Finally, they parted their lips to breathe again, with their foreheads touching. The kiss was something from another world. Warm, gentle but at the same time intense, deep, hot. It was definitely something different from everything they ever experienced. It was just a kiss, but surely felt like a lot more.

"That was good" – Arizona broke the ice and spoke first.

"It was, indeed. I'm sorry, I think I might have forced this situation" – Amelia apologized, even though she wasn't exactly sure why.

"Please, do not apologize. You didn't force anything. Actually, you just gave me courage" – Arizona said.

"Did this ever cross you mind before?" – Amelia asked, curious.

"Yeah, a few times. Mostly after the night we were at Joe's, just the two of us. I don't know, I felt something" – Arizona confessed.

They were still embraced, with their arms around each other's waists, when Amelia smiled at that confession, because she felt the same. Just for a minute, she forgot about all the pain and distress of her relationship with Kai. She forgot about have being cheated on, feeling unwanted. She knew that this could be nothing. Actually, it was nothing. But the feeling was the best she felt in a long time.

"That's good, because it crossed my mind a few times, too. I hope things don't get weird between us" – Amelia shared her fears.

"Why would they be?" – Arizona was intrigued.

"I don't know. Because of Callie, maybe? Or working together" – Amelia said.

"We don't work together anymore. And there's nothing to worry about regarding Callie. It's water under the bridge" – Arizona tried to ease Amelia's worries.

"And now what, you just leave? After this amazing kiss?" – Amelia asked, starting to kiss Arizona's lips lightly.

"I wish I could stay" – Arizona barely could speak.

"Then stay, please" – Amelia asked, with a hoarse voice.

Arizona couldn't stay but hearing Amelia's word made the fetal surgeon jump to the next step, taking off Amelia's top first, among all the hands and lips everywhere on both women's bodies.

Soon enough they were naked in bed, without putting anymore energy on their worries. Right now, at that moment, all that mattered were their amazing sex. When it was over, both women were sweaty and panting. Arizona started to caress Amelia's arm back and forth, dancing with her fingertips on the other woman's body.

"Stay over tonight" – Arizona asked.

The alarm went off real early in the morning since Arizona had a flight to catch. The sound woke up both women before they wish for, but sure, it was great to wake up next to each other. Arizona spooned Amelia, kissing her neck.

"Good morning" – Arizona whispered in Amelia's ear.

"Good morning, beautiful" – Amelia smiled.

"Did you sleep well?" – Arizona asked, taking a strand of hair out of Amelia's face, putting it behind her right ear.

"Very well, what about you?" – Amelia asked.

"Me too. Unfortunately I have to run or I will miss my flight" – Arizona said.

"Wouldn't be the worst thing if you did, we could do a lot more of this…" – Amelia started to kiss the blonde.

"Oh, Gosh… I want this so bad, but I really have to go" – Arizona lamented, but unable to stop the kissing.

"Ok, I'll stop. Otherwise I will lose my job as well" – Amelia said.

"Nice, two unemployed doctors living on a hotel room. I could do that" – Arizona joked.

"Well, as long as I have your lips around…." – Amelia said and gave Arizona a last kiss before she put on her clothes – "Text me when you arrive in NYC, ok? Let me know you got home safe and sound"

"Will do. We'll talk soon. Thank you for last night" – Arizona smiled and Amelia left the room.

At the hospital, Amelia was a little distracted, remembering the night with Arizona. Although the memories were delicious, she knew it was an illusion to keep thinking about it, since she already knew Arizona wouldn't go back to Seattle anytime soon.

A big accident involving two cars and a big truck kept all the staff extremely busy, including Amelia. The many surgeries occupied all of her day and kept her mind away from anything else.

In the plane, Arizona couldn't stop smiling every time she remembered the first kiss between them. It was like she could feel that sensation all over again. She scrolled her calendar in her phone to check if she had anything scheduled outside NY in the future. She could use an excuse to step in Seattle again.

When she arrived in NY, she took a deep breath. Her daily routine would start again, and with that, the feeling she didn't belong in the city. She called a cab at the airport and as soon as she got inside the car, she texted the woman who was in her mind the whole day.

Landed in NYC. It's cold, dry and unfortunately no sign of a brilliant neurosurgeon – and also a great kisser – around here. Hope you had a good day.
