Wednesday Chapter for you! It's a bit shorter than others, but it sets up A LOT for the rest of the story! I hope you enjoy it!

March 2000

When March came, and Theo handed her the pile of leather from Brutus, Hermione found herself weeping at how beautiful it looked. The leather was exceptionally soft and the colour was reminiscent of her Yule Ball dress. She found the first book that her parents had ever given her, Frog and Toad Are Friends, and as much as it hurt her, she took the cover off. It would serve as the base for her Grimoire. Inside, on the cardboard, her parents had written:

This book belongs to Hermione Jean Granger, Born September 19, 1979.

I hope you always know just how long we hoped and prayed for you, my love. We can't wait to see what you become!

Love, Mum

To the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, I hope you find a love of books that can only be rivalled by my own. I love you to the moon and back, Pumpkin!

Love, Papa

By the time March 10th had come all of her parts were ready. In their office sat her cover wrapped in Brutus' leather, her binding cord made from Remus' furn and the fluxweed, and 702 pages made from Wiggentree bark and dittany with three holes punched in each for the binding.

Many of the pages had spells, potions, and rituals taken from the various Grimoires she had been lent, and many of her own creation. She'd organised the Grimoire in a way that made sense to her, although Theo and George told her she was mad for her rather large Table of Contents.

She found herself looking over the directions again and again to make sure everything was right. Eventually George and Theo had to drag her away when she began to fret too much.

"Come on Granger, we have planning for our other mission," said George. They'd found an artefact in one of the seldom used parlour's that seemed to be a black hole of sorts. Time didn't exist inside. Theo's grimoire had stated that anything placed inside would be available at any time, until it was taken out by the person who put it inside. A rather useful Time Travel trick. They started placing things that they deemed necessary inside. Hermione placed a large chunk of Muggle bills inside for when she was on the run again. Theo added their Arithmancy equations once they'd finished balancing. They put a few items that they felt they would need in the replay of the timeline, including irrefutable proof of Draco's death.

Tuesday, March 21, 1999

When the Spring Equinox rolled around, Hermione was a ball of nerves. She had to perform the ritual at exactly midday. When she awoke, she went out and drew out her Runes. Because she was the first and only of her name, she would sit in the middle of the rune.

An hour before midday, she sat with a copper bowl on the Jera line, the binding on the Gebo line, the pages on the Ansuz line, and the cover on the Ælghiz line. She cut her palm and began to drip blood into the copper bowl next to her. They had calculated that she could afford to give 1 litre of blood, and they had marked the line on the bowl. She sat in the sun watching her blood slowly fill the bowl next to her. The higher it filled, the hazier the world looked around her. At exactly the midday mark, she hit the line. She reached over and soaked the bindings in her blood. Chanting over the bowl as she did. She watched as the blood soaked into the bindings until they had turned the colour of her blood.

She pulled the bindings from the bowl and turned to the pages, threading the curiously dry bindings through the holes she began to chant again. The bindings tightened themselves automatically as she chanted and pulled the pages together tightly.

Once they were done, she turned to the cover and brought her bound pages to line with them. She closed the cover around them and held her hands over the spine, chanting over this as well, she felt her magic dip dangerously, but pushed on. She had to give as much as she could to this for the strength of her line.

After what felt like ages, she saw a flash of the same periwinkle shade as her cover light up the entire Rune around her.

She felt the magic settle around her with a sense of finality that she hadn't experienced before. As she went to stand, the entire world faded to black.

When she opened her eyes, she recognized the light purple bed hangings of her room in Nott Manor. Theo was next to her, holding her close to his body. He looked exhausted but was sound asleep. She saw Thorfinn, on the chair next to him, heard George snoring behind her, and when she moved her feet, felt Harry curled up on the edge. George, Harry and Thorfinn were also touching Hermione, and she could feel the warmth of their magic gently soothing her.

When she moved again, Theo blinked his eyes open. "Thank god you're awake, Mia," he sighed. "I was so worried about you, you foolish witch! You could have died. I told you a litre was too much and the amount of magic you expended, you were almost completely drained. We've all been syphoning our magic into you for hours!" By this time in his little rant, the other three residents of her room were awake.

"Glad you're okay, Hermione," Thorfinn said as he inched away to give her and Theo some privacy.

"As much as I love a good sibling spat," agreed George cheekily, "I have potions to brew, since somebody got us all to take a midday nap."

Harry awkwardly shifted at the edge of the bed. "I'll find you later, Harry," she said softly. He nodded and then made his way out of the room.

"Theodore Nott! Do not treat me like a child!" she said, feeling her magic swirl around her.

"I wouldn't treat you like a child if you would listen to reason!" Both of their voices were rising in volume. Out of the corner of her eye, Hermione could see purple and periwinkle magic spinning around them.

"Theo, I'm fine! I'm fine! You knew how much I had to give to make sure the magic was strong. I want a long line. I can't be the last Granger-" she cut off in a sob and Theo gathered her in his arms.

"You won't be,

I'd really recommend checking this out on AO3 if you have the means, I added a graphic of the inside of Hermione's Grimoire Cover and what her Ritual Runes look like!
