Chapter 14: Back Home Again
Back in Amity Park
After filling in Jazz about Danny's disappearance, the members of Team Phantom decided to go look for him.
Since Jack and Maddie were busy in the lab, they went to the weapons vault to go load up on gear, just in case he was snatched by one of his foes.
Jazz wanted to use the Booo-merang but her parents were working on it, curious to why it locked in on Danny all the time. So, they had to start searching the hard way, by going around aimlessly.
They brought all sorts of weapons like blasters, specter defelectors, wrist rays, spare thermoses and whatever else they could find and get their hands on, just in case one of Danny's enemies was responsible. After all, you can never be too careful and knowing all the enemies that Danny had, they had to be prepared for anything.
"Let's go find my little brother, Ghost Getters!..."Jazz said, much to the others annoyance.
"Jazz, we already told you that name is not what we're going with..."Sam said in annoyance.
"I think it works fine and I like the alliteration..."Jazz said, still convinced it's a good name while Sam rolled her eyes.
"Let's just go search for Danny, then we can argue about naming ideas..."Tucker said before they started another one of their arguments.
The two girls nodded and soon they all left to find their missing friend/brother, before something happened to him.
Present Time
That was almost two hours ago when they began searching. The trio of teens had decided to split up to cover more ground.
Jazz went to go check the north side of town, by Axiom Labs, Tucker went to look around the sound side of town, around the mall for any sign of trouble and Sam went to go check by the docks and had agreed to contact the others if they spotted Danny or one of his foes. They wanted to hurry and get him home before curfew but they couldn't find him.
For all they knew though, being grounded was the least of his concerns.
Sam, who had just finished searching the entire docks and most of the surrounding area, didn't see her ghostly friend anywhere.
"Where is he?..."Sam said in worry and frustration.
She decided to call the others, hoping that they had better luck than she did.
"I hope he's not in any real danger. Maybe the others got something..."Sam thought as she pulled out her cell phone.
She dialed the first person she hoped had already found him.
With Jazz
The red haired girl had been searching the entire the entire perimeter of the lab without tripping the alarm and the surrounding security but didn't see any sign of her super powered brother. She ducked behind a tree as a security guard passed by and waited until he left. She stepped out silently, surveying the area. She was increasingly desperate as she was still looking for her missing brother.
She found no clue and gave up on Axiom before she moved on, she left the lab grounds and already tried and had searched every spot she could when Sam called.
Jazz quickly answered it.
"Sam, did you find Danny yet?..."She asked in worry.
"No, I didn't find him. I was hoping you did..."Sam said.
Jazz groaned upon hearing that.
"He's not at Axiom Labs or anywhere nearby. I don't know what to do…"She said in disappointed tone.
Sam sighed on her end, before saying the following suggestion to Danny's sister.
"Try any other spots he's known to deal ghosts on the North side. We'll find him eventually..."Sam said before hanging up.
Sam massaged her temples in stress. She was trying to convince herself more than Jazz on finding Danny. It wasn't that successful but they had to find him.
"Maybe Tucker had more luck..."The goth thought as she tried to call him.
With Tucker
The techno geek had just finished searching the south side of town, by the mall a game store they frequent. He was searching left and right for Danny and found nothing.
He is starting to get tired and worried about his best friend.
"No luck here either. There's not even a single person screaming about ghosts..."Tucker thought when he heard his phone ringing.
It was Sam. Tucker quickly answered it.
"Hey, Sam..."Tucker said, hoping for good news.
"Tucker, any luck?..."Sam asked desperately and his hopes dashed quickly.
"No, he's not at the mall or the game store..."Tucker said, a little worried.
"He wasn't by the docks and Jazz said he's not at Axiom Labs..."Sam said, sounding serious.
"I don't know of any other place he could be. He's probably not even in Amity Park..."Tucker said, feeling just as worried as she is.
"Tucker, keep calm!..."Sam said.
"I don't know if I can. For all we know, he could be anywhere between here and the Ghost Zone..."Tucker pointed out before Sam was heard taking a breath.
"He's disappeared before but he's always found a way to come back soon..."She said.
"On Earth, anyway..."Tucker said and Sam rolled her eyes before responding.
"I'm going to keep looking. Call me if you find him..."Sam said before hanging up without saying goodbye.
Tucker knew that she was worried about him, moreso than him and Jazz, even if she won't admit it though.
"Ive got to keep looking..."The tech geek thought as he was getting worried about his best friend.
Back With Sam
The goth girl just hung up on Tucker and groaned.
She went down the docks and looked around one more time, in case there was something she missed.
Nothing.
Everywhere she looked, it was all the same. There was no sign of Danny, no signs of a fight, no ghost sightings or even a person screaming.
He was just gone.
Sam didn't know where he went but she knew one thing for sure,Danny wouldn't just up and leave not without saying something. If he did, something was wrong.
She just didn't know how wrong it was for him right now.
"Where are you, Danny?…"Sam thought as continued her search for her missing friend.
