Paige arrived at the hut of Hagrid for the Care of Magical creatures lesson. When she arrived she found a crying Hagrid.

'Aragog is dead.' he sobbed. 'Please Paige, could you come to the burial tonight?' He asked Paige with a pitiful look in his eyes. 'I can't be alone..'

'Yeah alright.' Paige agreed not really able to say no to him right now.

'Thank you, Paige,' Hagrid said, snot coming out of his nose. 'Okay-,' He said to his class, 'today we will talk about Unicorns.'

Paige was deep in thought, thinking about how she would get to Hagrids tonight. She walked to the courtyard where students were gathering to go and take their Apparition exam. She was standing with the Slytherins, waiting for the cue to start walking to Hogmead. Pansy and Blaise were here but Draco was nowhere to be found, he wasn't 17 yet. Paige was lucky she turned 17 just in time to be allowed to apparate. She was quite confident too that she would pass. She already Apparated a couple of times in class.

She caught a glimpse of Hermione, she was waving. Next to her stood an not so excited looking Ron.. Harry wasn't here either just like Draco he hadn't turned 17 yet. Paige waved back when students started to move. They arrived at Hogmead and got into a building.

Well here goes nothing.' Paige thought as everyone took position.

'Harry!' cried Hermione as she climbed through the portrait hole. 'Harry, I passed!'

'Well done!' He said. 'And Ron?'

'He- he just failed.' whispered Hermione, as Ron came slouching into the room looking most morose.

'Just half an eyebrow!' Ron exclaimed.

'Yeah, that sounds a bit harsh.' Harry said to him. 'Next year we'll take it together!'

'Yeah I s'pose.'

'And Paige, did she pass?' Harry asked.

'Yeah think so!' Hermione answered.

'That's good.' He replied, feeling quite proud of her.

'How did it go with Slughorn?' Hermione asked Harry.

'No joy.' He replied.

'So are you going to use felix felicis or what?' Ron demanded.

'Yeah, I suppose I'd better.' said Harry, 'But not the whole bottle I just need 3 or 4 hours.'

The three of them sneaked to the boys dorm room. Harry grabbed the Felix felicis.

'Well, here goes.' Harry raised the little bottle and took a carefully measured sip.

'What does it feel like?' whispered Hermione.

Harry didn't answer for a moment. Then slowly but surely, an exhilarating sense of infiniti opportunity stole through him; he felt as though he could have done anything, anything at all… and getting the memory from Slughorn seemed suddenly not only possible, but positively easy…

He got to his feet, smiling, brimming with confidence. 'Excellent.' He said. 'Really excellent. Right… I'm going down to Hagrid's.'

'What!' said Ron and Hermione together, looking shocked.

'You have to go to Slughorn.' Hermione reminded Harry.

'No,' Harry said confidently. 'I'm going to Hagrid's, I feel like it's the place to be tonight, you know what I mean?'

'No,' Ron and Hermione said together, both now positively alarmed.

'This is Felix felicis, I suppose?' Hermione looked at the little bottle. 'couldn't have been something else.. like-'

'Essence of insanity.' Suggested Ron, as Harry swug his cloak over his shoulder.

Harry laughed, making Ron and Hermione even more alarmed. 'Trust me,' He said. 'I know what I'm doing.. or atleast Felix does.'

He pulled the Invisibility Cloak over his head and set off down the stairs.

Paige was walking towards the door, she had promised Hagrid that she would come to the burial for his dead giant spider. Knowing for sure this was a mistake she truly felt like Hagrid would need it.

She reached the door, expecting it to be closed already but it was open.. 'Weird,' Paige mumbled to herself but continued on.

She was almost at Hagrids when she heard a voice from behind her. 'Hi Paige!' Turning around she saw it was Harry. He sounded extremely excited.

'Harry! You here for the burial as well?'

Harry nodded happily. Something was different about his energy.. Paige looked at him curious. 'You okay?' She finally asked, not sure what was going on with him… He almost seemed more confident.

