Chapter 53: Heroes' Homecoming
Sasuke's P.O.V.
(1 Week Later)
"Everything is looking fine, Sasuke-Kun. How are you feeling?" Karin asks while she looks lover my chart.
"Fine," I look over to my right where an unconscious Naruto is being examined by Sakura, "How is he?"
"His vitals and everything is normal, but I just can't figure out why he won't wake up," she sighs while flipping through some papers.
"The Nine-Tails said that he's making Naruto rest so their chakra reserves can replenish. I didn't realize how long it would take," I say.
"The Nine-Tails? You can talk to the Nine-Tails?" both woman gasp in shock.
"Anyone who possesses the Sharingan can communicate and control the Nine-Tails. I just wish the furball would have told me that Naruto would be out for so long," I explain while leaning back against the pillows on the bed.
"You two are truly amazing. I'm starting to think I'll never catch up to either of you. I couldn't even help on the frontline when Pain attacked the village. I felt so useless," Sakura sighs again before sitting on the end of Naruto's bed.
"That's not true, Sakura. You were amazing here. Not only did you protect people on the way to the hospital, but you helped heal the wounded when we barely had any Mednin available. And when Lady Tsunade needed us during the operation on Master Jiraiya, you were there every step of the way until she went into her comma. Even now, you've been overseeing the entire operation of the hospital without Lady Tsunade's guidance. Plus, you're physical strength and medical knowledge rivals that of the Slug Queen herself. How can you call yourself useless?" Karin kindly scolds Sakura.
"Karin is right, Sakura. You're strong in your own way. Naruto has the Nine-Tails and I have the Sharingan, but you don't have any of that. You don't come from a unique clan. Everything you've accomplished, you've done because you've worked for it. You may not be where you want to be, but you've definitely come a long way from the little, annoying girl who used to hang all over me and beg for Naruto and me to save her," I chuckle lightly at the memory.
A heavy blush appears on her cheeks as she stares at me in shock, "Sasuke… that's the first time I've ever heard you compliment me… thank you…"
"I can only give credit where credit is due,"
"Well, I appreciate it," she smiles.
"Come on Sakura. How about I treat you to some breakfast. You've been working too hard and seriously need a break. Besides, Lee came by earlier today looking for you," Karin said with a weird smirk on her face. It reminded me of some of the lustful looks Naruto used to give me, but I didn't want to ask.
"Karin!" Sakura yells in embarrassment as she stands up instantly, "We'll be back, Sasuke. Let us know if Naruto wakes up or if you need anything. We promise to bring you back some tomatoes. I remember you used to like them, right?"
"Yeah… thanks,"
I waited until they left before looking over at Naruto and then out the window. It had been a week since Naruto defeated Pain and saved everyone. I let him rest for a little while, but I knew we had to get back to the village. I tried waking him, but he was out of it. Using my Sharingan, I went into his mind and talked with the Nine-Tails. It told me that because they hadn't fully recovered from the merging ritual and the fight with Pain, he needed Naruto to rest for a while for their chakra reserves to recover. I bargained with him to try and keep Naruto up just enough to make it back to the village. That's when I met his Mother Kushina and Father Minato. It was interesting to know that Naruto takes after his mother more than his father in personality. She asked me a thousand and one questions. I wanted to do the same, especially knowing that she and the Fourth Hokage were friends with my family but we didn't have the time. Before I left, I promised them I would take care of Naruto with my life.
After returning to reality, I woke up Naruto enough to got him onto my back and carry him towards the village. "I have to remember to change Naruto's diet when he wakes up too," About halfway there, Kakashi and Iruka met up with us. I gave Naruto for Kakashi to carry. Iruka offered to carry me, but I declined. On the walk back to the village, Kakashi and Iruka said how proud they were of both of us. Naruto was awake for the conversation. Kakashi even said that Naruto was getting heavier too. But he said I was too. I didn't know what he meant. When I asked, Kakashi just simply said that we were growing up too fast and that we would understand later.
