RWBY: The Verdant Star of Remnant - Chapter 7: Spread your wings, Garnet Pappillons!
Author's Notes: Before we begin, i wanna apologize for taking SO LONG for this chapter to come out. Normally i try my best to write & post one once a week, but this wasn't possible with this one. For one: I was occupied with some side projects related to this AU Xover, mainly the cover art which is almost done in its lineart phase & a DnD Style sheet & class list with skills. So far, only the sheet is finished & i'll post it on my twitter ( DxBardock) alongside the usual Twitter Announcement i do whenever i post a new chapter.
The second reason is more so related to production time, by that i mean that there's like- NO TIME for me to use my PC at night to write & work on because my brother using it at night for his own work that he got shortly after i posted C7. & for those who say "Oh, then just use it on afternoons" & i do... but i don't spend 3+ hours THIS close to a large screen writing something i'm not even getting PAID for cause that's not good for my eyes. But regardless, i shouldn't have made you guys wait SO MUCH for this chapter to come out & i also wanna thank you guys for being so patient with me, cause i DO NOT have a very stable house life here, my family is a mess in a half!
Anyways, i know i wanted to get ALL of the Mock Battle here in this chapter, but i was hitting the 20 page mark, i didn't think it would be possible with the tight schedule i have now & the fact that i MUST stop making chapters longer & longer as the series progress, it's ok for me to separate some events into different chapters, goddamnit! & As you noticed by the title of this chapter, i have decided on a team name for the class which will now be known as "The Garnet Pappillon House". The animal is Butterfly translated into Latin (Because it isn't a JRPG if it doesn't have Latin) to represent the house leader as the body & their fellow classmates as their wings, as a way to make them more united symbolically since a butterfly can't fly without its wings. As for the color Garnet (which is a mix of Red & Purple), that's suppose to reflect on this version of Ruby who i'm basing alot from Best FE Character Dimitri. So the red represents her usual free-spirited, adventurous nature much like Sonic (another inspiration for this version of Ruby) & the purple represents her inner darkness. The one who came up with this is "Young Xehanort, The Time Master" & i'm so thankful for having their help on this, but even so, thank you all for those who gave suggestions anyways, you guys are awesome!
& On an unrelated note, if i see ONE MORE PERSON judging my writing style ONE MORE TIME, i'm gonna snap! I already explained a few chapters ago WHY i write this way & how's it's like a script or a visual novel. Yet for SOME ASSININE REASON, people keep getting on my ass for it! Look, just let me do my thing & have fun! Don't bother ME or anyone else who just wants to enjoy reading this story! Ok, i've rambled for long enough, it's time to FINALLY begin this chapter & as always.

The first day in class for Team RWBY was quite eventful, mainly with The Heiress of the S.D.C., Weiss Schnee; who we now also know is the Crown Imperial Princess of Atlas. After her little breakdown after class, Byleth stepped in & had a nice heart to heart with Weiss; it shockingly worked very well as Weiss opened up to Byleth & Byleth gave her some advice on how there's only so much one person can do. The following days of their time as students at Beacon go pretty smooth for Team RWBY, even if they have to tolerate Weiss' "Sub-Human" grudge; while they understood her hatred towards The Faunus, they kinda want her to stop using that disgusting word. The Mock Battle between Teams RWBY & JNPR are on Monday, March 31st of Valean Year 1180; how will The Mock Battle go? Let's find out!
We begin our story on the yard behind the Dorm buildings where there's an open training ground, Byleth suggested her students to train during Sundays to improve their skills; this sparring match in particular is between Yang & Pyrrha who are wielding a practice axe & a practice sword respectively as the other students are watching the spectacle unfold. While Yang is more well-known for smashing people with her fists (Literally) she's quite skilled with an Axe as well, but Pyrrha uses a sword as her main weapon of choice to begin with & that's what gives her the edge over Yang & eventually disarms her of her training axe, which is sent flying & almost hits Jaune.
Jaune: Woah!
Pyrrha: Oh, I'm sorry~!
Pyrrha's "I'm sorry" counter: 8
Yang isn't mad that she lost a sparring match since she knows how skilled Pyrrha is given her battle against Byleth last week, she dusts herself off as she approaches Pyrrha.
Yang: Alright, Red Tornado. You won fair & square, you're even stronger than I thought!
Pyrrha: *Nods* You weren't half-bad yourself, Yang. Those axe swings of yours pack quite a punch!
Yang: Thanks, but I must say… You have some big hands there, don't ya?
Pyrrha looks at Yang confusingly before looking at her hands.
Pyrrha: Huh… Now that you mentioned it, they are! I suppose my stature is larger than most girls around our age.
Yang then gets closer to Pyrrha as she looks at her in the eyes.
Yang: Yeah & Ya'know what they say about "big hands", right?
Pyrrha: Uh, no… What do they say?
The mood goes silent as Yang tried to flirt with Pyrrha a little bit, only to learn that Pyrrha isn't into that stuff. While not as innocent or oblivious on the topic as Ruby is, Pyrrha doesn't know how to react in these situations. Yang eventually steps back; blushes madly & rubs the back of her neck embarrassingly before answering Pyrrha.
Yang: Oh, well~… They say they're- better for hugs! Yeah, that's what they say!
This ended up working as Pyrrha smiles while looking back at her hands.
Pyrrha: Oh, that sounds really nice!
Yang: I know, right? I learned that from my Dad.
Pyrrha: May I give you a demonstration, Yang?
Yang: Wait, wha-
Pyrrha goes towards Yang & gives her a friendly hug, but one that's also quite crushing since Pyrrha's biceps are godlike & she has great physical strength. Now Yang knows what it feels like to get a bone crushing hug herself, while the others just watch either laughing or facepalming from Yang failing to flirt with Pyrrha in such a bone-crushing way… literally!
Yang: {Ow- Pyrrha, you're crush- crushing me! Pl- please let go!}
Blake: Pff, that girl is such an idiot that it's downright embarrassing.
Ruby: Heheheheheh, Yang was never one to succeed in these tricks of hers anyways.
Blake: You have a weird definition of "tricks", kid.
Weiss: Honestly, the outcome was expected! There aren't many who can match Pyrrha's prowess, let alone defeat her.
Ruby: But Prof. Eisner did, though.
The mood goes silent as Weiss slowly turns her head towards Ruby before asking.
Weiss: Pardon?
Ruby: You weren't there when it happened, but Ozpin made Prof. Byleth & Pyrrha have a sparring match & Prof. Eisner won. In a very crushing way, might I add.
Weiss: WHAT?! There's no way a simple mercenary can beat The Pyrrha Nikos, right?!
Pyrrha: But it's the truth, Weiss.
