A little note to the people on Fanfiction: Now, I'm glad you like the story so far,for those who are enjoying the book. Now for those that want me to quit writing and die in a hole somewhere, let me tell you a few things about myself.
I'm a guy who is just a writer for fun, likes to think of many different things, and wishes to show my creativity. Now what you're saying in the review is a bit hurtful... to your average writer, sadly, however, I came from Wattpad that place is filled to the brim with even worse Fate stories with a rare few good ones, so why don't you head on over there and bother those people and see what happens.
I don't like to call people out, but I'll make this an exception. You are people who don't keep an open mind and nitpick certain things. I'm somebody who doesn't give a single fuck about lore. The whole Fate Series is fucked up. I'm simply adding to it and making it worse.
Say all you want. What you haters say doesn't mean shit to me. I'm simply leaving your reviews up there so people can see how much of an intelligent person you are.
Now for those that genuinely like my story, thank you for keeping an open mind that this is FANfiction. I'm not a Fate fanatic and will admit I don't know much about Fate lore, just a few bits here and there. So if you're expecting a lore accurate story, this isn't your book and should leave cause the book will continue not to make sense the further it goes.
Now with that out of my system and myself and my friend laughing at those Hate reviews, please, enjoy.
I would also like to point out that I know my Grammer is awful, but that's because I never proof read my work or double check when I write, it's very difficult to tell when your writing a story on a phone since it never tell you if anything is incorrect.
Ark and Gray walked through the city looking for a good places to stay, which was harder then it looked. Caster absolutely refused at staying any broken down building and low tier hotels. He much rather have a comfortable bed then the cold hard ground or a broken bed looking ready to collapse at any moment.
Gray didn't really know what to do to be honest, she mostly let Ark take the wheel which the Servant was completely fine with. He has been keeping her safe which was enough for her. As a Master she still doesn't know what to do even after the long explanation from Ark which she zoned out of a few times.
I mean... who could blame her? The explanation was very long and very boring. She could tell Ark looked bored when he tried to explain the situation to her... oh God she is slowly staring to realize how much Ark's personality Is affecting her.
Gray blinked when she bumped into Ark who continued to look ahead, his body now tense. She looked passed him to see the girl with black hair tied into twin pony tails. Ark and her were having a stare, one side was scowling while the other side smiled.
"Rin." Ark said crossing his arms looking around for Archer who was no doubt watching them. He made absolutely sure that Gray was behind him. Caster thought he lost her, he wasn't going to allow that to happen again. "I would usually say thanks for someone helping me out, but imagine my surprise when a enemy Master of all people decided to help me out." Ark grinned while Rin continued to glare at the Servant, much to proud to say anything.
"I have nothing to say to you Caster." Rin said evenly making the Mage chuckle at the girl. "I only spared you because you might have some useful information." Ark looked back at Gray who was looking up at him.
"And what kind of information do you think I have?" Ark said knowing what Rin wants, but he was going to milk this opportunity for all its worth. The Master wants something that only Ark knows, and right now Ark is going to dangle this information over her head knowing full well that she desperately wants this info.
Rin looked around seeing a few civilians walking around, they couldn't continue talking like this out in the open. She looked at Caster and knew it was probably going to be impossible to get this Servant and his Master to follow her, cause why would they?
"Well, by the look on your face, I can tell you want something, but can't ask me right now since we're in a more... populated area." Ark shrugged and spun around, grabbing Gray and spinning her around as well. They started to walk away from the older Master making Rin grit her teeth in frustration.
Caster knew she wants something and was purposely finding a way to avoid her. She needs to find a way to get the Mage to give her the information she wants. If she remembers correctly, Merlin's Apprentice was mostly a unknown individual so anything that can be used on Caster was useless.
The only thing the male cared about at the moment was his Master. If she remembers correctly Ark kept his Master close and made sure she was safe, even when she was out of sight Caster didn't mind. Now? The male looked to be practically glued to his Master, maybe something happened causing the little girl to nearly die.
Rin did hear an explosion, that's why she was here in the first place wanting to see if the explosion was just a normal explosion or two Servants fighting and the only class that could probably cause explosion that loud was Caster.
Growl
Both sides paused when the loud growl was heard. They looked around while Archer In his spiritual form smirked knowing full well where that sound came from. His Amber eyes looked at the small girl pressed against Ark's chest who looked embarrassed.