When we finally reached the village, the sound of cheers greeted us. Everyone from the village cheered Naruto's name. He climbed off Kakashi's back and stood in shock as people cheered his name and rushed towards him. I smiled as kids tugged on him and asked about the details of the fight. He even started feeling overwhelmed when more people started surrounding him. Sakura eventually made her way to the front. I felt anger rise in me when she punched him and glared at me until she hugged him and cried. She called us both reckless and selfish. I didn't know what to feel. I've been in her position before. Naruto can be one of the bravest, reckless, and selfish people you'll ever meet. He constantly puts himself in danger to save everyone, but I guess I'm no different. Sakura is just more emotional about it than I am, just like Naruto. She cares. She was scared. She was worried. She could have shown it in another way, but I understand what she felt. While this was all going on, I just stood in the background, next to Kakashi and Iruka. We watched Naruto get thrown into the air, cheered, laughed, and finally get the respect he deserved all these years. This was his moment. I was relevant. I may have been on the battlefield woo but Naruto is their hero. To them, I am still a criminal. I am still the man who tried to destroy their home. I am no better than Pain. What Pain said before he killed me was true. I was a monster. Even though I am trying to atone for my sins, it doesn't change what I allowed myself to become. However, at that moment, it wasn't about me, my past, or my sins. It was about Naruto and his heroism. It was about Naruto finally getting everything he deserves. It was about Naruto and nothing else. I turned towards Kakashi and Iruka told them I was ready to go back to my prison cell. Both looked at me in confusion and tried to call me a hero too. I told them I was no hero since heroes didn't sit in prison. Long story short and after a little back and forth, Kakashi managed to convince me to go to the hospital until Lady Tsunade wakes up.
That's how we ended up here and have been staying here for a week. I have never been one to stay in a hospital for too long. They make me uncomfortable since I was a child. I've been ready to leave since the second day. But every time I've asked about leaving, I'm only told that Naruto and I are under orders to remain in the hospital until Lady Tsunade wakes up from her comma. Nothing I can do about orders, but enough is enough.
Feeling frustrated, I lean further back into my hospital bed and rub my hands over my eyes, "At least Naruto is still asleep. He would tear this hospital apart until they released us,"
"I can sense your frustration from here, Sasuke," I look up to see Kakashi sitting on the windowsill with a smile and that famous orange book in his hand, "Yo,"
"What are you doing here?"
"Can't an old man check on his students and technical children. I am like a father to both of you, aren't I?"
"I's say you're overreaching," I respond with a bored expression on my face.
"Oh Sasuke, forever my bright and sunny student. So, no word on Naruto waking up? It's been a week, right?"
"No. The Nine-Tails says that he's making Naruto sleep to replenish their chakra reserves, but didn't say how long,"
"Hn. I see. What about you? How are you feeling? I know hospitals aren't your favorite places to hang out,"
"Then why ask? You should already know I want to leave,"
"Yeah, I've heard you keep bothering Karin and Sakura with being released, despite knowing it's an order. Tell me Sasuke, do you want to be back in a prison cell that back?" he teases.
"No, but I hate hospitals more, especially after the Uchiha Massacre,"
"True, but at least you get to be with Naruto. So, it can't be all that bad,"
I don't say anything. Despite being annoying, the older wolf is right. Having Naruto next to me, even unconscious has made my hospital stay easier. I move my tail to lay in my lap and pick at imaginary lint; a nervous habit I wish I could kick. Suddenly, we hear Naruto stare. In the bed beside me, a tan hand reaches up to touch his forehead while blue eyes slowly open.
"Where am I?"
"How are you feeling?" Kakashi asks.
"Like I got hit with a ton of bricks, but more or less ok," he answers before looking at me, "How are you?"
"Alright, and that's expected since you slept for a week straight," I answer.
"A week! I've been asleep for a week?! How?!"
"The Nine-Tails said he needed to replenish your chakra reserves. Sakura and Karin have been taking care of us,"
"Oh? That's good, I guess," he says with no emotion.
"Do you remember anything?" Kakashi asks.
"Um. I remember defeating Pain. I remember Sasuke carrying me. I remember you and Iruka-sensei meeting us. The village cheering for me, Sakura punching me… that's about it though. Oh, what about Pervy-Sage and Grandma Tsunade? How are they?"