Weiss looked at Pyrrha who was approaching her as Yang was rubbing her sore shoulders from afar after Pyrrha's bone-crushing hug.
Pyrrha: I did everything I could, but I could barely land a hit on her. I couldn't even take her Aura down to half, not to mention how she finished me off with an attack that took all of my remaining Aura like it's nothing.
Weiss is in complete shock that someone around Pyrrha's age can easily defeat her like that, just how powerful is Byleth exactly? Well, there's going to be Mock Battle coming up tomorrow, so she'll have a taste of her power soon enough. As Weiss was in her little space, Byleth, Sothis & Gayelette – who's behind Byleth - came in to check on them.
Sothis: You kids seem to be having fun over here, huh? Hopefully you're not slacking off on your training.
Ruby: Oh, Sothis. Prof. Eisner. Yeah, Pyrrha & Yang just finished their brief sparring match, with the former winning.
Byleth: I see, that's good. Just don't push yourselves too much, alright? The Mock Battle is tomorrow & we're gonna need you all at top shape for it!
Byleth notices the weird expression Weiss is giving her.
Weiss: Say, Prof…. Have you truly defeated Pyrrha?
Byleth: Oh, yeah… It was pretty easy, honestly.
Weiss: EASY?!
Byleth: Yeah, she did manage to get a one up on me, but there was little she could do.
Pyrrha: Yeah, Prof. Eisner's skills with the sword are incredible & she can fight from up close pretty well, too.
Weiss: I- I see… When you mentioned that she finished you off with a special technique, you're not implying about that so-called "Cursed Sword" of hers, are you?
Pyrrha: Yup, it's a very powerful sword. I've never seen a weapon that can generate so much power before, it was incredible!
It can't be! So the sword really is cursed! To think that someone this powerful could even exist; first Ruby & now Byleth?! Just how powerful the Huntsmen outside of Atlas really are & how did they become so strong?! The thoughts alone made Weiss shutter in fear & disbelief, she was far more outclassed than she initially realized! That's when Weiss noticed Gayelette behind Byleth.
Weiss: Wait… Gayelette? Is that you?
Gayelette comes out recognizing Weiss' voice; even after 5 years, she still recognizes her long-time friend & gets excited.
Gayelette: Weiss? Is that you?
Weiss: Yeah! It's me, Weiss Schnee!
Gayelette gets excited as she goes to hug her old friend, with Weiss hugging her back.
Gayelette: It's been 5 years, when I first saw you at Beacon, I barely recognized you. But now I know it's you, I missed you so much!
Weiss: I missed you too.
The 2 stay like that for a while as everyone else looks at them shockingly. For one: Weiss is being nice to someone for once, which is always a red flag to them & Second: This must be that Gayelette girl they heard about, Glynda's Daughter! They still couldn't believe it since Glynda looks barely pass her 20s due to how gorgeous she is, Weiss then lets go of Gayelette & introduces her to the rest of the classmates.
Weiss: Oh, pardon my rudeness. This is the first time you all meet her in person, this is Gayelette Goodwitch. She's Prof. Goodwitch's Daughter & a long-time friend of mine.
Gayelette steps forward towards the other students; while she's a little nervous since it's been a long time, she still introduces herself with good mannerism.
Gayelette: My name is Gayelette Goodwitch, it's a pleasure to meet you all.
As Gayelette bows down & greets the students, they can't help but greet her in the same level of mannerism as well.
Pyrrha: Oh no, the pleasure is all mine.
Jaune: Yeah, it's nice to meet you.
Gayelette: My Mother was busier than usual today, so she asked Prof. Byleth to take me to meet you all. It's an honor to meet the 2 top teams of The Trials of Emerald Valley in person, I'm looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow at The Mock Battle.
Ruby: *Smirks* Oh, are you? In that case, we won't disappoint you! We'll give you a sight to behold, right guys?
Most of the students cheered as they're confident & excited for the upcoming battle tomorrow, a mock battle between the 2 top teams of The Trials of Emerald Valley; Team RWBY & Team JNPR, each team having a professor to aid the team. Byleth for Team RWBY & Glynda for Team JNPR, the match can go either way. As the students are chatting with Gayelette, Nora noticed Sothis' new clothes from a closer look.
Nora: Huh? Hey, Sothis. Since when did you get that outfit? It looks really cute!
Sothis blushes at the compliment & looks away before answering Nora.
Sothis: Well, since your first day in class, I'm surprised that you didn't notice before.
Nora: Really? You look good in that, but your hair still looks like a mess.
Sothis: SHUT UP! MY HAIR WAS ALWAYS LIKE THIS!
Yang: Oh, come on; don't be like that. My hair can be a mess at times too, but I'm always very caring for it. If you want, I could help out with your own hair.
Sothis looks away blushing again as she holds her hair to cover her face.
Sothis: Well-… I'll think about your proposition…
Byleth: Well, I'm glad you kids are bonding so much as of late. But there's also another reason why Sothis & I came here… To discuss our House Name.
Ruby: "House Name"? What, our class is a house now?!
Needless to say, the students all look at Byleth confusingly when they hear her refer to her students as a "House", not necessarily in a literal sense. In Fódlan, groups of students were divided into "Houses"; The Red (Oh, I'm sorry. BLACK!) Eagle House, The Blue Lion House & The Golden Deer House. Each house having a specific theme & House Leader which was the heir to the House's respective nation. The Black Eagle House representing The Adrestian Empire, The Blue Lion House representing The Holy Kingdom of Faerghus & The Golden Deer House representing The Leicester Alliance.
The House Leader of the Black Eagle House is Edelgard, the Imperial Princess of Adrestia & her house mainly consists of kids who were children of Adrestia's Noble Council & leaders who help the Emperor, they were also very skilled in spellcasting for the most part. The House Leader of the Blue Lion House is Dimitri, Crown (& Only) Prince of The Holy Kingdom of Faerghus & his House clearly took after the chivalrous & knightly nature of Faerghus since they're either training to become knights themselves or are children of great knights from Faerghus, so they were very skilled in lances, as well as fighting with both heavy armor & on horseback. & Finally, there's The Golden Deer House, who has Claude as their House Leader; his house consists of children of the members of Leicester's League of Nobles, with the exceptions of Ignatz, Raphael & Leonie who are the only ones who aren't nobles. They're very skilled in fighting with their brains & from the distance, so using bows comes naturally for them.
Byleth was never a fan of Rhea's way of "ruling" Fódlan & how the Church had so much power, but having a sense of unity through the Houses is something that Byleth grew fond of as her time in Garreg Mach went on, so she wishes to do something similar here since these 8 will be her main (& for the moment, only) students she will work with.
