hurt..."

"Malka?" Simba asked, confused.

"You will pay!" Malka suddenly pounced on Simba. Malka bit Simba's ear and then choked him so he couldn't breathe. Simba screamed in pain but couldn't fight back as Malka overpowered him.

"Stop it!" Nala yelled, jumping on Malka.

Simba gasped for air, "Ow... That hurts."

"Get off me!" Malka demanded, struggling to break free.

"I will if you promise to not hurt him again!" Nala replied firmly.

"What do you want?! Leave me alone and let me do my job! I'm not done yet!" Malka snapped.

"Just stop!" Nala snapped back. "Why not just talk to him about this? Just forgive him, you two need to get along."

"Get off me!" Malka repeated, still struggling.

"Fine, but if you ever think of harming him again it'll be your mistake!" Nala warned, finally getting off Malka.

Malka wanted to continue the fight, but he didn't want to hurt Nala, she was something special to him. "Alright... I'll leave you two here alone," Malka spat before storming off.

"Hey Malka, how did it go?" Scar inquired as Malka entered his den.

"It went well, but I didn't roar at Simba," Malka replied.

"Why not?" Scar asked.

"He's my brother, I can't do that. And Nala was there, she could have been hurt," Malka explained.

"Well, Malka, did your father ever tell you the truth?" Scar asked.

"What truth?" Malka asked, confused.

"Looks like he hasn't," Scar chuckled. "Malka, have you ever wondered why mommy and daddy always favor Simba over you? And why he always gets away with it?"

"Why?" Malka asked. "It's because you aren't related to the royal family. Why would mommy and daddy favor an outsider over their own son?" Scar revealed.

"No, that can't be! You're lying!" Malka snapped.

"Oh, Malka, you are an adopted prince. Your real parents are unknown since you were an abandoned cub," Scar said.

"Don't believe me? Then tell daddy about it, just think about it, Malka. There is a reason why Simba always gets away with it while you get in trouble for something you didn't do," Scar added

"Is that why Simba is always mean to me? He doesn't see me as his brother. Does he know?" Malka asked, feeling betrayed.

"Oh, he absolutely knows. Everyone knows it, Malka, except for you," Scar confirmed.

"Why are you telling me this?" Malka asked. "It seems like you would be in trouble if you tell me the secret!"

"Well, Malka, you see," Scar chuckled. "I and Mufasa aren't the best of friends." "Your situation with Simba reminded me of my situation with Mufasa when we were cubs,"

Scar added. "You and I are alike, Malka. Sisi ni Sawa."

Malka was silent, trying to process everything. Scar's revelation meant that the family he had grown up with was a lie.

"Malka, I am offering you something so you wouldn't just be under Simba's shadow," Scar said. "Join me, Malka. We can rule the Pride Lands together!"

"I'm sorry, Uncle Scar, but I'm not like you," Malka replied. "Simba is just the worst, but even though I'm not related to them, I will never betray my parents."

"Pathetic!" Scar spat. "Malka, you will be nothing but a worthless cub!"

"No, I am the leader of the Lion Guard," Malka declared. "I must protect the Pride Lands, not harm it."

"Then it wouldn't be the first time that I would kill a Lion Guard!" Scar growled.

"Wait... not the first time?" Malka asked, shocked.

"Oh, Malka, I killed the Lion Guard before you were even born!" Scar revealed. "And I certainly wouldn't hesitate to kill you and your Guard!"

"Never!" Malka roared at his own uncle out of anger. He had to tell his father that Scar was plotting to overthrow him, and he had to be exiled.

Malka called out to his father urgently, "Dad, we have to act quickly!"

Mufasa turned to his son, concern etched on his face. "What's the matter, Malka?"

"Scar is planning to overthrow you!" Malka blurted out. "He even killed his own Lion Guard and he tried to recruit me to join his side."

Mufasa's expression darkened at the mention of Scar's name. "Are you absolutely certain about this, Malka? Accusing someone of such serious crimes without evidence is not something to take lightly."

Malka nodded fervently. "I'm sure, Father. You have to do something before it's too late."

"Zazu," Mufasa called out to his majordomo. "Bring Scar to me immediately. I need to speak with him."

"Right away, Your Majesty," Zazu replied and flew off to fetch Scar.

Malka breathed a sigh of relief knowing that his father was taking action.

"Scar!" Mufasa thundered

"What do you want, Mufasa? This better be important," replied Scar with a tinge of annoyance.

"Malka, what was Uncle Scar's intention?" Mufasa inquired.

"His plan was to overthrow you, father. He also fabricated the story about his Lion Guard's demise," replied Malka, revealing Scar's true intentions.

"Is this true, Scar?" Mufasa asked, his tone filled with disappointment.

"Yes," Scar replied as the lionesses who were present gasped in shock.