"We're just fine,"
We turn around to see Tsunade and Master Jiraiya entering the doorway, "Pervy-Sage! Grandma Tsunade! You're ok!" Naruto cheers.
"Of course, we are, kid. Well, I'm missing my right arm, but everything else is intact," Master Jiraiya smiles.
"Yeah, thanks to me you're intact. And if any of you ever anymore stunts like this, I'll be the one to rip you apart," she growls making all of us shiver in fear, I just hide it better, "Anyway, how are you two feeling. Naruto it's good to see you finally woke up,"
"Yep! And feeling as powerful as ever!" Naruto smiles while flexing his biceps.
"I can see that. It looks like you gained an eight tail. I'm impressed," Master Jiraiya says while walking over to Naruto. He places his hand on top of Naruto's head with a loving smile, "We're so proud of you, kid. You surpassed both me and your father. I'm just glad I could be alive to see the day,"
I could see tears form in Naruto's eyes as he wraps his arms around his sensei's torso and pulls him closer, "Thank you,"
Everyone gave them a few moments until they finally pull apart and Naruto starts to whip his tears away.
"So, Naruto, did Pain say anything before defeating him?"
"He just told me the story of his past, the origin of the Akatsuki, his friend Nagato, and his vision of a peaceful world. He also told me how he pretty much gave up on their original way of obtaining it and going about the path of pain. I told him I will create a world of peace the three of them wanted and he brought everyone back with his Gedo Art of Rinne Rebirth jutsu. After that, Konan said she was done with the Akatsuki and went to bury her two friends. She's an ally of ours now,"
"That's amazing, Naruto. You truly have a way with people. I figured if anyone could change Pain's heart it would be you," Master Jiraiya says.
"That's interesting. Thank you for the update. I'll need that in a report from you when you get a moment, especially after the ceremony,"
"Ceremony? What ceremony?" I ask.
"While you two were recovering, I have been having every able body shinobi help with the repairs of the village. I have also organized a mini ceremony to honor you two along with a few others. Sasuke, you and your team will be attending the ceremony as well," she explains.
"How long have you been awake? I thought you were in a coma? I was told we weren't allowed to leave until you woke up?" I questioned in irritation.
"I've been awake for a few days, but I wanted to wait until Naruto woke up before releasing you. Besides, dd you want to spend your time in a prison cell instead of next to Naruto?" she giggles to herself.
"I hate these people," I say with my eye twitching.
"Awesome! When is the ceremony?!" Naruto cheered.
"I have been personally overseeing them. Everything was finished yesterday. We were just waiting for you,"
"Alright!"
"Great, I'll let the villagers know their heroes are awake and we will be having the ceremony later today. I'll have Sakura and Karin come by with your release papers and some clothes for you. Naruto, you'll be giving a speech at the ceremony, but you won't have to worry about preparing for it, I just need you to be yourself,"
"WHAT?!"

It didn't take long after Tsunade, Master Jiraiya, and Kakashi left for Sakura and Karin to release and give us our clothes. We made our way to the Hokage tower and are currently waiting in the hallway leading to the rooftop for the others. I keep messing with my outfit. It's a grey, short-sleeve zip-up similar to my other shirt, black shinobi pants, and sandals
"Will you stop picking with your outfit? You look fine," Naruto says as he grabs my hands.
"Shut up. It's my first time wearing something other my old cloths, ok," I said as I push him away.
"So, you look fine. Don't tell me you're feeling self-conscious," he teases.
"At least one of us cares about what he wears,"
"What's wrong with my outfit?" he asks.
I look him up and down before visibly shivering. He's wearing a white, short-sleeve shirt, an orange zip-up hoodie, black shinobi pants, and tall sandals.
"How much time do you have?"
"Shut up," he chuckles as he playfully shoves me.
A little later, Karin, Sakura, Suigetsu, and Jūgo arrive to stand with us. Karin, as usual, hangs onto my arm.
"Sasuke-Kun, aren't you excited! We're being honored!"
