The Ghost Boy and The Super Girl

Chapter 18: Danny's Powers

A little earlier

Courtney Whitmore was not having a good day so far...or week for that matter.

Her whole week's been lousy.

She had to deal with monitor duty, a crime wave from Intergang and even worse, her mom had been on her case about her midterms and needing to get a good grade. Her school life was the last thing she wanted to worry about right now.

That was only some of the headache she had to deal with. Even worse, was that a certain alien heroine had to get her face plastered everywhere. It made her want to blow steam by hitting a training robot.

"I still don't understand what the big deal is with her. Is it just because she's Superman's protégé?..."She thought in mild envy as she kept walking.

She then noticed her stepfather and many other heroes all heading to the training room.

"Hey, what's going on?..."Stargirl asked.

"Some new guy is in the training room, the founders are watching him take on a practice robot, so he can show what he can do..."Her stepfather answered.

Stargirl raised a brow at that.

"New guy?..."She questioned, thinking of someone she just met.

Could it be that guy she ran into? It seemed too coincidental to not be true.

"Want to come watch too?..."Her stepfather said.

Courtney, having nothing better to do, nodded and decided to go see what this new guy could do for herself. Maybe she's wrong and it's someone else.

She went to the observation window and and stood by her stepdad, frowning when she saw who was in the training room.

"Him again?..."She said in annoyance, getting her stepfather's attention.

"You say something, Courtney?..."Her stepdad questioned.

"Nothing..."Stargirl muttered as she crossed her arms and continued to watch.

"So, he's trying out for the league..."She thought as she noticed Supergirl was with him, looking supportive. "I bet he's getting hints or something from the girl of steel herself..."She thought as the new guy nodded at whatever she said.

The girl of steel then gave the thumb's up as the boy with white hair got ready to show his stuff. Stargirl crossed her arms and looked ready to judge this new guy.

In The Training Room

Danny was facing off against a droid that took the appearance of the same loser he dealt with yesterday. Superman had just explained that they would be starting at the lowest setting and that the bot won't attack until he made the first move.

The robot just stood there, waiting for Danny to make a move.

"Well, might as well get this over with..."The ghost boy thought as he flew to fight the "Atomic Skull".

He began by flying forward with his fists out. The training bot got ready to fight, taking aim before shooting green fireballs from the hands, firing at Danny. He managed to dodge past fireballs with a swift curve in flight, followed by punching the robot clear through the air.

"Ha, nice aim. You almost hit me..."He said as the training bot tried again, firing a blast of it's own.

Danny phased through it, the fireball exploding behind him. He then swung a kick.

The training bot recovered and tried blasting him again but Danny only inched his head to the right to avoid it. The hero from another Earth dodged it easily, the attacks coming from these Atomic Skull looking Training Droid were becoming easier to predict.

"I've had a tougher workout from Skulker..."He said as flew in, punching "Atomic Skull' in the face.

Danny grinned with excitement as was practically wiping the floor with this Atomic Skull droid. In Fact, he was barely breaking a sweat, so much so that he felt this was too easy and something not equipped for a ghost. He hoped this will speed his return home up.

In the observation window

Kara saw him flying around and tossing the robot around like a rag-doll.

"Looks like he is doing just fine..."She said as she saw the ghost boy fire a beam from his hands that cancelled out one of the blasts.

Stargirl overheard that and scoffed. "Oh brother..."She thought as Danny continued to impress everyone.

The blonde heroine shook her head at Danny's methods, while she was already getting annoyed that another muti-superpowered show-off was treating the training room like his own personal stage. He was practically showboating all his powers to everyone.

"He's just lucky..."She muttered as they all watched the new guy flying through the training room, having no trouble dealing with the training droids that were set on a lower level

The alien girl looked to Stargirl for a moment before rolling her eyes. It was clear the ghost boy was making her feel like she's shown up, probably thinking that the half ghost boy was trying to join the league or something. Supergirl was exasperated that the star spangled girl was already starting to see a new rival.

"Everything is a competition for her..." She thought as her adoptive cousin and the other found members watched with interest, looking at the ghost powered boy.

"I see he has the ability to fly and rather quickly, even without the wings. ..."Shayera commented.

"Indeed...he fights well under pressure..."Wonder Woman responded as they watched him handle the robot.

"Yeah, the kid is doing better than I thought..."The Flash said as he saw Danny send ecto blasts at the robot, knocking it off its feet.

"Yeah, seems like he can send those strange blasts naturally. Whatever those are, they're pretty powerful..."Shayera commented, looking intrigued.

