Chapter 1: The Beginning
Kasai Nokogiri, a tall, 16-year-old boy with crimson red hair and red eyes, walked past the gates of UA with his group of friends.
"After years of hard work, this is it." The girl had pink hair with similar colored eyes. This is Hoseki Nokogiri, Kasai's younger sister, looking up at the campus, a gleam in her eyes. "The final obstacle to achieving our goal."
Kasai rolled his eyes, "Stop being so dramatic Hoseki, we already went through enough speeches for the day."
"I barely even said anything!" Hoseki said.
A girl with golden hair with eyes the color of the sun gained a mischievous grin. This is Hoseki's twin sister, Hikaru Nokogiri. "Hoseki! Race!"
"Not this again." A boy with void black hair looked at the two of them annoyed, his black eyes glaring at them. This is Kurai Taishi, the three siblings' mutual friend.
"LAST ONE THERE HAS TO BUY ME 5 SODAS!" Hikaru exclaimed, disappearing in a brief but blinding flash of light.
"HIKARU! THAT'S NOT FAIR" Hoseki ran after her sister but soon after disintegrated into dust, the remaining three only being able to sigh.
The other examinees that had seen what happened were confused and silent.
"And they wonder why we don't bring them places." Kata Ikunangaku hissed, another mutual friend with gray hair and dark, crimson red eyes.
Kasai and Kurai nodded in agreement with the girl before making their way towards the auditorium, leaving a crowd of confused competitors.
After arriving at the auditorium, they saw the golden haired girl pouting while her sister sat victoriously with a grin on her face.
"I beat you at your own game!" Hoseki exclaimed, looking at Hikaru while her grin widened.
Hikaru's pout deepened. "You don't have to rub it in," she muttered.
Kurai gave a short chuckle at this, "Should have brought the map."
Everyone got seated and started conversing while Hikaru continued to pout. Suddenly, the lights in the auditorium dimmed, catching all of the examinees' attention, and a man with black hair and bags under his eyes made his way onto the stage, a microphone in hand and a scarf hanging around his neck.
"Quiet down everyone," he said in a monotone voice.
The audience quickly followed the man's instructions and quieted down, his gaze flicking across the crowd before he muttered something and continued.
"Welcome to the UA entrance exam. You all are here to try and get into this prestigious school but you all should know that not everyone here will be able to get in. Only the people with the most dedication, the most skill, and the most training will make it. Don't attempt to half-ass this exam or you will find that you lost your spot to someone who took this event more seriously." The man then reached into his scarf and a clipboard appeared, which the man quickly skimmed through. He looked back up to the crowd and cleared his voice. "To start off this exam, you all will take the academic portion of the test." The man blinked and his eyes suddenly glowed crimson, causing some in the crowd to tense up with anxiety "Cheating is forbidden. If we catch you, you will be kicked out and it will be put on your transcript." The man blinked again and his eyes went back to normal and he made his way out of the auditorium while their exam sheets were given out.

"Holy hell I feel like dying."
"I can agree." Kurai said exhaustedly as Hoseki continued muttering, cursing the exam.
The examinees were still located in the auditorium, waiting for their next proctor to enter and explain the next portion of the exam.
"It wasn't that hard." Hikaru said cheerfully.
"You probably failed." Hoseki stated with a small glare.
Before the two could continue to bicker, the lights again dimmed and the room quieted down.
A scantily dressed woman with purple hair then strutted into the room and caught everyone's attention, especially the males, who all stared down at the heroine, all of whom recognized the woman as the Pro Hero Midnight.
"Now that we are done testing your brains, it is time to test your bodies." The hero glanced around the crowd with a seductive look before continuing. "Before you all can go out and show off your stunning skills, we will have to go through how this test will work."
The screen behind the heroine then turned on and displayed 4 different robots, all of which were different in some way from the previous.
"In the physical exam, you will be competing in a free for all battle. Each person that you incapacitate, either with your quirk or by taking them to specific stations located around the city, will give you points. The amount of points that you receive will be kept track of by using headbands, similar to the second round of last year's sport festival."
After some time of Midnight explaining specifics, in which Kasai was musing about the best way to approach the future exam, Midnight finished and showed the examinees towards the exit that would take them to their exam locations, but she didn't leave without saying some things that made Kasai a little uncomfortable.