Caster looked down at Gray with a deadpan look that spoke many words, but it was mostly broken down into one.
"Really?" Ark asked making Gray chuckle nervously. "Didn't you just eat something?" He watched as the grey haired girl nodded her head slowly causing the Apprentice to let out a annoyed sigh. Rin felt like this could be a possible opportunity, Caster's Master was young and probably very nieve, maybe she can convince Caster's Master to follow her casuing the Mage to follow as well.
The plan sounded very stupid and super risky, but Rin was willing to take that risk, besides she has Archer and Caster mostly depends on his summons to defend him. She knows Caster has a large arsenal of spell at his disposal and probably attacks only from a distance.
But she couldn't judge a book by its cover. This Servant is the unknown son of King Arther, so there is a very big possibility that this Caster knows a thing or two about fighting and defending himself in close range.
"If you want... I could ask Archer to make you something." Rin said with a wave of her hand. Ark narrowed his eyes and looked behind him at the black haired teenager. Gray peaked around Ark and stared at Rin for a second.
"Master what the hell are you thinking, I'm not cooking for them, especially Caster." Archer's voice echoed in Rin's head making her internally sigh. "What you're asking is suicide, bringing Caster to your home is no joke, Merlin's Apprentice was known for his unknown magic and dangerous spells." Rin scoffed, she highly doubts that Merlin's Apprentice was that strong, she only seen a few things, and that was mostly simple spells, he has yet to show off anything powerful. "Master, if you really wish to do this, tred carefully. Caster can easily level this whole place if he so pleased.".
Rin was very surprised by how cautious Archer sounded. When they first meet Caster, her Servant wasn't very worried or sounded bothered, now? Being near Caster practically put Archer on edge and Rin could tell.
"Stop your whining, I get that, but this is probably our only chance to get some good info on the other masters, all we have to do is not attack Caster's Master, if we don't them we're in the clear." Rin heard Archer scoff and can feel him cross his arms.
"Ya sure, right after he blows us off the face of the earth, Caster isn't stupid, if anything Caster's Master listens to him. She has no clue what's going on and Caster is guiding her along the way, he is probably tell her to tell you: To fuck off." Archer shook his head and stared at Caster who was staring at Rin, he can see the look in the Mage's eyes. Caster was fighting with himself as two different emotions went through him.
The temptation to Kill Rin or let Rin live. Ark made a few exceptions to his morals. There were some kids that did way more harm then good and the Mage won't hesitate to put down that child. Rin... wasn't even a child, she was a teenager and Ark won't hesitate to kill a teenager. Children were a different story.
Rin was being annoying and was even willing to kill Gray over the stupid Grail. He doesn't like Archer cause he tried to kill not even a few weeks ago... hell, he doesn't like anybody at the moment.
The only exception is Gray just because she is cute and is a child... somewhat.
"Gray, be very careful with what you choose, I'm not always going to lead you, so I'm going to let you decide on how we should take this." Gray jumped and looked around slightly alarmed. "Oh right, I forgot to tell you about the connection me and you have... uh... I can explain this later." Gray nodded and walked around Ark making the male turn around as well and face Rin. "Remember, it's your choice, whichever one you choose, I will follow you." Ark said reassuring Gray even more.
Truthful Ark was hoping for Gray to accept Rin's obvious little trap... he swears, if they started heading over to Shirou's place the feeling of blowing up the entire area and getting rid of Mr. Save everyone, and Saber, felt really tempting.
He's hoping that Rin would take them back to her place and make Archer cook for them... now Ark was very curious about Archer's cooking skills, he can kind of remembers that Archer was an amazing cook, and anything he makes could bring anybody to an orgasm.
Caster obviously doubts that Archer's food was that good. Nobody can be that good of a cook, plus Ark was a picky eater, he just didn't like certain foods, no matter how much he tried to eat them.
Ark's food was obviously superior from Archer's food... he is totally not thinking that because he's jealous or has a massive ego when it comes to cooking, which he hides very well...
Ark didn't realize Gray already made her decision and spoke to Rin, who was looking over Gray with a calculating look, trying her best to figure out who this girl and was family she came from.
