The Ghost Boy and The Super Girl
Chapter 20: Trouble II
Danny and Supergirl were together as they met up in the hangar bay. They were now gathered around a group of superheroes, who were readying themselves for whatever trouble that's about to come crushing through their watch tower.
They saw all the other members of the league, Stargirl, S.T.R.I.P.E., Red Tornato, Vigilante, Hourman, Shining Knight, Crimson Avenger, Booster Gold, Speedy, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Wildcat, Huntress and The Question getting ready for battle stations.
Mr. Terrific himself stood at the front, looking serious.
"Look alive people! We've got trouble on our hands. Battle stations. This is not a drill!..."Mr. Terrific said, while everyone else were already given specific instructions on where to be stationed for an attack on their headquarters.
"What's happening? An alien invasion?! Space robots?!..."Danny thought, as the alarms kept blaring and all the heroes watching their backs.
He had to admit, he felt pretty out of place, since he's still new to this whole situation in general. He is from another Earth, after all. He turned to Supergirl for information, knowing that she must be more experienced being in these situations before.
"What should we do?..."Danny asked, fully aware that he had no idea what to expect from a new threat.
"We get ready for anything and expect the unexpected. Stay with me..."Supergirl said, as she quickly gestured for him to follow her.
Danny nodded, seeing as she's the friendliest face he's seen here.
"Okay, sounds easy enough. Let's go..."He said, staying by her side.
Heading home will have to wait. For now, he had to trust Supergirl's judgement on this problem that they're currently dealing with.
With the league's founders
Superman and the other league founders arrived to the watchtower's landing station to see who or what had the nerve to set off their security systems.
"Let's see who it is this time..."Superman said as the footage played.
They all widened their eyes at the familiar face, one they hoped to never see again.
"Oh Hera, help us. Him?!..."Wonder Woman asked as she dragged a hand down her face, given as she saw who broke into the watchtower.
This figure appeared in the hangar bay. Danny tilted his head, when he finally saw who was attacking the watch tower.
It was a man who looked to be about 7 feet tall, with grayish white skin, red eyes, long black hair and handlebar mustache with some wild, unshaven facial hair. He was also dressed in a very what looked like wild 90's biker fashion, he was also riding what looked like a an advance, space motorcycle with a metallic skull at the front hood ornament.
The boy from another Earth was unsure how to react.
"Who...or what is that?..."Danny asked, as he never seen anything or anyone like him before.
Lobo heard this and smirked, gesturing to himself.
"Ah, I see ya guys got a new recruit, huh? Listen up rookie, cause I ain't saying this twice. The name is Lobo and you'd better not forget it. That's L as in 'lacerate', O as in 'obliterate', B as in 'disembowel', and O as in, uh... well, I guess I can use 'obliterate' twice..."He said, as he forgot what the extra O stood for.
The ghost boy blinked at this introduction before noticing something wrong.
"Uh...doesn't "disembowel" start with a "D"?..."He asked
The alien biker stomped his foot with enough force to make the metal floor shake.
"Don't mock the main man, ya little brat!..."He snapped, desiring to disembowel him for what he just did.
Danny looked at the space biker funny, as he turned to Supergirl, who groaned bitterly.
"His name is Lobo. He's a bounty hunter and a real troublemaker. When he's not drinking, fighting, and gambling, he's out there causing headaches all over the galaxy. Last time he was here, he tried to take Superman's place on the League, when we thought he was dead...which is a REALLY long story that I'll explain another time..."Supergirl said with a cringed look on her face.
"He's also a pig..."She added.
"I see..."Danny said as the biker approached them.
"So, Supey's cousin. Where's the boy scout hiding?..." Lobo questioned rudely.
The answer came when the founding members arrived. Superman frowned the moment he saw the biker.
"Lobo, what is the meaning of this?! Who sent you to attack us?!..."The man of steel demanded.
Lobo responded by spitting out what could be presumed as some sort of space gum and rehydrated himself by drinking a strange green fluid and threw away the now empty bottle. Drops of the fluid came out, revealing to be some kind of acid as it burnt through the floor.
"No one hired me, Boy scout. After you guys kicked me out of the league, my reputation took a huge nose dive throughout the whole cosmos as a result. So I came for a little payback!..."Lobo said, sounding like he was confident he'd win.