Hikaru and Hoseki finally found out that everyone in their group were put into different fields, which annoyed the two but they could only grumble. The group then got to a point where they would have to split up and wished each other luck and each made their way towards their exam locations.

Nae was following the crowd around her, making their way towards the exam location, stopping once they made it to a large gate. The gate slowly opened and all of the examinee's jaws dropped as they saw the size of their exam sight which seemed to be the size of a small city. The staff member promptly broke them from their trance and explained that the examinees would have five minutes to go into the city and get ready to start.
Following the staff member's words, Nae ran into the city, taking random turns until she couldn't see any other examinee and quickly scoured the ground before finding what she needed. Located in cracks in the asphalt of the road, a few small weeds grew. While small, they would do just fine and she swiftly plucked one of them out and it grew into the form of a bracelet.
She spent the rest of the time wandering around before the speakers flared to life and rang out.
"START!"
Instantly, the sounds of fighting and quirks being used could be heard throughout the city, but luckily, she hadn't been attacked yet.
Her instincts suddenly flared and she dodged a claw strike from behind by a hair. She turned around to see a girl with cat features standing a few feet behind her on all fours and seeming ready to pounce.
Nae activated her quirk and the weed that was wrapped around her wrist suddenly started to grow and formed a glove around her hand. The cat girl rushed forward at considerable speeds and sent a strike at Nae but the green haired girl managed to block the hit and send one of her own. The girl dodged and Nae's fist impacted the ground, but Nae's attack wasn't over as hundreds of small roots broke through the ground under the cat girl. The girl reacted quickly and jumped out of the way as quickly as possible but some damage was taken, as seen from the blood that was coming from the girl's paw-like hands.
Nae smiled as the ground under her fractured and a large stem grew under her feet, causing the other girl to take a few steps back. The large stem cocked back and launched Nae towards the other girl, who crouched down and extended her claws.
A grin overtook Nae's face as she landed and rushed towards the other girl. "This is going to be fun!"

Inside of a dark room, people were watching a bunch of screens that lined the wall.
"Well it seems that we have good candidates this year as well. Wouldn't you agree, Vlad?" said a man with a gas mask and cowboy hat on his head.
"Mhm, and this time, 1A won't be taking all of the good students, Aizawa."
"Maybe I didn't take all of the good students. Maybe you're just a bad teacher," the disheveled proctor said with a sigh.
Before the man named Vlad could reply, another voice took over.
"Why did that rat have to change the exam to something so dangerous! Look at how many of them are already getting hurt, and the exam is not even halfway finished!" exclaimed a short old woman who seemed to be glaring towards a small rodent-like animal.
"Look at kid go, Shota!"
The people in the room looked back towards a screen that the man was pointing at. On it, a red-haired boy was fighting another examinee with obvious skills in close ranged combat. Suddenly, a fiery explosion caused the boy that the red-haired kid was fighting to be launched towards him, and he knocked him out with a quick punch to the head. The knocked out boy's headband was then taken and he walked off to find another fight.
"Who is that kid?" asked Aizawa.
The small rodent peered through the papers on his desk before responding. "He is Kasai Nokogiri, he seems to have a background in some martial arts which might explain his hand-to-hand combat skills. He also has an impressive 22 points, which is very good considering that he hasn't initiated any fights," said the small animal.
Aizawa looked back at the screen. "Hmm, interesting. Seems this year has more potential than the last." He glanced over to two others in the room who had been quiet the entire time, "You two better get them into shape or I'll take over teaching them."
A man and a woman looked back at him, both with similar stoic expressions, nodded at his words.
"You won't have to worry about 1B, they will be ready to take on the hero world once I'm done with them."

Kasai had just finished fighting a competitor and was now on top of a building, searching for his next target. His eyes then locked onto a battle happening between a girl with cat features and the green haired girl from earlier. He immediately stood up from his crouching position and activated his quirk, a ball of fire swirling to life in his hands. He put one hand in front of the other, causing the flames in that hand to morph into the form of a bow. The fire in his other hand then formed into an arrow which he cocked into the bow. He pulled his hand back, the flaming string being put into extreme tension, and aimed towards the fight. He released the arrow and the string shot it towards the cat girl, who was unaware of the attack coming the way. The bow in his hand returned to its fiery form and separated into two fireballs, both of which condensed around his wrists.
