Erin's pov; it's been about two months since me, Jay and the kids for Christmas up at the cabin with our brothers in the kids cousins. It felt nice to spend a pretty great holiday with my brother for once. Also way we were at the cabin Teddy and Carson asked me and Jay, if we would love to be there twins godparents and we of course said yes. two weeks ago we travel to Wisconsin for Kevin Vanessa, Adam Kenny Aunt Kim to take their detector test. We are waiting on the results right now I'm in the last couple weeks of this pregnancy since the other three are at school I pack up the twins and head to the district to check on Jay and the team.

P= Erin what are you guys doing here? Shouldn't you be at home because you're close to being able to pop those babies out
E= oh yes I am, but I got bored at home so I thought I'd come to visit you guys are they upstairs?
P= yes they are all buzz you up since you got your hands full with the boys
E= oh yes I do ( upstairs)
KA= oh, look who's here my favorite twin boys
JR= uncle Kev Kev.
JW= auntie Vanessa
J= I guess we know who their favorites are besides you
E= oh yeah, but hello ( kiss)
J= how are you
E= not too bad ready for this whole thing to be over and be able to have my body back
J= I bet you are so were the boys good for you?
E= yes, they are like always
HV= hey listen up guys I just got a call from the higher-ups and he gave me the test results for the detectives test
KA= oh really
AR= please tell me I passed
VR= please tell me my results already My heart is beating out of my chest.
HV= well Erin since you were here why don't you wait the results on the whiteboard if you don't mind
E= of course I don't mind

Once Hank hands over the test results, I turn the whiteboard around and start loading the results for the detector test about 10 minutes later

AR= hurry up Erin i'm getting impatient over here
J= chill out Adam
E= all right I'm done, so I'm going to the other results one at a time and when I was your damn it will be who got the highest to the lowest score
KA= oh man come on
E= so first up is Kevin Atwater you got 100% and you passed congrats
VR = way to go babe ( kiss him)
E= all right next step is actually a tie between two of you
KR= oh, really who is the tie?
E= well it was the two ladies Kim Inverness. See you guys passed
GM= way to go girls

E= the next up is the newest member of our team, which is Kenny Rixton you also pass
KR= wow, that's awesome
AR= wait I'm last does that mean I didn't pass
E= no it doesn't Adam you did pass, but you barely passed
HU= well at least you pass that's good babe
J= oh yeah
HV= so since you're past, next time you go to mollys drinks will be on me and I'll make sure Herman knows that
AR= wow thanks boss
KA= yeah thanks sarge
E= wow that's nice of you
HV= well I could be nice sometimes
JR= grandpa grandpa
JW= I want grandpa
J= I guess the boys want their grandpa all of a sudden
E= oh yeah
HV= there is my favorite grandson's come to grandpa ( they do)

Me and the boys only stay for about another hour, then head home so we can either nap or less until the older three get home from school later on that night we all eat dinner and then all the kids go to bed

J= so how are you feeling today?
E= not too bad, but my back and feet are starting to ache more
J= well only a couple more weeks then you'll be done
E= yeah it's kind of bittersweet because usually at this point I'm so ready to be done and have this baby but it's different
J= oh yeah, since it's not our baby, we would be holding that baby right away so it feels weird that it's almost the end of the journey
E= oh yeah, I think since it's getting closer to time I might go see Dr. Charles to make sure I don't have a hard time when it comes to giving birth to the babies
J= oh yeah, it's going to be hard for sure
E= so I was thinking today maybe to do something for my brother in Carson since they are going to be the first time parents maybe we should do a baby shower so they can get some stuff they need for the twins
J= that sounds like a good idea
E= why thanks maybe I should do a surprise baby shower for them
J= that sounds great babe
E= but right now I'm beyond tired so let's head to bed
J= all right do I have to carry you or do you think you can walk
E= well since you said something, please and thank you for carrying me to the bed

Jay picks me up and goes to our bedroom. We fall asleep pretty easily, then over the next couple days I plan a little surprise, baby shower for my brother in Carson. Today is the day of the event.

J= so did you get everything ready for the baby shower today?
E= oh yeah, now I got to figure out a way to get them to the location
J= haven't figured that part out yet
E= no I haven't
J= ( thinks ) what if I called them up and say you have been super tired and achy lately and I think you need a massage to make you feel
E= oh that's a very good idea, but can I actually have a massage soon because that sounds pretty good right about now
J= ( pulls her into his chest ) yes, of course I'll set one up for you in the next couple days
E= OK that's good
J= I'll call them now

Jay call Teddy and Carson and they think it's a good idea so they are on their way over

E= so what did they say?
J= they agreed they will be here around 1 PM to get you
E= all right that works for me give me enough time to get dressed. Also gives you and the kids enough time to go set up before we get there by then
J= all right I'll go grab the kids and go get things done. Just text me when you're five minutes away from the location.
E= all right I will do that you are a pretty great husband don't you know that
J= oh yeah, I hear that a lot

Jay goes and gathers up the kids and all the stuff they need to set up the baby shower and leave once they leave I get myself dressed and ready Teddy in Carson arrive right at 1 PM. We didn't start heading to location right before we arrive by taxi, and then it was almost time to surprise my brother and Carson.