"It's not over yet..."Superman reminded as they continued to observe.

Kara nodded as she went back to watching Danny's fight with the remaining training bot.

Back in the training room

Danny had no trouble with this robot, given it wasn't built to fight ghosts.

He flew up, dodging another fireball that hit the wall, but did not do any damage.

"These walls must be built in case the walking reactor guy or someone like him was here..." He thought quickly. "I guess these guys are prepared..."He mentally added.

Having turned invisible and glowing blue, Danny fired his beam, leaving it trapped the "Atomic Skull" in ice.

"This is actually kinda fun. If it weren't for needing to get home, I could do this all day..."He thought as he turned visible.

Danny looked to the other heroes watching him, a lot of them had wide eyes after seeing everything that he did against the training bot.

The ghost boy looked to the observation window, now aware there were more eyes on him.

"So, how was that?..." He asked nervously.

Superman raised an eyebrow, somewhat impressed by his abilities before he spoke.

"Interesting...Most aren't that fast..."He thought, stroking his chin before speaking into the intercom again. "Not bad. Maybe we'll have to do something more tougher to see your limits..."The man of steel suggested.

The ghost boy heard this and was a little nervous at the idea, he wanted to say no and was about to do so but noticed Supergirl watching him. She looked impressed by what he did so far and it made him eager to show the beautiful girl of steel even more of what he can do to keep her impressed.

Danny smiled and nodded.

"Alright..."The ghost boy agreed, sounding ready.

With a press of a button by Superman, two more robots appeared, these two were different. Neither resembling Atomic Skull in the least.

Back with Kara

The girl of steel saw him take down the first training bot with ease.

"Wow, he's doing pretty good..."She said as she was watching him getting ready to take down the robots.

She noticed the other members of the league were also watching him with interest.

"Pretty impressive for someone so young..." Crimson Fox said to Aquaman, who didn't answer as he watched.

"Verily does he defeat these machines with ease..." Shining knight complimented, watching him fly through the air

Kara smiled and felt relieved others were accepting of him so fast. She turned back to the window, looking back to the ghost boy kicking machine butt

Back with Danny

Danny was now standing in the training room as the founding member of the league pushed a button.

Two more training bots came up and they transformed into two more villains. Danny noticed that these droids looked a lot less human and much more animalistic, one more so than the other. It shocked him to see that his new opponents resembled a humanoid cheetah and the other is a large gorilla with funny looking helmet.

"Danny Phantom...these two are Cheetah and Grodd. They're both slightly more on the physical side of things..."He said.

"I'm hoping you don't have PETA on this Earth, cause there'd be lawsuits galore..."The ghost boy commented as the man of steel continued the introduction his new robotic training combatants.

"They're much more physically imposing than Atomic Skull..."Superman said from the intercom. "This challenging enough for you, Phantom?..."He asked, while hiding his interest in what he can do, but both Supergirl and Batman didn't buy it.

"Yeah..."The ghost boy said, hiding how nervous he was.

Soon, Superman pressed the buttons. The siren signaled indicating that the training bots then activated. Danny, while trying to psych himself up, he got into a battle stance ready for anything these droids could throw at him.

The training bots then moved in and charged in for an attack on foot. The humanoid cheetah and the gorilla then went on the offensive.

"Good thing Sam's not here to see this..." Danny said to himself as he raised his hand as they started to emits a green ghostly glow.

The two "villains" then started to coordinate their attacks together, both programmed to tag-team him. This didn't come to as a surprise, since Danny assumed that most training bots were programmed to team up together to test out the abilities of the test takers.

"Whoa! Bad Kitty! I'm the furthest thing from a scratching-post..."He said as he dodges the the swiping slash of the droid Cheetas's claws by fly up in the air.

The droid Grodd swing its fists down at him and started to jump up in mid-air while it was about to hammer Danny to the ground with two balled up fist.

Danny, instead, was mentally chastising himself as he thought that his super strength and durability would be enough to stop these two in their tracks. Before the collision, Danny had been confident as he successfully caught the Grodd droid's fists. However, he misjudged how powerful the mechanical animal really was... much to his annoyance as he holds the gorilla's fists up with one hand.

"Me and my big mouth!..."Danny muttered as he pushed back against the Grodd bot and felt the fist was heavier than he thought.

He had to use a bit more energy. He quickly noticed the claws of the spotted cat girl coming at him before making a shield around his body, the impact pushing her back.

Meanwhile, as the training battle was about to begin, some of the founding League members discussed amongst themselves.

