ACT II – SCENE 13
[In a dark silent room, we initially hear nothing. But then, CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! We see a hammer hitting a glowing orange piece of metal forged into blade. Each hit gives off a vibrating shake to the blade, sending sparks flying off from the blade.]
[FOOOOOOM! A lit furnace light up with a wave of intensity as we see a sword blade getting roasted within the flames. The blade turns a bit within the inferno.]
[SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SHING! We see a blade being sharpened against a rotating grindstone. Sparks fly as the blade gets treated.]
[We see several of the male and female warriors taking the new sword blades and trying them out through fighting motions to get a feel of them.]
[SH- SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SH-SHLEP! One male warrior places his sword goes into its sheath.]
[SHLEP! SHLEP! SHLEP! SHLEP! We see two female and two male warriors place their swords into their sheaths.]
[The entire Female and Male Army, now fully integrated with each other, face forward at attention. We see Jack standing in front of them. Masako and Norio are next to him.]
Jack: Kingdoms who believe in individual freedom and liberty will always have enemies who do not share those values. It has become apparent to me and to us all that we must always be on the alert. Our enemies will find any way to destroy us and what we cherish most. Whether it is our families, our homes, or even our very lives, we must stand strong and on guard to defend. Starting tonight, we must begin a complete watch of our Kingdom. You will be designated into four watch groups, alternating every twelve hours.
[Norio and Masako hold up two scrolls of parchment.]
Jack: Commanders Norio and Masako will tell you which groups you are in and your duties.
[Jack points to a large conical tam-tam hanging from a gazebo on top of the Palace.]
Jack: If an emergency defense is needed, we will sound the alarm, and everyone will report on guard immediately.
[Jack stands tall in front of his Army.]
Jack: Let's do it!
[At night, we see the Kingdom Castle from a distance softly lit by the full moon. We hear nothing but the gentle breeze flowing through.]
[The camera pans from right to left above the Kingdom boundaries, seeing Soldiers, fully armored and armed, patrolling the border in equally-spaced intervals.]
[The camera pans from left to right, showing three Soldiers, fully focused, armored and armed, battle-ready.]
[At the peak of the Castle is the alarm Gong, protected by four fully-armored and armed Soldiers at each corner of the Gong gazebo.]
[At the Gong gazebo, one Soldier opens his eyes a little bit, then looks out towards the fields past the camera.]
[From behind the left-hand side of the Soldier's helmet, we see a slowly approaching block of dots approaching the Kingdom.]
[In the fields, we hear low rumbling, gently vibrating the camera. Then, the whole camera shakes violently as the sound swiftly gets more intense. The camera's view is then populated by many armored horses, galloping towards the Kingdom.]
[We see the front of the armored horse, snorting and grunting as it gallops. As the camera zooms out, we see on top of this particular horse is the Lead Bandit. He is angrier and more focused than before.]
[The Lead Bandit scowls with blood vessels bulging around his cheeks.]
[The Lead Bandit screams in pure rage.]
Bandit: BURN IT ALL!
[The Lead Bandit's Army lets out a Battle Yell with their spears and swords raised.]
[In a Village home, a Village soldier grabs his sword, shield and helmet.]
[In another Village home, a Village soldier swiftly wraps herself in her battle Gee and secures her sword on her waist.]
[Outside the Village homes, we see several Village soldiers fall into Battle Block formation, which has already amassed into 500 strong. At the front of the block is Jack, standing tall in his White Gee and his Father's sword on his waist.]
[On the ground, the camera pans to show the Village soldiers in attention, battle-ready. Jack's feet in sandals is eventually seen. The camera pans up Jack to his face, battle-ready and unwavering.]
[From the distance in the mountains, we hear distant thunder that is horses galloping.]
[We see a close-up of Jack's eyebrows crouching down into his signature scowl.]
[Over the mountains, we see the Army of Bandits approaching on their horses.]
[We see a close-up of the Lead Bandit, galloping on his horse in pure rage, undeterred from his raging mission.]
[SH-SH-SH-SHLING! Jack swiftly unsheathes his sword, raising it up into the air. He cries out an order.]
Jack: (yelling) ARCHERS!
[All the Soldiers raise their bows up, pointing drawn arrows up towards the sky in front of them.]
[Jack focuses on the enemy as the camera gently zooms in on Jack's face.]
[In a widescreen shot from far above, we see the Village and the Army block on the left and the Bandit Army approaches from the right.]
[The camera focuses and gently zooms in on Jack's laser-focused face. The camera stops zooming in when Jack barks an order.]
Jack: (yelling) RAIN!
[TWANG! TWANG! TWANG! We see the Army bows letting loose and letting the arrows fly into the sky.]