"How could you?" Mufasa asked, his voice filled with hurt.

"You are unworthy to be king, Mufasa. The throne belongs to me," Scar retorted.

"Then, you shall be banished!" Mufasa bellowed. "You are no longer welcome in the Pridelands and will be considered an enemy!"

"This is only the beginning, Mufasa," Scar said menacingly as he departed. "There will be war, Mufasa, WAR!"

"Dad... I'm sorry about that it's jus-"

"Don't apologize Malka you did the right thing and I am proud of you" Mufasa replied "Once again you proved yourself to be a good leader of the Lion Guard"

"Dad, Is it true that I am adopted?" Malka asked

Mufasa stood there in shock, He finally knew his biggest secret.

"Y-yes" Mufasa said "You were an abandoned cub, I found you alone and I have to keep you or else you will die there"

"I am sorry Malka" Mufasa confessed "I should have told you earlier"

"It's okay" Malka replied "Well I am glad you found me, or else I would have died.."

"I am glad that I found you too," Mufasa said "If it weren't for you, the Lion Guard wouldn't exist, and The pridelands would have been defenseless.."

"That pathetic brat!" Scar snapped

"So Scar, Our plan failed," Shenzi said "What are we going to do now?"

Scar chuckled "Oh Shenzi we were just getting started, Our plan didn't fail!"

"Are you sure? The whole plan was to get that brat on our side" Shenzi replied

"And he didn't!" Banzai added, "We should have killed him!"

"Silence!" Scar snapped "Yes... Yes we will kill him soon"

"But for now, we have to be ready" Scar added "We will start a war and Mufasa will pay for what he has done!"

"So what we're going to do is... Kill Mufasa?" Shenzi asked

"Precisely"

Be Prepared

Song not owned by me

Credit: Walt Disney Pictures

Scar:

I know that your powers of retention

Are as wet as a warthog's backside

But thick as you are, pay attention!

My words are a matter of pride

It's clear from your vacant expressions

The lights are not all on upstairs

But we're talking kings and successions

Even you can't be caught unawares

So prepare for a chance of a lifetime

Be prepared for sensational news

A shining new era

Is tiptoeing nearer

Shenzi:

And where do we feature?

Scar:

Just listen to teacher

I know it sounds sordid

But you'll be rewarded

When at last I am given my dues

And injustice deliciously squared

Be prepared!

"Be prepared... Yeah, we'll be prepared... For what?!" Banzai asked

"For the death of the King!" Scar replied, "We shall march into the pridelands and put him in his place!"

"Yeah, great idea! Who needs a king? No king No king Lalala" The hyenas chanted

"Idiots! There will be a king!" Scar snapped

"But you said.."

"I'll be king!" Scar continued "Stick with me, and you'll never go hungry again!"

"Yeah alright, long live the king!" Shenzi cheered

"Long live the king!"

"Long live the king!"

"King, King, King!" The hyenas Chanted

Hyenas:

It's great that we'll soon be connected

With a king who'll be all-time adored

Scar:

Of course, quid pro quo, you're expected

To take certain duties on board

The future is littered with prizes

And though I'm the main addressee

The point that I must emphasize is

You won't get a sniff without me!

So prepare for the war of the century

Be prepared for the murkiest scam

Meticulous planning

Tenacity spanning

Decades of denial

Is simply why I'll

Be king undisputed

Respected, saluted

And seen for the wonder I am

Yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared

Be prepared!

Hyenas:

Yes, our teeth and ambitions are bared

Scar:

Be prepared!

"Do I really have to work with these hyenas?" Zira complained

"Yes, they are nothing but useful idiots" Scar replied

"Well, certainly we would need some help if we are going to have a war with the pridelanders.." Zira said, "However may I suggest an idea about the hyenas?"

"What about it?" Scar asked

"We betray them after" Zira replied "You certainly wouldn't want these fools to be in the pridelands"

"Great idea.." Scar said "I wouldn't need them, they are nothing but idiots anyway"

"Very well"

"Wow, Malka, that was incredible!" Simba exclaimed. "I had no idea Uncle Scar was capable of such things. And about the fight earlier... I won't tell our parents about it."

"Thanks, I guess," Malka replied curtly.

"Malka, do you really hate me now?" Simba asked with a hint of sadness.

"I wonder why," Malka spat back. "Maybe it's because you're selfish and arrogant!"

"I'm sorry, Malka. Please forgive me. I'll tell the truth," Simba apologized.

"Great, but that doesn't mean I'll forgive you," Malka responded icily.

"Malka, please," Simba pleaded.

"Just do me a favor, Simba. Leave me alone," Malka snapped.

Simba didn't want to leave, but he knew it was best to give Malka some space. Perhaps with time, she would forgive him.