Superman frowned as he could sense that Lobo is a little more...sluggish and boorish than usual and he had a feeling that he knew why.
"Let me guess, you've been consuming something that's got you under influence just now, weren't you? Like something from the Galaxy Pub from the entertainment quadrant of the universe?..."He asked, frowning as he already knew the answer.
The somewhat inebriated bounty hunter got defensive at this.
"What's it to you, Pops?! If I wanted to get scolded, I'd go to my dad... assuming he survived me fraggin' all of Czarnia..."Lobo said, belching.
"Gross!..."Supergirl muttered, with the rest of the league agreeing with her.
"Oh, who cares what you all think?! I sure don't! You think just because you've got your own personal clubhouse of super-powered scout troopers like you, acting all high and mighty in this spinning pogo stick of a space station, that I won't come back and go a few rounds with you man to main man? Well, fat chance!..."Lobo said as he kept ranting colorful words at them.
The "new recruit" however was still processing what is going on here and questioned what was heard.
"He used to be a member?..." Danny asked, confused by that detail but his new friend shook her head.
"Not really. It was more like we needed a new member, as in someone who is essentially like a tank and he was the closest thing that we could get at the time. Mostly since he volunteered because he actually was at Supes level, even when we all know he can't even beat him at an arm wrestling contests..." Supergirl answered.
Lobo heard this and got angry.
"Don't underestimate me, Blondie. Lobo is the kind of guy you losers need! I'm the main man and don't you forget it!..."He said, belching again before wiping his mouth.
"I'll take all ya losers on! But... because I got time to kill, I'll take ya one at a time!..." Lobo went overconfidently before pointing at Danny.
"Let's start with the new rookie over there first!..."He said as he headed to the ghost boy, ready to pick a fight.
"Huh? I'm not a member..." Danny said.
"Too late... shrimp!..."The bounty hunter said, grinning wildly.
With that, Lobo pulled out some kind of object and threw it at Danny.
"Careful, that's a grenade!..." Supergirl said as she fired her heat beams, making it explode before it could reach them.
The force knocked several Leaguers down, but Danny got back up.
"Fine... he wants a fight? I'll give him one!.."Danny said, as he then fired a barrage of energy blasts aimed at space biker.
Lobo stepped out of the way, laughing until he realizes the blasts ended up hitting his bike, much to his dismay and anger.
"My hog?! Be careful, I just got this baby repainted yesterday!..."Lobo said as he checked to make absolute sure that his bike didn't have any scratches on it.
Danny saw this and rolled his eyes.
"Another trouble making bad guy who thinks with his fists instead of his brain and who is obsessed with his ride. He's like an older, taller, uglier yet somehow more impressive version of Johnny 13..."Danny muttered, as he notices the similarities between the two.
"Who?..."The Flash asked, as heard what the ghost said, but had no idea who he was talking about.
Before Danny could answer, shots were fired from Lobo's comically large space guns.
"You're gonna pay for that!..."He shouted at him, while the ghost boy rolled his eyes at him.
"You're the one who stormed over here to pick a fight and you stepped out of the way!..." Danny said, as flew around in midair to avoid all the fired blast that were aimed at him.
This only infuriated Lobo even further.
"Hold still, punk!..."He said as he kept firing at him.
"So not happening!..."Danny said, as he kept dodging.
While Lobo was distracted, Stargirl saw an opportunity and aimed her staff.
"One shot and I'm a shoo-in for getting more recognition!..."Stargirl said, as she raised her staff, ready to finally bring down a big bad instead of letting Supergirl hog the spotlight.
"Just one shot!..."She thought, ready to fire.
However, before she had a chance to fire at Lobo, Danny flew right passed her with glowing green fists. Swinging his arm back, he intended to punch the alien biker.
"I'll make sure to leave more than just a few tire burns after this!..."Danny said as he uppercut Lobo beneath his jaw.
The impact didn't hit with enough force as it only made Lobo chuckle.
"Was that supposed to hurt or are you just the new massage therapist?..." Lobo asked mockingly before backhanding Danny, sending him sliding away on the floor.
Stargirl saw that her chance to show what she's really capable of to the entire League...and that the ghost boy took her best chance away from her. She frowned, as her grip on her staff tightened.
