[ ] Narrator / ( ) Daydreams

Kaguya poked her head into the student council room. "Good, no-one's around. I can search in peace." Kaguya looked around the council room as she walked inside. "I didn't know the council room got this dark with all the curtains shut."

["Hm? What is she doing?"] The narrator watched Kaguya walk over to Ryo's desk, open a set of blinds behind it and then start opening and closing his draws.

"It's around here somewhere…" Kaguya searched through the draws.

["Is she looking for something?"]

Kaguya went to the other side of the desk, opened the next set of draws and searched through them. "Where did he hide it? I remember he placed the letter somewhere around here…"

["Letter? OH! The love letter Ryo received! Let me guess she wants to use it against him?"] The narrator looked into Kaguya's thoughts.

'If I can change the location of the confession, then the president will wait for no-one to show up, then he'll start to doubt himself, his self-confidence will plummet and so will his pride and then the next time we meet…'

("Kaguya!" Ryo got onto his hands and knees in the middle of the school hallway for everyone to see. "P-Please go out with me!"

Kaguya sighed as she watched Ryo grovel on the floor. "If you're that insistent on it that you are willing to grovel at my feet then I have no choice but to accept.")

Kaguya started to quietly giggle to herself as she imagined Ryo confessing like that.

The narrator felt a shiver go down their spine. ["Ho~ Pure evil. Speaking of Ryo where is he?"]

Ryo was sitting on a bench on the school roof watching the clouds. "I wonder what my old friends are up to?"

Keiji walked up holding 2 cans… again. "I didn't know which one you wanted so I got… Orange… metallic burst…"

"Orange what now?" Ryo asked.

"Or… Sparkling banana bang?" Keiji held both cans out.

"Sparkling banana bang? Or Orange metallic burst?..."

"Yes." Keiji said with a straight face.

"Screw it. Orange metallic burst." Ryo reached out and grabbed the canned drink. "Are these even real flavours?" He held the can in his hand for a few seconds. "Hey Keiji?"

"Yeah?" Keiji looked Ryo in the eyes.

"Why… is the can squishy?" Ryo kept squeezing the can.

"Must be a new thing. Well bottoms up… three-" Keiji opened his canned drink and so did Ryo.

They lifted the cans to their mouths. "Two-" They started to tip the cans into their mouths "One!" They both started chugging their drinks until they were all gone, they both sat there without speaking just staring into the distance as the taste hit their tongues. For Keiji it was fizzy… strong… and chunky. For Ryo it was spicy… with an insanely strong aftertaste… and worst of all…

"Dude, that is disgusting!" Keiji slammed his can on the bench.

Ryo did the same with his can. "Y…ah… no… ki…d...g…" It made him lose his voice! "M… vo..ce!" Ryo tried to speak but couldn't.

"Woah! I guess the taste left you… speechless!" Keiji laughed to himself.

Ryo gave him a look that showed how annoyed he really was.

"I'll stop." Keiji looked around. "Well look at the time. I've got a date to get to. Bye!" Keiji walked away.

"H…y!" Ryo tried to shout at Keiji. 'Great! Exactly what I wanted right now! Oh and I have the confession! How am I meant to reject her if I can't talk!? I haven't even read the letter yet…' Ryo pulled out his phone and started searching for ways to get his voice back. 'A spoon-full of lemon juice with… flour? It will probably pass on its own... right?' Ryo put his phone away and watched the clouds.

Back with Kaguya...

["Nothing's changed, she's still doing the whole day-dreaming thing…"]

Footsteps grew closer to the council room snapping her out of her day-dreaming, she quickly closed the blinds and walked over to the couches and sat down before the person entered the room.

["And in comes…"]

A boy with one of his eyes covered by his hair, carrying a laptop walked into the student council room.

["WHAT?! YU ISHIGAMI! You're not meant to be introduced yet!"] The narrator took a deep breath. ["Ok… let's see where this goes."]

"Why is it so dark in here?" Ishigami walked over to the council room table. "I think I left it here…" Ishigami was running his hand over the surface of the table.

'It would probably be best if he doesn't see me…' Kaguya stayed still so she wouldn't be noticed as she waited for Ishigami to leave.

"I can't see a thing." Ishigami pulled out his phone and turned the flashlight on.

'He's going to see me! perhaps if I slowly…' Kaguya slowly and quietly stood up.

Ishigami heard the rustling of Kaguya's clothes. "Huh?" He moved the phone torch over in her direction for it to only shine directly on her face, Kaguya and Ishigami looked each other in the eyes.

At that moment Ishigami started to believe that every school urban legend he had ever heard of from Hanako to corpseless murders were in fact true stories for he… had just seen a ghost! "Please don't eat me!!" Ishigami ran out of the student council room and all the way back home.

Kaguya watched the student council room doors creak closed. Kaguya was left confused for a few seconds. "Ok then?" She opened the curtains and started searching again.

["I suppose we'll be introducing him later then…"]

"Where did he put it?" Kaguya kept looking through the draws.

["A few moments later~"]

"Aha!" Kaguya held the love letter with both hands. "I should be careful while opening it, I shouldn't leave any evidence that I was here or he'll know."

(Ryo was holding the letter up to show Kaguya that it was opened beforehand. "I see that someone has been looking at my letters..."

"It wasn't me..." Kaguya tried to think of ways to escape the situation.