Byleth: Oh, pardon me, I wasn't being specific. As you all probably know by now, I was a substitute teacher on a church for about a year or so & they had this unique way of differentiating the class of students, named "Houses". They usually consist of 8 kids, with a House Leader & being named after a combination between an animal & a color.
Jaune: Oh, that sounds like fun. But did you talk to His Majesty about it?
Byleth: I did & he agreed to it, by a lot in fact! It took me a while, but I think I've finally come up with something that fits you kids well.
Yang: About that, what exactly do you see us? As a whole group, I mean!
Byleth: Well, there are many things. But if I had to use just one example, I'd say that you're a group that's both united & wish to keep getting stronger together as a union, like a Butterfly.
Weiss: I beg your pardon, a "Butterfly"?
Byleth: Yes. I can understand your confusion when I used a Butterfly as an example to describe you all as a single unit, so allow me to explain it greater detail. Like a caterpillar, you all learn & grow in a slow, yet steady pace, yet you still make incredible progress! Then you become a cocoon once you hit a certain wall, but once you break that wall, you all become a beautiful Butterfly with gorgeous & powerful wings, ready to take the sky & fly away completely free! At least, that's what I think.
While it was a little confused at first, Byleth had a good point. It felt like The House Leader was the caterpillar who became the cocoon & the body of the Butterfly, while its wings are represented by the other students helping the Butterfly soar high into the skies. Ruby certainly liked that a lot.
Ruby: "Like a Butterfly who soars high into the sky once it breaks the walls that stood in its way." That's an awesome analogy, Prof. Eisner! So, what will you name our "House"?
As Ruby asks that, Sothis gives Byleth a folded banner, with Byleth opens it up & shows it to her students, who are very impressed by the gorgeous design of the flag. The flag is colored crimson red, just like Ruby's hair, with slowly fades into purple as it gets closer to the center of the flag. The animal that's in front of the flag is a giant Butterfly with wings that look like they're made out of bright red rose petals; the shape of the Butterfly also resembles Byleth's Crest of Flames as well, which was a nice touch.
Byleth: I asked Ozpin to help me design the flag since Sothis & I don't have any artistic skills, but Gayelette had. So she helped us design this beautiful flag that will represent us, ALL of us! From this day forward, we'll be known as "The Garnet Pappillon House"!
Editor's Note: Pappillon is Latin for Butterfly.
The shocked, yet amazed expressions that the students are giving speak for themselves. This is an amazing banner & now they have an awesome team name?! Byleth really is the Best Teacher Ever! & Given the design of the flag, it was very obvious who the House Leader was going to be.
Sothis: As for the House Leader, we had to pick between the 2 Team Leaders of Teams RWBY & JNPR… No offense, Jaune, but you were an obvious out on this.
Jaune: Hey! You don't have to be that meanabout it!
Weiss: Yet it makes sense, you're clearly the weakest one of us combat wise & you have the lowest scores out of the 8 of us as well.
Jaune: I was homeschooled for most of my life, thank you very much! *Sighs* Then again, I can't really complain considering who I was up against…
Byleth: Exactly! The House Leader of The Garnet Pappillons will be Ruby Rose, the leader of Team RWBY! Congrats, Ruby.
Oh great, not only is she the leader of a team of 4, but now the house leader of a class of 8 students! Ruby didn't know crap about leadership & she knew it! But many saw that potential in her, including Byleth herself, so she'll do her best & not disappoint her.
Ruby: Heh, just when I thought I already had enough on my plate as it is.
Blake: Can't say she's wrong, you were the reason we managed to pass the Trials of Emerald Valley during our initiation. You've proven yourself worthy, kid.
Ruby just blushes as she looks away & scratches her cheek sheepishly, with Yang pulling her in a hug to congratulate her.
Yang: Way to go, sis! You've earned it!
Ruby: {Ow! Can't- Breath~!}
Nora: Wait a second, you said that Gayelette made this flag?!
Gayelette: Yes, I did. It took me a very long time for me to finally get a design I was satisfied with, however.
Jaune: I can tell, you got great talent!
Gayelette looks away while blushing & smiling at the compliment, the others just smile & laugh as they congratulate Ruby for becoming the House Leader of The Garnet Pappillon House. Byleth can't help but reminisce her time with The Golden Deer as she watches her new students just having fun, this was just the beginning of their journey together & it would only get crazier from there.
Cut to later in the evening when Ruby & Weiss are on their own in the room reading some stuff; Weiss is studying as usual, but Ruby is reading a novel she read from time to time: The Warrior in the Woods. It was one of the things that was left by her late Mother.
Weiss: Let's see, so if I place my forces over here… No. According to this data, the enemy knows the area from inside out, so using the environment to my advantage won't work… So I must think of a different approach, but what?
Weiss' tasked with coming up with a strategy to take the fort & take down the enemy general, but she underestimated how good Byleth is at her job & Weiss isn't the best at strategizing either. In this scenario, the enemy forces know the battlefield from inside out, so any attempt in using the environment to her advantage are out the window, so she has to use her own forces & think of a plan with their skills in mind.
Ruby: Having trouble there, Weiss?
Weiss: Unfortunately, Yes. Prof. Eisner is clearly good at this; I can't think of a way to take this fort with such a small army like mine.
Ruby puts her novel to the side & gets out of her top bunk, looking at the task Weiss is taking, she wasn't wrong when she said that her forces were small since she only had a dozen or so pieces.
Ruby: Yeesh, you're definitely outnumbered here. Ya want me to give you a hand?
Weiss: I don't think it would change much, but very well. Test your luck, kid.
Ruby goes to the other table to grab a chair & sit next to Weiss as she looks at the battle that they have to deal with, Ruby then looks at the notes at Weiss's left.
Ruby: Hey Weiss, could pass me those notes over there?
Weiss looks at Ruby confusingly when she remembered that she was also given notes along with the map & pieces, Ruby takes a look at the notes & they're all basically DnD sheets that you write for your characters in tabletop games.
Ruby: Oh, I see the issue. You didn't take these notes into consideration, did you?
Weiss: No, I couldn't understand them very well.
Ruby: I see, but I know what to do now. I've played a lot of tabletop games back home, so I can understand this information pretty easily. Here's how it works.
Ruby starts explaining how the sheets are basically the data of each respective piece of her army, their skills, their stats, their strength & weaknesses, ETC. It sounded a lot easier once Ruby explained things in greater detail. They decided to put this to the test & in a matter of minutes, they form a strategy to take the enemy fort.
Weiss: A- Amazing! it barely took us 30 minutes & we took the fort just like that! Ruby, where did you learn to be so good at being a tactician?
Ruby just shrugs her shoulders as she goes to the other table to take her fireball sculpture & stares at it somberly for a moment.