"Show off..."She muttered as she crossed her arms, while scowling.
Danny didn't hear that, as he focused on the fight with the loud and foul mouth alien biker who wanted to tear him apart but was sloshed and more sloppy that usual.
Something that the league noticed and took advantage of.
"Shouldn't we help him?..."The Flash asked.
"Danny's got it covered, plus Lobo is too drunk to be a real threat right now..."Supergirl said, as she continued to watch her new friend take on one of the galaxy's biggest nuisances.
"The main man's gonna add your head to his wall!..."Lobo said as he fired again, but missed.
"Hey, Danny Phantom does not do well without his head!..."Danny said, only to realize what he just said and groaned.
"Ugh! Now you got me speaking in third person! Just for that!..."The ghost boy said, eyes glowing greener.
Lobo was ready to pull the trigger when Danny suddenly disappeared.
"Huh?! Where'd he go?!..." Lobo shouted in anger.
The Leaguers were also as lost, seeing him nowhere in sight. Though, they guessed he just became invisible right now.
"Danny?..." Supergirl asked, trying to locate him.
"Pfft... coward..." Stargirl muttered, not impressed at all.
"For a pretty girl, you're kind of rude, aren't you?..." Danny's voice went near her, making her gasp.
"Huh?!..."Stargirl gasped, as she turned around, but still didn't see the source of the voice.
The space bounty hunter, still out of it, got irritated very quick.
"Ah, forget this! If I can't frag that little punk, I'll frag this whole stinking, oversized satellite!..." Lobo said as he aimed his blaster at the roof.
"Oh no, you don't!..."Superman said, ready to step in and take him down.
However, before he could anything to stop him, the cackling biker suddenly dawned a blank expression as he lowered his head and dropped his weapon.
Several second passed, and all the heroes were confused now.
"Uh... what just happened?..." Flash asked, turning to Batman, while the Dark Knight just raised a brow.
Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern hovered closer to the space mercenary, who was still acting bizarre, even by their standards.
"Lobo?..." Superman asked.
"Not really..." What seemed to be Lobo said, with a voice not his own, as his head raised and his eyes turned green.
"Wait... that voice... Phantom?..." Superman asked.
"Are you... in there?..." Wonder Woman asked, curious.
"Yeah... didn't think it'd work, but I took over his body. It feels... wrong... like wearing a dirty jacket stained with things I don't even want to think about... and I don't just mean the actual jacket..." Danny-as-Lobo explained.
"Fascinating..." J'onn went, observing from afar.
"But... is Lobo still in there?..." Flash asked.
"He is... but I don't believe his mind will remain dormant for long. I've never done this on an alien before, so I don't know how long I can keep this up..."He explained, while Lobo's body began to twitch.
"What's happening?..." Superman asked, keeping his guard up while "Lobo" looked uneasy right now.
"Crud... I think his body's starting to reject me. Can someone who hit harder than me punch him out?..." Danny asked.
"I'll do it..." Wonder Woman went, pulling her arm back before a thought crossed her.
"Wait... I don't mind giving him head trauma, but what about you?..."She asked, since she didn't want to risk giving the kid potential damage.
"Don't worry, this won't hurt me... I think..."Danny-as-Lobo said, though he seemed unsure.
Not seeing another alternative, Wonder Woman threw her punch as hard as she could. Lobo was sent flying backward as Danny was launched out of his body.
"Well... it hurt for like 1 second but at least it's over now..." Danny said, massaging his jaw despite that he no longer felt the pain.
"Holy... fragarolli!..." Lobo muttered before his lights went out.
"Wow, not bad..." Supergirl went, impressed at how her friend managed to deal with that nuisance.
A few moments later
After Lobo was defeated, Danny turned to Supergirl and the other league members. The blonde heroine smiled at him, kind of impressed by how Danny handled the situation.
"Nicely done. There aren't a lot people out there who can keep with the likes of Lobo, even when he's drunk..."She said, making him blush.
Danny chuckled at that, and started to blush some more at her praise.
"Happy to help..."He said, looking a bit bashful as he scratches the back of his head.
