RWBY: The Verdant Light of Remnant

Chapter 7: The Burdens of a Princess

Author's notes: & Here we are, the Weiss chapter that i LOATHE so much in canon due to showing V1 Weiss at her worse, hopefully i managed to do something more tolerable this time around cause goodness gracious, writing a character like Weiss IS A FOCKING NIGHTMARE & A HALF! Now we're going to begin these notes with something different, i'm actually going to DIRECTLY answer people here, specifically 2 comments over Fanfiction . net.

First is from Darknaru3 who mentions a great point that i didn't notice prior. They said that not only is Nora a better candidate for The Fall Maiden than Pyrrha since she can isolate herself FAR more easily would have Ren as her guardian, but also because she can boost her Semblance with her own magic. That is something i haven't thought of prior & it would DEFINITELY give Nora a MASSIVE boost in power, so thank you Darknaru3.

The other one i wanna discuss is from AK632612. They mentioned how Byleth demonstrated her Crest back at C6 against Pyrrha thinking that i indirectly gave Byleth Maiden Magic, but no. This is just a better way to VISUALLY represent the power of a Crest. There aren't any cutscenes that show Byleth using The Crest of Flames at its fullest extend & the ingame mechanics & visual presentation are kinda limited, so i decided to visually demonstrate it better & since RWBY focuses alot (& i mean ALOT) on Eyes & their meaning, i thought that having Byleth's eyes flame on whenever she uses her Crest would be fitting.

On that note, to those who want Maiden Byleth or Maiden Sothis... Not happeneing, sorry guys. That would make them too OP & That's also why i removed their ability to rewind time for a brief moment, cause it's too overpowered & can even take the tension away at times. So when Byleth & Sothis get their Semblances, it WON'T be Divine Pulse, sorry guys. AK also mentioned about making a foil to Sothis with a supposed Dark Goddess that would be a reflection on Sothis... Ok, incase this wasn't obvious, The Dark Goddess here on Remnant is Salem, WHO FOCKING ELSE WOULD IT BE?! That being said, i'm basically writing this as i go along, but i DO have some plans for Sothis, making a foil for her is DEFINITELY interesting, so i'll take that into consideration & as always.

The first day of Teams RWBY & JNPR in Beacon Academy was quite eventful; despite not having any classes that day, things weren't so simple. It started out as a simple meeting between new friends in The Dining Hall, until Ozpin called them to have Byleth & Pyrrha fight in a duel. Despite Pyrrha's best efforts, she was no match for The Ashen Demon & after a lot of struggling, she was ultimately defeated. Despite the loss, Pyrrha didn't took the defeat in bad faith & Byleth praised her for her great conviction & dedication to her dream, telling her that she'll one day make it a reality if she never stops fighting.

Weiss however kept her distance from the team at all times, never interacting with them for very long & then leaving to train all by herself. Little did she know that the day where her limits would be pushed would come so soon. Once Monday came along, the teams all rest up for their REAL first day of classes, since they aren't obligated to wear uniforms on Sundays, so some people (Blake) didn't wear it that day… But in class days, they kinda HAVE to wear it &-… Well, some are more unpleased than others.

Blake: Oh, HELL NO! There's no way in HELL I'm wearing this!

Blake was currently in the bathroom changing into her Beacon Uniform & needless to say, she hates it. The red skirt was far too short & Blake doesn't like revealing her legs & thighs very often, Ruby & Yang are talking to Blake from the other side of the room.

Ruby: Uh, Blake? What's the problem?

Blake: THIS SKIRT IS THE PROBLEM! I hate wearing dresses & skirts, even more so if they're this damn small! I don't like revealing my legs…

Ruby: Oh, come on Blake. Lighten up a little, they're not so bad.

Blake: Maybe for you since you're used to wearing something this revolting, but I for one am not willing to throw away my dignity, thank you very much!

Yang: *Sighs* Look Blake, I don't like skirts either, I much rather wear pants or shorts. But we can't just wear whatever we want in class… & Besides, these aren't so bad, at least they're comfortable; now get your edgy butt out of that bathroom & put on that tiny mini-skirt so we don't get late for our first day!

Blake: *Sighs in defeat* Fine!...

After a minute or 2, Blake comes out in the Beacon Uniform. It consists of a Yellow Blazer with a white buttoned shirt that you usually wear underneath suits, she's still wearing her zori as footwear & have a few of her white tapes wrapped around her ankles since Blake doesn't use or own any socks, meaning that her legs are fully exposed. Blake wasn't wrong when she said that the red mini-skirt was very short, it just barely passes through your hips, why don't they have knee level skirts? Or better yet, have the option to not WEAR a skirt at all? Blake REALLY hated this, but she doesn't have much choice. At least she can keep her secret by having her red bandana tied on the top of her head. When Blake opens her eyes, she noticed that Ruby just gives her a thumbs-up while Yang looks away blushing. Speaking of uniforms, both Rose Xiao-Long Sisters have their own spin on their Beacon Uniforms; Ruby still has her hood on, while Yang has her scarf.

Blake: *Blushes madly* {Damn you, Ozpin... I'm gonna make you pay for this…} *Looks at Ruby* So, what classes are we having today?

Ruby: Good question, let me check.

Ruby takes out a sheet of paper which lists the classes they have & as they do, they're completely oblivious to the fact that Weiss is still asleep despite being 8:15 AM now.

Weiss is currently having a dream about a memory of her past, back when she was a small 11-year-old child training under her Grandfather: Nicholas Schnee II, The Atlesian Emperor & The Head of the S.D.C. They're currently practicing swordplay, mainly fencing since that's Weiss' sword-style. She keeps thrusting her grandfather, but he dodges every strike until he eventually parries then next attack, pushes Weiss away & fall to the ground. Nicholas II then stands his ground while having a fond smile on his face while training Weiss, Nicholas was as great of a grandfather as he is a great, yet tough teacher.

Nicholas II: What's wrong, Weiss? Ya done already?

Weiss slowly gets up & wipes out her sweat, she looks at her grandfather confidently before taking hold of her practice rapier & charging at him.

Weiss: Not even close!

Weiss begins another round of thrusting in the hopes of landing a hit at her grandfather; as they were practicing, they hear a younger Gayelette coming alongside someone else. This looks like an older version of Weiss, but more beautiful, wearing an Atlas Academy uniform which consists of navy-blue jacket & knee level skirt, as well as white tights. This young lady also had her hair tied in a bun not so different from Glynda, this is Winter Schnee, the eldest granddaughter of Nicholas Schnee II. She's approximately 5-6 years older than Weiss & has recently enrolled at Atlas Academy, she's also the Crown Imperial Princess of The Atlesian Empire due to Nicholas refusing to let her son-in-law taking the throne & for good reason; because of that, Nicholas' own daughter: Willow Schnee, never became The Imperial Empress. But Willow doesn't mind; as long as Jacques isn't the Emperor, she's going to alright… Hopefully… Gayelette goes over to Nicholas & Weiss practicing, catching the attention of the former.

Gayelette: Hey, Uncle Nicholas!

Nicholas II: Ah, Gayelette, Winter, you've come!

As Nicholas greets both his Eldest Granddaughter & Godchild, Weiss takes this very brief opportunity to attack her Grandfather from behind; only for him to summon a large Glyph between them & make Weiss charge head-first into the Glyph. You can't fool your old man like that, especially if he's such a skilled warrior. Gayelette goes to check on the now fallen Weiss as Winter just sighs in disappointment while facepalming.

Gayelette: Oh no, Weiss!

Winter: *Sighs* Honestly, did you seriously believe that would work on him?

Nicholas II: Hahahahahah! Sorry there, Weiss. But I'm so used to people attacking me from behind that I defend myself on pure instinct.

Weiss gets up with Gayelette's help, both bumped out that she lost another sparring match, especially in such a half-ass way like this one.

Weiss: Ow~… Grandfather, that's not fair! You used your Glyphs to trip me up!

Gayelette: Come on, Weiss. You'll get him next time… Maybe…

Weiss just looks away pouting while Nicholas softly ruffles her short white hair a little bit, which made her feel a little better.

Nicholas II: You're correct, my dear. My apologies, but you're certainly improving! Only a year has passed since you started your fencing lessons & you're already very skilled, I'm very proud of you, Weiss!

Weiss: *Blushes* Thank you, Grandfather. That said, I still have a lot to learn before I become a powerful Huntress like you.

Nicholas pulls his granddaughter in a soft, yet warm embrace while congratulating her.

Nicholas II: Hahahahahah! That's the spirit, my girl! Now then… *Looks at her eldest Granddaughter* Winter, what brings you here?

Winter: I just received some reports regarding The White Fang. It seems that their leader wishes to speak to the leaders around the world about improving the lives for the Faunus & make Remnant a little more equal, are you willing to answer his pleas? You do know how The Atlesian Empire despises the "Sub-humans" as they call them, correct?

Nicholas II: Yes, I'm very aware of that; especially from The Atlesian Nobility. However, I myself would like to improve Faunus rights myself, especially in my own land. If their leader wishes to see me & discuss these matters in person, then I shall answer him the moment I have the chance. Thank you for your report, Winter.

Winter: It is the least I can do for you, Your Majesty.

Nicholas II: *Chuckles lightly* I swear, you can't even drop the formalities around your own family, can you?

Winter: I am now amongst the many fortunate individuals who are destined to become knights that will serve under your great rule, I believe that some formalities towards my Emperor are necessary now that I'm training under Fleet General Ironwood.

Nicholas II: Ah, that James… I can never get that twisted sense of right & wrong of his out of his thick head; but I can least trust him to watch over my Eldest Granddaughter now that she's on the path of becoming a fine young woman. *Looks at Gayelette* What about you, Gayelette? Are you & Lady Glynda doing well?

Gayelette: Yes, thanks to you. I've never seen Mother this happy in a long time, she's even starting to make some new friends & helping some people down at Mantle as well.

Nicholas II: I see, those are wonderful news indeed. I'm so glad to see you smiling as well, Gayelette... Actually, weren't you aiding Dr. Polendina on some "Project" he started working on recently?

