Chapter 2: Durmstang
Harry was waking up at the age of 11. He was finally going to go to Durmstrang which was situated in Denmark. He had gotten his wand at the age of 8 and had begun to practice for a few dueling tournaments for under 9. He had managed to win the German league and European tournament in his age group.
People across Europe were beginning to know his name with how bad he beat kids in the tournaments. It was fairly well known around Europe that if you dueled against a German it would be a tough fight because in German you were trained to be ruthless and have no regard for your opponent. Of course you were told to not kill them, but you were never told to not hurt them.
He had also gained a lot of experience on brooms and in Quidditch. He was amazing at flying just like his father. He was an Amazing seeker and was in a contract with the Quidditch team Borussia Dortmund that said he would join the team at the age of 12. They had to go to FIQV to get approved for the signing because of his age. He was approved since he was around 5'7 which was around average height for a German male. Only two inches shorter which he would probably grow in a year.
That signing caused outrage in England where they were mocking Dortmund. The British Minister Fudge even mailed a letter to Borussia Dortmund asking them if their manager was alright. The response was even funnier. That was because in a press conference the manager said that Fudge must be a bad Minister if he was wasting time mocking a Quidditch team in Germany instead of running an extremely powerful country.
That made people around the world begin to call the manager big balls Weiß because he had the balls to stand against a minister. Weiß was his last name which meant white. White was even a relative to the Blacks which was funny since they were both colors.
The first time Harry said a swear word was when Sirius said scheiße. He was six at the time and he heard Sirius say it when he dropped a fork on his foot. It was funny because Harry didn't even get in trouble. It was Sirius who was flamed by Clara who was in the kitchen at the time. She heard him say it then Harry and immediately she called him out for bad parenting. Harry realized he said a bad word and he ran out of the room and up to his bedroom.
Harry was currently on a plane to København from Dortmund. He often went to places on plane since his family owned a plane manufacturing company and airports across Europe. København was where all the kids that were to go to Durmstrang had to go. Clara and Sirius contemplated sending him to Beauxbatons since Dortmund was so close to France. They decided to go with Durmstrang since Denmark was closer to them. In Durmstrang they all taught in German so you either learnt the language or you were out.
The headmaster was Erich Scheen. He was originally from München, but became the Dark Arts teacher at Durmstrang. Then Karkaroff was arrested by the German Ministry in København because the Danish Ministry was kind of a puppet of the Germans after the 5th Wizarding war. Apparently he had done some raping in Germany while recruiting Germans to become Death Eaters. Or shit eaters as Sirius called them.
Harry had made a few friends in Germany. A few of them were a bit older than him and were in the Borussia Dortmund youth academy. Harry would've joined, but he was already contracted to join the men's team next year. He was fine with that as he could train with Sirius who was an excellent player as he had spent some time in Union Berlin and Bayern Munich. It was very funny that in the Men's game the league 1 teams were named after the muggle football/soccer version.
That meant that Borussia Dortmund also had an identical team name in the muggle world. Some teams were as good as their muggle counterparts like Manchester City in England was quite bad compared to their muggle team. The best team in the English Quidditch league was by far Arsenal F.C which was only good because they managed to get Ivan Krum who was the father of the up and coming quidditch star Viktor Krum who was in a contract with Eintracht Frankfurt which was almost winning the league with only Dortmund, Munich and Union Berlin ahead.
Harry landed København and began the 20 minute long car ride to the Viking Ship that would go to Northern Jutland. Harry was bored out of his mind and couldn't wait to go to Durmstrang. He had received a random letter a few hours before they left, but never bothered to open it. He figured it was from someone from Borussia Dortmund. Harry wasn't sure though and decided he would read it on the Ship going to Jutland.
After 20 minutes they arrived in a harbor that was magically charmed to not be visible to muggles. Harry said goodbye to Clara and Sirius and after a few emotional hugs he grabbed his trunk and carried it to the Harbour where he gave a wizard a ticket before going on board. Once he was on board he was overwhelmed by everything going on the ship. There were giant birds out, people casting spells, and there were even people dueling.
Harry didn't pay attention to them and walked over to where the 1st year section of the Ship was so he could find a room to stay in for the ride. He found an empty room and decided to stay in that room. Most of his few friends were in their upper years so he would rarely see them. He sighed in loneliness and decided now would be a good time to read the letter.
He opened the letter and began to read.
Dear Harry Black,
I don't know if you remember me, but I was your opponent in the finals for the under 17 EU dueling tournament. I was wondering if you wanted to train together for more dueling tournaments. From what I understand you are in a contract with Borussia Dortmund to play for them, so I understand if you aren't able. I hope you'll write back as soon as possible.