Ruby: Don't know, I guess it just came to me naturally. Not every skill you get is through hard training, ya'know. Natural Talent is a thing that exists in everyone, even if it's small.
Weiss: I see, I suppose I can understand that much… Ruby?
Ruby doesn't pay attention to Weiss for a moment as she looks at the sculpture she keeps as a memento from a childhood friend of hers from long ago.
Ruby: (Cin… I wonder where you are right now, are you even alive?)
Weiss: Ruby!
Ruby snaps out of her daydreaming & looks back at Weiss confusingly.
Ruby: W- what? Is something wrong?
Weiss: Yeah, you were daydreaming. What happened?
Ruby looks back at her sculpture as she places back down at her table.
Ruby: It's-… It's nothing, just remembering an old friend.
Weiss: I see. Either way, you were a big help with my task here, so~…
Weiss looks away blushing, still not very good at showing gratitude. Ruby doesn't mind it that much since she's used to it by this point.
Ruby: I know, you're not good at saying "Thank you".
Weiss decided to do another assignment as Ruby goes back to reading her novel, the 2 kept chatting through the evening & were finally starting to form a bond with each other.
The next day, at 7 A.M. on March 31st of Valean Year 1180; The Mock Battle between Teams RWBY & JNPR will finally take place & will show how they'll fair against one another so far. They're all excited, yet nervous to test themselves in this team battle. Team RWBY is at their dormroom getting dressed as Byleth is talking to Ruby herself on the hallway just outside of her dormroom, with Ruby getting pumped for the fight.
Ruby: Yosha! The Mock Battle is about to begin! I've been waiting to break myself loose for a few days now, what about you, Prof. Eisner?
Byleth: I'm personally looking forward to it, just don't push yourself too much, alright?
Ruby: R- Right… I admit that I'm a little nervous given who we're up against, but with you fighting by our side, I'm sure we won't lose this battle. But I'm sure that it'll take all of our skill & prowess to defeat Team JNPR & Prof. Goodwitch, underestimating them would be a big mistake in our end.
As Ruby says that, Glynda & Jaune go towards them seeing how things are going for them, while also wanting to see of Team JNPR is fully ready.
Glynda: Well, it seems that we aren't the only ones who've woken up early today. Good morning Byleth, to you as well Ms. Rose.
Byleth: Good morning to you as well, Glynda. Is it safe to assume that you & Jaune are planning a strategy to defeat us?
Glynda: Correct & regardless of how strong you may be, we will destroy you! The best you can hope is learn a thing or 2 from this battle.
Ruby: Hah! You think you can defeat us that easily? Don't get so cocky, Mage General.
Jaune: We never said that it would be easy. I know how much of a great strategist you are, Ruby. I also know how powerful Prof. Eisner is, but I'm confident that we can give you a fight to remember, I won't be defeated so easily either!
Ruby: *Smirks* In that case, may the best Team win!
As both Team Leaders give each other their regards & shake hands, Glynda just shakes her head while smiling fondly at the 2.
Glynda: They've bonded with one another quite quickly, haven't they? That's a sign that your "Garnet Pappillons" are gonna go far, Byleth.
Byleth: Yeah, it's really nice… & Glynda… *Smirks* You better not hold back against me!
Glynda: *Smirks* Same to you!
The 2 shake hands as Glynda & Jaune go inside Team JNPR's dormroom to continue discussing their plans, with Byleth & Ruby doing the same.
Byleth: Anyways, back to the matter at hand; it's clear that Glynda will be our biggest obstacle. I know next to nothing about her, so any intel you have about her would help.
Ruby: All I know that she has a Semblance of Telekinesis, she can use this ability to move inanimate objects around & use them as a weapon, but that's all I know.
Byleth: So she has Telekinesis, huh? Interesting… Alright, here's what we're gonna do!
Byleth & Ruby discuss their plans to fight off Glynda & Team JNPR; meanwhile, the rest of Team RWBY are at their dorm getting themselves ready to fight. Weiss is filling her Myrtenaster with Dust Vials to use with her Glyphs, Blake is taking care of her katanas & Yang reloading the shotgun rounds of her Gauntlets.
Weiss: The Mage General & The Red Tornado, this is a very powerful combination. If we want to win, we cannot take those 2 lightly. I know that the Professor can take them on individually, but if she finds herself fighting off the both of them at the same time, she'd be in serious trouble.
Yang: You said that you & Glynda go way back, is she that powerful?
Weiss: Yes, she is… & She certainly got more powerful in the last 5 years, taking her on by yourself is suicide.
Yang: So how do we beat her?
Blake: The solution is simple, Dragon.
Yang & Weiss look at Blake curiously as she's taking care of her reverse-bladed katanas.
Blake: If you cannot cut someone down with brute force, you must attack them from somewhere they can't fight back.
Yang: You mean from behind? How are we supposed to do that?
Blake: *Smirks* You'll see when the time comes.
Weiss: Hold a moment, I do not recall you ever telling us about your Semblance.
Blake: That's right, Atlesian. I didn't & unlike you, I'm good at keeping a good cover.
Weiss gets a little triggered by that jab knowing what Blake meant as Yang tries to keep the 2 from being at each other's throats again.
Yang: Alright, chill out! Anyways, why do you keep your Semblance a secret? It's not something seriously personal, is it?
Blake sheathes her reverse-bladed katanas as she stands up & adjusts her battle kimono before answering Yang's question.
Blake: Whether it's very personal or not doesn't matter, just focus on the battle ahead, let me do my own thing & we'll just continue our daily routine.
That answer didn't satisfy Yang one bit, neither did it satisfy Weiss as her suspicions about The Young Ronin only increased after she said that. Blake starts heading towards the door of their dormroom.
Blake: I'm gonna take some fresh air before we head out, I'll wait for you guys at the entrance downstairs.
Blake then leaves as Byleth & Ruby followed up by entering the dormroom to discuss their strategy together, with Ruby looking confused as Byleth looked suspiciously as The Young Ronin exits the scene. As Blake's leaving the dorm building, we get deeper into some of her inner-thoughts.
Blake: (The moment my Semblance is revealed to the public, my true identity will be revealed to those people, I cannot let that happen!... [Eve: The Manslayer] cannot come back to this world! No matter what!)
It seems that there is more to Blake Belladonna than initially realized, she's supposably this mysterious figure known as "Eve: The Manslayer", but what does have to do with her Semblance & what is her Semblance to begin with?! & Who truly is Blake Belladonna? She's apparently a Faunus Princess from Kuo Kuana, but also this being called "Eve: The Manslayer"?! What does any of this mean?! Unknown to Blake, her biggest fears will slowly come to bite her in the ass in the very near future.
