Prologue: Morty's Book Report

It was the start of Spring Break. Morty Smith was assigned to do a 600 word book report over break. Morty had chosen the novel "Moby-Dick", written by Herman Melville in 1851. He sat in the library, opened the book, and sighed, feeling annoyed.

Morty: Aw man. 135 chapters? This will take all Break to complete. (sighs) Ok, lets get started.

Just then, Rick Sanchez opened a portal to get Morty for an adventure.

Rick: Hey Morty (burps) I've got an adventure for us.

Everyone in the Library: Shhhhhhhh!

Morty: (whispers) Not now Rick, I have a book report to do.

Rick: (whispers) (looks over Morty's shoulder) Ah, Moby-Dick. A classic. Such a long, complicated, detailed, wordy, metamorphic, educational...

Morty: OK RICK, I GET IT!

Everyone in the Library: Shhhhhhh!

Rick: (whispers) Look Morty, how about I help you with your report?

Then Rick opened a portal and took Morty with him by force. Morty was angry with Rick at first, but then was puzzled at the setting.

Morty: Where are we...

Rick: Quick, put on these Ghost-Belts.

Morty: Wait, what? "Ghost-Belts"...

Rick: Yeah, (burps) they make us like ghosts, so nobody can see, hear, or touch us.

Morty: Okay. But where are we?

Rick: Manhattan Island, 1841.

Morty: What? I thought you don't do time-travel.

Rick: I don't! We're in an alternate timeline where the story of Moby-Dick really happens.

Morty: Really? Everything from the book?

Rick: Well (burps), there's one major difference.

Just then, a young, happy sailor came walking from up a hill. As he walked into the the sunlight, he was revealed to be another version of Morty in the place of Ishmael, the main character of Moby-Dick. He looked at the sky and said "Call me Morty".