'More than okay!'

'That's good.' Paige said slowly, still unsure. 'Hermione and Ron not with you?'

'No but I did come across Slughorn.'

'Ow no how did he react?' Paige asked worriedly.

'He has gone up to the castle to get something to drink to bring to the burial.'

'Really now? Interesting…'

'Yeah, indeed!'

'Harry, are you sure you're okay? You seem… different.'

Harry felt Felix tell him not to tell her anything… Which he thought was weird. But he trusted it.

'I'm really fine.' Harry replied, pulling her closer to him. 'I'm just really happy seeing you.' He gently kissed her a few times. 'You passed your apparition exam?' he asked through the kisses.

'Yeah!' Paige said happily, enjoying Harry's lips on her skin.

'I'm proud of you!'

Paige felt herself get red… She hadn't heard that often.. 'Thanks.' she mumbled. 'Lets go.' Both of them walked to Hagrid's hut.

'You two came!' croaked Hagrid, when he opened his door.

'Yeah- Ron and Hermione couldn't, though.' Said Harry. 'They're really sorry.'

'Don't matter.. He'd've bin touched you're here, Harry.. Paige.' He gave a great sob.

'Where are we burying him?' Paige asked as they walked into Hagrid's hut.

'Just beyond the pumpkin patch.' He answered, he started to sob.. Harry patted him on the elbow.

'Professor Slughorn met me coming down here, Hagrid.' He told him suddenly.

'Not in trouble, are yeh?' said Hagrid, looking alarmed.

'No, no, when he heard what I was doing he said he'd like to come and pay his last respects to Aragog too,' Said Harry. 'He's gone to change into something more suitable, I think.. and he said he'd bring some bottles so we can drink to Aragog memory.

'Did he?' Hagrid sounded astonished but touched.

There was a knock on the door. Hagrid opened and Slughorn came hurried over the threshold, several bottles in his arms.

'Hagrid, he said. 'So very sorry to hear of your loss.'

'Thanks a lot. And thanks for not giving Harry detention neither…'

'I wouldn't dream of it. Ah miss Prince, you came to say your goodbyes as well.' He just noticed Paige also being in the room.

He turned back to Hagrid, 'Where is the poor creature?'

'Over there,' Hagrid's voice was shaking. 'Shall we- Shall we do it, then?'

The four of them stepped out into the back garden. The giant spider was laying there. Paige was glad she had never met him when he was alive.

'Magnificent.' Slughorn said, walking towards the dead creature.

Slughorn and Hagrid talked about the creature for a while before they proceeded with the burial.

Slughorn said some nice words, making Hagrid sob loudly.

'Let's go back inside.' He said to Hagrid, who was still sobbing.

When they arrived inside Slughorn grabbed the bottles. Harry and Paige probably looked concerned. Because he promised them he tested them all on poison.

He gave them a glass and gave Hagrid the fullest. They raised their glasses high. 'To Aragog,' They said at once.

Both Slughorn and Hagrid drank deeply. Paige also took some, she looked at Harry. He was barely drinken. She looked at him curiously. He still looked unbelievably confident. She could slightly feel it. An overbearing amount of confidence.

Hagrid started telling the story on how he got Aragog. Paige was listening half of the time. She still was focused on Harry's feelings, although the connection was still weakened.

Harry glanced at Paige now and then, she looked deep in thought.

He stayed listening to Hagrid, trusting Felix.

The Felix Felicis gave Harry a little nudge, and he noticed that the supply of drink that Slughorn had brought was running out fast. Harry had not yet managed to bring off the refilling charm without saying the incantation aloud, but the idea that he might not be able to do it tonight was laughable; Indeed Harry grinned to himself as, unnoticed by either Hagrid or Slughorn he pointed his wand under the table at the emptying bottles and they immediately began to refill.

Paige did notice, gaping at Harry. He looked at her, smiling, telling her that he knew what he was doing.

What is that boy doing? She wondered but didn't say anything.