[We see hundreds of arrows being launched into the sky away from the Village.]
[We see another angle where the majority of the arrows have reached their apogee of their flights and start flying down back to Earth.]
[The Lead Bandit, still galloping on his horse, sees the arrows above and screams an order.]
Bandit: (yelling) SHIELDS!
[The Bandits all raise up their round shields above themselves.]
[THOT! THOT! THOT! We see several arrows hit and stick themselves into the Bandits shields.]
[SHLEP! An arrow hits the neck of a Bandit's horse, sending it whining and CRASH! falling to the ground, causing a Bandit to scream in pain.]
Bandit1: AAAARGH!
[SHLEP! SHLEP! SHLEP! We see more Bandits and their horses follow a similar fate of the arrows hitting the horses, sending the horses and Bandits to the ground!]
Bandit2: UUGH!
Bandit3: AAAGH!
Bandit4: YEEAH!
[The Lead Bandit looks behind him while his shield is still defending his head. He growls in disgust.]
Lead Bandit: FORWARD! KEEP GOING!
[SHLEP! An arrow hits the Lead Bandit's horse, sending the Lead Bandit flying in the air for a moment, then BAM! the Lead Bandit hits the ground HARD face-first. Among the whining horses, flying arrows and yelling Bandits, the Lead Bandit slowly pulls himself up from the dirt, groaning. The Lead Bandit looks around, and then ahead.]
[From the Lead Bandit's perspective, he sees Jack standing, pointing his sword at the Bandits. The Lead Bandit growls.]
Lead Bandit: (growling) The Prince…..
[The Lead Bandit stands, unsheathes his sword, and points to the Village Army and screams.]
Lead Bandit: (screaming, angry) KILL!
[The Lead Bandit runs forward, followed by several other Bandits, all on foot.]
[Jack, seeing the Bandits, screams an order.]
Jack: (screaming) SWORDS!
[The Army immediately stops firing arrows, puts away their bows and arrows, and immediately draw their swords.]
[Jack points towards the Bandits.]
Jack: (screaming) CHARGE!
[Jack runs towards the Bandit Army, followed by the Village Army.]
[In widescreen, we see the Bandits running to the left side of the screen, swords drawn, yelling their battle cry.]
[In widescreen, we see the Village Army running to the right side of the screen, swords drawn, yelling their battle cry.]
[We see the Lead Bandit yelling his battle cry as he raises his sword above his head. His Army is following him in the same manner.]
[We see Jack yelling his battle cry as he raises his sword above his head. His Army is following him in the same manner.]
[CLANG! CLANG! SHING! CLING! WHOOSH! We see Jack and the Lead Bandit engage in a vicious swordfight, starting with Jack blocking one front attack, returning two side attacks, blocking one low attack, and rolling away from a swift upper attack.]
[From a short distance above, we see the two armies engage in vicious, lightning-fast swordfights, with Jack and the Lead Bandit in the center of it all.]
[Inside the infirmary, we see The Girl squirming in her bed. All of her bandages appear to be removed from her, indicating that she's in better physical shape. The Girl is nervously muttering to herself as she is trying to silence the metal clanging sounds from outside.]
The Girl: (squirming) ….N-….No…..Don't…Do-…
[At the battlefield, we see several images of the Village Soldiers and Bandits exchanging fast, deadly blows with their swords at a lightning fast average rate of 6 attacks per second.]
[We see Jack and the Lead Bandit exchanging blows at the exact same rate of attack.]
[We see a close up of the Lead Bandit's face past the sparks of the swords, boiling in rage.]
[We see a close up of Jack's face past the sparks of the swords, laser-focused but still and calm.]
[We see Jack and the Lead Bandit continuing their fight, but then SLICE! The Lead Bandit gets a slight hit on Jack's right arm.]
Jack: (screams) AAAAAAH!
[The Girl, in the Infirmary, hears Jack's painful cry. After a momentary pause, The Girl continues squirming, only with tears in her eyes.]
The Girl: (squirming, choked) No-…..I can't…..I….c-..c- I cannot…
[The Lead Bandit raises his sword, wanting the final blow, but Jack swiftly evades with a SLICE! Jack clips the Lead Bandit's right foot.]
Lead Bandit: (screams) AAAAAAHH!
[The Lead Bandit stops, looks at his leg, seeing its an identical scratch he gave Jack. He looks in rage towards Jack.]
[Jack stands tall, his sword still in his right hand, not minding the blood trailing from the right arm.]
[The Lead Bandit lets out a blood-thirsty scream and charges towards Jack.]
[Jack responds with his battle cry and charges towards the Lead Bandit.]
