The Ghost Boy and The Super Girl

Chapter 16: The Next Day

Danny groaned as his eyes were opening, slowly stirring awake. The ghostly boy took a breath as he sat up, stretched and yawned.

As he came to, he noticed that he was not in his bedroom, but in some smaller room with metal walls. He also recalled what happened yesterday.

The fight with Skulker

The speeding up.

Waking up in a place he found unfamiliar.

Meeting Super Girl

Fighting Atomic Skull

Meeting the Justice League

Going to space and finding out he was stranded on another Earth.

"I guess last night wasn't a dream..."Danny said before he sighed.

He got out of bed and went to check his reflection in the mirror. He was in his human form and realized he morphed in his sleep.

He changed back, not wanting people to see his true form even on another Earth. That could be a can of trouble he didn't want opened. Besides, he needed to keep his secret identity...well...secret.

"I guess I better get ready for whatever happens today..."Danny thought as he then went to look out his window.

He was still amazed that he could see the moon so close. He reminded himself to check it out, maybe take a little trip "outside" and live out his boyhood fantasy when he didn't feel under scrutiny and had the time. It's still the moon, which is still a huge excitement for him.

"Well, at least I can enjoy some aspects of this adventure..."He thought as he admired how it looked in space.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Um, who is it?..."Danny said as he quickly straightened up.

"Wonder Woman..."Someone said before was at the door.

He opened it and saw the tall amazon. Danny, being a teenage boy, found her attractive. He felt his cheeks warn as his face quickly turned red as the female warrior looked down at him.

"Why is she dressed like she's going to the beach? Not that I'm complaining…" He thought as the amazon gave him a somewhat commanding look as she walked into the room.

"Danny Phantom..."She said.

"Y-Yes?..."Danny asked shyly to the amazon.

"I have just come to give you news about your situation. Get ready as we will meet to discuss ideas to get you home..."Wonder Woman said.

"O-Oh...thank you..."Danny said, still a little flustered.

"Anyway, breakfast will be in ten minutes and later we'll talk. So, I suggest you eat up..."The older hero said.

"Yes, ma'am..."Danny nodded as he watched Wonder Woman leave, but not before she looked back.

"We'll meet in the conference hall after breakfast. Best hurry and make sure to eat up. You have a long day ahead..."She said before she kept going.

With her gone, the ghost boy looked into the room before he felt a grumble in his stomach.

Danny sighed.

"I guess we should see if this world's food is compatible with me. I just hope that yesterday's disaster is the most of my worries..."He thought as he followed the amazon.

A few minutes later

Danny had left his room and followed after Wonder Woman to the cafeteria to first have some breakfast and then talk with the league again.

The ghostly boy, however, was amazed by their base and at just how MANY heroes there were.

He saw a woman with green fire for hair, a shirtless man with long blonde hair and someone with a black T tattooed to his face...at least, he thought it was a tattoo. Those were just the ones that stood out the most in this crowd of heroes.

"It's like looking at an army of action figures..."Danny thought as he looked at them all.

"Danny Phantom, focus!..."Wonder Woman said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, Sorry..."Danny said suddenly. "I was just… surprised by how many are in here..."He said.

"Are you not a member of any sort of team on your world?..."Wonder Woman asked and Danny sighed.

"My team consists of my two best friends and my sister. They don't have powers..." Danny explained.

"Really? You don't know of any other superhumans?..." Wonder Woman asked.

"No...honestly, you're looking at the only hero with superpowers in my version of Earth. There's one other and she's not my biggest fan. Even then, she's not so much a superhero as she is a hunter..."He said and the female warrior raised a brow at that.

"I see..."Wonder Woman said before pondering. "I suppose things are different in his world..."She thought.

Danny was soon brought to the cafeteria, the same one Supergirl showed him during their tour yesterday.

"I'll see you after you eat, Phantom. Best hurry, and get in line...the food can clear quick and everyone tries to get the best stuff before you know it..."The adult hero said.

"Sure..."Danny said as she soon left.

Danny then eyed the food. It looked good, much better than what they serve at Casper High for lunch. It actually looked edible and FDA approve, though there was some stuff that looked...well... alien to Danny, though it makes sense since there's actual aliens here.

He needed to do what Wonder Woman suggested and eat up quick, before someone took the best stuff.. He saw the selection of food from yesterday and saw pancakes, waffles and other foods available, Danny mentally drooled at the sight of how delicious it was.

"Man, Tucker would love this place..."He thought before he grabbed a tray and headed to the back of the line.

Danny felt eyes on him as he got in line. He turned his head and saw a bunch of heroes, mostly adults, staring at the new kid.

