Three people stood in a room in an abandoned building. one of them being the number 2 in the world, The Winged Hero: Hawks. Despite the noise of the outside world, it was quiet until Hawks summoned one of his feathers and fashioned it into a blade and pointed it at the man in front of him. The black haired man in front of him was a disturbing looking person to any normal individual. His face, eyes, and arms were covered in gnarled purple skin that was attached to him with surgical staples. And his eyes were turquoise closely resembling the fire he was able to create.
The winged woman next to him motioned to help the man in danger, but he signaled her to calm down. The woman's wings visibly relaxed and folded against her back as she reluctantly backed down. Hawks eyed the woman intently, she was stunning… for a villain he thought. Her deadpanned eyes were crimson red and almost glowed in the dimly lit room like a small flame on a candle. Her dark brown hair reached the bottom of her back with long feathers highlighting her hair.
Hawks liked it when things went according to plan. He was an intelligent man, he knew that for a fact. When he saw Endeavor raised his fist in the air as the smoke revealed his battered form he smirked as he stared at his idol getting the adoration he deserved. This was better than he could have ever hoped for. But what bothered him the most was the information he was given was wrong and it would have cost him a great deal,"That was different from what we'd discussed," Hawks stated calmly. The man with the pointed feather blade at his neck seems unphased by it. In fact, he rolled his eyes in boredom.
"Is that so?" The winged man smiled in feign friendliness as if there wasn't a blade pointed at his so called ally.
"I was hoping we'd get along better than this, Dabi."
"Oh, I thought you only had your weak feathers left?" Dabi noted nonchalantly.
"Well I can't exactly meet with a liar unarmed," The winged woman eyed the blade intently in case Hawk's had any ideas. There was no way he could hand two villains on his own,"The plan was for tomorrow at the factory on the coast, not in the middle of the damn city."
"Not to mention that noumu. It was on a completely different level from the ones we've seen so far, I'd prefer you to tell those things in advance."
"I changed my mind, did I forget to mention it would be a test of the noumu's abilities? My bad."
"But we werent the only ones that acted outside of the plan, now were we?" The woman decided to speak, her voice sickly sweet but laced with poison, "You said you'd 'send some random strong guy'. But sending the number 1 hero doesn't exactly make for a good test. Did that ever occur to you?" Hawk's golden eyes met with hers in an attempt to keep his cool. It seemed like there was a long way to go before they could trust him.
"Well hey, it did some serious damage to the number 1, you should be happy. I haven't broken my promise, you're the only one who went back on his word."
"But it's even more unreasonable for you to think that I'd just trust the number 2 hero right off the bat. So this test was also to see if you were trustworthy." she said with a small smile oddly satisfied that he was visibly distraught by her words.
"Why exactly did today's little event get resolved with zero deceased? It's hard to believe someone who sympathized with our cause and requested to cooperate with us would act in such a way," Dabi added in. Obviously villains did not care about how many casualties there would be, they only wanted results. Results for their cause.
"I've got to keep up appearances on my end, I can't afford to lose the faith that's been placed in me as a more confidence everyone has in me, the more valuable the information i'll receive. And that information is beneficial for you all. You should be looking at the bigger picture here," Hawks loosened his grip on the blade and pulled it away from Dabi's neck. The gnarled man began to walk towards the exit with the winged woman following right behind him,"Everything I do, I do for the League, Dabi."
"Well… I still won't let you meet the boss for the time being but… I'll contact you again, Hawks," As they walked away, the woman stared at Hawk's back. His wings were stubby due to the rest of them being burnt to ashes by Endeavor's flames. All she could think as she looked at his back was how small he looked. Then he looked over his shoulder and their eyes met before she turned around to catch up to Dabi.