The Mage blinked when he realized that Rin and Gray were walking side by side towards Rin's Manor... thank fuck. Quickly catching up to the duo and standing right behind Gray, Ark felt another presence right beside him making the male turn and see a familiar face.
"Archer."
"Caster."
Both Servants had a stare down, neither wanting to back down. Rin noticed how the two Servants were having a very intense staring contest and shook her head. Neither blinked or moved. It was a test of will and stubbornness.
"I have a feeling we're going to be allies soon, and I don't like it." Ark said still not blinking.
"I agree, My cute master is really dumb at making certain decisions like these, but this must be her actual smartest idea yet." Archer said with with heavy amount of sarcasm making Ark smirk and nod his head.
"I agree, If I had a different Master, I probably would have blown you off the face of the earth." Ark said back still smirking. Archer smirked back, tossing a glance at Rin who started to sweat since she heard what Caster said and can already hear her Servant laughing thanks to the connection between them. Meanwhile Gray was blissfully unaware at what was happening right behind her. Which was a good thing, for both Rin and Archer.
"I said the exact same thing, my Master is not exactly the sharpest one." Ark chuckled while Rin growled at Archer who shrugged not caring at what his Master was about to do. "Actually, can we switch Masters, I much rather have yours then mine, she maybe cute, but she's annoying."
"Hell no, keep your Master, I much prefer mine then yours, if anything I know for a fact she might try and boss me around none stop, she looks and acts like the angry bossy type that you would see in a certain film." Rin felt her eye twitch In anger at how the two Servants who looked like they were hating eachother suddenly became best buds and started making fun of her.
Archer looked at Ark realizing that he said, how could the Mage from the past know of those films, they weren't even a thing back then, sure the Grail provided information, but not to that great extent. The Servant decided to think about it later, Ark accidentally slipped up and spilled something he shouldn't have.
"Master is very much the bossy type, not sure how I can stand it so easily." Archer said while Ark crossed his arms, but frowned when his clothes strained against his chest slightly making him groan. He need a new set of clothes and stat. Watch our clothing stores, something is about to get stolen.
"Probably because you been near it before." Ark smirked making Archer's own smirk drop cause it also just reminded him that Caster knew who he was... but it seems Caster wasn't really going to use that knowledge agaisnt him, probably because it doesn't mean much to the Mage.
"We're here!" Rin shouted making the two Servants look and see Archer's Master standing infront of the door her body trembling in restrained angry trying her hardest not to show it infront of Gray who looked at the two Servants curiously.
Archer and Caster suddenly bumped fist, they didn't know why they did it, maybe because they both enjoy tormenting Rin... or maybe it was something else... who knows to be honest.
The group walked into the building and Gray was in awe at the sight. Meanwhile Ark hummed, he never really got to look around the building since he was mostly there to set up traps. Sneaking a glance over at Gray making sure she was still beside him.
After that Rin lead them towards the elegant looking dinning room. Ark watched as Gray took a seat and so did Rin. He turned to Archer who looked slightly annoyed with having to cook for someone he didn't like.
"I'll make something for Gray, you don't need to make Archer cook her anything... besides I doubt Archer's cooking is any good." Ark said heading over to where he think the kitchen was. Unknown to him was Archer's left eye was twitching at what Ark said. He tried really hard to not let the Caster's words get to him... but NOBODY disrespects his cooking.
Rin was about to defend Archer's cooking skills, but said person held his hand up in a way to silence her.
"No need Master... I'll handle this." Archer walked after Caster who was internally smirking. He honestly didn't think the bait would work cause he anticipated that Archer wouldn't care about what Ark would say, but it seems disrespecting his cooking skills was enough.
Both Servants walked into the kitchen while both Master's stayed silent.
"Ark's cooking is really good, you might really like his food." Gray said while Rin scoffed at what they grey haired girl said.
"I highly doubt that, Archer's cooking is much better, I can attest to it." Rin said crossing her arms while Gray tilts her head at the older Master.
"What if they are both equal good at cooking?" Gray said out loud making Rin blink. "Ark doesn't really cook Japanese food, he mostly cooks food that you would find in America, Spain, and Puerto Rico." Now Rin looked intrested, hearing that Ark was able to cook foods from different countries... but that shouldn't be right, Caster is from Britain, so how could he have possibly learned stuff from different places?