TC= Erin are you sure this is where you get a massage or it doesn't look like the right place to be
E= I am sure it might not look like it on the outside, but it is inside believe me
CW= we do Erin let's head inside to get you a much-needed massage

We start to walk inside in within 30 seconds. Everyone jumps up and yells surprise

TC= wow what is happening
J= welcome to your guys's parenthood, baby shower
CW= what is that
E= it's a baby shower but it's more for the first time parents so you can get everything you need for the twins
TC= wow that's nice
J= Erin thought of doing this for you since you need a lot of stuff for the twins
CW= wow that's nice of you
TC= super nice that is why you are truly the best sister ever Erin ( hugs)
E= why thank you Teddy

Teddy in Carson enjoy their little baby shower for the next couple hours then we will head home over the next week. My pain in my back and feet start to hurt more and more so she decides to schedule me another prenatal massage.

J= are you ready for your massage?
E= oh yes, you wouldn't believe it
J= I bet hopefully this helps you big time
E= hopefully but thank you for scheduling another massage for me
J= it's no problem babe anything that will help you not to be in pain anymore
E= well better get going, so I'm not late to the massage
J= all right see you later. Call me when you're done with it
E= all right I will

I kissed Jay and head to my massage. I live within 20 minutes. I text you that I have arrived and then I go inside to check in

PML= hello how may I help you
E= hello my husband called and scheduled me a prenatal massage at nine the name should be under Halsted
PML= oh yes, you are right here Please come with me right this way.
E= all right ( stars to get massage )
MLA= so is this your first baby
E= no it isn't but also it's not my baby. I'm actually a surrogate for my brother.
MLA= oh, how nice of you to do that for him
E= why thanks

For the next 30 minutes, I get my massage and also chitchat with the massage lady

E= oh, can we stop for a second I think I have to use the restroom real fast
MLA= of course we can. The restroom is right down the hallway there.
E= all right thank you ( gets up and a glass of water) oh man I think my water just broke
MLA= oh wow you did congrats by the way, so can I call anyone for you to come get you
E= no I'll call my husband once I get into my car ( stars to leave)
MLA= all right good luck
E= why thank you
J= ( in the car ) hey you are you done already?
E= what kind of babe I had to leave early because I got up to use the restroom and my water broke
J= wait really
E= oh yeah, I'm in my car getting ready to drive to med
J= All right, I'll meet you there
E= all right thanks babe but could you call Teddy and Carson for me since I'm not really focused on trying to call them right now
J= of course I can be
E= I will I love you

I get off the phone and had to man I arrive within 20 minutes

ML= hey Erin what are you doing here
E= well I was getting a massage with my water broke so here I am
ML= all right I'll go get you a room and have a doctor. Check you out.
E= oh, I also Jay should be coming soon with my brother and his husband
ML= all right when they get here, I'll bring them to you
E= all right thanks Maggie you are the best
ML= that's what they say

Maggie gets me to my room while I wait on Jay, Carson and Teddy to arrive

NM= hey Erin so I guess these twins wanted to come out and meet their dad's already
E= oh yeah and I'm so glad you are the one who delivering these babies
NM= I'm glad I am too
J= hey Erin babe. We are here.
TC= hey sis we are here.
CW= thank God we made it in time
E= oh, yeah, thank god
NM= so Erin I looking over you and checking you out you're at 4 cm along
E= well I am that far along that's cool
NM= so I know that typically you haven't gotten any pain meds in the last pregnancy just had but how would you like it an epidural this time
J= I think you should do it so it can give your body a break but if you don't want to that is totally fine with me I'll support you either way
E= you know what I think I'll get it this time since I feel I need a little break for one
NM= oh, I I'll go put in an order with the anesthesiologist
J= all right thank you
NM= it's no problem
CW= wow so it's happening fast we are getting close to meeting our kids
TC= I know super excited
E= I can't wait for you guys to meet them

In about an hour I get the epidural in and it made me feel so much more relaxed enough that I was able to get an hour cat nap but when I woke up, I felt so much pressure so jay went and got Natalie for me