The founding members all seemed to share the sentiment. While Wonder Woman did deal the finishing blow, they were impressed with how the half ghost teenage hero managed to deal with the situation.
Even when he's drunk, Lobo can be pretty dangerous, and it was best to have him dealt with sooner rather than later.
"Yeah, not bad kid. Thanks for the assist..."Green Lantern said, impressed at how well the ghost boy did against the space bounty hunter.
Danny smiled at them, as he appreciated being thanked for his heroic actions for a change.
"No problem, but I've dealt with bigger threats than him before. I'm sure any of you could taken him down too..."He said, being modest.
"True, but you saved us the trouble of dealing with that peace of space trash. So, thanks..."Shayera said, and Black Canary nodded.
Stargirl saw the others praising Danny. She crossed her arms and pouted, upset that her chance to shine was taken away from her by another hero.
"Great, now I've got two show-offs to deal with. Perfect..."She muttered, before marching away.
S.T.R.I.P.E and Speedy saw this and were concerned by her behavior.
"What's her problem?..."Speedy asked, confused.
S.T.R.I.P.E. sighed.
"Oh, she's just trying to make a name for herself..."He muttered, knowing that his stepdaughter is in one of her moods again.
He knew that she only wanted to find her place in the league...and unfortunately, she gets very intense and competitive with everyone, especially if she feels that someone is getting more attention that her and if she felt that someone else was showing her up.
It can also be a real hassle to get her to stop when she gets like this. Thankfully, competitive or not, Courtney always ends up to focus on missions and league work when it really counts. Though, it still didn't help with her jealousy issues.
"If only she used that determination and willpower for her school work. I'd better talk with her mother about this when we get home..."He thought, knowing that this won't be an easy conversation.
As he wondered how to handle his stepdaughter, Danny and Supergirl were discussing what happened.
"That was pretty cool what you did, Danny. Overshadowing, right?..."She asked.
"Yeah, that's what it's call..."Danny said.
"Well, like I said, it was kind of cool how you did that..."She said, making him blush again.
"Thanks. Despite not being a ghost, he was kind of hard to take down without resorting to it..."Danny said, trying to hide his blush from the cute female superhero.
"Be thankful he's too hotheaded for his own good, and he gets even stupider when he gets drunk..." Supergirl said.
"I almost don't wanna ask what he's like when he's sober..."The ghost boy said, before looking at the unconscious bad guy.
"So, what are you guys gonna do with tall, dark and ugly?..."Danny asked.
"Lobo will be sent into the custody of the Green Lantern corps..."Batman answered as the unconscious alien was carried off by Green Lantern, using his ring to lift him up with a rectangular platform.
"Hopefully, they'll keep him locked up for good this time. I cannot stand that disgusting pig..."Wonder Woman added, shooting a venomous glare at his unconscious body.
"Yeah, we won't have to worry about him getting sloshed again...though at least no but he got hurt this time. And no major damages happened when you used him as a punch bag..."Flash said, earning an eye-roll from her.
"Be lucky you're more tolerable than he is..." She said as a semi-warning, and Flash sent a shrugging smile.
Later
After Lobo was sent to the Green Lanter Corps, the ghost boy decided to ask the other heroes about the progress of him going home again.
"So...any idea when that Fate guy is gonna be here to send me back home to my own universe? As in, any chance he could arrive sooner than expect?..."Danny asked, hopefully.
"Like we said, we have spoke of and theorized multiple ways of possibly sending you home. However, it's all simply speculation and not an exact science at the moment. We don't even know if we even send you to your own universe..."Martian Manhunter said, his solemn tone made it clear that he wasn't sugarcoating anything.
Danny had then considered that there were multiple scenarios they had in mind, none of them were exactly proven to work.
"So...I guess I'll...just hang here...until then..."He said, sounding unsure.
"I'm sorry that we can't promise anything too concrete at the moment, but I assure you we'll find a way to get you home..."Superman said, speaking to the young hero with a serious yet calming tone in his voice.
"I wish that we could promise something more concrete though..."He added, staying neutral as to not get the ghost boy's hopes up too high.
"Don't worry. We've managed to do the most impossible things before and I have no doubt in my mind that your situation wouldn't be any different. We just have to find the answer..."Supergirl said optimistically.
Danny, while still wanting to go, felt a little better at her words.
