We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.
The school system, the way it is set up, is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. And, a school sporting event, can bring out the best and worst of the students that are playing. This is the competitive Junior year.
The tugs theme then plays
Junior's POV
Knowing that Harold was going to be okay, Bertha was now more determined than ever to get us our third straight championship. What was interesting, was that Hudson wasn't making any rude comments anymore. In fact, he hardly ever said anything at all. He wasn't insulting anyone, nor was he giving any compliments. What surprised me even more, was the person I saw on the way out of the stadium after one of the practices on Halloween.
Reader's POV
"Oh hey Alyssa, I haven't seen you since you graduated last term" said Junior. "Ever since then, i've been planning out ideas for another competition" said Alyssa. "What idea did you come up with this time?" asked Junior. "This time I was thinking of something simple, I was thinking about a foot race" said Alyssa. "Except this time, I want you to compete." "Well my speciality is baseball, i'm not a jogger" said Junior. "Last time I checked, baseball requires a lot of running" said a voice. Leonard then walked up to them. "You have to move fast to get around the bases." "You of all people should know that, considering how your very first run was an inside the park home run" said Alyssa.
Junior's POV
I then explained to her that when I ran around the bases to score the home run, it wasn't nearly the distance that joggers run on marathons. She tried to make a claim about the running I did on the Ridongculous race, but that argument didn't work, because none of the legs in the competition was a flat out race from point A to point B. Every single one of them had some kind of obstacle. However, with no game that weekend, I didn't have anything better to do. I decided, sure thing, why the hell not?
Reader's POV
About 20 people showed up for the the race. Two of them were Zoey and Ezekiel. Ezekiel had mostly recovered from the crap he had gone through while he was drugged. He had managed to grow most of his hair back, and was starting to grow a mustache. Ryan and Stephanie from the Ridongculous race also turned up. Originally they were just there to visit Junior, but jumped at the opportunity to stretch their legs. Leonard then walked up to them, but instead of his usual wizard attire, he was wearing a referee's outfit. "Okay people, I expect a clean race here" he said. "Step out of line, and you will be disqualified." "It's a 1 fifth of a mile run to the old oak tree and back." "You are not allowed to make physical contact with your competitors in any way shape or form." "You are not to start running, until my girlfriend waves the green flag." "Wow, I didn't know you thought of Tammy that way" said Ryan. "We are not dating and we never will, we are just friends" said Leonard. "Then who's your girlfriend?" asked Ezekiel. "Better question, what the hell happened to your Canadian accent?" asked Ryan. Sierra then showed up, and kissed Leonard on the cheek. "Oh hell no" said Stephanie.
Junior's POV
I know what a lot of you are thinking. How the hell did Leonard and Sierra fall in love? At the time, I was as confused as you are. Nobody thought Sierra would get over Cody. The race then happened, and Ryan easily won. His prize was a box full of slinky's. I ended up finishing sixth, and then proceeded to ask Leonard how he got together with Sierra. It turns out, Cody took Terrence's advice, and told Sierra that he didn't think of her that way, and then set her up on a blind date with Leonard. I had no idea, that Cody would eventually end up in a fight, and win by a landslide. But that is a story for another day.
Authors note: I do not compete in track and field races, and I do not intend to any time soon. I'm not unfit, but I still don't have the same endurance and willpower as the professionals.
The reason why Ezekiel no longer has an accent, is because when some people get older, their voice tends to change.
Believe it or not, a blind date his how my parents met.
Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