Gayelette: *Nods* He doesn't have a name for it yet, but Dr. Polendina appears to be making something that can connect people to one another, I cannot wait to see the final results once its finally finished.

Nicholas II: Neither do I, I'm sure that- Argh!

Weiss: GRANDFATHER!

Nicholas feels a sudden ache on his chest & places a hand on it while falling down to his knees with both his Granddaughters & Godchild going over to him, seeing if he's alright.

Cut back to present day where Weiss gets a not so friendly wake-up call by literally being pulled out of her bed by Blake.

Blake: Get the hell up, Atlesian!

Weiss: OW!

The girls tried to wake her up, but Weiss was sound asleep, mainly because she stayed up late practicing her summoning once again yesterday after Dinner. Yang suggests waking her up with her whistle, but Ruby immediately rejects the idea since waking up because of a whistle sucks; their Father & especially their Uncle did that whenever they were going to train. Blake decided to take the bold approach & just pull the sleeping beauty out of her bed, making her fall & hit hard on the floor. Good thing Weiss' bunk is the bottom instead of the top, otherwise it'd be a worse fall for her. Weiss slowly gets up & is understandably & justifying enraged at Blake for doing that.

Weiss: What in the bloody hell is wrong with you, you hat-wearing pest?! Why did you wake me up in such an aggressive & repulsive way such as this?!

Blake: Because we only have 30 minutes left for our first class & you were laying your lazy ass on the bed for far too long for my taste. *Looks away & crosses her arms* here I thought you were one to follow the rules.

Weiss: I beg your pardon?!

That's when Ruby steps in between the young Ronin & the Heiress to stop them from escalating this argument into a full-on fight & make this situation even worse.

Ruby: Alright, drop it! Look, we can deal with this later, but let's just get ourselves ready. This is our first day in class & I really don't wanna get us into trouble already!

Blake turns away huffing with her arms crossed while Weiss does the same, except that she adjusts her hair instead of crossing her arms.

Weiss: Very well, I will take fault for oversleeping, I'm not usually one to do that. So if you 3 could excuse me, I'll take a quick shower & get dressed, it shouldn't take me long.

Weiss grabs her towel & her uniform & heads inside their Dorm's bathroom to take a brief good morning shower, that's when Yang comments on Blake's attempt on waking up Weiss & how aggressive it was.

Yang: Not gonna lie, that was really uncool of you.

Blake: *Shrugs* So what? She had it coming, I won't be held back by someone who can't even keep their sleep schedule consistent.

Ruby: Still, you didn't have to pull her out of her bed & make her fall down to the floor!

Blake: She's an Atlesian Scum, people like her are why the world is in this state of chaos.

Blake then takes her school bag & starts heading towards the door.

Blake: I'll be going on ahead, I've wasted enough of my time already.

Blake leaves while shutting the door pretty hard, Yang can tell that this has something to do with her quest for revenge for that "Atlesian Military Commander" that took away someone dear to her, but she won't bother her about it just yet. Unknown to them, Weiss was hearing their conversation while taking her shower; mainly Blake's little "Atlesian Scum" comment.

Weiss: "Atlesian Scum", huh? I'll keep my eye on you, Ronin…

Weiss just keeps washing her hair while having deep thoughts in her mind, the showers of Beacon Academy are really good, you don't need so many adjustments to make them relaxing like in The Atlesian Empire where it's very cold.

Cut to The Eisner Sisters where they were walking through the streets of The Kingdom Capital of Vale, they're heading back to Beacon Academy after some much-needed wardrobe shopping. With Sothis in particular sporing a new look; she still has her long pig-tailed emerald green hair, but the hair-ties that were holding the pigtails are now a pair of nice red bows. As for her the new clothes she's now wearing, a purple jacket with a hoodie that she leaves it open to expose her black shirt with a Crest of Flames symbol appearing on the center; combined with a cute, frilly purple mini-skirt, thigh high white stockings to match her Big Sister's black stockings & red shoes; she's still wearing her golden tiara. Byleth however is just wearing her teacher uniform since she has class with her new students today, while smiling down at Sothis who's very cheerful today.

Sothis: Hahahah, I feel much better now! Eating delicious food, feeling the air around me & now trying on new clothes? I cannot believe I have missed out on so much!

Byleth: Well, someone's liking her new clothes. It was nice to have The Headmaster let us buy ourselves some new stuff on his treat, I'm certainly looking forward to trying these out as well. I just wish that some clothing around here wasn't so- revealing…

Sothis: Yeah, this world seems to be full of perverts & ladies' men like Sylvain & Lorenz, I also heard that they have these "Beach parties" every now & then where everyone wears these "Swimsuits", but it does sound fun to relax in the coasts every now & then.

Byleth: Yeah, I've heard of that… *Chuckles* I still remember how Edelgard didn't know how to swim & trying her best to hide that fact, that was really adorable.

As Byleth remembers Edelgard, she also remembers the fact that she was The Flame Emperor & how she set Fódlan into another chaos of war, which saddens The Ashen Demon a little bit.

Byleth: I still can't believe it… Even now, it hurts to see that The Flame Emperor… was one of us this whole time, I still wanna know why Edelgard did what she did…

Sothis: Yeah, I wasn't there to see it for myself… But I could feel it through you back there, & Now, Fódlan is in a state of war… I have faith in those brats of ours, but-…

Byleth: "But we can't help but worry", is that it?... Yeah, I know what you mean. But that aside, let's go back to Beacon Academy now that we've finished what we came here to do; our new students have their first day in class today.

The Eisner Sisters arrive at the airport to take a ship back to Beacon Academy & truly begin their new lives as Teachers of Beacon Academy.

Speaking of classes, we cut back to Beacon Academy where Teams RWBY, JNPR as well as some other students are taking lessons from a large middle-aged man with a red suit, black pants & a wonderful moustache that would make Hanneman very proud. This man is one of the professors of Beacon Academy & one of The 4 Generals of Vale. The Knight General of Vale, known by many as The Kindhearted Beast: Peter Port. He appears to be telling some stories about his past as a Huntsman back when he was still a "young lad" as he puts it… Although, you can't exactly tell if they're true or not due to how he makes them so "Fantastical" so to say.

Port: & There I was! Surrounded by many Beowolves with only myself & my trusty axe to protect myself, while I fight these dangerous dark beasts in the middle of a great thunderstorm, but I was still able to pull through despite my massive disadvantage. Despite being a large pack, they were quite predictable in their patterns of attacking; it wasn't long until I got a good pattern to finally strike them down! Now the reason I'm telling this specific story is to show that when you're in a tough situation like this, you must not yield to the enemy & always adapt whenever possible! For instance, if I didn't have my trusty axe with me that day, I would have to rely on my bare hands & martial arts, as well as use anything that I could use as a weapon in my surroundings; I trust that you youngsters take this lesson well.

Most of the students were kinda bored of Port's ramblings, but Ruby in particular was both listening to it & taking a few notes about it. Port is right, you should always adapt to the situation at hand whenever you can instead of being too reliant on one specific thing, be it your weapon, your Semblance or some other specific abilities that you might have. The other members of Team RWBY were also paying great attention to his stories; even if they were a little too crazy sometimes, they did carry a good moral to take it into their lives as future Pro-Huntresses. That's when Port asks something of his students.

Port: Now then, can one of you describe to me what it means to be a true Huntsmen & Huntress? The required qualities to truly succeed as a powerful warrior of Remnant?

That's when Ruby stops taking notes for a brief moment to answer Port's question.

Ruby: If you ask me, that'd be Willpower; specifically the will to preserve those around you & attempt to create a world where everyone can live as free as they can. Without the willpower or ambition to become stronger for the sake of others, you're not going anywhere in life if you take this path!

Port smiles at Ruby's response, both agreeing & understanding her views on what makes a true Huntress, he then looks at her teammates, motioning them to answer as well. That's when Blake steps in & answers.

Blake: Those who take on the path of a Huntress must understand & bear the burden of the many consequences you'll have in life, people see Huntsmen & Huntresses as the beacons of hope & the ultimate form of justice on Remnant. But the people are wrong, they're no different from any other life form; they make many mistakes & have to learn from said mistakes, just like we have. If you don't learn from your mistakes or accept the many responsibilities that a Huntsman carry, then you might as well be a dead man.

The class stay in complete silence after Blake's view on what Huntsmen should strive to be, even Port is at a loss for words. Although in Blake's defense, she's not exactly wrong; there are many selfish & even cruel Huntsmen & Huntresses around the world & even the morally righteous ones make mistakes, they're men as well after all. That's when Port clears his throat & tries to change the subject.

Port: Ah-hem! Anyways, thank you both for your answers. Now then, to change things up a little bit, let us talk about some of the Grimm that you'll most commonly find during your many travels, shall we?

The class continues as normal as some students (like Ruby) take notes in whatever Port says about the Grimm, how they fight, where they live & the effective methods of cutting them down; like the Boarbatusk, a large boar-like Grimm that can roll like a wheel & move at high speeds, while also having very tough armor & tusks.

Port: So, if you manage to make the Boarbatusk expose its weak spot by making it trip or somehow throwing it to the sky, your victory is sure to be guaranteed by that point. But remember, never underestimate the unpredictability of the Grimm; it could cost you your own life! Now then, before we part ways, could one of you do the honors of doing a "demonstration"?

Ruby looks back up & gives Port a confused look

Ruby: A "demonstration"? A demonstration of what exactly?

Port just smiles under his facial hair as he presses a button on his desk, pulling the wall behind him upwards like opening a medieval gate of sorts to reveal a large Hard-Light Dust cage. Inside that cage there are a few Boarbatusks that are contained in small cages & they look pretty pissed off, the students are shocked that there's a large cage behind Port's writing board, but also that he managed to contain Grimm?! That's insane!

Port: Well, I'm glad you asked. Once a week, I bring over a Grimm for one of you to fight against & have yourselves test your might against them. Since this is your first day in class, I thought that this would serve as a "warm welcoming gift".

