Jays pov; it's been a month and a half since me and Erin spent Christmas with our kids and family. It was a great time. The cousins had so much fun together while everyone was opening presents me and Erin opened a present that was fork teddy and Carson and they asked us to be their twins godparents and of course we says yes also while we were at the cabin I realized that the cabin needed sole upgraded and add more room and both my brother and my dad agreed so when ever we have free time we will work on it right now Erin is 7 months along with the twins and she is doing pretty good the kids have started back to school a couple weeks ago and now we are all at work tonight
AO= well boys and girls this is my last set of paperwork I even do since I'm officially retired now nice working with you guys
E= oh man your leaving us already
AS= yes I am hey I give you guys an extra couple weeks so Kim can get settled back into work after having Dakota

AO= it's no problem

AO= who knew 10 years ago when I picked you out at Academy, he would turn into a not so bad cop after all adam

HV= I have to agree alvin I'll even came to Mollys to celebrate tonight

J= I wonder if teddy and Carson don't king stay a little bit longer so we can go to Mollys to say goodbye to Alvin

We all finish our paper work as fast at possibly and all head straight to Mollys and start setting up for the party Alvin shows up about an hour later everyone starts to catch up with everyone else from the firehouse and the doctors at med right now me and Erin are at a table that is near the bar and we are hearing Kevin and Herman talking
KA= hey Herman it's looks a little Rough in here why is that
H= well Kevin moly's been needing a tuneup but we don't really have the money for it to do the improvements
KA= wow that sucks but I got a way to help you get some money
J= oh you do what's it
KA= how about we have a little battle of the badges you firemen at 51
H= it's firefighters since we have Stella on truck she hates when someone say firemen over firefighter
KA= all right my bad so you firefighters against us at the 21st and who ever winds gets money and since I'm a nice guy each thing you beat us in I'll give you an extra 100 of my own money and then I'll come down here and fix the things that needs to be fix
H= you know what Kevin that sound fun you got your self a deals
E= umm excuse me Kevin what did you just plan without talking to everyone about it
J= yeah what if we don't want to do it kevin

E= yeah it's just Kevin decide all on his own that we will do this battle of the badges without talking with us about his idea

Me and Erin stays for about an hour more then head hike over the next two weeks Kevin and Herman figure out the game plan and plan our a week of competition between 21st and 51
E= I can't believe Kevin got all of us into this battle of the badges

E= I kind of wish I wasn't pregnant so that I can play the games with you guys
J= yeah maybe after how it goes that's when we decide to do this more yearly like a tradition

J= according to the schedule it's soccer first
E= oh wow that's cool since I can't play I decide to be the cheerleader for our side and decide to get something for the kids to wear

E= no but good and close guess but I got them a little police outfit that has their last name on it I brought one for each of the kids form the 21 like Kevin's , Adam's and the two new babies
J= oh wow how cute I think they will like it
E= I also made everyone a uniform shirt for the games you guys will play in.
J= oh wow you had a lot of time on your hands didn't you
E= well can you blame me I'm at the very end of this pregnancy I can't really do much I'm so bored when the older three kids are at school and the twins are taking a nap
J= yeah I don't blame you there
E= my brother and Carson are going to be there to come and cheer with we and also help with the kids
J= well that's good to hear ( text alert) well it's Kevin he said we have a little practice before the game today so I better get going
E= all right I'll meet you there in about two hours also here is the shirts for the team you should take them with you

I leave work so I can go and practice with the team a few hours later we sadly lose In soccer again 51 the next day was the 5k and we won that race next was boxing match between hank and Boden
E= I still can't believe you agree to do thud hank
HV= well it's for a good reason beside wouldn't it be fun if me and Boden go against each other for once
J= yeah It would
E= just go easy on him hank
HV= of course I will
M= ladies and gentlemen it's time to get loud we have the match up of the century we got Sargent Hank voight form the 21st district going against cheif. Wallace Boden form firehouse 51

J= wow sounds like they are excited for this match up
E= oh yeah
J= how much do you think when we get home we will have a little wrestling match ourself with the kids