Suddenly a heavenly smell entered their noses causing both Rin and Gray's mouth to water. They turned to see Ark carrying a medium size plates with Archer right beside him, who was currently holding two large plates which they couldn't see what was on them. Both Servants glared at each other.
Both Servants set down their plates and the Master's could help but gasp at what they say. Not only did the food smell amazing, it also looked like it was made from the gods themselves.
Caster made a delicious looking grilled Salmon. The pieces of fish were large and had a slightly dark orange tint on the side showing that it was cooked to perfection. On top of the fish had a bit of seasonings sprinkled on it. Beside the grilled Salmon was some shrimp which was covered in a sweet looking glaze that covered all the shrimps on the plate.
Meanwhile Archer made a plate of Onigiri (Rice balls) with some a small bowl of Miso Soup. Next to those was a large bowl of Ramen which smelled like had a chicken flavor smell.
Both Caster and Archer made two plates, one for each female. Giving them both a chance to try the Servant's food.
"Dinner is served." Both Servants stared at their own Master's intensely as they open stared at the food infront of them. Gray didn't even care for she simply started to dig taking a bit of everything and making very weird noises, that causes Ark to step back slightly.
Rin however couldn't even decide on what to eat, the fish looked delicious, but the soup smells heavenly. It was like a tug of war battle on what food she should eat first. Archer however was a little surprised by how much his Master was struggling to eat first. If he was In her shoes, Archer would have picked Caster's food since he was curious on how the Mage Made his food.
With a roll of his eyes Archer nudged Ark's place closer to his Master making her blink and look up at her Servant who crossed his arms.
With a sigh Rin grabbed her fork and took a good size chunk of fish. She looked to be hesitating for a second. The Master looked at the other Master only to see the little girl tearing into both meal swapping in-between meals. Ark cautiously slid Gray a glass of water since he has yet to see that girl take a breath of air.
Rin steeled herself and took a bit...
Archer watched Rin's face had to hold back his smirk at the sight of her face which looked to be God smacked, since she was frozen in her seat.
The man took a glance at Ark's plate and grabbed a spare fork he stabbed one of the shrimp which were already detailed allowing him to pop the shrimp in his mouth.
Ark grabbed a rice balls and looked it over. He never had a rice ball before and was kind of curious on what it tasted like. With a shrug he took a bite of the food.
Both Servants stood there slowly chewing their food for a few seconds while having a thinking look spread across their face. Both of them thought and deducted on how the food tasted.
"Not bad." Both Servants said at the same time. Caster shot a glance at Archer and nodded his head in respect which was rare for the Mage to give out. Archer returned the nod before they focused on their own Master. Rin finally snapped out of her shock and tried her hardest to not make a sound as she ate her food.
Gray was already finished with her food making Ark stumble back slightly. Seeing this made him realize that if he ever got summoned in the Grand Order he will need to make much larger portions then usual since Mordred loves eating his food. He really hoped EMIYA got summoned first and deal with the kitchen, Ark much rather cook for himself and Mordred, maybe even Gray if she ever gets summoned too.
The Mage started to smirked slightly cause it seem his little plan worked. Distracting Rin from her own little plan on getting some info off Ark. It was stupid easy on tricking the Magus. All he needed to do was cook something spectacular and that might distract her, add Archer's cooking into the mix and you get an unstoppable force.
Not only that Ark may or may not have sprinkled something into Rin's food which caused her to yawn loudly at the table. Gray yawned too making the Mage wince slightly... shit, it seems that one of the plates were swapped and his Master had some of the sleeping powder In her food.
Both Servants watched as their Masters suddenly face plants against the wooden table. Ark narrowed his eyes and looked at Archer who crossed his arms with a smirk on his face.
"If you were trying to knock out my master trying and be more discreet." Ark grumbled, of course Archer saw him, seems like his plan wasn't a full success. "Aw what's wrong, is the little Apprentice angry that his plan didn't work." Ark didn't want to give Archer the satisfaction, so he turned away.
"Asshole." Ark said as he picked up a sleeping Gray. "Now where do I put you?" The Mage looked down at his little Master and tilts his head. Glancing back at Archer he saw the man carry Rin towards the hall way probably leading to her room.