The arrow that was aimed for the girl was noticed by her opponent and she suddenly stopped attacking, allowing the girl to rest. Without the cat girl knowing, her opponent timed when she would stop attacking, causing the cat girl to be right in the trajectory of the outside attack. The feline ears of the girl then twitched and she rapidly dodged forward, the arrow lodging into her tail from her late reaction.
The girl hissed and looked up towards his location which was several hundred meters from their battle. The girl then attempted to rip the arrow from her tail but her hands went right through the flames, giving her minor burns on the limb. The arrow then began to heat up, causing the feline girl to start writhing in pain. At the same time, Kasai jumped off the building and the flames around his wrists started to spread across his body, engulfing him entirely within a few seconds, the flames dispersing as they hit the ground revealing nothing but air.
From the fiery arrow, a hand grasped the girl's tail, causing her to yelp. She tried to get away from the hand, but before she could jump, multiple vines wrapped around her, incapacitating her. The flames from the arrow then expanded and dispersed, revealing Kasai in a crouching position. The green haired girl was caught off guard by this, but kept her hold over her original opponent and got ready to fight the familiar face.
They stood without moving for several seconds, before the cat girl spoke.
"Ok, let's be civil about this. We could just leave each other alone and go hunt other examinees."
Nae quickly glanced at her before returning her gaze to the red haired boy. "You're just saying that because you are the one that was captured."
The boy shrugged, "I'm fine with that, might be able to get more points by taking other people's headbands then staying here and fighting you."
Nae seemed to be engrossed in her thoughts before the cat girl spoke up. "Well if we are going to team up, then we should introduce ourselves! I'm Maneki Kin!"
"Kasai Nokogiri, and I don't think I agreed to team up."
"Well you are letting me go in an exam where you have to fight other people, so that could be taken as teaming up." The now named Maneki then turned her head to Nae, "What about you?"
The girl seemed to ponder over this before responding, "I'm Nae Shinrinyoku, and I'm going to leave."
Nae released Maneki and turned around to walk away but the cat girl stopped her, "We could team up and split the points that we get. Even though we would be getting less points, we would be able to take out people much faster. Now just join me and Kasai."
The girl contemplated it before sighing and walking back towards the two. "Fine, but if we don't get accepted, I'm going to find you and beat your ass."
Maneki grinned and jumped in excitement. Kasai had a slightly confused look on his face, "I didnt… you know what, fine."

A girl with fox-like features was running around exam site A and was currently fighting another girl for their headband. The fox girl lunged towards her opponent, who put up a block, but it was quickly broken as the fox girl had done a backflip, kicking her arms apart in the process, leaving the girl in the air parallel to the ground. This would have allowed the opponent to get in an attack if it weren't for the girl's nine tails, all of which entangled themselves around the other girl and seemed to have hardened. The girl was unable to do anything as she was rotated along with the fox girl and slammed into the ground, knocking her out.
She took the headband off of the unconscious girl and grinned, wiping some sweat from her brow. She went to dash off but a sudden voice caught her attention.
"What's up Biko! Long time no see!"
She immediately turned around ready to fight, her eyes slitted, but her body quickly relaxed as she saw who it was and a large smile came over her face.
"Hi Kurai, didn't think that I would see you here!"
"I honestly didn't think we would meet again after you moved. Glad to see that you didn't give up on becoming a hero after that depression you were in when we parted ways."
"Took me a while, but I managed to get over it and started working even harder after."
"You know, we should work together, for old times sake."
Suddenly, a projectile ripped through his arm making the girl jump, but she sighed and calmly looked over to him. Even though his arm had a massive hole through it, there was no blood, only what appeared to be a black goo. Biko angled her head to the right to look past Kurai's body to see another examinee standing in shock, still in a post-throwing position. When he saw that Biko was looking at him, he took a few steps back, looking almost traumatized.
Biko raised an eyebrow at this, "You good? You look like you saw a ghost."
Hearing this, Kurai turned his head to look at the boy who threw what he saw was a rock, a laid back expression on the black haired boy's face. The perpetrator seemed to become even more stiff when he saw the pure black eyes with a ring of white staring at him.