"Karin, will you get off Sasuke. Aren't you tired of being rejected by him," Suigetsu groans as he pulls Karin away from me by her foxtail,
"Oh, shut up, jerk! Just wait and see! You're just jealous that no one will love you like I love Sasuke!" she yells.
"That's fine! I wouldn't want a psycho stalker to love me anyway!" he yells back.
"You wanna fight, Shark Boy?!"
"Bring it on, Foxy!"
I smack my hand over my face. Jūgo places a comforting hand on my shoulder, "I've got it,"
"Thanks," I sigh, blowing one of my bangs out of my face.
"Are they always like this?" Sakura asks.
"Unfortunately,"
"I hope we weren't like that," Naruto says.
"Not nearly as bad,"
We try to ignore them as they continue to fight even though Jūgo holds them in each of his arms. After what seems like forever, they calm down right when Tsunade, Master Jiraiya, Kakashi, and Shizune arrive. They nod to us before exiting onto the rooftop. We can hear the crowd cheering below us and chanting Naruto's name. Tsunade raises her hands to quiet them.
"Villagers of the Hidden Leaf! As your Fifth Hokage would like to thank each and every one of you for your bravery during Pain's attack on our village. I know that these are trying times while we repair the damage and try to our daily lives. But rest assured that I am doing everything in my power to make it easier for everyone. I have also reached out to the other nations for assistance. They have gladly offered their assistance by offering supplies and additional help with our rebuild. Let us use this attack as a lesson in strength. We are proud members of the Hidden Leaf! We can always rebuild our village! We will stand strong against our enemies in the upcoming Fourth Shinobi World War! And we will prosper! We are stronger than our enemies make us out to be! We will show them how bright the Will of Fire burns bright within each of us!"
The crowd roars with excitement and cheers before she continues, "This is why I wanted to hold this ceremony. There are a few who the Will of Fire burned brighter during Pain's attack and I wanted all of us to honor them. Please hold your applause until the end. When I call your name, please come up and be recognized,"
We watch as Shizune approaches Tsunade with a wooden box with the Leaf symbol on top of it. Tsunade turns towards us with smiles before calling our names.
"I would like to congratulate Jūgo and Suigetsu for their heroic efforts, not only during the attack but their involvement with recon up to this point so far. They will continue to serve the Hidden Leaf as its shinobi," she reaches into the wooden box and pulls out two headbands before handing them out. Jūgo and Suigetsu take them with a respectful bow before rerunning to our side. Then she calls Karin, "Karin has been an amazing addition to our research and Mednin operations. I look forward to seeing more success from her," Tsunade smiles as she hands the headband to her. Tsunade calls Sakura next, "The next person I recognize is my own student. Sakura Haruno oversaw the care of many of our wounded villagers and while I was not in active command. She has all the makings of a true Medical Sanin if I ever saw one," Sakura stood in front of everyone and waved before returning beside us. I felt my blood rush as she stared at me next. I knew it was my turn, "The next person I would like to recognize may not be someone who most of you would agree with me. However, none of you know what he has done for our village. Sasuke Uchiha, although once an enemy of the Hidden Leaf has vowed to protect it with his life. He has saved our hero Naruto Uzumaki on several occasions and even sacrificed himself to save our village. He has also been a great ally in diminishing our enemy's ranks to turn the tides in our favor. Because of his efforts, I would like to welcome him back to the village,"
My footsteps feel heavy as I walk towards the end of the rooftop and look down. I can see some of the people look at me with acceptance, some with admiration, some with fear, some with worry, and some with anger. Seeing the mixture of emotions in the crowd makes the uneasiness in my stomachache more, but I try to push it down to offer a small wave before returning to my original position.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Tsunade says as she holds out the headband.
Seeing the new Hidden Leaf headband being offered to me brought me back to the first time I received one. Never in all the years of my short life did I ever think would I receive another one. With shaky hands, I took the headband and held it tight in my hands until my knocks turned white.
"Now, the final person I would like to honor is the one we can all agree on is a hero to us all. Please, help me the honor and welcome, our hero, my successor, and future Hokage: Naruto Uzumaki!"