Cut to about an hour or so later, at South of The Kingdom Capital of Vale, The Mock Battle between Teams RWBY & JNPR will take place in a big open field that's divided by a large lake & the small surrounding woods. On the South, we have Team RWBY & Byleth Eisner, who are preparing themselves for the battle ahead; on the North, we have Team JNPR & Glynda Goodwitch, who are looking around the surrounding area & analyzing it to see if they can find anything of use. The Mock Battle is being broadcasted by the few cameras around the area & some of the students will be watching this great battle in the Amphitheater. Velvet is there watching it, alongside the rest of her team that she talked about previously; a large man with short black hair, green armor pieces & a large great-sword hanging on his back; a black man with red hair & sleeveless red shirt, red bracelets & scars around his face, he appears to be blind given his completely whited eyes & finally, a young girl around Byleth's height, if not a little taller who has short dark hair, shades & dresses out like a fashionista, she's also carrying a large very of sorts. Those are the members of the second-year team at Beacon Academy & one of the best Huntsmen in Training of this generation: Team CFVY.
The objective of this test is very simple: all participants will be carrying a bracelet that reads their Aura. This will serve 2 purposes, 1: it's a way to check on their own Aura in battle more easily since using their scrolls to do that in the middle of the fight leaves you open for attacks & 2: It's a way to find the Aura Signatures of your enemies. While not at the scale of The Emerald Valley, this land is still pretty big & quite the labyrinth, getting lost here is very easy. Everyone is wearing a bandana on their head with their signature emblem marked on it, the team who either gets all of the enemy's bandanas to their own "Fort" or has more bandanas before time runs out in 3-hour time limit is declared the victor! However, Grimm live in this area as well & although they're not necessary to pass the test, they cannot let their guard down at any moment! We then cut to Ruby's side as she starts stretching herself & getting excited.
Ruby: Heheh, The Mock Battle is finally here! I admit, I'm a little nervous in fighting some very strong opponents this early on… But despite that, I'm getting excited!
Yang: Ruby, don't get too careless or go too far off on your own. This isn't a typical 1v1 match, ya'know.
Ruby: *Smirks* Coming from you, that's pretty funny. You're the careless one here, sis. All we gotta do is take them on while they're alone & go for the prize! With my speed, your power, Weiss' support capabilities & Prof. Eisner's experience on the battlefield, I'm confident enough that we can win! & Come on, Yang. You're pretty fired up too, aren't you?
Yang smirks confidently as she slams her fists together creating a small shockwave.
Yang: Of course, I am! now's my chance to go at it guns blazing & with everything I got!
Weiss sighs in frustration as she sees The Rose Xiao-Long Sisters taking this way too lightly; Byleth however is more so focused on Blake at the moment. While she did help Weiss a few days earlier, she didn't get the chance to talk to Blake about whatever issues she has. Blake is fully aware of the skeptical stare that The Ashen Demon is giving her, but decided to pay no mind as she adjusts her hat to block her soft hazel eyes from the harsh sunlight.
Team JNPR is on the other side of the field preparing themselves, Nora has a few Thunder Dust Crystals on her belt & Ren is looking around to see if he can use the environment to his advantage. Glynda adjusts her hair before talking to her students.
Glynda: Team JNPR, hear my words! Our objective is to take the bandanas of our enemies & bring them back to our fort in 3 hours' time, our opponents are powerful individuals who are very skilled. But as long as we don't falter, I know that our chance of victory will be at hand!
Team JNPR: Yes Ma'am!
Ozpin adjusts the microphone to begin announcing the match.
Ozpin: Allow me to briefly go over the rules for a moment; each team will be carrying 5 colored headbands, one tied in each of the team member's head. Byleth's team will be wearing bright red headbands, while Glynda's team will be wearing dark blue headbands. The objective of this Mock Battle here: The first is to get all of the opposing headbands to your own fort or having more headbands than the other team once the timer reaches 0; however, if all of the members of one team have their Auras broken, that will also be considered a win condition as well, but that is not the main objective of this test. Now then, on your marks, get set… & BEGIN!

Ruby is the first to go as she runs through the woods at blitzing speed, with Yang & Blake following suit. The strategy they have is have Ruby & Yang take the opposing side head on, Blake takes pop-shots & take their headbands by surprise & have the remaining 2 – Weiss & Byleth – back on the fort on a defensive position. However, Ruby takes notices of something coming towards her, she jumps down before she was slammed by Nora who came at her like a lightning bolt. Ruby takes a defensive position as Nora looks at her & glares at her in the eye.
Nora: You may be the fastest thing alive on a regular basis, but can you take me on while I'm supercharged?! I think not!
Nora's Semblance is called "Lightning Rod": it allows her to absorb electricity either through actual lightning bolts or through absorbing Thunder Dust from her hammer & absorbing the energy of Thunder Dust Crystals. Because she developed her body to be accustomed to absorbing so much voltage that would normally kill someone, she can absorb & generate electricity with little effort, not even Nora herself knows how much electricity she can absorb all at once.
Ruby: Oh, I get it. You absorbed some electricity to give yourself a speed boost earlier, didn't you?
Nora: *Smirks* My speed isn't the only thing that increased through all of this lightning, WATCH THIS!
Nora spins her hammer around before swinging at it from a distance, creating a giant shockwave towards Ruby's direction. Even though she was able to dodge it just in the nick of time, it was extremely close & the damage & impact of that swing alone was enough to completely obliterate some of the surrounding trees.
Ruby: Holy crap!
Ruby looks back at Nora who takes an offensive stance, Ruby was extremely foolish to underestimate Nora's power when she's supercharged, given how strong she is already. She can't take her lightly, but there's no way she can take her on like that… unless...
Ruby: Hey Nora, if you think you can keep up with my speed, THEN TRY CATCHING ME!
Ruby runs circles around Nora which makes a little dizzy before running towards a certain direction, with Nora following suit once she absorbs another Thunder Dust Crystal until it becomes a regular null rock due to using too much power in that last swing. She quickly catches up with the reaper & tries to take her out, but to no avail.
Nora: Hah-hah! Just when I thought that taking you out would be too easy, this is gonna be fun! How about we have a little speed competition?
Ruby: Took the words right out of my mouth!
Due to being the most hard-hitting member of Team JNPR, Ruby is now tasked to keep Nora away from her teammates as much as possible as the both of them race one another through these fields. In the meantime, Yang is already going from tree to tree, trying to find where that shockwave from earlier went, she's worried that her sister might've bitten more than she can chew. She can't seem to spot anyone, so she just goes on ahead, not knowing that Ren is following her through the shadows. Once she lands on the ground to look around, she has this deep feeling that someone is following her.