J= what are you talking about Kelly I'll win beside i left up 5 kids everyday compared to your three kids
K= oh, really, you are comparing how many kids we have that's fine you have more than me but you don't carry extra 70 pounds every day
S= all right enough boys let's just watch the match
We watch the match go on Hank gets in a few punches, but after three long rounds Boden wins
H= sorry you had to lose Sergeant
HV= no, you're not Herman
H= yeah, maybe I'm not
HV= well Herman just because I lost doesn't mean anything because I will still give you $500 of my own money to help you fix up Molly's.
H= oh, really that's great
HV= yeah it's a great bar. It needs some improvement
E= well that was nice of you
HV= I can be a nice guy sometimes
J= yes you can
We all go home. The next day is the big event I'm in which is the arm wrestling against Kelly right now. I'm getting my arm ready to wrestle
KB= hey Erin are you ready for this arm wrestling match
E= oh yeah, I love any chance I get to CJ with his out of shirt on with his muscle showing for any reason
KB= I bet you do but don't you think it's kind of funny that your husband, is arm wrestling your ex boyfriend
E= I didn't think of it that way, but no it isn't weird at all. Me and Kelly are friends now and Jay knows that he has no reason to be jealous
KB= no he doesn't
Everyone gets settled in and it was time at first Kelly was giving me a hard time with the arm wrestling, but in the end. I won
J= haha i told you having more kids will make it easier to arm wrestle
K= yeah yeah whatever day you want don't need to rub it in
E= way to go babe ) kiss him)
J= why thank you
E= sorry about you losing Kelly
K= it's OK maybe I need to have more kids before we have a rematch of the arm wrestling
S= oh no, I am good I don't need no more kids right now. Three is a lot to handle
We all head home after I went in the arm wrestling against Kelly , the next day is two events. The first one is rock climbing and it didn't really surprised, but fire house 51 won that because they do practice every day doing that rock climbing, the next event was an obstacle course, and in the end, us the cops won, so now it was a tie between us and the firehouse
KA= well, since we are in a tie, the best way to break a tie is to do an old fashion tug-of-war
AR= awesome we are going to crush it
CZ= not so fast Adam, we did a tug-of-war before and we won that one
E= oh boy
AO= everyone please get in position, fire house, but the one on the right side while district 21 is on the left ( they do ) I want is everyone in position to finally declare who is the better squad
All = oh yes we are
The tug of war gets started it was a little back and forth at first but in the end we won and won the whole thing
H= wow Kevin congrats your team won the battle
KA= why thanks Herman you know since this was fun even though you lost I think I'll give you 500 of my own money to help and I'll even come and help fix things for you
H= wow that is so nice of you
KA= why thank you

E= your welcome also maybe we should make this a regular thing each year it was a lot of fun to watch I want to participate next time

We all head to Mollys and I have some celebrate drinks a couple hours days later we are in the bullpen finishing up some paperwork

HV= Adam your lucky because what I have to say has nothing to do with another case

HV= so it came to my realization that we have more officers in this unit then we do detectives
AR= oh really
HV=oh yeah so for 5 of you which is Kevin, Vanessa , Kim Kenny and Adam you need to become a detective here soon so have you guys been studying any lately
KB= I looked over the material a little but while I was at home
KA= not really
VR= I haven't thought about it much
KR= I glance over the stuff here and there
AR= yeah I haven't read anything since high school
HV= well you guys should pick it up again because next Saturday I got you all signed up for the test

HV= oh yeah but bad news is the test isn't here in Chicago

HV= it's in Wisconsin
J= really why is that
HV= it's was the only place that could fit five people in at once

HV= the only problem I have is I can't find a hotel in Wisconsin that has any openings it's been hard seems like they all are booked up
J= wait I got any idea that could work

