Bowser carried Luigi back up the stairs and back into the room Luigi had woken up in. Bowser gently put Luigi down on the bed, "You okay Greenie?" Bowser asked, Luigi could only nod, still processing the fact that Bowser somehow hadn't torn him to shreds yet, Bowser shut the bedroom door and walked over to the side of the bed, "Do you need any pain meds plumber?" "You were struggling to walk by yourself earlier" Bowser said, "Uh, pain meds?" "Yeah that would be great, it hurts just to move my right leg." Luigi explained, Bowser nodded understandingly, "I see." "Stay here, I'll get you the pain meds." Bowser said, the koopa king then left the room.
A few minutes later, Bowser returned with a bottle of pain meds and gave them to Luigi. After Luigi took the pain meds, they started to work really quickly as Luigi could feel the pain in his right leg going away. "Wow, that stuff works fast..." "Thank you." Luigi said, "Whatever you say, green mario." "Just stay put and rest." Bowser said to Luigi before beginning to leave the room, "Bowser, wait!" Luigi suddenly cried out, making Bowser stop in his tracks and turn around. "Bowser, why did you save me?" Luigi asked, making eye contact with Bowser. Bowser's eyes looked away from Luigi, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I mean, I'm not complaining, not at all!" "It's just that...you've been so kind to me, even though I haven't done anything to deserve your kindness..." Luigi asked, looking down in shame and twiddling his thumbs. Bowser let out a little sigh and walked over to the side of the bed. "You want to know why I saved you plumber?" "I did it because I felt bad for you, and yes, I can feel things." "I might be a monster and a villain, but i couldn't just stand there and let someone get hurt when i could've stepped in and helped." Bowser explained, the koopa king saw the humans eyes light up with some kind of spark, Luigi smiled softly, "I see, thank you Bowser." Luigi said,"If you need anything, I'll get some of my servants to attend to you." "Rest well." Bowser said to Luigi before turning and leaving the room.
Luigi laid down on the bed and turned over on his side, facing the wall of the bedroom. He wasn't sleepy, though. He was thinking, thinking about Bowser, and about what he had said. Bowser hadn't saved him for his own personal benefit, he had saved him out of pure kindness, or so he said. Luigi didn't fully believe that Bowser had saved him out of pure kindness but a part of him deep down wanted to. Luigi yawned a few times before falling asleep out of boredom.
*A few hours later*
"Is he dead?"
"What, no!" "He's just sleeping, Papa said so.''
"Are you sure?" "He seems pretty dead to me."
No he's not!" "I'll prove it, watch!"
The sound of little voices and his face and nose being poked and prodded made Luigi stir, groggily opening his eyes. Luigi could make out Iggy Koopa and Bowser Jr. standing at the green plumbers bedside, Bowser Jr. was poking all over Luigi's face and booping his nose, Luigi let out a little annoyed hum, putting a hand up to shield his face from any more poking. "Ugh...I'm awake...I'm awake..." Luigi groaned sleepily, rubbing sleep from his eyes as he pulled himself into an upright sitting position on the bed. "Hah!" "Told you he wasn't dead!" Bowser Jr. proclaimed to Iggy, puffing out his chest proudly. "Maybe he isn't dead, but he'll certainly be grumpy after you woke him up." Iggy sarcastically snapped back, Bowser Jr. huffed in frustration, about to start a squabble with Iggy when Luigi's found himself talking to the two kids. "It's okay, im not grumpy you woke me up." Luigi found himself explaining to the duo, "Your not mad?" "Really?" Iggy asked and Luigi nodded. "Yeah, im not mad." "Uh, what are you guys doing here?" Luigi asked.
"I was just about to ask the same question." Bowser's voice rang out into the room, all three of them turned to see Bowser standing in the bedroom of the doorway, a disapproving look on his face directed at the two koopa children. "Didn't i tell you kids not to interupt Green Stache while he was resting?" Bowser asked sternly, his arms crossed as he stepped towards his kids, "Yes Papa...we're sorry Papa..." Both boys mumbled out reluctantly, hanging their heads in shame. "Er-Its okay Bowser, i dont mind them being here." Luigi found himself saying, causing Bowser Jr. and Iggy to immediately perk up and Bowser to turn to Luigi with a surprised look on his face, "You really dont mind them being here?" Bowser asked, "No, i dont." "They can stay with me, if it's okay with you, of course." Luigi said, Bowser turned back to the two kids, before letting out a sigh, "Alright then, Iggy, Junior, you can stay if you want." "Play nice with him, alright?" Bowser said, both kids nodded up and down excitedly while hopping up and down on the spot, "Yes papa!" "We'll play nice, we promise!" both Bowser Jr. and Iggy promised in union, "Alright then, I'll leave you kids to play." "Have fun." Bowser said before leaving the room and leaving Luigi with Bowser Jr. and Iggy Koopa.
Iggy and Bowser Jr. wasted no time hopping up on the bed next to Luigi, both boys being careful to mind Luigi's injured leg. The two boys wasted no time bombarding Luigi with questions, mostly questions about Mario and what Mario was like, "What's Mario like when he's mad?" "Who do you thinks better, Bowser or Mario?" "How does Mario handle all the lava around Bowser's Castle?" The boy's would ask, along with many, many more questions, all of which Luigi tried his best to answer. After about 20 minutes of questions, Iggy Koopa and Bowser Jr. left Luigi alone to his own devices. "Bowser's kids...they aren't that bad..." Luigi thought to himself.
