Chapter 6: The Meeting
Harry was in a relatively good mood as he walked out of his last class on Sunday which was Crafting class which they would have every Sunday in the morning. It was a pretty good class. He had impressed the professor by carving a log of wood into a sword with his wand. He was walking with Karl, Max and a few others to breakfast. He was going to have to eat quickly before his meeting with Fleur. He told his friends about it and they were going to cover for him.
"I'm going to the room," Harry told them as he stood up and picked up his bag.
"Why? It's a Sunday." Karl questioned in confusion as they began to leave the dining hall.
"You know why. I'm going to sleep as I'm quite tired." Harry said the last part a bit louder so others could hear so they wouldn't ask questions.
Harry entered his room and got on his casual muggle clothes. He opened a window that was right above a lake. He slipped out the window and held onto a ledge which he got on top of. Harry began to carefully walk to a corner where he began to climb up the wall and onto the bridge. Harry's foot slipped on the bridge because of how slick it was with the water from the lake splashing onto the bridge.
Harry grasped the white marble railing and pulled himself up. He got onto the bridge then began walking down the path to the edge of the school grounds where the wards ended. Harry used an ancient method of transportation he found in the Black Manor. He made it to the border between Denmark and Germany. Harry quickly slipped past the border guards and made it into Germany.
Magical countries could detect if a magical person crossed into their land in a magical form which would cause a hit wizards to come investigate to make sure nobody bad came. He quickly apparated to Frankfurt and began to swiftly walk towards a coffee shop they agreed to meet at. It was 9:57 AM meaning he only had 3 minutes until the meeting. He reached the shop in time and quickly found silver hair sitting alone at a table reading a newspaper. Harry walked over to her and sat down.
"Are you Fleur?" Harry asked hesitantly as she lowered her newspaper.
"Yes I am. Are you here for the meeting?" She asked him.
"I am. So what did you need to talk to me about?" Harry asked her.
"How about we get coffee first then we'll go somewhere more private to discuss this." Fleur said as she waved over a waitress.
"What can I get for you?" The waitress asked as she pulled out a notepad and a pen.
"I'll have a Vanilla Latte," Fleur said as she smiled at the woman.
"I'll have the same," Harry said as the woman turned to him.
"Alright I'll have that in a bit." She said before turning around and walking back to the barista to give her the order.
"Did you have an easier time getting out of Beauxbatons than I did from Durmstrang?" Harry asked with a grin.
"I may have just walked out of the school." Fleur said with a smile as if she did the craziest thing in the world.
"Well I climbed out a window and almost fell into a lake. I also had to get past Border guards." Harry said as the waitress walked over with their drinks in hand. She also put the bill on the table.
"I'll pay." Fleur said as she began to take out a 20 Franc bill.
"We aren't in France, we're in Germany. By the way, the coffee would cost like 30 Francs, not 20." Harry said as he took out 15 Marks.
"I'm not German, so it was just a mistake." Fleur said.
"I was born in England, not Germany." Harry said with a laugh. They stood up with their cups in hand and they left the shop into the cold German air."So you said something about a private place to converse about the serious thing."
"Oh yeah we're going to an apartment my family bought for vacation in Germany." Fleur said as they walked a mile to an apartment complex.
They reached the complex and walked up the stairs. They walked to room 11995. Fleur pulled out a key chain from her purse which unlocked the door. She turned the doorknob and opened the door. They walked inside and sat on the couch where they began to converse.
"So what did you need to talk to me about?" Harry asked before taking a sip of his coffee.
"I was impressed by your performance in the dueling championship. You even won it. I wanted to ask you if you could teach me." Fleur asked Harry hesitantly.
Harry thought of a response for a while. This was getting Fleur a little bit nervous which she wasn't liking. Harry was quite confused with what to tell her. He didn't want to be a duelist and had just entered for fun.
"Look, I'm not trying to become a duelist. I only entered for fun. I can teach a bit, but most of the things I know are considered dark magic. I'm probably going to continue the Black businesses and run the family. I have nothing else to do. It's not like there will be another wizarding war." Harry said, still in his thoughtful state.