Cleary they weren't that big a fan of this, although Blake can't help but get sarcastic.

Blake: Pff, way to welcome us to death, why don't ya?

Port: Ah-hah, if that's the case, why don't y-

Weiss: I'll do it, sir!

Weiss abruptly interrupts Port & stands up with her hand high, he turns his attention to the Atlesian as he was curious to know why did she volunteer just like that.

Port: Weiss Schnee, was it? I certainly commend you for wanting to volunteer, but may I ask why you wish to fight?

Weiss: You asked us before the qualities of what makes a true Huntress, right? I think I would like to show my own answer in battle.

Port: I see… Then go get dressed, I'm looking forward to seeing what you're capable of.

Weiss bows down in respect before getting out of the desk & leaving the classroom, heading for the locker rooms right next to it. Ruby suddenly gets a little worried as she goes after Weiss, Port didn't stop her since he had a feeling this would happen & he felt something off about her new student as well, so she silently let Ruby go of on her own to see if she can talk to Weiss for a moment.

Cut to the locker room where Weiss is putting her dress & combat skirt, adjusting it nicely before picking up her armor; she looks at her armor & remembers how she forged it in memory of her late grandfather. But before she gets a little more emotional, Ruby comes to check on her for a moment.

Ruby: Hey, Weiss!

Weiss turns around to see Ruby coming towards while sighing in slight annoyance, "not this again" she thought to herself.

Weiss: *Sighs* What do you want now?

Ruby: I've come to check on you, I can tell that something isn't right.

Weiss: What are you talking about, I'm perfectly fine!

Ruby: Yeah right, I can tell a lie when I see it. I know that kind of attitude, Weiss; the kind where you have to prove your worth to those around you. That's the issue, right?

Weiss: Hmph! Even if it is, why should that matter to you?

Ruby: Because I'm your teammate, your partner & your leader! If something's wrong with one of you 3, it's my duty as your leader to see what's wrong & try to help you!

Weiss finishes putting her armor & adjusting her red cape before looking back at Ruby.

Weiss: Well, Blake appears to have many problems of her own; so why don't you go & bother her instead of wasting my own time?

Ruby just facepalm while groaning in frustration, feeling like this is going nowhere.

Ruby: Look, I don't know what's wrong with her either & of course I wanna help her too! But she's not exactly approachable, not to mention that whatever issues you may have right now aren't as subtle… So please, just- talk to me!

Weiss notices the expression on Ruby's face & how it became a little sadder & a little bit desperate, even when she's reaching her hand out to her partner. But Weiss doesn't want any of that & just passes through Ruby as if she wasn't even there.

Weiss: There is nothing for us to talk about.

Ruby watches Weiss go & curses herself yet again for failing as a leader.

We cut back to where Weiss has entered the Hard-Light Dust cage on Port's classroom with Myrtenaster in hand, Ruby & Yang try to cheer her on to boost the moral… except for Blake who doesn't even pay attention to the fight, she doesn't care about The Heiress.

Yang: Show those wild boars who's boss, Weiss!

Ruby: You can do it, Partner! *Looks at Blake* Come on, Blake; join in!

Blake: No.

Goddamnit Blake, now's not the time for petty grudges; even Yang joined in & she doesn't like The Heiress either! Weiss doesn't even bother with her teammates; she just huffs & rolls her eyes as Port is ready to open one of the small cages that hold the Boarbatusks captive.

Port: On your marks, get set… & Begin!

Port deactivates one of the cages as the Boarbatusk comes out & spindashes towards Weiss' direction at high speed, but she summons a Glyph to jump high & dodge the incoming attack as she points her rapier while summoning a Glyph on the rapier's tip to summon many small Ice Dust cubes & fire at the Boarbatusk. Once the Heiress landed back to the ground, the Boarbatusk charges towards Weiss; she stops the wild boar from running through her by using her rapier to block the incoming attack. The both of them struggle to keep their ground as they keep pushing one another, but the Boarbatusk's brute strength is too much for Weiss as she's pushed back to a faraway wall & loses her weapon in the process, rendering her weaponless.

Port: Ho-hoh, how will you fight without your weapon?

Weiss isn't too worried as she gets up just in time for the Boarbatusk to spindash at her direction yet again, she then takes out a small dagger with a Thunder Dust infused blade from her belt & waits for the perfect chance to dodge & counter attack. Once her prey gets close enough, she rolls to the side as the Boarbatusk crashes into the wall & exposes its belly; that's when Weiss stabs the wild boar from below its gut & slices the dagger all the way up to its throat, killing it. It's like Port said a few minutes ago, always try to adapt & in Weiss' case, she always carries a small dagger as an extra weapon should she get disarmed from Myrtenaster. The class is rather impressed by that smart play from Weiss, with Port voicing his thoughts on the matter.

Port: Ah, so you carry a smaller weapon just in case, now that's a very smart move!

Weiss then goes to take back Myrtenaster as she gets ready for the next Boarbatusk, only for port to open the last 2 cages at the same time, releasing both Boarbatusks. Wait, what?! She's gonna have to fight 2 of them at once now?

Port: Since you easily dispatched of just one of these black beasts, how about you try taking out 2 of them at once?!

Weiss groans now that she has to fight 2 of these damn boars & although trying to fight one is easy since you can learn their patterns very quickly, the same cannot be said for 2 of them as both Boarbatusks charge towards Weiss at top speed. One charges at her on foot like before & Weiss stops him from running through her with Myrtenaster once again, only for the second one to spindash around Weiss & try to attack her from behind while she's busy holding off the first Boarbatusk.

Weiss takes notices of this & tries to use one of her hands to block the incoming attack, but that action made her lose her grip as the first Boarbatusk overpowers her while the second one spindashes her from behind, with the both of them slamming one another at Weiss & taking out a good chunk of her Aura. The Boarbatusks step back as Weiss falls to the ground looking a little hurt, she was wearing some pretty strong armor & that combined attack still felt like getting hit by a truck. Weiss gets up just in time to dodge another incoming spindash, only to be hit by the other Boarbatusk who attacks her from her right & sends her flying to the Hard-Light Dust shield; this pattern repeats itself a few times & the some of the students are starting to get worried as Weiss gets brutalized by the Boarbatusks, Ruby tries to give some advice to her partner & see if it can help her.

Ruby: Hey, Weiss! Try using your Glyphs to stop the both of them at the same time! Then you can use your dust t-

Weiss: SHUT UP, YOU WORTHLESS PEST! How many times do I have to tell you?! I don't need your bloody help!

Ruby is taken aback by the sudden outburst from Weiss & even looks a little sad, Yang however is pissed that someone just shouted at her Baby Sister like that when she was only trying to help. Weiss looks back at the Boarbatusks taunting her & gets aggressive enough to finally go on the offensive.

She charges at the both of them at the same time, but they block every hit until they both dodge a down thrust from the Heiress. That is until Weiss uses the Dust on Myrtenaster to make the entire floor into ice, rendering the mobility of the Boarbatusks completely as they keep slipping up & having difficulties in standing on their feet. Weiss however is very accustomed to fight on icy floors, since she practiced ice skating in her fighting style. She dances around the battlefield & summons a Black Glyph under one of the Boarbatusks & pushes him upwards, exposing its weak spot for a brief moment; but that brief moment is all Weiss needed to finish one of her preys off by summoning a Glyph from the tip of her rapier yet again & shoot Fire Dust balls at the beast's belly, which burns into ash.

She turns her attention to the second Boarbatusk & skates towards its direction; unlike before, her strikes are effective now that she can hit the Boarbatusk's legs & make it trip until it lands on its back, with Weiss wasting no time to thrust her rapier at the Boarbatusk's stomach & killing it. Once Weiss can finally catch her breath, the Ice Dust floor shatters & goes back to normal, Dust do not have permanent AoE (Area of Effect) & can only last for a short amount of time. The class stays silent until Port breaks the silence by congratulating Weiss as she leaves the cage.

Port: Bravo, Ms. Schnee! Now that was quite the spectacular comeback! I can clearly see the makings of a true warrior within you, young lady! Wonderful job!

Weiss doesn't pay attention as she just leaves the classroom after packing up her stuff, Port wonders why Weiss seems so upset despite the fact that she passed his test. Ruby tries to go after her, but Port stops her this time around.

Port: Wait, Ms. Rose! Give the girl some time for herself for a moment, trying to talk it out won't do any good at the moment.

Ruby looks down & sighs in defeat, knowing that Port was right. Yang lays a comforting hand on her sister's shoulder as the school bell rings.

Port: I'm afraid that this is all of the time we have for today, remember to cover your given assignments & I wish you all the best of luck, you're all dismissed!

The students all pack their things & begin to leave the classroom, with Ruby getting more & more frustrated with the situation at hand.

Cut to later in lunch break where Teams JNPR & RWBY are having lunch, despite Weiss not being there with them at the moment. Although they can at least bond with each other a little bit, mainly on how Blake makes such incredible tea.

Ren: Hmm, I don't recall ever drinking such incredible tea.

Blake: It's a hobby of mine, I pick my own tea leaves & brew the tea myself.

Pyrrha: Well, I can safely say that you do a wonderful job.

Blake doesn't respond other than having a faint smile on her face as she keeps taking sips of her own cup of tea, although Ruby isn't eating like she normally does & both her sister & fellow leader: Jaune take notice of that.

Jaune: Hey, Rubes? Ya doing okay?

Ruby: *Sighs* I'm trying to…

Ruby eats her lunch like a normal person & Yang knows that whenever that happens with anyone on the family (including herself) something's wrong, Yang tries to comfort & talk with her sister; knowing exactly what's wrong.

Yang: Ruby, ya'know that Weiss' horrible behavior isn't your fault, right?

Ruby: Of course I know that! but I still feel bad for not being able to help her when she's clearly troubled about something, she seems more hostile than usual & that's saying something considering how mean she can be…

Jaune: I mean, have you thought of how she might've been raised back in The Atlesian Empire? I've never been in that place myself, but I can tell just by looking that it demands perfection in everything.