"Thanks, Supergirl. I'm glad I ended up on this Earth, at least it has people willing to help out..."He said, as he tries to stay positive.
"Could be worse, you could've ended up on an Earth were you're evil..." Flash joked.
"Been there, it sucked..." Danny said, knowing that was technically time travel, but the idea is still the same.
"So, where should we have him stay in the meantime?..."J'onn asked, since the Watch Tower is gonna need some minor repairs thanks to Lobo's antics.
"Why? There's still plenty of room up here..."Flash pointed out.
"True, but other world or not, he's still a teenager and should probably be a bit more, for lack of a better word, grounded in his experience..."Wonder Woman said, a bit more concerned about the ghost boy's mental health in staying in a place as far from as possible from Earth for an indefinite amount of time.
They also had to get back home soon and they can't just leave him here without proper supervision, as well as check on his physical and mental health during his stay in this universe.
Thankfully, Kara came up with her own solution.
"Then it's official, let me take him back to Metropolis…"Supergirl offered, pulling the ghost boy into her, much to his internal joy.
Superman gave a funny face, but his cousin soon put his thoughts into check.
"Oh come off it, Kal. He needs a place to stay and he can't stay here!…"She pointed out.
"Wait, I can't?!…"Danny said, as his face dropped as he looked outside. "But it's in SPACE and I already spent a day here and I'm perfectly fine! Why can't I stay here?…"He said, almost like a whine.
"Real space fan that we got here..."Green Lanter thought, almost amused while the ghost kid kept asking why he suddenly can't stay here anymore.
"We can't have someone with your known background staying at our headquarters in space for too long, especially since contacting Doctor Fate is going to take a while. It's not just a security risk, but it's also a way for us to have one less distraction inside the Watchtower. Besides, most of us need to return to Earth soon to protect our respective homes soon.…"Was heard.
Danny jumped at Batman's presence.
"Besides, the Watchtower is meant to provide survaillance on Earth in case there is any major threats, as well as be a temporary places to stay for work, it's not a hotel for superheroes. Not to mention it will take a day or two to fix the damage that Lobo caused just now..."He added.
"How did he do that? I didn't even hear him!..."He thought, while Kara kept trying to convince her cousin.
This Batman had a way of scaring the boy in ways he never knew.
"Come on. Let me take him back to Metropolis, at least. He could even help us out on patrols and stuff. Plus, we can keep a close eye on him personally..." Supergirl offered, as trying to point out the benefits in having Danny come with them.
Superman hummed, staring holes into the guest. The moment was tense with silence, only after a minute of careful thinking, was there a response.
"Alright. He can stay with us for the time being…just don't let him out of your sight..."Superman said to her seriously.
With a nod, Supergirl turned her attention to Danny.
"Looks like you've got a guide to this Earth…"Kara said, but collecting herself as she remembered Danny was still new to her universe.
"No worries, I'll show you the ropes on how not to stand out too much in this universe..." She said, as she beamed with a perfect white smile that nearly blind an average person.
When Danny saw her smile, he help blushed and tried not to look too goofy as he returned the friendly gesture with a smile of his own.
"Not the worst person to be stuck with on another Earth..."He thought, clearly infatuated with her.
Kal-El saw this and frowned.
"I'd better keep an EXTRA close eye on those two..."He thought, as he and the others made plans to return to Earth soon.
As this went on, one security camera zoomed in on the two teenagers talking. Someone on Earth was observing from the safety of their hideout.
"Another Earth, eh? Interesting..."Was heard, as the camera now focused on one of the super-powered teenagers.
All the while, a new plot was being formed.

6) Lo siento, no hay spoilers, pero tendremos que esperar y ver qué sucede.
TheWhiteTitan: Stargirl has been shown to get jealous of Supergirl for being more famous than she is.
Spider6as: Gracias :)
Ironchef13: Thank you for the suggestion. I will consider it.
Jay The Average Fanboy: Thank you :)
Here are my responses to your questions :)

a6spam: Sí.
FrostHunter: Yeah.
LockAndKey989: How is this?
Thunder Dragon : Thank you for the suggestion, but I already have a lot of fanfics that I am working on and I don't think I will be able to write this fic. Sorry.