Fleur Delacour
PS: I understand that we are in school so hopefully we can work out a way to meet if you agree.
Harry was starting to remember the girl named Fleur Delacour who was his opponent. He couldn't see anything wrong with agreeing the only problem was they were going to get together. Harry guessed he would have to research in the Durmstrang Library which was massive and had zero restricted books. At that moment he decided to write back since the Ship wasn't moving for another 20 minutes. Harry swore under his breath. Why was it so hard to write a letter to a 14 year old girl?
Dear Fleur Delacour,
I have read your letter and after some careful decisions I've decided that it couldn't be bad to write back and accept. I figured that I could research ways we could travel unnoticed and through national borders very quickly. My guess is that we could use undetected and unrestricted portkeys or we could buy Besenboxen brooms which are pretty speedy, but also illegal in France.
Harry Black
Harry thought it looked good and put it into an envelope. He stood up and went to the deck of the Ship where his hawk was sitting on the railing.
"Hey girl, can you take this to a girl named Fleur Delacour? She lives in Beauxbatons, France and will take a lot of work." Harry told the bird. The hawk named Flamme nipped his ear before allowing Harry to tie the letter around his foot. Flamme took off into the sky quickly and began to head south towards France.
Harry walked back to his room when someone knocked on the door. A tall boy with Brown hair and blue eyes entered the room after Harry let him in. Harry looked at him questioningly for a while until the boy realized he was supposed to talk.
"Can I stay with you? All the other rooms are full and the last room I was in I had to stay with 5 gossiping girls." He said.
"Sure. My name is Harry Black. What about you?" Harry asked as he looked at the tall boy.
"My name is Max König. I'm a first year student by the way." Max said he held out his hand.
"Same. So what do you do in your freetime?" Harry asked him.
"Well I play Quidditch as a chaser." Max said.
"I love Quidditch. I play as a Seeker. Any contracts yet?" Harry asked.
"Nah, I'm gonna get some in a month or two. I'm probably going to get a Dortmund contract if they keep signing kids." Max said with a grin.
"I'll endorse you since I'ma play for Dortmund next year when I turn twelve which is just when the new season starts. It's gonna be tough since the Champions league is a few months after I start. Luckily it's not too far and it's in Bordeaux." Harry said with a smile.
"Hey Beauxbatons is right by Bordeaux so I bet you there will be a lot of students there. In fact I believe they call for classes where there are games during that time so you can go to the matches." Max said before adding."You'll probably get a girl when you're in France."
"I won't be in France for the entire season, I'll be going back and forth." Harry responded as he bought some chocolate for the whole ride from a lady that was selling candy.
"Thanks; I didn't know that. I thought you were there the whole season then you came back for summer where there are no more tournaments unless it's a world cup year." Max said in understanding.
The two kept talking about lots of things such as classes, houses and quidditch. They weren't really bothered the entire ride, but that wasn't bad. Harry and Max just ate chocolate for a while before they felt like they were able to survive the long trip.
Harry learned that Max had 3 siblings. 2 sisters and 1 brother. His sisters were all older than him with the oldest being 13 and the youngest being 12. His brother however was 9 years old. Max was also from Germany and from Essen.
They arrived at the harbor at 8:30 PM. There was a looming castle on a mountain side. And a long road going up the road. Harry looked out the window and realized that they had made it to Northern Jutland.
"We're here." Max said with a grin.
Harry grabbed his trunk and walked out the door with Max following shortly behind him. They walked down the wooden stairs that were created that allowed them to walk onto the docks. They followed other students towards a large flat field where there were lots of carriages that were pulled by horses. They found a carriage with only another person inside it that looked around their age.
"Hello, what's your name?" Harry asked.
"Karl, Karl Johan." Karl said.
"Our names are Harry and Max. Where are you from?" Harry asked.
"Oh I'm from Switzerland. How about you?" Karl asked.
"I'm from Dortmund and he's from Essen." Harry said with a smile at making a new friend.
The trio laughed and got to know each other more and before you knew it the carriage had stopped. Harry looked around in confusion. Then Karl grabbed his trunk and notified them that they made it to Durmstrang. Harry hopped out of the carriage.
"Fick mein Leben." Harry said in shock as he looked down.
"What? Scheiße that's a drop." Max said in shock.
They were on a bridge that connected two mountain peaks with a giant valley separating the mountains. They were extremely high up and at any moment they could slip off. The three friends immediately began to carefully walk to the courtyard they could see before the entrance of the castle. They walked until they were at the entrance of the castle. The large dark spruce wood doors standing tall with pride. They were about to enter Durmstrang for the first time.
That's the next chapter finished. I'm wondering if I should make another story right now or should wait later because I have an idea I think would be good.