[We see Jack and the Lead Bandit exchange 40 attacks in lightning-fast succession.]
[CLANG! We see Jack pressing an attack towards the Lead Bandit, holding steady. The Lead Bandit notices the blood-soaked sleeve on Jack's Gee. Suddenly, the Lead Bandit swiftly rolls away from Jack but BAM! the Lead Bandit manages to land a fist punch on Jack's wound on his right arm. Jack lets out a painful scream.]
Jack: (painful) AAAAAAHHHH!
[In the Infirmary, The Girl is visibly shaken by the scream. She tears up and starts crying into her pillow.]
[Using his left hand, Jack fends off 12 attacks from the Lead Bandit before SCHLIP! The Lead Bandit gets a bigger cut on Jack's lower left leg, sending Jack reeling on the ground in pain.]
Jack: (painful) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGH!
[The Lead Bandit smiles with evil intent on his prey. He swiftly looks up.]
[A Bandit starts to lunge towards Jack as if to finish him. But then, SHLOT! The Lead Bandit shoves his sword into the Bandit's abdomen.]
Lead Bandit: You should've known better than to cross me.
[The Lead Bandit swiftly shoves the dead Bandit off of his sword, sending the corpse to the ground. The Lead Bandit returns his attention back to Jack. Smiling with pure, raging evil intent, he sees Jack writing in pain on the ground. The Lead Bandit handles his sword into the kill position and begins to raise it above his head. Suddenly, he stops as he hears an unfamiliar sound. He hears man after man screaming to their agonizing deaths from behind him. He looks behind him.]
[Past the Bandits and Soldiers fighting viciously, we see a couple of Bandits being tossed into the air as their blood spews out of their bodies in different places as they scream.]
[The Lead Bandit spits in their direction. He then redirects his attention back to Jack. The Lead Bandit raises his sword, preparing to kill Jack.]
[SHLING! The sound reverbs a little as we see Lead Bandit's face slowly go from smirking evil to lifeless wonderment. The camera zooms out slowly to reveal, in slow-motion, the Lead Bandit's head has been beheaded from his body, blood dripping out of the neck and spirting a little out of the body.]
[CLUNK! The Lead Bandit's head lands in front of Jack. Seeing this, Jack looks up towards the body.]
[We see the standing body of the Lead Bandit standing still for just a moment, then falls over towards Jack, revealing The Girl in armor with her sword, all soaked with blood. She looks at Jack with slight relief.]
[Jack is initially shocked, but quickly relieved as he smiles amorously to The Girl.]
[The Girl swiftly tosses a clean cloth to Jack as she runs to defend Jack.]
The Girl: I'LL COVER YOU!
[Jack takes the cloth, rips the cloth and goes to tend his arm.]
[The Girl lunges forward with a battle cry, slicing down a Bandit in blood, blocking a sword attack and then cutting off another Bandit's legs. She then jumps to the other side around Jack, slicing down another Bandit, then attacking another Bandit twice on the sword before slicing its torso.]
[As we hear The Girl scream a couple more battle cries, hear a few more sword clangs and more bodily hits, Jack swiftly bandages his Arm and his leg.]
[Jack stands up with his sword in hand, and lunges forward with a battle cry.]
[We see 8 different, alternating shots between Jack and The Girl striking down Bandits on the battlefield.]
[A moment later, all of the soldiers pant in exhaustion. Some are soaked in blood, others not so much.]
[The Girl, drenched in blood yet unphased, pants in fatigue.]
[Jack, panting with a little blood on him, looks around.]
[We see around the battlefield that all of the Bandits, along with a few Village soldiers have perished. The remaining Village soldiers stand tall in their victory.]
[Seeing the results, Jack looks at The Girl and smiles.]
[The Girl slowly smiles, but still tired.]
[Jack raises his sword and cries in victory.]
Jack:SHORI!
[The Army raises their swords and shout in victory.]
[The Girl raises her sword and shouts in victory.]
The Girl: SHORI!
[While more victory shouts are heard, we see blood-soaked battle Gees and swords being tossed to the green grass.]
[SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! We see all of the Army Men and Women jump into the river in their natural state.]
[We see the Army Men and Women celebrate in the river. Some converse civilly, others splash each other in a playful attempt to wash each other's blood off, and others embrace in respect or love.]
[Among the celebration, Jack has let his hair down and the blood washed off. He's enjoying the victory. As fellow men try to splash him, he evades them only to bump into The Girl. The Girl and Jack lock eyes. The men, seeing this, give Jack some room. Suddenly, The Girl and Jack embrace and kiss passionately. Seeing this, the Men and Women celebrate with a victory scream! The image FADES TO BLACK.]