Yang: The hell? What's this presence? Hm…
Ren slowly walks closer to her while carrying a few small Wind Dust Capsules in the shape of spheres, Yang hears Ren approaching her & cocks up her Ember Celica to fire at where she heard the noise.
Yang: I knew it, SHOW YOURSELF!
Yang fires Ember Celica on her left, only for her to be greatly pushed back by a giant gust a wind that suddenly came out of nowhere. She's slammed into one of the trees, but quickly gets back up as she starts looking around nervously.
Yang: (What the hell was that? Did I hit Wind Dust somewhere? But how, there isn't any Dust around here… So what could've-)
Before she could think of anything further, she hears the sound of reloading guns & dodges the incoming barrage of bullets that are firing around her like a circle. She managed to see the dust coming off from the invisible feet running circles around her, so she takes a few pop-shots towards them & the one who jumps back & lands on a tree branch above is none other than Lie Ren, who used his Semblance of Tranquility to make himself blend with the background.
Ren: Well, this is going to cause some issues. I was really hoping to take your headband without engaging into a close confrontation.
Yang: Spare me your tricks, Ninja-Boy! Why don't you come down here & fight me?!
Ren: Come down there? I'd love to, but~…
Ren then takes out a few throwing daggers from his hand, 3 specifically. They appear to have a weird paper tied on the end of each of the dagger's hilt, Ren throws the daggers around Yang, which makes her confused as to why he didn't just aim directly ay her. But that's when she realizes something as she's about to jump out of the way.
Yang: Shit, those papers are- Goddamnit!
[Music End]
The moment Yang begin to jump, Lie Ren pointed his pistols at one of the papers & shot a Fire Dust Bullet at it. Those are actually Fire Dust Explosive Papers that people from Anima commonly use, they explode once they're lighted on fire as it is the case here, where Yang has to block herself from a massive explosion that takes the attention of both sides who are at the fort, mainly Jaune's.
Glynda: Well, Mr. Arc; it looks like your plan on taking one of them out with Mr. Ren's explosive daggers paid off.
Jaune: I'm kinda hoping that it was Yang who Ren captured, having her get weakened from that would help us a lot should she try taking us on later. *Takes out his scroll* Nora, how's your status?
|| Nora: I'm here, Ruby's seriously fast here! But she's no match for me, I knew she would try to drag me away from the others, but I let her do that!... Let's she where she's leading me too, Hahahah! ||
Jaune: Understood, over & out! *Puts the scroll away* Knowing them, Weiss is probably back at the fort with Byleth. But we don't have to defend our own fort, we just need to take their headbands, right?
Glynda: Correct, they plan on lure us into a trap. But with Ms. Rose & Ms. Xiao Long being occupied at the moment, we shouldn't have too much trouble with the others.
That's when Glynda uses her Semblance of telekinesis to levitate a large boulder from far away, she pulls towards their direction & jumps on top of it. Both Jaune & Pyrrha are incredibly impressed & terrified of Glynda's sheer power with her Semblance.
Jaune: Ho- holy shit! did you just do-… THAT- without even breaking a sweat?!
Glynda: *Nods* My Telekinesis can manipulate any inanimate object. Come, you 2; we'll fly ourselves towards Prof. Eisner's direction!
Pyrrha: Wait, seriously?! Well, okay.
Pyrrha jumps very high & lands on the levitating boulder, Jaune is still a little frozen in amazement from Glynda's feat, but how in the hell is he suppose to get up there?! He can't jump that high & none of them have anyway to pull him there either. That's when Glynda snaps him out of his little inner space.
Glynda: Mr. Arc! What in the bloody hell are you doing? We need you up here, quickly!
Jaune: Huh?! Oh- right, I'm com-
[Music: "Borderline of Madness" from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4]
Once Jaune snaps back to reality from Glynda calling his name, he prepares to (try) to jump high to the boarder. Only for him to suddenly get both his neck & waist wrapped around in a tight elastic black ribbon, making him fall to the ground while he tries to rip out the binds wrapped around his neck, which is actually chocking him a bit.
Jaune: Argh!
Pyrrha: JAUNE!
They're all taken by surprise as Jaune is then being pulled into the woods; Glynda wastes no time as she uses the small rocks on the boulder as well as the growing plant life to make a few sharp flying spears that she uses it to fire at where Jaune is being pulled from, creating a giant burst of smoke. When the smoke clears, nobody's there & Pyrrha gets very concerned for her leader & partner.
Pyrrha: What happened?! What in the world was that?
Glynda thinks for a moment before she realizes something crucial.
Glynda: No! How could I have been so foolish?! I recognize those bindings; those were from Ms. Belladonna's Gambol Shroud!
Pyrrha: Blake?! But- how did she come here so quickly?! It doesn't make sense!
Pyrrha shakes her head before deciding to jump off the boarder & going to see what's going on, with Glynda trying to stop her, but to no avail.
Glynda: Wait, Ms. Nikos! Don't waste your breath on him, Ms. Belladonna's after you!
Pyrrha: I'm sorry, Prof. Goodwitch. But I can't leave him behind!
Pyrrha's "I'm sorry" counter: 9
Pyrrha runs deep into the woods as Glynda curses her for doing so. Damn, now she'll have to go on by herself; when Pyrrha does join the woods, things become seriously tense.
Cut to the woods where Jaune is being dragged deep into the forest, but he's able to draw his sword with his free hand & cut the bindings with a single swing despite the trouble. He stands his ground as he looks around looking for his opponent; there was only one person he knew that use binding cloths in their fighting style.
Jaune: Alright Blake, come out! I know you're hiding around here somewhere, so why don't you come out & fight me?!
He tries to act tough, but in reality, he's scared. This is a chance to prove himself worthy of getting into Beacon Academy, but fighting someone like this is the worst-case scenario, especially if it's someone as skilled as Blake. He knows how good she is, but this is where he'll see the horror she represents in the shadows as he starts hearing her chuckle.
Blake: Hahahahahah… Oh, Jaune… Out of all of the prey I was able to catch, it just had to be you, didn't it? Then again, this might work for my benefit…
Jaune: *Gulps* Damnit, show yourself already!
Blake: You're by far the weakest newcomer around here, but even I can't deny your skills in tactics. You're good, too good!... It's easy to see that you analyzed the battle styles of the others & developed a strategy to defeat them all one by one with tactics that would certainly leave them backed into a corner… BUT!
Jaune then turns around as he hears something from the bushes, it's Blake! But it doesn't look like she was kneeled down to hide in the bushes & suddenly decided to stand up, no… It felt like it was something different, like she literally came out from those bushes. But that's not what makes Jaune shiver in even more fear, that would be the look Blake is giving him. Those sharp, shiny golden eyes that are glancing at him like a predator is glancing at their prey before they strike for the kill.
