Paige was sitting in the common room. Tired of the weeks she had at Hogwarts, she was avoiding Harry like the plague.. While simultaneously wanting to talk to him, kiss him, love him..
Her classes were extremely difficult. She most enjoyed Hagrid's class, she was almost the only one taking his class, except for a few Hufflepuffs. Harry, Ron and Hermione were not in this class, sad for Hagrid, good for Paige.. She likes his classes although he was quite sad, not only about the golden trio. But his giant spider was apparently very sick and dying... Paige did find it hard to feel sad for him about that but she did try.
The common room was completely empty, it was late so everybody was already gone to bed. She was trying to finish her Potions homework. A loud sign came out of her mouth.
'Focus, please.' Paige said to herself. But she couldn't, she just felt nervous and uneasy.
Paige stood up and walked out of the common room. She needed some fresh air, the astronomy tower would be an excellent place to get some rest. She kept on walking when she heard rocks moving. Dumbledore's office had just opened and someone walked out of it.
'Harry.' she whispered with worry, with an annoyed look on her face. She had been able to avoid him all this time. She looked behind her, 'Damn it' Paige realised Harry needed to walk this way for him to get back to his common room. She looked back at him but he was gone.
'Hi,' Paige turned around again, startled. Harry was standing with his cloak in his arms.
Paige didn't know what to say but stuttered, 'Hi..'
'What are you doing here?' Harry asked, leaning against the wall. Trying to keep his cool. He felt a huge yearn to hug her, kiss her even.
Paige hesitated but answered anyway. 'Getting some fresh air, you?'
Harry hesitated as well. 'Me too.'
'Right...' Paige said not quite believing him. 'Then way did you come from Dumbledore's office?'
Harry looked nervous, scratching the back of his head. 'No reason, we just chat sometimes.' He said, avoiding her eyes.
'Right, well that's better than last year...' Paige mumbled still not believing him but not wanting to push it on.
Harry started lifting his hand towards her face. Paige froze for a moment, if she waited long enough it would happen.. He would touch her. She wanted that so badly.
Just a moment she wished, but then she snapped out of it. She grabbed his hand. 'Harry, please.'
He didn't say anything, he just kept her hand in his. 'I don't feel you anymore and I don't like it Paige. I don't know how you are doing, what you are feeling..' Harry mumbled.. looking at her hand. 'I used to feel you at all time, knowing how you felt every time of the day. I want it back..'' He moved closer towards her. 'I want you back..' He kept moving closer, their lips were so close. She could smell him, he smelled so good.
'This is a bad idea.' Paige almost whispered, feeling the immense yearn to give in. 'Very bad..'
'Who's there?' A loud voice sounded. Paige looked worried but Harry directly got in action and threw his cloak around them both.
They stayed quiet watching a ravenclaw prefect walk past them. Paige's heart was going crazy. She kept staring at Harry's face. He was more handsome than he has ever been before. If she wasn't mistaken he had gotten taller.
He looked at Paige when the Prefect had walked on. His eyes, beautiful green. Messy hair. Paige couldn't keep her eyes off him. She moved closer, not able to resist.
Their lips slowly but surely touched. Eyes closed as she felt his hand on her cheek, the other coming around her hip. Paige her hand laid on his chest. Feeling his heartbeat going just as fast as hers.
His lips slowly moved from her lips to her cheek and ear. 'I will never give up on us.' He whispered.
She felt him move away. The cloak slipped off of her. She opened her eyes, he was gone.
Paige leaned against the wall and slid down to the ground.
Wishing the moment could have lasted longer. She mustn't slip up again, she had to stay away.
Paige was sitting at breakfast looking at Harry. He was busy with his potions book, she saw he had his new one as well. Paige frowned, he was switching the covers.
'Good Morning,' Draco said, taking a seat next to Paige.
Paige looked up. 'Morning... you look awful.'
'Great way to greet a friend.' Draco said, putting some food on his plate.
'Well not the greatest way but a pretty honest one.' Paige smirked. Draco didn't say anything after that.
Paige signed looking back at Harry. Ron was sitting next to him looking quite awful himself.
Ginny walked towards them and hit Ron on his back, 'Good luck with the tryouts, Ron' She said and smiled at Harry.
Paige again felt a wave of jealousy inside her. 'Draco, are you going to go with me to the tryouts?
'No, not feeling like it.' Draco said, looking at his plate.
Paige frowned. 'But don't you wanna see people making a fool of themselves.'
Draco looked up. 'No I'm busy.'
'With what?' Paige said, a bit irritated.
'That's none of your business' He said, stood up again and walked off without having taken one bit of food.
Paige stood up as well wanting to go after him but changed her mind. She instead followed the rest of the students that went to watch the quidditch tryouts.
Paige went and sat alone on the tribune near Hermione who had a worried look on her face.
Paige blinked a few times to see if she saw right, Harry was the new captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team. 'I'm not surprised.' Paige said to herself, smiling a bit.
A lot of people trying out did make a fool of themselves and if Paige saw correctly a lot of girls were fangirling about Harry. Giggling, smiling and waving at Harry like he was the most popular kid in school.
'It's because people think he is the chosen one.' Pansy said, placing herself behind Paige.
'Chosen one?' Paige asked, looking confused at her Slytherin friend.