Ruby thinks for a moment about what Jaune just said, Weiss does seem to be the kind of person who'd be a perfectionist, she has shown many signs of that already. Mainly about her superiority complex & her supposed "destined greatness" that she told her about yesterday, but Ruby doesn't get to answer Jaune as they're interrupted by someone with an Australian Accent.

Newcomer: Excuse me, may I sit with you guys? There aren't any seats left.

Ruby turns around & sees the new girl in The Dining Hall, she's a Faunus; a Rabbit Faunus at that. She has long, smooth chocolate brown hair with large & very adorable rabbit ears that are on the top of her head with matching Brown eyes; she appears to be 168 Cm tall, so just a little shorter than Blake. This wonderful ray of sunshine smiles at the group happily as she asks for some space, with Ruby kindly giving her said space.

Ruby: Huh? Oh sure, we don't mind. Right guys?

Yang: Yeah, go ahead.

Pyrrha: "The more, the merrier" as they say.

The Rabbit Faunus sits down next to Ruby & puts her food down, a bowl of carrot stew with a plate of brownies, "She has good taste" Ruby thought to herself. The girl then introduces herself before eating.

Velvet: My name is "Velvet Scarlatina" & I'm a second-year student here at Beacon Academy, it's a pleasure to meet you all.

Ruby: You're a second year? That's pretty cool! But where are your teammates?

Velvet: They had some business to deal with elsewhere & are a little too busy at the moment, but who knows? Maybe I can introduce you guys to them when we're all back together again! You guys were the ones who passed through The Trials of Emerald Valley & took out a Nevermore & a Deathstalker, correct?

Yang: Uh~, yeah! We are, how did you know about that?

Velvet: Don't you know? The Trials of Emerald are always broadcasted to the entire school whenever we get potential students.

Teams RWBY & JNPR are in shock at this revelation, their test was broadcasted?! Man, that sucks! Jaune in particular feels very embarrassed by the fact that his lack of actual competence was displayed in the big screen, this is such bullshit! Ruby however doesn't mind; she's never been one to care all that much about her public image.

Ruby: Oh, I see. So I guess we don't even need to introduce ourselves since you probably know our names, right?

Velvet: *Nods* I know that you're Ruby, the one on your right is your Sister: Yang, the one on her own right is her partner: Blake & I pretty much know the 4 of you as well.

Jaune: *Blushes madly* I- I see… *Looks down defeated* Gods above, please help me…

Velvet notices the defeatist attitude of Jaune & voices her curiosity & concern.

Velvet: Is something the matter?

Jaune: Nope! Everything is fine~!

Pyrrha just laughs awkwardly as she puts her partner on the back, with Nora giggling at how the 2 act so cute together & Ren just facepalming while rolling his eyes. Velvet chuckles as well before noticing Ruby's expression, that's when she noticed that Weiss wasn't there with them.

Velvet: Say, Ruby? Wasn't there someone else on your team? Where is she?

Before Ruby could pay attention to Velvet, Blake answers her question in quite the brutally honest fashion.

Blake: You mean the Atlesian Scumbag? She stormed out without saying a word after getting her ass handed by a couple of wild boars.

Velvet: Pardon?

Pyrrha: BLAKE!

Even if it was true, Pyrrha still didn't approve of how Blake spoke of her teammate like that, to the point of calling Weiss "An Atlesian Scumbag". Blake didn't bother to take notice of Pyrrha's disapprovingly angry look she's giving her & just shrugs it off while eating her bowl of ramen, Ruby then sighs as she explains the situation.

Ruby: What Blake was trying to say is that Weiss is having a bit of a rough day & I'm having some trouble talking things out with her to see what's wrong… With next to no success, unfortunately.

Velvet: I see, I'm sorry about that. But it's your first day in class as a team, so it shouldn't stay like that for long. I would know, my team was a bit of a mess back when we first started our path as well.

Ruby: Really?

Velvet: Of course, having a rough start is actually pretty common, but we managed to pull through & now we see each other as family.

Yang: "Family", huh? That sounds really nice, I'd like to meet them when I get the chance.

Velvet: Oh, I'm sure you'd get along really well!... That said, I should warn you about my leader: Coco Adel… She's- a bit of a "skirt chaser"… Oh, but she's a really good person deep down & a great leader as well!

Ruby: What's a "skirt chaser"?

Ruby is as much of a speed demon & Grimm slayer as she is an innocent ray of sunshine given that she knows next to nothing of romance & the cruelties of perverts, both Yang & Pyrrha immediately try to protect her innocence while blushing madly.

Yang & Pyrrha: YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW!

Velvet laughs awkwardly as she takes notice of how innocent Ruby is & how protective Yang & Pyrrha are of her; but Yang is her sister, so it makes sense why she'd want to protect her innocence, but why is Pyrrha doing the same? Eh, it's probably nothing. What Velvet does know is that she should keep Coco very far away from the young reaper; not that Coco would hit on Ruby (Maybe), but she'd certainly cripple her innocence, albeit by accident. Then her attention goes to Blake, her teammates most likely aren't aware of this yet, but Velvet can tell that Blake is a Faunus, given that Faunus can tell each other apart; but given that she's hiding what's most likely to be her ears with that red bandana of hers, she keeps that fact to herself since Velvet respect the privacy of other people. That's when Velvet decided to talk to Ruby & see if she can help her out.

Velvet: Alright, back on topic. Is it okay if I ask what's specifically wrong about Weiss?

Ruby: Honestly Velvet, I'm not even sure of that myself. She's clearly more distant & hostile than what she normally is… I can tell that she only took Port's test as a chance to prove herself, since it looked like Port was going to choose Blake instead.

Velvet: Ah, so that's what Blake meant when Weiss was "getting her ass handed by a couple of wild boars"; did Port go a little too far the first day again?

Yang: A little bit, yes… Wait, AGAIN?!

Velvet: Oh yeah, he does this kind of stuff all the time! In my Team's case, my teammate: Fox Alistair had to fight a pair of Ursai Major. But Fox was a pretty good fighter, so he didn't have too much trouble. You guys better get used to this kind of stuff quickly, since Beacon makes you adapt & grow up pretty quickly. Hell, Glynda's combat classes are the easiest ones compared to what the other teachers usually have in-store!

Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha & The Rose Xiao-Long sisters all have their jaws dropped at the revelation that Beacon Academy is far more brutal than what they initially realized, with Ren & Blake just staying in a quiet mood feeling indifferent about it while Nora doesn't believe Velvet in that last bit.

Nora: That busty dominatrix? The one with the easiest classes?! I don't believe you!

Velvet: *Chuckles* Well then, don't say I didn't warn you. But back to my point, just give it time, okay Ruby? Not everything works out from the get-go & it shows, but I promise things get better overtime. So when Weiss calms down a little, try talking it out, alright?

Ruby thinks about what Velvet said before smiling softly at her, grateful for the small comfort & advice from their new friend.

Ruby: I- I'll try, thanks Velvet.

Velvet: No problem, I'm happy to help. By the way, what's that you guys are drinking? Is that homebrewed tea?

Ruby then looks at the tea cups & small tea pot on the table as Velvet asks that & happily answers Velvet's question.

Ruby: Oh, that? Yeah, Blake brew them & it's really good, wanna try it?

Velvet: Sure, I'd love a cup.

Blake then quietly, yet kindly pours a cup of tea for Velvet & gives it to her, she drinks it & like everyone else, she loves it.

Velvet: Hmm~, Jasmine Tea, it's been a while since I've had some for myself. You have great taste, Blake!

Blake doesn't answer Velvet's compliment, but she shoots her a faint smile before going back to eat her food, the group keeps chatting & bonding with one another; not knowing that Weiss is outside on the outskirts of campus practicing her summoning once again & just like yesterday, it doesn't have much success.

The time finally comes, it's Byleth's first day in class as a teacher at Beacon Academy, Sothis is there with her helping her out while Glynda is to the side since she's gonna evaluate Byleth's teaching methods personally to see if she's actually qualified for the job, much to the sisters' dismay.

Sothis: Remind me again why you're here?!...

Glynda: Someone has to evaluate how your sister does her job as a professor. We need to make sure that she's worthy of aiding these children & help them grow into the next generation of Huntsmen & Huntresses.

Sothis just rolls her eyes at Glynda's response as Byleth adjusts her hair a little before putting on her professor's hat, she looks at the topics of discussion she'll cover & feels confident at her first true day in the job.

Byleth: Come on, Sothis, I'm sure everything will be fine. Anyways, the students should arrive in a few minutes time… & Speaking of the devil…

As Byleth says that last bit, Teams RWBY & JNPR finally arrive in Byleth's classroom. It definitely has that medieval setting with all the weapons hanging on the walls & the wood color pallet that the classroom has, but it certainly looks appealing to look at. But Byleth then takes a notice that Weiss isn't there yet… Odd, will she be late today? Everyone came 10-5 minutes before the class was suppose to start. No matter, she'll deal with that some other time.

Byleth: Good afternoon, students. I hope you all had a good morning & early afternoon; I know that you're already familiar with me, but allow me to reintroduce myself on the off chance some of you need a quick refresher. My name is Byleth Eisner, I shall teach you all everything I know about warfare, tactics & working as a unit. I'm fully aware that you're more accustomed to fight against The Creatures of Grimm, but let me remind you all of a very crucial detail: Mankind is its own worse enemy! You will have to fight against other people just as much as Grimm; be it either a group of bandits & murderers that won't hesitate to kill you when given the chance or even those with good morals who took a dark path, you will have to fight them! So the best advice I can offer you all for your first day is to not let your ideals cloud your judgement, but at the same time, you must never let go of what makes you who you are. The moment you let go of your heart & become nothing more than a weapon, then you become no better than those who cause such horrible acts of violence upon the world.

The class was understandably hesitant & confused to what Byleth just said, especially the fact that she straight up told them that they will have to fight against other people & maybe even kill them. But the worse part is that Byleth is right, Mankind is its own worse enemy & that has been shown many times throughout history; they will have to accept the reality that there are just bad people in the world who must be stopped, there is this cruel reality that sometimes, you need to take away life in order to protect it.