Blake: Despite your efforts, you could never have taken me into account for this plan of yours, for I've never revealed my Semblance to anyone!
Blake then smirks maliciously as she slowly draws out her blades & slowly approaches Jaune & before he could react, Blake suddenly appears behind her, sheathing back her blades, only for Jaune to suddenly have his Aura shattered in a single blow & begin to lose consciousness.

15 minutes later into the woods & Pyrrha hasn't found him yet, neither has she found Blake. Looks like she has to rely on reading their Auras to locate them, Pyrrha closes her eyes & clears her mind. After a while, she finds Jaune's Aura from far away, but it appears that his Aura Barrier is broken, damn!
Pyrrha: Oh no… Hold on, Jaune! I'm coming!
With no time to spare, Pyrrha parkours her way to where she located Jaune. Only to be horrified at the sight she witnessed when she finally arrived. Jaune was wrapped around in tight bindings, bloodied & bruised, he was hanging on the trees by these bindings like a bug being trapped in a spider's web. The sight alone makes Pyrrha shiver at the thought of what happened here, but at least Jaune doesn't look seriously hurt.
Pyrrha: Jaune!
Pyrrha quickly jumped high in the air & cut the binding ribbons down, making Jaune fall into the ground & Pyrrha seeing if he's okay.
Jaune: {Ow-… Damn, she's too-…}
Pyrrha: Jaune, talk to me! What happened?!
At that moment, she felt a sudden shiver down her spine as she felt a horrifying presence lurking around them both. This presence, this feeling, is that- Blake?! Pyrrha quickly gets back up & gets into her stance, but she does her best to keep a level head as she has fought a couple of fighters who fight using the environment to their advantage in the past, let's see if this will help her against Blake.
Blake: Well, look who it is, Ms. "Invincible Girl" herself… Will you stand up & fight? Or will you take your friend to somewhere safe?
Pyrrha: Tch, so this is how you fight, huh?! Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere without your headband! You may be a fellow classmate, Blake… But I won't let you get away so easily, especially after defeating my leader & partner like that.
Blake: Aw~, how cute! You wanna avenge your little friend that was defeated so easily, I was mainly using him as bait to lure you & Glynda in… Well, at least one of you were dumb enough to take the bait, most people would leave those who are deadweight behind & go on with the mission.
Pyrrha: *Smirks* What kind of teammate would I be if I let one of my friends down like this? You'd understand, right? You'd do the same for your teammates, wouldn't you?
Blake: In a way, yes. But in another way, no. While I like their company, I wouldn't risk my neck for them. Sacrificing yourself for the sake of others never ends well for anyone, dying a "hero's death" is nothing short of a fantasy that never has long-term benefits & causes more harm than good. If they were holding me back from doing what must be done, I wouldn't think twice about leaving them behind. Unlike them, my path is not a romanticized story where everyone lives happily ever after like in a cheesy fairy tale.
Pyrrha is shocked to hear something like this from Blake, did she really think that? Would she truly abandon others if she saw them as a liability? Blake finally emerges as she suddenly appears from one of the trees behind Pyrrha, the latter turns around to see the former adjusting her hair before making eye contact with her opponent. All the while holding Jaune's bandana on her right hand, which makes Pyrrha a little more triggered.
Pyrrha: Do you truly believe what you're saying? Would you really leave your friends behind if they were "getting in the way of your own goals"?
Blake: Without question, they would most certainly do the same to me if they saw my true colors; all humans are the same deep down. They're flawed idealists who never change or accept the reality of the world, they use those around them to achieve their goals… Humans are cruel, humans are deceitful, humans are scum.
Pyrrha looks at Blake with a serious expression, she clearly doesn't approve of what she thinks or says… Yet for some strange reason, Pyrrha can tell that something feels off about her. She can't exactly put her finger as to why, but for some reason, she doesn't fully believe what Blake is saying & even starts having a dry smile on her face, which takes Blake by surprise.
Blake: What's with that smile on your face?
Pyrrha: Oh, nothing… I just think it's funny that you think that, cause the way you act around Ruby & especially Yang don't really reflect that philosophy of yours.
Blake: Tch, just keep your mouth shut & hold still as I take you down & take away your headband, I promise it'll be painless if you cooperate.
Pyrrha: I'm Sorry Blake, but I can't defeat you & help my friend if I pull back now.
Pyrrha's "I'm sorry" counter: 10
Blake just scoffs at the idea & unsheathes her reverse-bladed katanas.
Blake: It can never go this easy, huh? Don't come crying & say I didn't give you an out!
Both sides glare at one another as their intense battle is about to begin, who will strive in this bout? The Warrior who fights with honor & everything she got or the quiet hunter who takes down their prey from the shadows?
Cut back to Ruby still running around the field trying to take Nora's attention & keep her as far away from everyone else as possible, but it's kinda obvious that this is exactly what Nora wants as Ruby is starting to lose her speed a little bit.
Ruby: (Crapbaskets! No wonder Ren forbids her from having caffeine, her energy fuel is massive! Anytime I try to shoot her with my sniper, it barely does anything! There's gotta be something I can do, but what?!)
That's when ruby stops at a high hill to catch her breath for a moment to look at the other side of the hill below, it's a lake & it's huge! Ruby then remembers that when electricity gets more powerful if you conduct it in a pool of water, like a lake. While Nora can absorb a lot of electricity, she probably can't absorb so much in one go. That's when Nora arrives just behind Ruby & she's all out of Thunder Dust Crystals to absorb, so she can't use them to give her a power boost. But her current strength is more than enough to take Ruby out in 1 or 2 hits from that hammer & she knows it.
Nora: Okay, enough running around missy! I finally got you backed into a corner! I admit that it was fun chasing you down like a game of cat & mouse, but now it's all over for you! As queen of the castle, I must carry out your sentence… Nothing personal, Rubes.

Ruby just sighs as she adjusts her hood before talking to Nora.
Ruby: Yare Yare, this is quite the situation I got myself into. It's clear that in a real fight, I don't stand a chance against you, your Semblance of Lightning Rod might as well not have any weaknesses… But in the Rose Xiao-Long Household- No! In the Rose Bloodline, we have a tendency to never give up & always keep moving forward when the odds are against us… & Just for situations like these, I always have one trick left under my sleeve!
Nora: *Raises an eyebrow* Oh yeah? & What's that?
Ruby smirks as she takes out a Water Dust Crystal & passingly throws it to Nora, who catches it with easy & is confused as to why she gave her Water Dust; only for Ruby to aim her sniper at the Crystal.
Ruby: If your opponent is too strong for you, then use their strength against them!