"I understand that we need to see what this ghost kid can do with our eyes, but did have to use Grodd for one of his training bots?..." The Flash asked.

Shayera and the Green Lanter were wondering the same thing. Thankfully, Batman answered to the rest of the founding members.

"Evidently we still don't that much about his profession as a hero and there are so many abilities in one teenaged superhero from a dimension that we know nothing about, we need to be extra thorough in this training exercise...also, it's pretty clear to anyone that he's still fairly new and green to the whole concept of hero work compared to us. This way we'll get a better understanding at how he functions in the field..." Batman explained to the group.

The others could see the Dark Knight's reasoning and point of view now and nodded.

"Makes sense and here I thought that those two were picked out for some kind of animal theme and for entertainment purposes..." The Flash commented with a quip.

As Supergirl was listening to the adults discussion, she was watch the Ghost Boy in action.

While she Danny take a few hits from the cybernetic Beasts, she remembered how he fought against both Luthor's robot and Atomic Skull. She knew that the teenage ghost hero was tougher than he looks and had a lot more to offer than just basic flight and strength.

"Come on Danny, show them how tough you really are..."She said to herself as she watched.

Danny was still fighting against the two droids, testing his his limits as the two training bots were closing in on him. The ghost boy then leapt up, dodging an attack from the training bot that looked like Grodd.

He tried to think of a plan that didn't involve his ghostly wail and duplication powers that he was holding for reserve. He also wanted to come up with something, he needed something that didn't involved in him getting humiliated in front of an audience that was filled to the brim with superheroes that were currently watching his every move. So, he had to think fast yet calm as analyze his robot opponents.

"Okay, so the cat girl has claws that, as far as I tell, are strong enough to slash some of heroes to bits and probably has other things like fangs...what can this Grumpy Grape Ape do, besides smashing things to rubble?..."He thought as he looked to the other one.

Danny got his answer when the Grodd training bot then tried to throw a massive punch at him with one hand. Danny phased through it effortlessly, not noticing that the training room had even more cracks surrounding the place. He then saw the "ape villain" place his hand on his weird helmet and stated levitating huge chunks of the walls into spike piercing projectiles.

All of them were locked on and aimed at Danny, who gulped.

"Okay, that'd be cooler if it wasn't being used for evil..."Danny admitted as he made a shield.

Danny was pushed back by the force behind it but stood his ground. He flew forward, still dodging attacks.

As even more projectiles we're headed towards the ghost boy, most of the Justice League members that were watching starting to worry about the new guy's safety, save for a certain few. Danny however, managed to avoid being hit thanks to his intangibility.

Now, he was on the attack.

"Take this, Magilla!..."Danny shouted as he sent blasts to the Grodd Bot, who somehow manage to halt it with it's arm up.

Danny frowned at that.

"Alright, he's giving King Kong a run for his money..."He said as he flew straight to Grodd-bot.

After swinging his fist to launch the ape upward, he flew straight to the cheetah-like girl.

The ghost boy sent blast after blasts at the admittedly agile cat girl. They tried to attack but thanks to Danny's flight and intangibility, he got out without a scratch.

"See, this is why I'm a dog person..."He muttered as he felt how close those claws had come.

The ghost boy ducked under a kick and a swipe from her claw.

"Oh boy, this is turning out be more of a workout than I first thought it'd be, even Skulker wasn't this relentless when we fought. These bots are probably as tough as the real thing..."He muttered as he felt himself starting to get worn out a bit.

After a quick idea, he decided to go deal with the Cheetah bot.

"Here goes everything..." Danny said as his body started glowing with more of his ghostly energy as he let it flow into hand, glowing blue.

He went flying towards the cat girl and aimed.

"Bye Bye Kitty!..."Danny shouted as he sent an ice blast, freezing her.

"Time to go finish off the King Kong wannabe..."Danny said as he he flew directly at the Grodd training bot head on.

Using his super ghostly strength, Danny caught the gorilla-like robot's fist, making it spin around as he flew directly at the bot with his fist raised.

"Here's the next level, Dorky Kong!..."He said as he managed to punch super hard, sending it flying high in the air and then painfully crashing into the ground face first.

The two training bots then had the lights in their eyes go out, meaning that the mechanical opponents were finally out of commission.

"Alright, I'll admit these droids were tougher then I thought. If this is just for training alone, I'd hate to imagine how hard it'd be like to handle the real thing in the field..."He admitted before dusting himself off.