Byleth: Now then, I'm sure you're all concerned about what I just told you all. But fret not since throughout these 4 years, I intend to stand by your side & aid you in whatever way I can. I will also take matters into my own hands in your own training, since like Prof. Goodwitch, I shall test your battle prowess every now & then, while also seeing what will work best for you. Now then, take your seats & let us commence!

As soon as the class did what Byleth told them, Weiss finally arrives & saying that she looks a little emotionally drained would be an understatement. She must've practiced her summoning for hours to no end & none were successful, her rather cold exterior expressing that she's not in the mood for jokes at the moment.

Glynda: Ah, Ms. Schnee. You were always one to arrive early, so how come you just arrived the moment Prof. Eisner's class wo-

Weiss: Pardon my rudeness, Prof. Goodwitch, but I'm not in the best of moods at the moment… I just want to get this over it & rest for the rest of the evening.

Glynda: Oh, I- I see!... My apologies, carry on.

That was quite the shocker to the class, Glynda would've most certainly scolded Weiss for interrupting her like that. But what the students & The Eisner Sisters don't know is that Weiss & Glynda go way back, they've known each other for a few years now, so even if she's being rude, Glynda doesn't mind it that much. Anyway, Weiss sits down & Byleth takes notice of the fact that Weiss sits on a seat away from her teammates, but she doesn't really know why exactly.

Byleth: Anyways, now that everyone is here, let us begin! The first thing I wish to know is each of your fighting styles & how it fills your team's required roles. If you ask me, these are the required roles of a balanced & well-choreographed team: The Fighter, The Tank, The Support & The Wildcard. Allow me to explain each of them in greater detail should any of you not understanding what I mean; The Fighter is the one who's the main fighter of the team, the one who always stays in the frontlines & fights their enemies for the team. While it's true that the whole team consists of people who can fight, there's always that one who was specifically made for battle; if you're the leader of a team, you must accept the fact that not everyone will fight the same & you must adapt & find a way that works best for the individual before trying to find a good team synergy; I know you kids probably play a lot of MRPGs (Mistralean RPGs) so let's use a traditional MRPG character class & archetype that fits the role of a traditional fighter: The Warrior.

Byleth then turns on her monitor & shows a hologram of Ike, the main character of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance as an example.

Editor's note: Get used to these Fire Emblem & Videogame analogies cause there's gonna be a lot of them & it won't be the last time I'll use these analogies.

Byleth: In traditional fantasy settings, The Warrior usually boasts high Attack, Speed & Skill; their main role is to hit the enemy & hit them really hard, plain & simple. Now I'm aware that most people associate the term fighter with a class like The Berserker; while I can see why that's the case, I consider The Berserker Archetype to fill better as The Tank, which is what I'll talk about next.

Byleth then switches the image of her monitor from Ike to Hector, one of the 3 main characters of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Sword as her next example.

Byleth: While the Fighter fills the roll of the team's main powerhouse, The Tank fills the role of the team's defensive iron wall. They're the ones who hold the line & protect the weaker members of the team from attacks that would normally be lethal to them. While the Tank is certainly strong, he's usually pretty slow & is more adapt in defending rather than attacking; which is why I believe The Berserker fills the roll of The Tank better, while they usually boast high attack & mediocre defenses, they have the highest HP in the party & can tank many blows before they finally go down, it also gives the party healer something to do. But if you ask me, those who fit the role of The Tank the best are Heavy Armor units; who boasts the highest defense in the party, while still having great attack & HP. If your team has a very defensive member, its usually best to have them hold the line & defend those who can't take a lot of damage; mainly our next member of this well-balanced team: The Support.

Byleth then switches the image of her monitor from Hector to L'Arachel, one of the main side characters of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones.

Byleth: Now in videogames, The Support can fill any roll that can either benefit the party or lower the chances of victory of the enemy; in fantasy settings, that character will 9/10 be a healer of sorts, be it a priest, a cleric, ETC. they're main roll is to do what the first 2 rolls can't do; while The Fighter & The Tank are the ones who do most of the heavy lifting, they're pretty much lost without The Support's… Well- Support! Let's use the healer analogy I've mentioned, their roll is to heal the injuries of their fellow party members & make sure they stay alive at all times; this is why The Tank is such a good archetype to pair up with The Support, since they both fill each other's weaknesses perfectly! The Tank defends The Support from powerful enemy attacks that would usually take them out in a single shot, while The Support helps The Tank keep fighting on & hold the line. But that's not their only way of supporting the team, they usually learn a lot of spells that can buff the party to make them hit harder, let them tank better hits, get faster, ETC. & The same is true for enemy debuffs, where they're spells that make the enemies weaker; this is especially useful for boss fights that take too long due to the enemy having a lot of prowess & bulk to both hit hard & stay in the fight for long periods of time. Of course, stuff like that doesn't exist in Remnant, there aren't any healing staves or healing spells around, nor are there any buff or debuff spells, so the roll of the support in your case will be entirely dependent on what Semblance you have. Tell me, do any of you have a Semblance that's not very useful in a frontline battle, but can fill something else that can be just as valuable?

The class then scratch their heads & get in deep thought as to what Byleth just asked; out of all of the conversation topics the class got yesterday while chatting, Semblances wasn't one of them; that's when Nora raises her hand while pointing at Ren

Nora: Hey, Teach! Ren here has a Semblance just like that!

Ren blushes for a moment as he tries to stop Nora from speaking on his behalf out of the blue like that.

Ren: Nora, wait! You don't have to-

Nora: His Semblance is called Tranquility. It allows him to turn himself & anyone else he touches invisible, which helps ups hide from the Grimm.

Ren looks down rather embarrassed after hearing Nora's words, not wanting the others to know about his Semblance this soon. Byleth however is impressed by such an ability, thinking how useful it would be outside of battle.

Byleth: Invisibility, you say?... *Looks at Ren* Can you show us a demonstration of your Semblance, Lie Ren?

Realizing that he has no way out, he reluctantly agrees to Byleth's request. He gets up & clears his mind, suddenly losing all color of his body, which takes the class by surprise.

Byleth: *Nods* I see, very great example! *Looks at the rest of her class* As you all saw with Lie Ren; you can support your allies if you both have a Semblance that's specifically built for support & know how to use it well. The Support can also help their allies if they somehow give them more options of attack or something that makes them a little more… "loose", so to say. As you may recall from The Trials of Emerald Valley, Weiss' Semblance of Glyphs allows her to do many things, one of which being to create platforms that either herself or her allies can land & hop from one place to another, the utility & usefulness of such a Semblance speaks for itself.

Byleth hoped that mentioning about Weiss' Semblance might finally get her to talk, mainly about boasting on how amazing her Semblance was, but nope. Nothing! This is getting worrisome, but Byleth decides to keep going just a little more before confronting the Heiress about it. That's when Byleth switches the images once again, this time showing an image of Robin, one of the 3 main characters of Fire Emblem: Awakening.

Byleth: & Now we have the final roll that what I believe makes a well-balanced & well-choreographed team, The Wildcard. Now this could be many things since as the title suggests, The Wildcard can pretty much do anything! But usually, the common example of wildcards are those who both fill an existing roll as well as bringing something new to the table, like say you have a Thief in your party & he's a swordsman like your main fighter, but something that thieves in MRPGs usually bring is the ability to open chests & unlock doors without the need of keys due to always having the ability to Lockpick. Or in the case of the mage or spellcaster, someone who can assist their team with many magical arts! But in the case of you all, I believe that The Wildcard is 9/10 the tactician of the team! The one who always comes up with the plans & how they will go, the one who can think of a possible comeback on the spot & guarantee their team's victory, as well as filling another roll that none of his team members can. They can be the team's very useful lockpicker like I've previously mentioned, or they can be some kind of tech genius & a hacker. In many scenarios, The Wildcard is your saving grace!

Byleth turns off her monitor before looking at the class a little more seriously.

Byleth: Now some of you may be thinking: "What's the point of all of this? Why do we need to form our team in such a specific way? Can't any of these archetypes do the job just fine on their own? Can't we just build a team with just one of these archetypes?" The reason I'm teaching you all of this is because while you can do a team consisting of just one archetype or do a lot of stuff by yourself, you're gonna hit a roadblock sooner or later. The Fighter can very well take on a whole army by themselves, but since their main job is to fight, they might encounter a situation where hitting things hard enough won't solve the issue & in some cases, make them even worse! The Tank can very well hold off the line by themselves, but just like any wall & shield, it will eventually crumble & fall down if they're not being taken well care off. The Support's job is to help their allies… But what if they're all by themselves? Or worse, how will they fend off against an army of enemies if they're not suited for battle & are taken out with ease? As for The Wildcard, they're the posterchild of the phrase "A jack of all traits, but a master at none!" They're only going to have long-term success if they all find a way to combine their strengths & cover each other's weaknesses; I already gave the example of The Tank & The Support Combo & why they're such an incredible duo a few moments ago, but another common duo is The Fighter & The Wildcard, They're usually a good example of "The Brain & The Brawn" trope. The Fighter is usually the one fighting off the enemies & doing the literal heavy lifting, while The Wildcard – who's usually the smart one of the team - helps The Fighter in what they can't do by simply hitting things hard enough. Like building new weapons or gadgets, hacking through tight security bases of their enemies, hatching a plan for them to do in their next mission, ETC. & That's what I'm going to teach you all, about creating the best team you can be & cover all of each other's weaknesses while making each other's strengths even more powerful, does that answer satisfy you all?

The class stays quiet & at awe at the level of profession & experience that Byleth presents, she's clearly very wise & almost born to be a teacher in a way. The class stays in silent before Glynda of all people starts clapping her hands at the excellent first lesson & being very impressed at how phenomenal she was at her job, with all of the students following suit. Minus Ren & Blake who just smile & nod, while Weiss is at a lost for words, but can't bring herself to let go of her pride & just looks away frustrated. She hates to admit it, but Byleth is indeed very good at what she does & she hates that! Throughout the remainder of Byleth's class, she keeps showing the class a little bit about historical figures & teams throughout Remnant & how they worked as a team until the bell finally rang.