"They must think I'm a new recruit or something..."He thought as he went to go get some food.

He got into line next to a Robin Hood looking guy who rose a brow.

"You new?..." Robin Hood asked and Danny sighed.

"Uh, yeah..."The ghost kid said.

The guy eyed Danny up and down before he shrugged.

"Well...welcome aboard, kid..."He said, holding out his hand. "The name is Green Arrow..."He said.

"My money was on Robin Hood..."The ghost boy said before raising his own hand. "My name is Danny Phantom..."He said, shaking his hand.

"Danny Phantom? What kind of name is that?..."Green Arrow thought before getting a plate of eggs.

"Never heard of you..."Green Arrow said.

"There's a reason you never heard of me, considering I am not even in the right universe..."Danny muttered quietly.

Green Arrow barely heard that, but figured this boy has his secrets. Everybody in the Justice League did, especially with their secret identity.

"Well, see you around kid and don't worry, you'll fit in fine..."Green Arrow said before leaving the line with his food.

Danny then went to get some pancakes to eat. He needed to finish before meeting with the founding members. He tried to find a place to sit and eat. All he could do was wait as they find a way for him to go home.

He tried to look for a table for himself. As he walked through the cafeteria, he noticed more people were staring. While Danny's outfit fit right in, he was one of the few teens in the Watchtower. He saw some were talking, probably about him or he assumed they did.

It was like high school, only everyone was in tights.

"Great, I'm being judged. Just mildly better than high school..."He muttered under his breath as he overheard someone talk loudly.

"Unbelievable!..."Was heard.

He turned and saw a blonde girl sat at the table, she looked pretty annoyed right now and the ghost boy wondered why she looked like she woke on the wrong side of the bed.

"Of course, she's popular in Sweden. She's just SO amazing, isn't she? What with her also being SO pretty with that skirt the boys love..."She said, sounding annoyed.

"Someone sounds cranky..."Danny thought as he was about to go ask her what was bothering her but decided not to get tangled in another superhero's personal business. "It must be something private..."He thought

The girl in question looking at her phone and groaned. The device was so distracting, particularly the news it brought her that she didn't even notice Danny watching her for a moment as he kept walking.

"Of course, she's Superman's protege after all. You know, I bet the media wouldn't care about her if she wasn't under his mentorship. She's not even his actual cousin from what I heard…" He heard her mutter before storming off.

Danny wondered what that was about for a second before he shrugged and moved forward as he searches to find a place to sit. Preferably one where he won't feel anyone staring at him.

Near the corner of the room next to a window, the ghost boy found a table clear of anything. He took a seat facing the window, admiring the view of space. Danny began chewing, taking solace people were at least leaving him alone.

"At least, the pancakes taste like they do back home..."He thought as he ate.

Later

After eating his breakfast, Danny sighed in relief as he he didn't feel sick from eating it, just like the chili dogs from Metropolis yesterday, proving he can indeed eat the food in this world.. That was a relief as he had been hoping not to get home feeling nauseous.

"Well, that's one thing I don't have to worry about..."The ghost boy thought as finished eating and got up. "I better get going..."He thought before putting his tray away.

After leaving the cafeteria, he decided to head towards the conference room, following the directions Wonder Woman told him on the way.

He knew that by now, his parents must have noticed he was gone and were probably tearing Amity Park apart to find him, not to mention Sam, Jazz and Tucker were probably up all night searching for him.

He just hoped they weren't doing anything crazy like steal the Spector speeder and go into the Ghost Zone. Or worse, break into Vlad's manor and believe the Fruitloop could have been the one to capture him. That was a mess he didn't need to think about right now. Worse yet, with no way to contact them, he has no way of keeping them from acting recklessly. His friends were awesome but when he's in trouble, they can get over their heads.

"I hope they're okay..."He thought as he decided to walk to the conference room.

Danny walked through the halls of the Watchtower, stopping as he took a moment to observe his surroundings, noting so many superheroes just talking and walking through the hallway. He still thought this was cool, even if he was in another universe.

"I think I'm going the right way..."He thought as he turned the corner.

That's when Danny bumped into someone.

"Watch where you're going, creep!..."An annoyed voice said.

Danny realized he hadn't been looking where he was going and had bumped into another hero and then saw it was a girl with long blonde hair, blue eyes and in a red, white and blue costume but it had a mask and no S on her chest. She was not like Super Girl. She is also holding a staff. Danny had to admit that she's pretty but Supergirl was prettier.

"Have I seen her before?..."Danny thought as he recognized her from the cafeteria. She was that girl talking on her phone.

Anyway, the ghost boy realized he did bump into her and he should probably apologize.