'Didn't you read the daily profit this summer?'
'I'm sorry, I was busy being tortured.' Paige said casually.
Pansy looked shocked, 'What?'
Paige laughed painfully, 'I mean not being at Hogwarts with my friends is torture.'
Pansy didn't look any less worried. 'You did come in here looking absolutely awful, and you are not friends with the Gryffindors anymore.. Paige, I'm hearing some strange rumours.' She said pretty fast. Paige's mouth hanged open a bit.
'Well…' Paige stuttered. 'What kind of rumours?'
'About that you had a sister and, well, that you set your old school on fire-' Pansy got cut-off by Paige holding up her hand.
'Well thank you Pansy, I don't need to know anything more.' Paige sounded down. She looked at her hands not paying any attention to what was going on at the field. When she looked up it was already Ron his turn. She glanced over at Hermione who looked really nervous.
She looked back at Ron and felt quite nervous herself, Ron himself looked worst of all. But to everyone's surprise (Ron the most) he did extremely well. He stopped all that he had coming at him and at the end of it all he looked quite satisfied. But now it was McLaggen's turn. Paige took a good look at him, he looked a bit more fit then Ron and if she looked correctly he looked quite cocky as well.
He stopped one, two and three but weirdly enough he didn't stop the forth one. Paige was surprised, there was no way he would have missed it. She glances over at Hermione again who surprisingly puts away her wand.
Paige put one and one together and couldn't help but smile a bit.
'Are you coming?' Pansy spoke suddenly, making Paige jump a little. She turned around and looked at Pansy. Then nodded and stood up with her.
They were making their way back to the castle and Paige gave one more glance at Ron expecting Hermione to be by his side congratulating him with his win but it was another girl who was standing with him to congratulate him. She quickly looked around to look for Hermione but she was nowhere to be found.
Few hours later Paige was hanging out at the library looking for a book to help her with her potion's homework. She noticed 3 people staring at her from across the room. She instantly recognises them as Ron, Hermione and of course Harry. She tried to ignore them, Harry probably told them what happened the other day and now they wanted to talk to her about it. At least that's what Paige thought.
After a while she couldn't ignore them any longer and signed them to come to her. Annoyed yet curious, she asked. 'Why are you guys staring at me?'
She saw them hesitate for a moment when Ron said quickly. 'Harry wants to ask you something.'
Raising an eyebrow, Paige looked at Harry. Remembering the sweet kiss they had just the other day, how badly she wanted to be friends with them again. Be with them every day, being with Harry every day. She got snapped out of her thoughts when Harry started to speak.
'Do you know anyone called the Half-Blood Prince?'
Paige looked confused. 'The Half-Blood Prince?' She asked.
All three, at the same time, nodded their heads. 'Yeah do you know anything about it? We thought maybe with your last name you would know anyone called The Half-Blood Prince. Like, if it's a girl or a boy?' Hermione asked curiously.
She thought for a moment, staring at the golden trio.
'Half-Blood Prince... no it doesn't ring a bell. Where did you get the name Half-Blood Prince anyway it sounds... quite silly actually.' She giggled a bit.
Ron, Hermione and Harry move a bit closer to Paige, which made her a bit uncomfortable.
'Harry found this book, you see, a potion book with notes in them. I guess great notes.' Hermione hissed, looking quite irritated but also a bit intrigued.
'Can I see?' Paige asked politely. Harry pulled out his back and grabbed his potion book, who had a new cover but was old and wrinkly from the inside. Harry handed over the book to Paige who quietly looked through the pages. She recognized the handwriting but couldn't quite place it where it was from. She opened it to the first page which had the name Half-Blood Prince written on it.
'I have no idea.' Paige said disappointedly, handing the book back to Harry. 'Sorry.' She added.
She smiled and looked back at Harry, 'I really have to go now, sorry I couldn't help.' Paige said, grabbing her bag and walking out of the library leaving Harry standing with his friends looking a bit disappointed, still holding his potion book in his hand.
Paige quickly moved through the Halls of the Castle. She was almost at the dungeon when she remembered she needed that library book she left behind. She sighed, placing her head in her hands.
She was so done not being able to be with her real friends, the one that she loves the most of anything, she was done with her best friend being busy with.. stuff. She was done being afraid of her mother that was supposed to love her but instead forces her into an impossible situation.
'Paige?'
Page quickly turned around to see Draco. 'Well speak of the devil.' Paige said, crossing her arms.
'Excuse me?' Draco spoke moving a bit closer to Paige.
Paige didn't answer. 'What are you doing here?' He then asked.
'I'm walking towards the common room Draco.' Paige simply said turning her back against him and started walking again. Draco placed himself next to her. They quietly walked it to the common room until Draco said: 'Excited for Hogsmeade this weekend?'
Paige totally forgot about the Hogsmeade trip this weekend, she sighed again.
'Not that excited?' Draco asked, looking curious.
Paige shrugged. 'I don't know. I actually forgot.' She answered honestly. 'Are you going?' Paige asked Draco.
Draco's expression changed instantly like he remembered something he had to do, something awful.
He answered quickly. 'No I don't think so. Don't feel like it and there is going to be an enormous snowfall this weekend.'
'I think I will go.' Paige mumbled almost like she was talking to herself. 'Maybe I'll get some peace.'
Thank you for reading!