A few moments later

Danny walked out of the training room and was soon approached by Supergirl and the founding members of the league.

"Danny, that was awesome!..."She said with a smile and the ghost boy blushed at that.

"Uh, thanks Supergirl. You're pre-...I mean...it's pretty nice of you to say that...heh..."He said as he scratched the back of his head with a blush on his face.

They were interrupted by the fact that they weren't alone here..the adults were looking at him expectantly. Danny suddenly felt very self conscious, although each of the were standing by him from different aspects.

"Well, that was something..."Superman said with with a somewhat impressed smile as Wonder Woman spoke next.

"You are quite the warrior, Danny Phantom and you're more versatile than we thought ..."The Amazon said to Danny.

"Thank you, Ma'am..."He said, though he wasn't completely sure what that word meant.

He said nothing before looking to the rest of the League.

"So, about getting home?..."He asked, wanting to know if now he can go home.

"We hope to consult Dr. Fate with your current dilemma..."Martian Man Hunter said.

"Huh?..."Danny asked, confused, not knowing who that was.

"Dr. Fate...He is a master of traveling through different dimensions. Someone we believe can help you..."Batman clarified.

Danny got what he meant

"Oh...do you think this fate guy can help me get home?..."The ghost boy asked.

"I'm sure he can get you home...he's our best shot..."Kara said while the boy was very hopeful that this could work.

"I hope you're right about that, considering I'm already late for curfew..."He muttered, a little worried about what's going on at home.

"So, where is this Doctor Fate guy anyway?..."He asked.

"He is currently in a meditative state between this reality and the next within his own pocket dimension..."The Martian Manhunter said, as if that were normal. "He is not a very active member of the League and he is difficult to reach but he should be available to assist in a situation like this, late this at the earliest or tomorrow at the latest..."The Martian Manhunter said and Danny sighed.

"That's good to know..."He said, hoping that this mystical doctor is the one who can help him get back home.

Back In Danny's Universe

In The Ghost Zone

Unknown to Danny and the Justice League, the entire demonstration of the young Halfa's abilities in the training room was being witness by a certain time master and his one eyed bosses.

Yes, Clockwork and the Observants were peering through the folds of reality into the world of the Justice League, witnessing Danny Phantom's latest exploit, some with mild intrigued while others had annoyance at Danny's latest accidental adventure.

"Well, that didn't take long..."Clockwork said knowingly with a smirk after seeing Danny manage to beat the training bots.

"Nicely done, Danny..."The Time Master said with a small smile.

The observants, however, were not pleased by this unexpected development.

"Clockwork, this is a an extremely distressing situation and a serious violation of the rules of time and space..."The First observant said.

"Yes, quite distressing. As the ghost of time, this is a blatant disregard of your role..."The second one added.

"First, I was not the one to send him phasing through reality and into another dimension. That was simply a cosmic accident that happened because of Skulker's device..."The time master pointed out.

"Never the less, Danny Phantom is YOUR responsibility..."The first observant said.

"As will be any alterations he makes to that dimensions timeline, all of which we know you could have prevented from the start..."The second one continued.

"The last thing we need is interfering with another universe's timeline..."The first one said.

"WHICH WE DO NOT WANT HAPPENING!..."They both said at the same time.

"And we want to know what you plan on doing to fix this massive mistake that's happened on your all-seeing watch..."The first one said.

The time master sighed in irritation before turning to his bosses.

"Do not worry, all will be as it should be and I can assure you that Phantom's current actions will not be the end of this Earth's fate, nor the other world's..."Clockwork said vaguely to the two cyclops ghosts.

Once the two cyclops ghost left, Clockwork turn his attention back to the "screen".

He saw the image of his young friend talking to the one known as Supergirl and he could see the first alteration of this Dimension's timeline and possibly a positive one for the young hero.

Unknown to the Observants, this is exactly what ClockWork had foreseen and this cosmic accident was not lost to him.

The time master raised his hand to his chin, thinking for a moment and made a mental note to talk to a certain master of time and space in that world and soon.

"All is as it should be, now let's see what new twists and turns your parade will take now, my friend..."The time master thought, intrigued to see how Danny's actions will greatly alter not only this dimension but also his own.

Only time will tell of what fate is waiting for Danny Phantom in this new world of heroes, where nearly anything is possible.

William Escobar 608:

1) Tienes razón.

2) Honestamente, alguien mencionó en una revisión que algunos de los poderes de Danny y movimientos únicos como "ghost stinger" y su "telekenisis", aunque se ven brevemente, cuentan como poderes.