Ruby shoots a Thunder Dust Bullet at the crystal which explodes, making Nora soaked in water. But Ruby shot Thunder Dust & water absorbs electricity & makes it stronger, so it should make Nora much more powerful in theory, right?... WRONG!
Nora: AAAAARGH!
Nora screams in pain & falls to her knees due to the surge of electricity spreading through the water is far too powerful for Nora to absorb it all in one go & she already used her Aura to absorb those Thunder Dust Crystals from earlier. Ruby's plan worked as she smirks confidently & makes sure to gain some distance before she's affected by the spreading sparks as well.
Nora: W- what is this?! I should be immune to lightning, why does this hurt so much?!
Ruby: Oh~, you didn't know? Water is a good way to spread electricity around & it can make the electricity itself a lot stronger depending on how much water there is. But it becomes so powerful to the point of being hard to keep it under control, something I thought of maybe testing on you & lo & behold, it worked!
Nora only gets angrier at the response as to why did electricity of all things caused her such pain, looks like there really is a limit on how much electricity she can absorb all at once after all. Without thinking straight, she prepares her hammer to charge at Ruby & smash her into pieces. (Metaphorically speaking since she didn't want to kill Ruby… Probably) But Ruby is prepared for whatever's coming.
Nora: Okay, it's been a long time since someone dealt this much damage to me, let alone made me this angry. I hope you enjoyed it; cause now I'm coming for payback!
Nora jumps high into the air & gets really to slam Ruby down with her hammer, but Ruby reveals that she can separate her entire body into a burst of petals with her Semblance; completely shocking Nora as she lets her guard down for a brief moment.
Nora: WHAT?!
Ruby smirks as she used this opportunity to take Nora's headband as her body is starting to form back into its normal state & as that happens, Nora slams her hammer into the hill & completely shatters it; making them both fall alongside the falling rocks as they fall to the lake below, but Ruby isn't done just yet.
Ruby: This was a fun clash, Nora. But I'm afraid it's game over for you, SAYONARA!
Ruby then spins around & prepares to send a barrage of Aura infused kicks at some of the falling rocks to make them crash into Nora as she's falling, as well as a way to help Ruby get back to safer ground.
Ruby: BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA-BAKA!
Ruby's "BAKA Rush" counter: 1
Ruby kicks the falling rocks that slam down to Nora & makes her fall even harder to the lake below, Ruby lands on another hill as she watches Nora fall into the lake & create a giant splash & even some falling drops of water like if it was raining for a brief time. Nora's Aura finally breaks as she crawls back to the land, but loses consciousness after absorbing so much electricity & the damage Ruby dealt to her. Ruby finally breathes a sigh of relief as she can finally relax a little bit.

Ruby: Alright, that's one down. But I'm worried about Weiss & Prof. Eisner, something tells me that they're about to get into some serious trouble; I better get moving & fast!
Ruby stretches herself after catching her breath & starts running back to where her fort is, unknown to the fact that Glynda is slowly approaching the others while she uses her telekinesis to use a large boulder as transport, the test was not going to be that easy.
The Mock battle kicks off into quite the start! Only 1 hour into this clash & we already have 2 of the 10 participants out of commission, Yang is still struggling with Ren & his sneak attacks with paper bombs & his Tranquility; while Pyrrha is facing off against Blake as she begins to reveal just how deadly she is. Author's Notes: Man, that was thrilling, yet HORRIBLE at the same time. I hate writing action scenes SO MUCH!... Although i had fun thinking of ways of how this Mock Battle will go, actually WRITTING it in nothing but words SUCK! But i can sense an improvement here, which is good. Now onto the inevitable questions i'm gonna have
1: How come Ren is giving Yang so much trouble? Well, consider the context at hand. For starters: this is still at a point of the story where Yang is VERY overconfident in her abilities, ESPECIALLY her Semblance & she's still acting on impulse & emotion as oppose to having to THINK before acting. I wanted something early on for her to start realizing that fact & given how Ren's Semblance is LITERALLY masking his emotions to the point where he LITERALLY becomes invinsible to the human eye, i thought it would work well. Also consider the environment where they're fighting, a very lush, thight forest with many trees, but very little ground for you to run straight ahead without hitting into something, but can use the trees to your advantage if you know what you're doing. Since Ren is a NINJA, this would be a PERFECT place for him to fight someone like Yang who prefers a more OPEN space to fight. Also, expect more Dust Tools like those Fire Dust Paper Bomb Daggers Ren uses, cause there's gonna be more examples as the story progresses.
2: How come Blake is THIS brutal? Isn't she just suppose to want equality? Well, YES! But actually NO! This will get explained in greater detail in the following 2 chapters, but although Blake's ideology makes sense in context, it also contradicts her main goal & no, this isn't an accident on my end, this is an INTENTIONAL DECISION on my end. Blake's goals are Faunus Equality, but much like Weiss, she has a deep grudge that clouds her better judgement & it's agurably WORSE in Blake's case. As for her Brutality... Well, let's just say that i've been watching Rurounin Kenshin as of late & i'm basing Blake after Kenshin Himura here.
3: How come Nora got harmed by electricity if she's suppose to be immune to it & how come she can absorb Dust Crystals if suppose to be very painful to her? The answer is simple, For one: She isn't IMMUNE to lightning, she can ABSORB IT, YES! But there's a limit on how much she can absorb it in one go & we saw that in Canon V8, I love that moment to death & Sarah was INCREDIBLE in that scene... But if i HAD to nitpick (& this really IS a nitpick, i'll admit) Is that this was the FIRST scene where we get a definite limit on how much electricity Nora can take it in one go... & it was in Volume 8, the EIGHT SEASON of the show. If there was an earlier scene where she DID slightly bit more than she can chew & got injured for it, making the scene in V8 more powerful since by then, we would KNOW her limit & that what she was about to do is pratically suicide. As for absorbing Dust Crystals, Nora isn't LITERALLY INJECTING THEM into her body like Hazel does, that's just stupid & should be his own thing. What Nora IS doing is absorbing the Electric Energy INSIDE of the Thunder Dust Crystals until they become normal null rocks. As we all know, Dust have temportary effects, it doesn't RUN for ever & doesn't have INFINITE Fuel. So i can't see why someone who can absorb a specific element like Lightning can't just TAKE the Thunder Dust Crystal & absorb the artificial Lightning INSIDE of said crystal until it runs dry, there's also the fact that Nora ALREADY does that in a sense with both her hammer as well as getting shot by Thunder Dust Bullets, so absorbing the artificial energy of the Dust Crystals as well doesn't sound THAT crazy... Besides, it's ANIME! DON'T TAKE IT TOO SERIOUSLY!
& 4: Will Yang have her own "Ora Ora Rush" since you gave both that & a JoJo Theme for Ruby? Short answer... Yes!