"If you're wondering, the guest room is down the hall on your right." Archer said before vanishing from sight. The Mage snorts slightly before taking the little girl to the guest bedroom. He was quick to notice that Gray was flinching and twitching a lot.
"I wonder what you're dreaming about." Ark mumbled as he entered the guest room which wasn't too far from Rin's room. "Probably something stupid or random, cause that's how most dreams turn out..." Ark layed Gray down on the bed and stood up straight.
He looked around the room for something to do before finally coming up with an idea. He grimaced however and looked out the window to see the sun slowly lowering into the earth.
Reaching into his back pouch Ark pulled out a crystal which he stared at for a while. After the fall of Camelot the Mage took his research on enchanting to another level. He tried many different methods to collecting souls, and the only tame way was by using animals souls... but even then all his experiments were either too weak or ended in failure.
Human soul or something close to a human soul was stronger then animals souls, unless he found some crazy strong or exotic creature, he has no hope in creating strong enchantments.
He remembered his first enchantment which wasn't strong at all, but he still enchanted an item which was a simple ring. He was able to get ahold of a human soul which was difficult to get, Ark didn't feel anything when he took the person life, not like the person was a good guy to begin with so the Mage took the person life mercilessly.
The souls was that of a random killer that tool the lives of anyone, Ark stumbled apoun them an was quick to take their sorry excuse of a soul.
With it, Ark created a ring that allowed him to cast spells more easily.
The Mage glanced down at his right hand and looked at the silver ring which has a shiny ruby on it. He brought the ring up to his face and looked at it. Not the most elegant ring, but then against he wasn't one for jewelry, he prefers effectiveness over appearance... ok maybe not entirely, he proposed got a Ring with a ruby on it just so it matched with his armor.
Ark shot a glance at the sleeping Gray before flicking his hand causing a portal to open an for Kit to step out. The Fox looked at his Summoner who pointed at Gray. With a nod Kit hopped on the bed and layed down beside the girl.
With a nod of his head Ark went towards the only window in the room and opened it. He took a step back and jumped out the open window. Ark rolled across the dirt and continued running towards the city.
Meanwhile Gray was tossing and turning in her sleep as she dreamed of a certain Mage.
Gray looked around fearfully. Her eyes darted over the place looking at everything, thinking it might jump out at her. She whimpered slightly as the trees groaned all of a sudden. She yelped when something thumped behind her. Spinning around the young Master's heart dropped.
It was Ark, he was covered in blood and his armor looked like it went through war with the many dents and gashes on it. The Mage was laying down on the grass floor making Gray run up to the Mage.
"Ark! Are you ok?" Gray reached out only for her hands to pass through the male. She was quick to realize that this was another one of Ark's memories. The Mage explained this before along with the connections of Servants and Masters, it even happens vis versa, with Servants getting Memories of the Master's past.
Gray looked over the Mage and was glad to see that he is still breathing. She jumped when the Mage lifted his head and looked around. His green eyes looked around the area trying to search for anymore danger. After confirming that he was safe, the Mage pushed himself off the floor only to groan and hold his side in pain.
Looking down at himself, he saw the damage on his body. With a huff Ark raised his arm and tired to cast a healing spell only for it to flop making the male groan as he fell forward with a thump.
"Of course I'm out of Magicka, those bastards had ways to counter my spells." Ark grumbled as he pushed himself off the floor once again, but this time got to his feet.
Gray stood up as well and watched as the Mage stumbled along. The female was quick to catch up watching with increasing worry as Ark's breathing became more rag as time went on.
"Is this... Ark's death?" Gray mumbled with a bit of fear, she doesn't wish to see Ark deaths, sure she has seen plenty of death already, buy seeing the Mage's death put her on edge.
However her thought process was put to a halt when she heard grass being pushed aside. She and Ark look to see a man stumbled passed the bushes. He was wearing simple old style clothing with a large knife In his hands.
Gray noticed the blood that covered the man. The man however didn't look injured at all, he appeared to be in top health.
Ark stared at the man before glancing at the bloody knife. He looked over the man's clothes and came to a quick conclusion on what the man was and what he was doing.
"Where the fuck are those kids, they couldn't have gotten far, at least their parents died without much of a hass-" The man coughed up blood and his eyes became wide at the sight of what appears to be a Knight. He stared at Ark before slowly looking down to see a glowing purple sword going through his chest and coming out the back.
