It had been about 4-5 days since Luigi had found himself in Bowser's castle, the green plumber had been resting and staying in bed for those 4-5 days. But now his leg was healed and he could walk around without being in pain, Luigi was grateful to be able to walk around now and he was currently going on a small walk through Bowser's castle. "It's so nice to be able to walk around without pain, I'm never my legs for granted ever again." Luigi thought to himself, Bowser's castle was a lot bigger on the inside, Luigi always thought that Bowser's castle was small from the outposts that he and his brother had always run through in the past but no, Bowser's castle was pretty big.
Luigi turned a corner and started walking down a long hallway, admiring the various paintings on the walls. Most of them were of Bowser looking furious and spitting fireballs from his mouth, although a few paintings were of Kamek and Bowser together. Now that he thought about it, Luigi didn't really know that much about Kamek, he knew that Kamek was Bowser's advisor and that Bowser respected Kamek and even listened to him to a certain extent. Luigi had reached the end of the hallway, so he turned and went back up the hallway. Luigi kept walking throughout the castle until he reached a massive courtyard, it was at least 30 ft wide and 30 ft tall and the ground of the courtyard was made of brimstone, at the north end were some targets, upon Luigi walking up to the targets he saw that the targets looked like they had been used for target practice. "Hey!" "Stop right there!" Two unfamiliar voices caused Luigi to spin around, two Koopa Troopa guards were standing at the other end of the courtyard, spears at the ready.
Before Luigi could do anything, the two Koopa Troopa guards raised their spears and charged at Luigi, the green plumber sprinted away from the guards but he didn't get far as he tripped over his own feet and fell on his face. Luigi threw his arms over his head and squeezed his eyes shut and braced for pain but nothing happened. Luigi opened his eyes to see Bowser's massive scaly body in front of him, Bowser was standing between Luigi and the two Koopa Troopa guards, soft growls coming from the koopa king and smoke lazily pouring from his clenched jaws. "What did I tell you?" Bowser growled at the terrified Koopa Troopa guards, "I told you that green stache here is a guest in my castle, and in my castle he WONT. BE. HARMED." "Understood?" Bowser snarled at the guards, his tone of voice lowering and becoming much more terrifying with the last four words he spoke, "Y-yes Lord Bowser..we understand..." The Koopa Troopa guards whimpered in unison, before scrambling away from Bowser and sprinting out of the courtyard as fast as their legs could take them. Bowser turned around to face Luigi, Bowser looming over the human, Luigi looked like a tiny bug compared to Bowser.
Luigi felt his body instinctively curl up like a kitten as he looked up to lock eye's with Bowser, Luigi's baby blue eyes meeting Bowser's crimson red eyes. Bowser reached out a massive hand towards Luigi, "You okay plumber?" Bowser asked, Luigi took Bowser's hand and Bowser helped Luigi to his feet, "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for helping me back there." Luigi said, a nervous smile tugging at his lips. Bowser looked around the courtyard, scanning the area before turning back to Luigi, "You look like you need an escort green stache." "Would you mind?" Luigi was confused, "What are trying to say?" Luigi asked, Bowser let out a soft chuckle, a entertained smile making it's way onto his face. "Heh, I'm asking if you want me to escort you around the castle." Bowser explained, Luigi was shocked, Bowser wanted to walk him, of all people, around his own castle?! "Really?" "I-I would be flattered to let you escort me around the castle!" Luigi grinned, and Bowser proceeded to give Luigi a guided tour around Bowser's castle, showing off all the luxurious rooms and all the bubbling lava pits, before walking Luigi back to his room.
"Thanks for the tour, Bowser!" Luigi said, "No problem green mario." Bowser replied, before both went their separate ways, Luigi went back inside his room and Bowser went to Kamek's office, Kamek was behind his desk mixing coloured magical vials together. "What's wrong Bowser?" "You seem to have something on your mind." Kamek said, not even looking up from his work, Bowser crossed his arms with a pout on his face, "I could've let the plumber get hurt...but I didn't." "I've... I've never felt that sudden urge to protect anyone that intensely except for the kids." Bowser thought out loud, that caused Kamek to raise an eyebrow, looking up from his potions and standing up from his desk. "You're becoming emotionally attached to him, perhaps a bond is forming between you two?" Kamek explained, much to Bowser's surprise, "A bond?!" "But-but he's the brother of my enemy?" "How can I possibly start to care about him?" Bowser asked, Kamek smirked cheekily at Bowser, "You already are starting to care for him, Bowser." Bowser let out a little embarrassed huff, Kamek was the only person who could read him like a book and Bowser knew it. "I suppose." Bowser grumbled.