"I-Im s-sorry."
"It's fine, but you could have picked a better time to do that. I'm currently reuniting with an old friend, so for that, I'm going to be taking your headbands."
The hole that was in Kurai's left arm then instantly filled itself in, returning to new, causing the boy to step back from both shock and fear. He turned around to start running, but a black tendril grabbed onto his ankle and tripped him, causing him to slam face first into the ground. The boy managed to roll over, only for a white and fluffy tail to wrap around his neck, choking him. He tried to pry the tail off but it was tightly wrapped, and he slowly felt consciousness fade from his body.
Biko unwrapped her tail from around the unconscious boy's neck, him falling to the ground limp.
"Made sure to not kill him right?" Kurai asked in a joking tone.
"Yea yea, he's fine. Now how are we going to split these headbands?"
"Split it evenly."
"Hm, but what if I do most of the work?"
"Let's just split them evenly, I don't want to think too hard about headbands right now."

Maneki, Nae, and Kasai made their way through the city, taking opponents headbands then taking them to the safe zones, where they could either wait for the end of the exam or run back out to try and get more points.
The three were conversing when Nae saw a boy that wasn't paying attention to them. She grinned and held onto a tree that they had passed, the roots silently digging through the ground towards the boy. The boy then noticed them turning his head in their direction, but before he could do anything, the tree's roots broke through the ground under his feet and entangled him in a cocoon of bark with only his head being unrestrained.
Nae grinned at this and turned to the other two who had only just now noticed the other boy, "That's sixteen for me!"
A warm feeling then suddenly took over her body. She instantly suspected the red-haired boy in their group, but after a quick inspection, that red glow that had enveloped him the last time was nowhere. She then noticed that the other two were watching the boy she had captured, Maneki with slitted eyes, and when she turned around, she saw that he was glaring at them.
Suddenly, the warm feeling turned into that of searing hot pain, as if she was being burned alive. She fell to the floor and a scream escaped her mouth, alerting the other two that something was wrong with her. Maneki quickly ran to her side to check if she was alright, but it was obvious to the cat girl that Nae was in excruciating pain.
Kasai glared at the boy, the wood around him being burned by a viscous orange liquid that he could only assume to be lava. He straightened out his fingers and swiped his hand down, a wave of fire blasting towards the boy. However, the boy didn't even flinch when the flames touched him, the only thing that it did was cause even more of the wood to catch fire, another scream of pain erupting from Nae.
Maneki sent a light glare his way, the hyperventilating Nae laying in her arms, "Don't damage the plant anymore, it is putting Nae through excruciating pain."
Kasai's eyes widened and he cursed himself, looking back to the other boy to see that he was almost free with the lava dripping from his body. He could hear Nae sharply inhale every time some dripped onto the plant, he had to end this quickly.
A red mist surrounded him before condensing into multiple knife-like objects that were then sent hurtling towards the boy. Their opponent's eye's widened and he swung his now free arm up, a shield of magma being created and quickly being sent their way.
Kasai clicked his tongue, "Maneki, we have to get Nae to safety."
Their girl stopped checking over Nae and looked behind them, and saw the wave of lava moving towards them. Her eyes widened and she quickly dashed in the opposite direction, Kasai close behind her.
The boy behind them didn't chase, only gave a look of disgust at them. "Appears that they really were weak, using a sneak attack and then running away." The boy only clicked his tongue and continued looking for more points.
The group of three continued running, Nae relaxing once they got around 100 meters away from the boy.
"TIME'S UP!"
He and Maneki slowed down, a little shocked that that exam was already over. Maneki jumped a bit when Nae wiggled out of her grip and fell to the ground, attempting to land on her feet, but she failed and face planted into the ground. Kasai snorted as groans of pain came from Nae who was getting back to her feet.
Nae glared at him and he put his hands up in a sign of resignation, "Sorry. Are you okay now?"
"I'm mostly fine, but that hurt like a bitch."
Kasai turned around and started walking, "Well I hope to see you both in UA"
After making it back to the main campus of UA, he met up with the rest of his friends and they started chatting.
"That was so fun!" Hikaru nearly screamed.
Kurai scowled, "Hikaru please keep your voice down." A look of remembrance then came to his face, "Oh yea! I met Biko in the exam."
