The streets were bathed in a neon green light as Ina blocked yet another blast of energy from Fauna with her tentacles.
"Aren't you going to fight back?" Fauna taunted, "You can't possibly block everything!"
Ina narrowed her eyes at Fauna while blocking another beam from her.
Fauna grinned in triumph when she managed to knock Ina back a couple of feet.
Ina looked at the goddess of nature, "I made a promise long ago... that I'd never let my powers be used to hurt anyone ever again..." she panted.
Fauna paused for a moment, "That's admirable... but it's not going to help you or your friends." she remarked coldly.
Ina shook her head slowly, "Maybe not," she admitted, "But I keep my promises."
Fauna scoffed and looked like she was readying another attack, before Sana appeared between the two girls.
"Sana?" Fauna questioned, sounding confused.
Sana looked at Fauna, her expression stern, "She doesn't want to fight Faufau, just let her be." she said calmly.
"But Bae said-" Fauna began, but Sana cut her off.
"I know what she said, but it's a waste of time and energy!" Sana insisted, "C'mon Faufau, you know what mercy is." she added with a slight smile.
Fauna frowned slightly, but nodded, "Alright, let's find Bae." she said reluctantly.
Ina stared, her mouth slightly agape, as the two gods took off into the sky.
"They… showed me mercy?" Ina muttered to herself dumbfounded, were these
really the vengeful gods the ancient texts described?
Ina didn't stay put thinking about it for long, however, she had to make sure the others were okay.