"So are you not able to train me?" Fleur asked, showing a little bit of disappointment.
"I can train you, it's just that I'm not planning on dueling anymore. I guess you can say I'm retiring from dueling." Harry told her.
She lit up in a bright smile and hugged him which shocked even her. Harry and Fleur began talking about different ways he could teach her. They ended up in a discussion on how you could implement different subjects into your dueling styles. Fleur finally remembered what she was going to discuss at the beginning.
"Harry, I have something to tell you. I know German newspapers don't really show anything that isn't from mainland Europe, but French ones do. I found out that the Potters are still alive and that one of their sons is missing or dead." Fleur said carefully.
Fleur watched him closely as Harry began to process this info carefully. Realization struck Harry like a bullet. She could feel his magic flair as he understood what she was trying to say. He was furious at what he realized. He had a family that gave him away.
"Are you implying that I have a family in England that left me and dumped me on some doorstep? I was always told they had died by my aunt and uncle." Harry said dangerously low. It was a voice nobody ever heard because it only came out when something really bothered him.
"Yes I am. There was a headline about a boy named Michael Potter. He has apparently signed for Montrose Magpies at the age of 15 in their youth squad which will promote him when he becomes 16." Fleur said while reading the paper.
Harry grinned and said,"Guess he's playing against me in the Champions League next year by simply looking at the standings in England and Germany."
"Yeah probably, but that means you'll meet your brother next year if not this one. I mean he's probably heard of you, but doesn't know you are his brother yet." Fleur said while patting his shoulder to calm him down.
"I'm not sure how he'll act though. My parents probably spoiled them because he hailed the boy who lived. Hopefully my sister is better though." Harry said thoughtfully before he groaned.
"What is it?" Fleur asked him when she heard him groan in annoyance.
"I have to go to Dortmund tomorrow for training after lunch so I will have to skip the best class, dark arts." Harry said.
"So sad. Now I gotta go back to Bordeaux and you should head back to Durmstrang." Fleur said as she stood up and put her coat on.
"I don't want to go through border patrol though." Harry said.
"I don't care you're going back to school," Fleur said as she opened the door leaving Harry sitting in silence.
Harry stood up and got his hoodie on before throwing his coffee away. He stepped into the cold air before locking and closing the door. He walked down the stairs out into the parking lot. Harry picked up some snow and ate it before apparating to the border between Denmark and Germany.
He quietly slipped past security and ran to the forest. He hid behind a tree before apparating farther north. He appeared on the path leading up to the front doors of Durmstrang. Harry slid down the side of the bridge and onto the ledge. He slowly and carefully walked to the window that led into his dorm. He finally reached it and knocked on it. Max appeared and slid it open, letting Harry into the room.
"How'd it go?" Max asked him as Harry was taking off his shoes.
"It went well for most of it. I found out I have a brother and sister in England. They're the Potters. They'd be really pissed and confused when they find out I'm alive and a Black at that." Harry said before he sat on the side of his bed.
"Didn't he join the Magpies in their youth squad?" Karl asked them as he entered the room from the bathroom.
"Yeah that means I'll play him in the U-18 Champions League. That'll be interesting because he is also a chaser." Harry said with a grin.
"I have to ask, how will you balance your Dortmund training and Wolverine training?" Max took a sip of orange juice before continuing."Won't you also join the German National Team when you are 17?"
"Yeah I will, but I may just skip a few Wolverine training sessions if it gets in the way with Dortmund." Harry said as the door opened.
"Professor Melkov wanted you to have this." A girl said as she handed Harry a slip of paper before leaving.
"It's just a pass excusing me from all afternoon classes tomorrow because of my training tomorrow," Harry said.
"Alright well I'm going to take a nap so you do whatever it is you do." Max told the other boys.
Harry and Karl decided to finish their homework that's due tomorrow. They got quite a lot done without the other boy because Harry wouldn't be distracted making jokes with Max. They finished around night so they decided to call it a day and went to bed.