"Oh please... you and Myuki were the only ones that knew I had the letter in the first place... and I've been with Myuki all day since, so that could only leave you." Ryo lent in close. "You really are quite precious after all.")

'That is not happening!' Kaguya slowly peeled back the sticker so as to not rip the paper and opened the envelope. "There." She took the letter out and unfolded the paper… or papers. Kaguya was holding what seemed to be a 5 page long love letter, Kaguya started to read some lines in her head. 'Your smile has the ability to brighten everyone's day. Your eyes are devilish yet handsome… You smell as if summer was a person!?' Kaguya's face was shocked, disgusted and creeped out all at the same time as she read the papers.

["What… The… HELL!?"]

Kaguya flipped through the pages. 'The last 2 are only 'I love you' written over and over again!' Kaguya took a deep breath to recompose herself and then in mere moments afterwards… She shredded the papers! 'I will not allow the president to be a witness of something as horrific as this!'

["I agree! Ryo's been trying his best!"]

Kaguya then grabbed some more papers and put a pen to the paper. 'I'll write him a new love letter! One that's actually heart-warming to read!'

["Yeah, that's a great Idea! I'm sure he'd be moved by that!"]

"..." Nothing happened for at least 30 seconds.

["What's the matter? Why aren't you writing?"]

'How…' Kaguya thought to herself.

["How what?"]

'How do you write a love letter!?'

["Ah that's right… She's never written one before."]

'The only thing I have to go on is the shredded up on but I am not making a monstrosity like that!' Kaguya put her pen to her paper and started writing the way she knew how.

["Lets see here… Dear Mr. Ryo Itsuki. I am writing to inform you of my feelings and ask that you please make your way to the north-west outside wall of the school building twenty minutes after school ends. I insist that you come alone as neither you nor I wish to be embarrassed when I do confess my love for you…"] The narrator spoke in a fancy voice until Kaguya paused her writing. ["Why did she stop? It was going fine…"]

'Confess!' Kaguya had just realised what she was doing. 'I'm writing a love letter to the president!'

["Ahh~ that's why… You don't need to overthink it, you won't be meeting him, so he'll never know."]

"Yeah that's right, he'll never know!" Kaguya continued writing the letter.

["See that's bett- wait did she just hear me?"] The narrator looked over at Kaguya who kept writing. ["Let's run some tests shall we… Hello~ Kaguya~ Hello!… Time to turn it up a notch. HELLO! CAN YOU HEAR ME! RYO SAID HE LOVED YOU!"] The narrator waited for a couple seconds to see if she would do anything. ["Now that I think about it she did talk to me once before but… I think it's just a coincidence nothing to worry about."]

Kaguya finished writing the letter and put it back into the envelope of the original letter. 'Now all I need to do is leave it in the same spot where the first letter was…' Kaguya scanned the desk from left to right over and over again. 'Where did I find it again?'

["I suppose I'll help out a bit."]

Kaguya 'dropped' the letter and it swiftly glided onto the desk and slid under a book. 'I think that was about right…' Kaguya quickly left the council room before anyone saw her.

["Well all's well ends well."] The narrator watched Kaguya walk down the hall from the doorway of the council room.

Later that day…

Narrator watched Ryo read the love letter.

["So… you're going right?"]

'It would be rude if I didn't… but this letter…' Ryo spun his chair around to look out the window behind him.

["What about it?"]

'It's formal… too formal. It means the person that gave me this is from a distinguished family, meaning strict rules. One of the reasons why I'll kindly reject them.' Ryo said as the sun blasted him in the face. "Ow…" That was the first complete word Ryo's been able to actually say since drinking the can earlier.

And thus 20 minutes after school ended Ryo went to the meeting spot.

Ryo checked his phone. 'Twenty past. Should be any minute now.' Ryo waited… and waited… twenty-past turned to half-past, half-past to an hour later.

["Dude it's been an hour just head home."]

'Yeah I guess you've got a point… no-one is showing up.' And thus Ryo walked away from the confession spot without anyone coming to confess to him. 'It does hurt that no-one showed up. at least tell me you aren't showing up.'

As Ryo got to the school gates pushing his bike beside him Ryo heard a familiar voice. "Hey Itsuki."

Ryo turned around and saw Shirogane walking up to him with his own bike and waved.

"It's rare to see you after-school." Shirogane said.

Ryo pulled out a book from his bag and started writing in it. "Last bits of work. What about you?"

"I was doing my homework in the library till it closed." Shirogane wanted to ask why Ryo wasn't talking but stayed quiet.

["I've been curious too but I just can find the right words to ask…"]

Ryo wrote something else in his book and showed it to shirogane. "Before you ask. Do not drink! Orange metallic burst."

"Huh?! R-right thanks for the warning." Shirogane was still confused.

Meanwhile on the other side of the school.

A female student with blonde hair and dressed like a gal was leaning against the school wall playing with her hair waiting for Ryo to show up. "He's not going to show up. I knew those to seemed to happy when I asked them to write the letter for me!" The mysterious girl put her hand to her chest. "I should have read it myself before I put it in his locker! But whatever they wrote must have scared him off..." The girl stood up from the wall with a determined look in her eye. "But I'm not going to give up!" The girl walked to the front of the school and saw Ryo walk out with Shirogane and then hid behind the corner of the building as she stared at Ryo exit the school with a clear look of affection in her eyes.

["Hey look it's um... uh... who are you?"]

[Today's battle result: Ryo lost… his voice]