Byleth: It seems that this is all of the time I have for you all, remember to cover the given assignments & always train together regularly, you're all free to go.

As the students begin to pack their things & leave the classroom, Byleth stops both Ruby & Jaune, wanting to converse with the 2 Team Leaders for a moment.

Byleth: Ruby, Jaune, a word?

Ruby & Jaune turn around as Byleth calls for them, they're wondering what's going on, but decided to play along & do what she says as Ruby turns to face the others.

Jaune: Uh, sure! Alright.

Ruby: You guys go on ahead, we'll catch up!

Their teammates nod as they leave & the 2 leaders go & face Byleth.

Ruby: What's up?

Byleth: I know you're both in a hurry for the next class, so I'll get straight to the point. How does it feel being a leader? I know that's a weird question considering that it's been only 2 days, but I'd like to have your first impressions on the matter.

While Ruby looks down as Byleth asks that, Jaune seems pretty happy about it.

Jaune: Well, I admit that I still don't think I'm worthy of being in such a position, it's going well so far. But I know I'm the weakest of the team, so I have to become stronger so that I don't hold them back!

Byleth nods at Jaune's words while feeling that something's off. She can't explain it, but Jaune seems to take this "I hold them back" view a little too much to heart. She hopes that it's nothing too serious, then she looks at Ruby & how conflicted she appears to be.

Byleth: Ruby, is there something the matter?

Ruby: Honestly… I don't think it's working out that well. Blake appears to be too isolated & introverted to have a good conversation with & whenever we do, it's either not much or expressing her distain for Atlas & their people. Which brings me to Weiss &- *Sighs* I think she's pushing it; I know that attitude she's showing off, she's probably upset that I got the title of leader instead of her & wants to prove herself useful after having a mediocre performance during the initiation last week. But I know what she's capable off, but she never lets me talk to her & just brushes me off to the side.

Sothis: Well, that sucks. What about your Sister?

Ruby: *Chuckles weakly* Oh, it's usually the same thing we've been doing for the last few years. Yang teases me from time to time, but she trusts me & believes in my potential as a leader… I'm confident in my own abilities, but I don't have any leadership abilities to be confident in, especially since that last-minute decision on the initiation were just that, a last-minute decision that coincidently worked out! But I can't just make someone respect me or make someone trust me, that always cause the opposite effect…

Byleth then lays a comforting hand on Ruby's shoulder & looks at her with a fond smile on her face.

Byleth: Listen, I know it's hard. Not everyone has an easy first outing, but it's only been a few days & you can't let first impressions ruin the whole experience. Of course, you have to find a way to work things out before they get so out of hand that the team gets beyond repair, but that's why I'm here. Like I showed you all, my goal is to make you all stronger as a team; so if there are problems going on in your team dynamic, I'm here to help you guys out.

Ruby: I'm not sure if this will even work; you & Blake get along well, but Weiss? It's kinda obvious that she doesn't want anything to do with you, she's too prideful to ask for help.

Glynda: Ms. Schnee wasn't always like that, however.

The 4 turn their attention to Glynda as she continues speaking.

Glynda: Back in Atlas, she was far more free-spirited & a lot lest hostile towards those she sees as below her. *Looks at Ruby* She was a lot like you, Ms. Rose. Always getting stronger each day in the hopes of changing the world in her own way.

Ruby, Jaune & The Eisner Sisters look at Glynda at shock, from what she said, it gives the impression that Glynda & Weiss knew each other personally long before she came at Beacon Academy. Although Sothis being the sassy little rascal that she is, doubts that without a second thought.

Sothis: You're joking, right? Weiss Schnee? "Ms. Spoiled Little Rich Brat Weiss" being a lot like Ruby? Who's the complete opposite of her?! Yeah, I don't buy that.

Glynda simply chuckles at the response as she adjusts her glasses before responding.

Glynda: Oh, but what I'm saying it's the truth; for I'm Ms. Schnee's Godmother.

Ruby: WEISS IS YOUR GODCHILD?!

To say that this revelation from Glynda shocked them beyond belief would be a massive understatement! Not only do Weiss & Glynda know each other prior to the former coming at Beacon Academy, but Glynda's her Godmother?! Holy shit!

Glynda: I wouldn't give this "bit of information" to others, but I decided to make an exception here since you're her friends & classmates, while Prof. Eisner is her teacher.

Sothis: Friends? She doesn't have any friends, she said so herself yesterday.

Glynda: My daughter says otherwise.

Wait, Glynda's Daughter? Byleth & Sothis have already interacted with Gayelette, but none of the students have, they don't even know she's even here. Needless to say, Ruby & Jaune's expressions speaks for itself.

Ruby: "Your Daughter"? Hold on, YOU HAVE A KID OF YOUR OWN?!

Byleth: Oh? You kids haven't met Gayelette yet?

Jaune: "Gayelette"?

Glynda: Pardon me from not telling you sooner, she's not as sociable as she was before. She came here from Atlas to finish her training proper. Although in reality, she was living here in Vale for the last 5 years or so & only recently decided to train once again.

Jaune: Uh, I see. Did something happen before that made Gayelette so isolated?

Glynda looks away while having a bit of a disgusted look on her face.

Glynda: It'- It's personal family matters, I do not wish to talk about them for the moment.

Jaune: Oh, I understand. My apologies for asking…

Ruby: Still, you're a Mother? But you look so young!

Glynda then adjust her glasses before looking back at the team leaders with a softer expression on her face.

Glynda: It's quite alright, Mr. Arc. I know that you meant no harm & thank you for your compliment, Ms. Rose. *Clears her throat* Back in Atlas, Weiss was a lot different from who you know now & Gayelette was one of her few, but also her best friend. The 2 got along very well together, especially whenever Nicholas II was around.

Ruby: "Nicholas II"? You mean the former Atlesian Emperor that died 5 years ago?

Glynda: *Nods* Weiss was very close to her Maternal Grandfather; a lot more than she could've ever bonded with her - & pardon my language - disgusting shithole of a Father! Unfortunately, Weiss started to change after her Grandfather died. But I didn't know by how much at the time since Gayelette & I left the Empire shortly after Nicholas' passing.

Sothis (Snickering): {Let's just hope that Oz didn't hear that given that we can't curse.}

Byleth: So what you're saying is that after Weiss' grandfather died, she changed into the Weiss we know of today?

Glynda: That's the most likely conclusion, yes

Sothis: *Looks away with a smug look* Doesn't excuse her bitch-like behavior, though…

Glynda: Anyways, Ms. Rose. Why don't you bring your team to Prof. Eisner for a team meeting after you're all done with your classes? If you're having problems as a team, it's best to solve these issues efficiently & I've witnessed more than enough proof that Prof. Eisner is more than capable for the job.

Byleth & Sothis widens their eyes in shock a little after getting a genuine compliment from Glynda of all people.

Byleth: Wow, you're genuinely praising me? I think that's a first, Glynda.

Glynda: *Smirks* Don't get used to it.

Sothis: *Rolls her eyes* & There it is again… Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

Byleth: She's not wrong, however. Let's give this idea of hers a shot, see if you four can meet me here after class is over.

Ruby: I'm not very confident that it'll work, but it's better than nothing.

Jaune: Don't worry, Ruby. I'm sure things will work out!

Byleth: Excellent, you 2 may go now. Thank you both for your time.

Both leaders bow before Byleth & take their leave, with the professors wishing Ruby in particular some good luck with Weiss & the rest of Team RWBY.

Speaking of which, the Team (Mainly Blake) is finally glad that they're first day in class is finally over, now they can finally change from these damn uniforms… Or so they think!

Blake: Well, that was a rough first day…

Yang: Hearing an old guy talk about his fantasies for over an hour, biology & medicine from a hot, yet hyperactive nurse, tactics & strategy with Prof. Byleth, history class with a guy who is way too high in caffeine & to top it all off, combat class with Glynda… To be honest, that last one really was the least insane. I'm gonna have to thank Velvet for the heads up back at Lunch Break.

Weiss: "Velvet"? Who's that?

Ruby: Oh, you haven't met her when she came to see us. She's a second-year student & a member of Team CFVY. She's also a Rabbit Faunus, those ears of hers are so cute!

Yang: "Cute", eh? Oh, what would Mabel say if she heard you say that?

Ruby: Hey, I'm allowed to have Faunus friends & think they're cute!

Yang: Yeah, "friends"!

Ruby gets a little more flustered as she glares at Yang, feeling a little embarrassed.

Ruby: Yang, if this is another one of your little games, then drop it!

Yang: Aw, come on, sis. There's nothing wrong with having a type you like.

Ruby: I don't have a type of anything, thank you very much!

As the Rose Xiao-Long sisters start having their usual sisterly bonding, Weiss interrupts them & says something that she definitely shouldn't say in public.

Weiss: I knew you were not fit for this path, but to lower yourself to the same level as those repulsive Sub-humans is a displeasure to say the least.

The mood suddenly goes quiet the moment Weiss said that word, "Sub-Human". A feeling of disbelief & burning anger burns inside of the sisters as they confront Weiss about her calling Velvet a "Sub-Human".

Yang: What was that?! I didn't hear you say that word, did I?!...

Ruby: Did you just refer The Faunus as "Sub-humans"?! What the heck, Weiss?! What's wrong with you?!

Weiss: I don't see anything wrong in not trusting those murderous, backstabbing Half-breeds that only know how to cause pain & suffering! Sub-humans only know how to lie, cheat, steal & kill, nothing more! They're literally wild beasts with a human mask, it was scumbags like them who made Remnant the nightmare that it is now!

To say that The Rose Xiao-Long sisters want to teach Weiss a lesson & not be a racist bitch would be an understatement, they're livid when they heard that disgusting words. "Sub-human", "Half-breed", Faunus are people, not wild animals! But they're rage is nothing compared to Blake's, just like she suspected, she's just like everyone back at that disgusting Empire! She sees Faunus as nothing more than tools to be used & wild animals instead of seeing them as people, those are the kind of scum that Blake despises the most. But as much as Ruby would want to teach Weiss a lesson for saying those repulsive words, she has something else to worry about.