After an hour or so, Hagrid and Slughorn began making toasts: to Hogwarts, to Dumbledore, to wine and to Harry Potter.

They praised him, although they started to fall over their words. Paige toasted to Harry as well. She saw his face turn slightly pink.

Then not long after Hagrid and Slughorn started to sing. Harry couldn't shake the feeling that Felix was giving him about Paige, she had to get out of the room before Harry could continue his plan with slughorn.

Harry felt the urge to give Hagrid another drink, but already so drunk he knocked over his glass and it fell all over Paige.

'I'm so sorry, Paige,' He mumbled, swaying a bit.

'It's fine, I'll go clean myself up.' Paige stood up and moved to the other side of the hut. Now Harry could go on.

Paige stood at the giant sink, looking at her soaked shirt. She took a deep breath, what was going on tonight. Everything felt so weird. Harry felt weird. But she couldn't place what it was… She slowly began to deb on his stain, but then of course realized she could just clean it up with her wand. She took it out and in no time her shirt was clean again. But then the strangest feeling fell over her. She looked at the door but didn't dare move. A frown formed on her face. this is ridiculous, just go back in! What's wrong? What? You don't wanna face them? Or not face Harry? And why not? Are you embarrassed about the spilled drink? She didn't even spill the drink!

Shaking her head as she leaned on the sink, the feeling of not moving stayed. So she sat it out. Her mind raced a bit. It just felt like her body stood frozen and it stayed for quite a while when all the sudden it went away, just like that.

Paige walked back out, seeing both Hagrid and Slughorn passed out on the table.

Harry still felt some Felix, telling him to wait until Paige said something.

After a while she did, 'Harry, I know what happened to me on Halloween 1981.'

He looked up, she looked tired. 'What made our connection?'

Paige nodded and took out the photo of her father, her as a baby and her real mother. Giving it to Harry who stared at the picture.

'Apparently, that's my real mother.' Paige explained. 'Her name is Evanora Greengrass.'

Harry looked at her in awe. 'That woman in the ministry was not your mother?'

Paige shook her head, taking the photo back.

'My parents were disowned when they didn't choose Voldemort's side. But they were broke without family money, so when she got pregnant with my baby sister, they had to ask for help. and the Prince family would only if my Dad would remarry with Ashley… and that my mother would leave us.'

Harry kept gaping at her, almost not believing what he heard. Felix told him to not interrupt yet.

'When the time came she couldn't leave us. She refused to leave us behind… I think I remember her saying she'd never leave me… before…' Paige felt a lump in her throat. 'Before Ashley killed her..'

Silence fell for a moment before Harry said almost in a whisper.. 'So she didn't have to die?' They looked at each other… 'She could have left.'

Paige nodded, not thinking she could bring out a word right now. She swallowed hard.

'Like my mother.' Harry ended, Paige nodded again.

A longer silence emerged. Finally Harry stood up and walked to Paige, she looked surprised as he pulled her into a hug. It felt very sincere. He held her very tight, feeling mournful. Paige had lost her mother, her real mother. someone who loved her deeply. Didn't wanna leave her.. and then got killed..

They looked at each other, still embraced. 'I'm so sorry.' Harry muttered, placing his forehead onto hers.

'Thanks.' Paige mumbled, feeling tears swelling up in her eyes but she didn't feel like crying. But she couldn't help it, tears started streaming over her cheeks. Because now that she had told Harry, it made it real. She had lost her mother, a mother that loved her so much she refused to leave her.

For the first time Paige felt like she was grieving her mother. It was a relief to know that her mother wasn't a tortuous and murdering person. That her mother didn't hate her and would have never wanna make her life so miserable like Ashley did. It was weird to feel relief and grieve at the same time.

She wished she could hug her mother, that she could tell Paige she loved her. Because she did, her actual mother did love her. And as much as it hurt that she was gone, it felt healing knowing she had a mother who cared.

Harry kissed her forehead gently. They stood there for a while, both mourning their losses.