"Uh, sorry..."Danny said apologetically as he stepped back. "Uh, you okay?..." He asked.

She turns her head to him and scowled at the sight of him.

"Who the heck are you?..." She asked and Danny rose an eyebrow at the rude response from the blonde in front of him.

"Yeah, hi to you too..." He said annoyed as the blonde girl eyed him up and down.

"I thought after the last incidents with Long Shadow, we had a restriction on new recruits and how old they can be..."She said cautiously and Danny raised an eyebrow at that.

"Excuse me?..." Danny asked confused as the blonde superheroine glared at him like he was a threat.

" Are you new to the League? ..."She said as she critically eyed him.

"You could… say that..." Danny said as the girl kept looking at him suspiciously.

"Alright, who the heck are you? Are you one of those Titans or something? I don't recognize you..." She said with her eyes narrowing more.

"Not exactly..."Danny answered and the strange girl eyed him.

"You best say something, or else!..."She said with a hint of a threat in her voice.

Danny frowned at this.

"Easy, I'm friendly. No need to get so hot-headed. You might end up breaking that rod of yours. I'd hate to see you fight bad guys without it..."Danny said sarcastically.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the right thing to say to her, as the blonde heroine went wide eye and angry.

"What did you say?!You saying my staff is breakable?!..."She asked before aiming her staff at him, the sharp hook at the end beginning to glow.

"Oh man!..."Danny thought as he realized he this escalated fast.

"Talk?! Are you a Cadmus spy or something?!..."She demanded angrily.

"Huh?..." Danny thought surprised, wondering what the angry star spangled girl in spandex was talking about. "What's Cadmus?..."He asked out loud as the blonde didn't believe him.

Just then, Supergirl appeared and got between the two. She stepped in mediate things before a fight could break out.

"Danny, are you okay?..."She said and Danny nodded.

"Better, now that you're here..."He said.

Kara smiled at that before turning to her rival.

"Listen, Stargirl, I know things between us haven't been...great, but I need you to calm down..."Kara said to the other blonde, who frowned at her appearance.

"I'm glad your here for once, Supergirl..."Stargirl said as she pointed her staff. "I caught this suspicious guy walking around the tower..."She said, her staff never left its place in the air.

"Relax, Stargirl. He's not a spy. He's just a hero from another dimension who's stranded here. J'onn screened him personally..."Kara said to the other blonde.

Stargirl, after hearing that Danny was checked over by Martian man Hunter, conceded and put down her staff. She wasn't completely convinced, but she wouldn't doubt the Martian's judgement.

"Fine, he's off the hook...for now..."She said as she rolled her eyes before turning her staff off.

Danny, while happy at the appearance of Supergirl, couldn't help noticing the sour look on Stargirl. He figured there was some kind of history between the girls, but didn't want to butt in. It was better to let sleeping dogs lie.

Still, he should probably try to make peace, not war. Especially since he's in another universe with superheroes all around him. He needs to keep things leveled and avoid making new enemies on another Earth.

"So...uh, are we cool?..."Danny asked.

"Whatever. Just remember... I'll be keeping my eye on you, New Guy..."She said to the two before walking away in annoyance.

As Stargirl left the two alone, Kara turned to Danny.

"I see that you've met Stargirl..."She said.

"Yeah, I guess..."He said as he watched her go. "I think I just met another popular girl who doesn't like me. Just like back home..."He thought, already knowing that he didn't make a good impression on the red-white-and-blue super heroine.

"What's her problem?..."Danny questioned.

"She usually is like that with just me but we've recently had to deal with an attack from a group named Cadmus, who pretty much went all out as they attacked the Watchtower and she and her partner really got injured in the fight..."Kara explained.

"Okay, that makes sense...I guess..."Danny said, still reeling from the little spat that might have escalated.

Well, he was sure a fight wouldn't break out, but not 100%. Supergirl spoke up to get his attention.

"Don't mind her, just focus on getting home..."Kara said, not worried about Stargirl.

She has always been pretty easy to get mad and while they did occasionally work together, they still sometimes butt heads, such as yesterday. Still, she was a fellow leaguer and Kara knew she could trust her.

"Come on, let's go..."Kara said as she lead Danny through the halls.

They had to go to the meeting and get some answers for the boy and that meant some questions were in .

Kara soon spotted her cousin by the door. Superman saw them and gestured her and Danny to follow.

"Follow me..."He ordered and Danny wondered what the man of steel had in store.

A few moments later

Danny was brought to the conference room, where the justice league members from yesterday was gathered.

"Why am I here?..."Danny asked.

"Just to ask a few questions..."Superman said.

"Oh great, just what I need...an interrogation..."Danny thought nervously as they looked at him.