Kata perked up at this and grinned, "How is she doing?"
"She's doing fine."
The conversation continued with all of them sporting smiles on their faces.

Multiple people concealed by shadows were all sitting around a round table, none of them moving a muscle. A bell then rang and a tall woman stood up who had on a long coat that dragged across the floor.
"I'd like to start this meeting off with everyone's reports."
A man that was sitting next to the woman then casually stood up, being quite a bit taller than the woman with crimson eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. "The materials you asked of us have been obtained, we are now on standby for our next orders."
After the man sat back down, a woman with gray eyes and snow-white hair that reached her back then stood up, a devious grin on her face. "An ideal location has been found. No one will know about the operation until it is too late, but..." The woman then glanced towards another woman with similar colored, but much shorter hair and brown eyes. "Who is she?"
The woman visibly tensed up, causing a giggle to escape from the gray-eyed woman. The leader quickly motioned for the woman to sit back down and walked behind the aforementioned woman. The woman tensed up even further but she didn't dare to make a move against the leader of this dangerous organization.
The leader then put her hand on the woman's shoulder. "This, right here, is Gwendolen, a representative of the secret organization known as the 'Red Redemption'."
Gwendolen was trembling and visibly sweating, but she gathered her nerves and spoke up, "A-Are you sure this is a good idea, this w-would require us t-to kill so many i-innocent people. I-If you don't choose another path, then Red Redemption will be leaving this deal." As she spoke, her resolve hardened and she spoke clearer.
The leader's eyes narrowed at this, "Gwendolen, your organization thought that this operation could benefit them, so they agreed to work with us. After saying you would work with us, you think we wouldn't take any precautions when giving you our plans? Just know that it is now too late to go back on your word. We have multiple precautions, but all you need to know is that for you… just know that your daughter is being monitored."
The woman's eyes widened and she quickly stood up"NO! Kuro, leave her out of this!" Her new found resolve shattered and a shiver went down the woman's spine as she saw the leader glaring back at her.
The newly named Kuro walked back and took her seat, with Gwendolyn slowly sitting back down, a terrified look on her face. "Now, let's get down to business. It is now time to commence Desolation."

A week had passed since the entrance exam with Kasai and the other four patiently waiting for their letters to come.
Kasai was now sitting in his room with the long awaited letter in his hands. He let out a breath and ripped open the letter, but all that dropped out was a coin sized object.
He gained a confused look but he jumped back in surprise when it turned on and a white chimera took over the newly produced hologram.
"Hello Kasai Nokogiri. It is I, the principle of UA, Nezu! I have recorded this to inform you on whether or not you got into this prestigious academy, which you probably already knew. I must say, you did a very impressive job, especially considering that you split all of your points between three people. As for your score…"
A long pause overtook the room, Kasai feeling the mouse creature did this on purpose.
"You got a score of 58 villain points from the headbands which is more than enough to get you one of the top spots in the exam. But tell me, what type of hero school would we be if we didn't give rewards for helping others, so there was another scoring system we call rescue points." Kasai raised his eyebrows, he expected a few points to be rewarded for helping, but he didn't expect a completely different scoring system.
"The judges gave you a score of 15 rescue points, mainly from helping Shinrinyoku out of that tight you found yourselves in. With this, you have a total score of 73 points, giving you second place in this entrance exam." A list then appeared showing the top ten students in the exam.
1st place: Hoseki Nokogiri, 67 headband points, 23 rescue points
2nd place: Kasai Nokogiri, 58 headband points, 15 rescue points
3rd place: Hikaru Nokogiri, 65 headband points, 6 rescue points
4rd place: Kami Haruka, 48 headband points, 16 rescue points
5th place: Kurai Taishi, 50 headband points, 10 rescue points
6th place: Bikone Kitsu, 46 headband points, 12 rescue points
7th place: Sora Terubozu, 40 headband points, 14 rescue points
8th place: Minato Nosaka, 52 headband points, 0 rescue points
9th place: Kenji Azuma, 36 headband points, 13 rescue points
10th place: Maneki Kin, 30 headband points, 15 rescue points
After a long pause from the principal to allow him to read the scores, he started talking again. "Congratulations on your spot in this school, and welcome to your hero academia."