Yang: Listen, Heiress. I am this close to beating the ever-living fuck out of you right now! & Don't think I forgot about you shouting at my Sister when she was trying to help you back in Port's class earlier!

Weiss: Tch, I already told her all that I don't need her help! I can fight on the battlefield just fine on my own, I don't need a child who is way over her head to tell me what to do!

Blake: Oh really, then remind us who was the one who saved your ungrateful ass from a giant Nevermore & formed a plan to slay both The Deathstalker & The Nevermore?

Weiss: Hmph! I just let my guard down & she got lucky, that's all! Now if you 3 don't mind, I have some late-night training to do & I'm not going to be held back by you pests!

As Weiss was about to leave however, Ruby stands in her way.

Weiss: What are you doing. Ruby? I'm not in the mood for your little games right now.

Ruby: This isn't a game, Weiss. Prof. Byleth wants to see us, all of us! She wants to have a team meeting with us & you're coming with us whether you like it or not!

Weiss: Oh please, like I have time to waste in hearing that woman talk about random nonsense that's completely irrelevant!

Blake: Of course you'd say that, Atlesian.

Weiss: I beg your pardon?

Oh Goddamnit, why now?! Blake just started to push Weiss' buttons once again & Ruby knows that this is gonna go south really quickly.

Blake: You don't wanna get involved with everyone else because you see yourself as above them, while at the same time being fully aware that you're just a pathetic child who's way out of your league. You fought those wild boars & refused the kid's help not because you felt that you didn't need her help, but because accepting help from those you see as below you would make you weak, am I right?

Weiss widens her eyes in shock & anger as Blake said that, there's no way she thinks that way about herself, right?! No! she's Weiss Schnee, she's Nicholas II's Granddaughter & she's destined to become a greater Huntress than him, she doesn't see herself like that! Right? Ruby tries to intervene, but to no avail.

Ruby: Weiss, is that true? Is that ho-

Weiss: QUIET, YOU LOW-LIFE PEASANT! I already told you that I don't need your help, all you're doing is hold me back, nothing more!

Ruby: Wha- no! I'm just trying to help you; I don't see you as someone who's weak.

Weiss: Yeah, nice try! You clearly see me as this damsel in distress who needs saving after you just so happened to save me from that Nevermore from the trials, right? Or the fact that you didn't think I could beat those wild boars on my own, so you belittled me while I was trying to think of a way to kill them, is that it?!

Ruby: No, I was just trying to help, I couldn't stand seeing you getting beaten up so badly by those Grimm.

Weiss: SEE?! YOU JUST ADMIT IT! I AM WEAK IN YOUR EYES, AREN'T I?!

Ruby's eyes widen in shock as she starts to get sad as she only made things worse, Yang finally decided to step in & confront the Heiress for shouting at her sister like that.

Yang: Alright, I've had enough of you for today! What's your problem with my Sister, huh? She's only trying to be nice & help you, yet you treat her like complete crap for no good reason other than you being jealous that she got the spot as leader instead of you!

Weiss' focus goes to Yang, standing her ground & not let her talk back to her like this.

Weiss: Your Sister is a hazard to my health & I already told you that I don't need her help, much less having her hold my hand all the time! I can fight just fine on my own & I proved it earlier in class!

Blake: If you can even call that pitiful disaster an actual fight, of course. You were being destroyed for the most part & it showed!

Weiss finally had enough of Blake calling her out & got up in her face & glared fiercely in her eyes, who just glares back at her.

Weiss: Okay, if you have a problem with me, then why don't you just say it to my face?!

The dormroom stays silent as Weiss shouts at Blake & dares her to finally come out & say her issues with the Heiress in the face. Ruby & Yang look at each other in worry for a moment before Blake turns to Weiss as her eyes become a sharp golden color.

Blake: Ya wanna know my problems with you, fine! It's simple, really… You're an Atlesian & the worst kind at that! You believe that you're worthy & deserving of everything in the world when all you do is sit on the throne & get what you want like a spoiled child! Tell me, Heiress… Have you truly earned something before in your life, did you actually get something because of your incredibly lackluster skills in battle? Or were all of your achievements due to your heritage? Face it, bitch! You're just another royal princess who's going to get married with a random Atlesian Noble & live your life while watching those below suffer & break their backs while you get to live an easy life!

Weiss: Shut up! You don't know a bloody thing about me! you have no idea what I've been through, got it?!

Ruby: This is about your Grandfather, isn't it?

Weiss: What?!...

Weiss then looks back at Ruby with a shocked & confused expression on her face.

Ruby: Glynda told Byleth & I about your Grandfather, how you might've become jaded after he-… *Looks away somberly* After he passed away 5 years ago…

Weiss groans in frustration when she learned that Glynda spilled the beans when she wasn't supposed to, that's just great! Now she has to deal with this as well.

Ruby: Just as I thought… Listen Weiss, I'm sorry for what happened to your Grandfather & although I've never got the chance to met him in person, I'm sure that he was a truly great man. I can tell that his passing is still affecting you, but-

Weiss: I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT!... You weren't the first one who said those words to me… "You need to accept it & move on", "Get over it, already", I've heard it all before…

Ruby: Hold on, I'd never say that! I'm not gonna tell someone who's grieving to just "get over it & move on", that's the complete opposite of what you-

[Music: A Lonely Figure from Fire Emblem: Three Houses]

Weiss is getting angrier & angrier as she lets her emotions flow & starting to form tears of anger in her eyes.

Weiss: I'VE HEARD ENOUGH! I don't need your pity, nor do I want it… My grandfather was the greatest man i've ever known, he was always there for me when I needed comfort as I struggled to live with a Father who's only in it for himself, an Older Sister who was getting more & more distant from me as we grew older, a Mother who was always too busy at work & a Little Brother who's nothing more than a puppet to our Father! He was my light of hope… Until those disgusting Sub-humans betrayed him & murdered him in cold blood when all he wanted was to help them!

Hold a moment, "Murder"? Nicholas II was said to have died from an illness; this doesn't seem right… But if it's coming from her Granddaughter's words, then it has to be true.

Yang: Wait, what?! What are you talking about?! I thought that the Emperor passed away because he had a severe illness, not murder!

Weiss: That was a cover up from The Atlesian Council to prevent another war, for that was my Grandfather's dying wish… My Grandfather didn't die due to an illness, but he really was ill & it only got stronger as time went on… Yet he still went to seek a meeting with those disgusting Sub-humans, only to give us back his shattered armor & sword back to my doorstep… While I was grieving for my Grandfather's death & cursing those backstabbing Half-breeds for what they've done, ya'know what everyone else said?! What my own Sister said?!... "He died like a true knight". Ever since that happened, everyday has been like hell to me! My Father took over the S.D.C. & ruined the legacy that my Great-Grandfather have created after The Great War 80 years ago, My Mother only became an alcoholic & distanced herself from the family & my sister… She decided that it was a better idea to give up her duty to serve a fascist dictator & push the burden of inheriting the throne & succeed our Grandfather into her own Sister!

They cannot believe it, Weiss' life was not the easy princess life that they (Mainly Blake) have thought of, it sounds like a freaking disaster! By what they can tell by what they've listened, she must've had a lonely & abusive life growing up & only had her Grandfather to go for comfort; but ever since he died, it only got worse & by that last bit of information, Ruby then pieces things together & learn something crucial.

Ruby: "Push the burden of inheriting the throne to her own Sister"? hold on, does that-

Blake: That means that the girl standing before us isn't just the Heiress of the S.D.C., but she's also the true Heir & Crown Princess of the Atlesian Empire… I guess Nicholas II's death wasn't the only thing that was covered up from the outside world, huh?

Ruby: Weiss… Is that true?...

Weiss looks down & takes a deep breath after finally letting her emotions out.

Weiss: Yeah, it's true… & When I said my like was hell since my Grandfather died, I meant it! I always have to keep getting stronger & stronger, but nothing works! I can't even Summon like he did, I never asked for this! All I ever wanted was to be a Huntress & yet-

Weiss covers her eyes with one of her hands, not wanting to let the others see her tears as she begins crying. Ruby tries to reach her hand out to Weiss & comfort her.

Ruby: Weiss, I-… I'm so sorry, I never thought that-

-SWAT-

Weiss just smacks Ruby's hand away as she leaves the room without saying another word, just time for Byleth & Sothis to come in to check on them. They were getting late for the team meeting, so she was wondering what was wrong. She came just in time to see Weiss storm off, with the mood going silent again before Sothis broke said silence.

[Music End]

Sothis: Ah, would you look at that? The damsel in distress ran away crying, did you girls upset her poor feelings, how cruel~!

Byleth: Sothis, not the time.

Ruby just sighs in frustration as she sits on Weiss' bed & puts her hands on her face, with Yang sitting next to her & trying her best to comfort her.

Ruby: Crapbaskets, I knew this would happen & I just made things worse!... What am I suppose to do now?!

Byleth: You can start by telling what happened.

Yang: You see, it's kind of a long story.

Yang begins explaining what just happened to Byleth & Sothis, with Byleth getting more & more baffled as it went on, this was worse than she had expected.

Cut to the outskirts of Campus where Weiss is by herself practicing her summoning once again, this time bringing far worse results due to her current state of mind. Letting her emotions out like that was a big mistake & the fact that she also revealed that she's the Crown Imperial Princess, damnit all! Her Aura shatters as she failed to summon once again as her tears of anger begin flowing through her cheeks once again.

Weiss: WHY CAN'T I BLOODY DO IT?! Instead of summoning familiars, it keeps blowing up at my face; LIKE EVERYTHING ALWAYS DOES!...