Gray went wide eyed at how fast Ark moved. If anything his body glowed a light green and gold before he suddenly summoned his bound sword and skewered the man.
"Hhhmmm, you'll be a fine soul." Ark said hold out a crystal In his free hand. "Not like anyone will miss you, you're just a murderer, If anything I'm making this world a slightly better place..." Ark said as the man tried to speak only for the Mage to twist the sword making the man cry out in pain.
Grey watched as the man's eyes quickly became more blank as the seconds blew by. She watched as the man tried to swing the dagger into Ark shoulder only for the dagger to break against the Mage's shoulder on contact.
The man finally fell limp and the Master watched in confusion as a purple energy came out of the man and flow into the crystal that was still In Ark's hand.
The Mage ripped his sword out of the man's chest and carelessly tossed the body to the side. Ark looked at the crystal with a smile. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a scroll. He rolled it open and looked through it for a second.
With a nod of his head Ark casted a spell and the scroll burned away after finally being used.
Ark's body glowed a bright gold as all his wounds healed up. He rolled his shoulders then looked down at his damaged armor...
"Fuck, maybe I should try and make a spell based around repairing armor... or maybe I could weave some magic into it and all I have to do is channel some Magicka into it... sounds like to much work to be honest... eh. Or maybe an enchantment... if I ever get to that point."
Ark started rambling off while Gray sighed, she was sure this was the Mage's death, but apparently it isn't thankfully.
But what did Ark do to that man and why does the Master get that feeling that she shouldn't try and figure it out.
The memory slowly faded away leaving Gray in a dark, empty area. She looked around wondering where she was this time.
"I should have saved her." Ark's voice was heard from behind Gray making her turn around to see the Mage there with his back turned to her. "Yet, I let her do this rebellion in turn costing her life..." Ark raiser his hand and Gray watched as an elegant looking blade appeared in his hand, this one wasn't Clarent, it was another blade entirely. "I should have told her to run away. We could have traveled the world, get to see many different places." The sword in Ark's hand started glowing.
Grey shuffled slightly as the feeling of Ark's sword. It felt powerful, but also extremely dangerous. If anything Gray can tell this wasn't a sword that Heros would use, this a that doesn't pick sides on good or evil, it's a weapon that follows only the user's intentions.
"I should have tried to change her fate, yet that would only end in failure, I tried to be the best brother she could have, show her that she mattered in the world." Ark's sword got brighter as the Mage continued to talk. "I would have help her become a great Queen, but her fate was already set in stone, and now she is know as the villian in Father's story."
"I'll show this world that they were wrong and prove Father wrong too, I made a promise to see her again and intend to keep the promise. My Fate is my own and nothing will stop me, no matter what." Ark raised the sword above his head which shine like a beacon swirling with both gold and dark energy. "And by my name and title as Merlin's Apprentice, I will set my own destiny and change this world, not for me, but for those that I cared about."
Ark growled before he took a deep breath.
"Excalibur!" Ark brought down the sword unleashing the energy built up inside the blade. "Oblivion!" Gray watched a large beam of gold and dark energy shot forward. The Master can feel the power within that attack and could only fear what might happen if one was infront of that attack.
This was Ark's hidden weapon. A weapon that she never heard of. She heard of Clarent and Excalibur, but she never read about Merlin's Apprentice being able to use or have a sword with this much power.
Who is Ark and what are his true motivates? He says he doesn't have ot want a wish, yet every Servant has a wish, this made her wonder what Ark's wish could be and why he wants It. But Gray doesn't have a wish and when Ark figured that out he completely ignored his own wish and only wishes to keep her safe.
This also made her wonder what Ark had to go through. She remembered the Mage telling her how he witnessed his Brother's death and the fall of Camelot... but Ark acts like he is just fine, like nothing is weighing him down... was that all an illusion to not worry her?
The way he talked about the fall was with such boredom making it look like he didn't care at all. But with his brother's death Gray can actually hear the pain In his voice.
Gray sighed and rubbed her head, all this thinking was making her head her. She decided to lay down on the ground which actually felt pretty comfortable. The Master yawned and closer her eyes. And within a few seconds she felt herself drifting off.
But before she went to deep in her slumber Gray wonders what Ark was doing right now.