NM= so Erin Jay told me you are having some pressure down there
E= oh yeah
NM= ( she checks ) well Erin I'm happy to tell you that it is trying to push these babies out of you
E= oh really
TC= wow it's happening
CW= I can't wait to see them
J= she progressed a lot faster this time
NM= oh yeah, it happens when you get an epidural it makes things go way faster
E= I guess so
TC= I can't wait to see my kids be born
CW= me too it's finally happening
NM= I hate to be mean doctor here, but we have a policy hear that the labor in person can only have two support persons with her so one of you have to leave before she starts to push
E= wait really Natalie
NM= yeah I wish that wasn't our policy but it is
E= but Natalie, they are the parents to be not me and Jay can't you make an exception for this situation?
NM= yeah I got that but this is the rules. I wish I could be something different but here we are.
CW= we completely understand
TC= yes we do
NM= all right I'll get you all ready to push while you guys decide who will stay in who will go
J= all right ( she leaves)
E= oh man this sucks
J= so maybe I'll leave so that you guys can be here when the babies are
TC= no way Jay my sister need you more than then she needs us during the time like this
CW= oh yeah and since I don't really know Erin that well, I will leave and let you watch. Our kids come into this world babe.
TC= wait are you sure?
CW= yes I sure if we have any other kids in the future I'll see them before no matter what
TC= all right thank you ( kiss )
E= yeah thank you Carson. I wish you could be in here when they are born too
CW= it's totally OK
J= how about this teddy? You FaceTime him while the kids are being born so you can still be here when they are here
TC= yeah, that could work
CW= all right then I'll be in the waiting room until the kids are here
E= all right ( Carson leaves )
NM= so I'm guessing you guys made a choice
TC= yes we did
NM= good, so are you ready to push
E= oh yes, I am
NM= that's great, so I got a quick question for Erin before you push
E= all right what's up
NM= so I know these babies are Teddy in Carson's kids but since you are the one that carries them for nine months, would you like to hold them when they are born or would you like me to just hand them off to Teddy
E= I'm not sure I should hold them
TC= Erin it's totally fine if you want to hold them they are your nieces and nephews so it's totally fine with me if you wanted to hold him just for a few
J= yeah you should
E= all right I'll hold them for a few quick second
NM= all right so when you're ready, start pushing
E= all right here comes the contraction
J= do you think babe ( kiss her forehead)

Everyone starts counting down why I push with all my might within five minutes

NM= and the first baby out and it's a girl
E= hey pretty girl I'm your aunt Erin also your godmother
J= hey sweetheart I'm your uncle Jay and your godfather
E= and now here is your father, Teddy
TC= hey baby girl me and your other daddy or so happy you're here finally

Teddy. Vons of his little girl for about five minutes.

E= OK it's time to push again
NM= all right you know what to do
J= you got this babe

Over the next five minutes I do what I need to do and then the baby is born

NM= and the baby is out and it's a boy
TC= wow to go Erin
J= it's over you did good babe

We say hello to her nephew/godson and then we hand them off to Teddy the nurse, then decide to bring Teddy and the kids into a different room so Carson can meet them while they clean me up once they were done cleaning me up Natalie and the nurses leave me and Jay alone for a while

E= wow this journeys over with already it seems like it went by fast
J= well you did a really good thing for your brother Erin and besides, it only went by fast, was because of all the fun we had in the last few months
E= oh yeah, why does it feel weird right now?
J= because normally, at this point, we would be holding a little baby but not this time
E= oh yeah
J= so how are you feeling now that it's been about two hours since you had the babies
E= so far so good I think it will hit me once I get home and I don't have a baby in my arms to take care of
J= oh yeah
CW= knock knock can we come in?
E= of course
J= so how is it dad and dad
TC= it's been pretty great
CW= they are such angels already
TC= oh yeah
J= you guys just wait until they are crying and screaming in the middle of the night
CW= oh, we will
E= so do my niece and nephew have a name yet
TC= yes they do
J= OK so what are they?
CW= well we didn't figure out the twins names until they were born
TC= naming kids are hard
E= oh yes they are
CW= so we figured out our little boys name first do you remember Teddy's friend Kaitlyn and her husband Lucas
J= oh, yeah, they were at your gender reveal
TC= yes they were
CW= so our little boy is named after Lucas, erin and jay I would like you to meet your nephew, Luca Malachi west weighting 6 lbs. 5 oz.
E= Luca I love that name
J= same here
TC= so for our little girl, the first name was easy, but the middle name we couldn't agree on
CW= middle names are just as hard as the first
E= oh yes they are
CW= so we decided just to have her have two middle names
J= to make her more special
TC= oh yeah so Erin and jay meet your niece, Lydia, Jane Lindsay West
E= wait no way you named your daughter after me I might cry
J= those are really great names guys
CW= why thank you
E= Luca and Lydia are some special kids and lucky kids to be raised by you guys
J= oh yeah, and I bet they will be each other's best friends
TC= oh yes they will

We hang out with Teddy in Carson for a little bit but then they go enjoy the new life as a family I get discharge the next morning to go see my kids in love on them. I'm so happy this journey is over with and my brother in Carson transparence parenthood, which is a greatest gift on earth.