Weiss throws Myrtenaster to the ground in anger once more as she falls to her knees & begins breaking down, too frustrated that she can't do a single thing right. She never asked for this burden, she never asked to take this path to perfection, all she wanted was to become a great Huntress like her late Grandfather. But now, she's expected to succeed him in everyway possible & that's too much for a young 17-year-old girl who just wanted to achieve her dream. It didn't take long for Byleth to find her on the ground, picking up Myrtenaster before focusing her attention to Weiss.

Byleth: So this is where you were, Ruby was worried about you after what happened.

Weiss doesn't even bother to respond Byleth, let alone look back at her. She's just done with all of this & can't take it anymore, but Byleth was never one to call it quits as she goes to Weiss & sits down next to her.

Byleth: They told me what happened, they told me about your past… You really had a rough life growing up, didn't you?

Weiss: Spare me your pity! If you think that you know me or have an idea about what I've been through by simply hearing it about it, you're horribly mistaken!...

[Music: Recollection & Regret from Fire Emblem: Three Houses]

Byleth: You're right, I don't know you… I can't say that I truly know about those struggles of yours… I only know the Weiss I see before me, a lost, troubled & frustrated young girl who's burdened by expectations of those around her… & Must not show any signs of weakness to anyone… At least, that's what I think…

Weiss: *Sighs*… Why are you even here? I don't want any help… I don't want to be seen as weak, I can't!... I know my own destiny & I won't be held back by those who only see me as this helpless princess who can't do anything on her own!

Byleth: Tell me… Is that your own destiny? Or is it a destiny that someone else has pushed towards you?...

Weiss looks away for a moment as a sense of frustration & sadness burns through her body, looking like she's about to cry. It doesn't take her long to know that Byleth won't move an inch until she's honest with her, so she decides to be vulnerable for a moment.

Weiss: No, it's not my own destiny… I haven't been alive since I was almost 12 years old… All that's left is my Grandfather's will & burden that have been pushed at me, a burden I never asked for… But I didn't have a choice, I never had a choice… All I could do is fight & become stronger, yet I can't even do that right!

Byleth: You're right, you're not a very good fighter… Although you're skilled in fencing, fighting in the frontlines clearly wasn't meant for you; you're fragile & easily taken advantage off, the enemy can make really easy work on you… But that's only if you're always doing things by yourself, when you clearly don't have to!

This gets Weiss' curiosity as she turns to Byleth & looks at her in the eye.

Byleth: Weiss, this wasn't my first time being a teacher… I had a group of students of my own in the past, I worked as a substitute teacher in a church for about a year or so… But that single year was the greatest time in my life, you actually remind me of one of those students… A Noble who's striving for perfection & trying to achieve his destiny in making his legacy & family name proud.

Weiss: Wait… Is that true?

Byleth: Yup, his name was Lorenz. He was very skilled in Dust, as well as a good lancer… but he was never suited for the frontlines & it showed, but he was too damn prideful & stubborn to admit it… But something happened during a mission of ours, he got a serious injury on his dominant arm & could no longer wield a lance. I never saw him so defeated & devastated before that happened, he was always so confident on his abilities, but I didn't see any of that confidence when that accident happened… But that's when he learned something crucial, his Semblance was not suited for battle, but for Dust & with his great Knowledge with Dust, he was able to support us in so many ways. Even when he couldn't wield a lance anymore, he still had our backs through thick & thin!

Weiss looks at her hands as she thinks about what Byleth just said, about this Lorenz guy & how he kept helping his classmates, even without being able to wield a lance anymore. It's not so different from Weiss herself, she's not suited for frontline battles… But she can support her allies through other means, it's just like Byleth said back in class.

Weiss: Wow, I've- I've never thought of that…

Byleth: Let me guess, you think that you're only worth a damn if you can do everything by yourself, can't you?

Weiss: Is it that obvious?... That's the motto of my Empire, that's why my Grandfather was such a great warrior & ruler… He was able to do so much on his own, he was always so strong… Although, that might be because I've never seen him at work…

Byleth: Precisely, you're Grandfather was a truly great man, but even he had his limits. There's only so much one person can do on his own & I'm certain that he struggled on many occasions & needed a lot of help from those around him… Tell me, do you truly wanna do everything on your own? To always be alone?

Weiss: *Shakes her head* No, I do not… I don't want to be alone; I don't want to always be seen as someone I'm not… I told you before, I don't have any friends… True friends…

Byleth: Not even Gayelette? Despite the fact that she's been here at Beacon alongside her Mother for a few days now?

Weiss then gets surprised to hear that Gayelette was actually here at Beacon. She knew that she & Glynda moved after Nicholas II died, but not to Vale, not to Beacon.

Weiss: Wait, Gayelette's here?! At Beacon?!

Byleth: You mean you didn't know of that before?

Weiss: N- no, I did not! But- I wonder if she would even recognize me… *Looks away somberly* I'm such a bloody mess these days…

Byleth: True, but you can always start anew.

Weiss looked at Byleth confusingly.

Byleth: You're no longer at Atlas, you're at Beacon Academy, you're at Vale! Things are different here; the people are different here. You kept shouting & yelling at Ruby this whole time, yet she's still trying to help you & be your friend… Why not start there?

Weiss: I mean, will that even work?... I can't see her like this after what just happened, I was such a pest to her when all she wanted was to help… What am I gonna say to her?

Byleth: Apologize, for one thing!... & Overall, just be honest with both her & yourself. I can't say much for the other 2, though. Yang is gonna take some time due to how you constantly insulted her Sister & well- Ya'know how protective older sisters can be, right?

Weiss: Well- I certainly expect that from a good elder sibling, at least! Hahahah… *Looks down* That said, it's clear that it's hopeless for me & the Ronin; she has a grudge for All of Atlas… But in reality, I can't blame her for that…

Byleth places a hand on Weiss' back in an attempt to make her feel better.

Byleth: Is it okay if I ask what does Atlas mean to you?

Weiss: Well, to give you the short version: I hate it! There are 2 kinds of people in that rotten place; the worthless nobles who only care about themselves & their money & those who willingly give their humanity & sense of morality "for the greater good" & what I consider the middle ground are the ones back at Mantle, the ones who always break their backs just for us to survive…

Byleth: The ones who serve the military are the ones who push that view you despise so much to the biggest extreme, correct? How they always justify violence & glorify the deaths of their own people like Nicholas II?

Weiss: Yeah, that. My Grandfather was just doing his job, my Sister is the real problem here… I still remember those disgusting words coming out of her mouth when we learned of his death… *Looks at Byleth* Chivalry & self-sacrifice are used as a means to glorify & romanticize death!... Am I alone in finding that grotesque?!

Byleth: Not at all, I myself loathe that view with a burning passion. I already told you kids back when my class started: "The moment you give up your humanity & what makes you who you truly are, you're no better than the ones who cause these horrible crimes." Look, I know that you probably didn't want to hear any of this at all, but it had to be done… I hope that you at least think a little about what I said, okay? Now then, if you-

Weiss: WAIT!

Byleth was about to get up & leave, Weiss grabs her by the hand, which shocks Byleth.

Weiss: {Please… Stay…}

Byleth looks at Weiss with a fond & soft smile on her face as she sits back down & pulls Weiss for a small embrace, letting her head rest on her shoulder.

Byleth: Alright… I'll stay here, if that's what you want…

For the first time in years, Weiss grows a small, yet genuine smile on her face as she relaxes on Byleth's arms, trying to get some rest after having such a hard day. Byleth doesn't mind letting Weiss rest & eventually fall asleep in her embrace, she's used to it by now. Once Weiss finally fell asleep, Byleth picked her up in a bridal carry & took the young sleeping princess back to her room.

[Music End]

Despite the very… Very rough start, it seems that Weiss is finally on the right track, she truly needed someone to just talk to & Byleth was more than happy to help her out. & Now, things are slowly starting to get better for Team RWBY. Our heroines' next trial will be the mock battle between themselves & Team JNPR in the end of March, Byleth & Glynda will also participate in this battle. Who will win this bout, what plans await them both & how will the teams be able to achieve a victory? Or will their mock battle be interrupted by a third party of sorts & make things far more complicated than it needs to be? Find out all & more next time on RWBY: The Verdant Light of Remnant!

RWBY: The Verdant Light of Remnant - Chapter 7: The Burdens of a Princess - End.

Author's Notes: TLDL: This was - with NO exagerration - the HARDERST chapter to write so far due to how difficult of a character Weiss is to write, i had to remake the ending TWICE due to how hard of a time i was having, but here we are!

Anyways, i hope you're excited for NEXT chapter since it'd be the MOCK BATTLE between RWBY & Byleth VS JNPR & Glynda, another difficult one to write since writing action scenes through words alone SUCK! But i'm too far to call it quits & i wanna keep goin with this.

Oh & before i go, thank you all of your Class Name suggestions in the comments! i didn't get alot, but i loved every single suggestion you guyts gave & next chapter, i'm going to reveal my choice & why, so thank you once again for taking part of this. Anyways that's it for me, this has been Remnant Bardock & until next time, have a wonderful day, my friends!

Edit: Yeah, i wasn't able to cut/trim down this one as much as i could, mainly for the fights. So i decided "fuck it" & just make some minor diologue changes & remove whatever scene i felt needed to go, mainly the scene with Glynda & Byleth just before Team RWBY argued again. I felt like that scene would contradict itself in the future given how Glynda STILL doesn't like Byleth all that much at this point in the story, so i cut it out to make it more consistent in future chapters.

Oh & sidenote: last week was the first year anniversary of my story... & i'm still only about, what? 2/3 finished with the Volume one section? & I'm currently writing Chapter 22?... Yeah, i'm in a huge pickle here... Either way, thank you for those who have been supporting me for this last year. As of today, we have a total of 20 kudos, 7 bookmarks & 2715 hits on Ao3, while we have a total of 68 follows & 18,493 views on this story... It may not sound much to alot of people, but it's still an accomplishment for me personally. Thank you once again for your wonderful support & i hope you guys can still help me get through this story one way or another, regardless of how many videos i have to edit, because i gotta make money off of something!

Anyways, that's all from me for tonight. This has been Remnant Bardock & until our next meeting, have a wonderful day, my friends!