J= so remember at thanksgiving when we mentioned us going to cabin for Christmas and you all were jealous because you wanted to come and see this cabin why don't we use my grandfather cabin it has plenty of room for everyone and also we can train in the wood and we could help them practice and prepare for the test
E= oh yeah that's a good idea
HV= you know what jay that's a good idea and your cabin is pretty close to where the test is going to be so I say let's do it and go to your cabin
AR= wow we finally get to see your cabin
KA= so ready to see it
KB= oh can't wait but do you mind if we bring our husband or wives and kids since Dakota is still pretty new
J= there is plenty of room so I don't see why not
HV= yeah that's fine everyone gets to come and bring their family with you
GM= all right that's great
E= when do we need to leave
HV= we all need to leave on Sunday to practice and study for those days before the test
J= all right that works
We all finish up paperwork and then heard home we get things ready for Sunday over the next couple days we get our stuff together
PJ= hey mommy why are we packing
E= well buddy we are going up to the cabin for the week
CN= we are why is that
J= well carmyn we are going up there with all your aunts and uncles so that they can take a test to grow into a new role
EG= auntie Vanessa going to be there
E= yes she is baby girl same with all your aunts and uncles and your little cousins like Violet
EG= oh yeah I can't wait
J= do we got everything packed now
E= yes we do I'm actually glad we are going to the cabin
J= oh yeah why is that
E= well normally at this point in my pregnancy I get so bored and then we go to the cabin to have a little baby moon and it always makes me feel good once I come back form the cabin I have another set of energy all of sudden
J= oh yeah well I guess it worked out for you then
E= oh yeah it did
J= so I hope you don't mind us leaving early so that we arrive before everyone else
E= no it's totally fine I understand beside I rather arrive early so the kids can get settled in before all their friends come
J= oh yeah all right kids are you ready to go to the cabin
JR= oh yeah

E= well before we go we all need to head to restroom to use it before we leave on this long car ride ahead of us
PJ= all right mommy
J= I think you need to pee more than the kids

Erin and the kids all use the restroom real fast then we get into the car and head off to the cabin we arrive within 3 hours once we get there we get our stuff inside and unpacked and get ready for everyone else to show up about two hours later everyone else finally shows up
J= hey guys welcome to my cabin
AR= wow it's nice and big jay
VR= wow this is super nice
HU= oh my jay I'm shocked on how nice it looked better than I thought
J= well why thank you everyone .
HV= so where is my grandkids at
E= they are inside eating lunch inside I made enough for everyone so the kids can have some food after this long drive you guys had
KB= all right thanks Erin
HU= I'll get the kids and we will all go eat

Everyone heads inside the kids ear their lunch that Erin made while all the guys bring in all the bags and stuff everyone had the first day was more of a settle into the cabin day the next couple of days they all started to practice and study with the help of us they all do a few rounds of practice and were good now it's the night before the test
E= so do you guys think your ready for the test tomorrow
VR= oh yeah I think so
KA= I've been ready
KB= same here Kevin
KR= oh yeah so ready
AR= I just hope I don't fail
HV= I hope you all do well tomorrow I know you are good cops so just do your best and hopefully you guys will pass the test

E= agreed and Adam I might only say this once but I'm glad you are part of this unit and you are a great cop
AR= wow did you guys hear that Erin Lindsay gave me a compliment

J= oh yeah but Adam it's not Lindsay anymore it's Erin Halstead now

J= my advice is to take your time and trust your guts
E= and don't mess up ( they all laugh )
We all finish eating then we all hang out for a while until the kids bedtime we get all the kids to bed and then we go to sleep ourselves since most of us have an early morning ahead of us the next morning the test takes get up and go with hank, while Erin and the ladies take care of the twins and I decide to have Antonio , Dante and mouse to help me start getting some remodeling doing about four hours later they all come back fork the test and Erin has lunch for them
E= oh look there they are
AD= welcome back guys
J= so how did you guys do
VRA= daddy your back ( runs to him)
KJ= mama is back ( runs to her)
KA= there's my girl were you good while we were gone
E= she always is
VR= how about you little man were you good for uncle jay and aunt Erin
J= he was and he had the best time with Ashton and the twins
KA= well that's good to hear
DT= so when will you guys find out if you pass or not
HV= it will take about two weeks to find out the results
Everyone starts to eat the lunch Erin made and then we spend the next couple days enjoying the cabin together and not worrying about work they all head back to Chicago a couple days later.