The crowd below us jumped and roared with cheers and shouts. Naruto on the other hand is frozen with shock. I tap his shoulder to get him moving, "You gonna keep them waiting, Hokage Naruto,"
He visibly swallows a lump in his throat before walking towards the front of the rooftop. With shaky hands, Naruto raises them high and silences the crowd.
"Thank you, everyone. I appreciate everything you guys have done and said about me, but I'm no hero. I only did what any shinobi vowed to do. The moment I put my headband on at the Academy Graduation, I vowed to protect this village and my friends. I am just glad to see that all of you are safe and we can continue to fight and live together. I am also honored and humbly accept the title of Grandma Tsunade's successor for the next Hokage. But I will also promise you all this, no matter who or what we face in the Fourth Shinobi World War, we will win! We will be victorious! We are the Hidden Leaf and we will not back down!"
Everyone cheers at his words as he pumps his fists in the air. Tsunade approaches him and places a hand on his shoulder, "Nice job brat. I guess you'll make a great leader after all,"
"Thanks, but next time, could you at least give me some context for my speech instead of surprising me like that?"
"Nope, now take Sasuke back to my office while I finish up here,"
I smile as he approaches me, "Good job, Future Hokage,"
"Thanks. Come on. Grandma says she wants you and me in her office," he says as we turn to leave the rooftop.
"Good. I can't wait to get away from here,"
"Well, you better get used to standing up here. Because when I become Hokage, you'll be standing right next to me,"

After Tsunade finished the ceremony, Master Jiraiya, Shizune, Kakashi, and she meet us in the office to go over my new probation regulations.
"I still think this is complete bullshit but whatever, what do I know," Naruto says in irritation with his hands behind his head.
"Well I didn't so shut your mouth before I dismiss you, brat," Tsunade says while shuffling some papers in her hands, "Alright Sasuke Uchiha, as you know, our original agreement still stands. However, as I have said before, you and your team have shown that you can be trusted somewhat. With that being said, I decided to lighten your probation regulations. Starting today, you will no longer be confined to a prison cell. You are free to roam the village's streets. However, you will not be alone, you must agree to an ANBU tailing you during your outing's solo outings. Any other times, you must either be escorted by either Naruto or someone in this room. If you can agree to these terms and continue with your promise to fight with us in the Fourth Shinobi World War, then you will be completely pardoned. Do we have a deal?"
I am shocked to hear how lenient she is being with me. Naruto nudges me in the side with his elbow, "Looks like someone's been a good boy, eh Sasuke?" he chuckles.
I nudge him away before bowing in respect, "Thank you, Tsunade. I appreciate the leniency,"
"Are we done yet? I would like to get back to my bed sometime today," Naruto yawns while throwing his arms into the air.
"I was just getting to that part. I'm sorry to say this, but both of your old homes have been destroyed. I had a team work together to build a new apartment for the two of you. This is also apart of Sasuke's new regulations. Since you're one of the people that Sasuke can be around with and without an ANBU tailing him, I figured it would be easier to commission a new home for the both of you. And since it's been a long time, I figured neither of you wouldn't mind," she winks.
Naruto turns away with a bright blush on his face while I give a fake cough to hide mine, "But what about our stuff? I had plants and some ramen! Were they not saved?!"
"I'm not sure, Naruto. You guys are more than welcomed to go through the rubble to salvage anything you can tomorrow. You both will also be helping with rebuilding the village when you're not helping with the Akatsuki missions,"
"Awe man! When am I going to get some time to rest?" Naruto whined.
"You'll just have to figure it out on your Hokage-in-Training breaks," she chuckles while leaning back in her chair.
"Oh, man. You're going to kill me before I can even become Hokage,"
Everyone laughs at Naruto's comment. Suddenly we hear a knock on the door, "Come in," Tsunade says. A female hawk ANBU shinobi enters the room and bows, "Ah right on time. Naruto, Sasuke, Hawk will be escorting your new home. I hope everything is to your liking,"
"Alright! I'm ready to lay down! Come on, Sasuke. Bed, here I come!"
We turn around to leave but stop when Tsunade calls for me to stop, "Sasuke, stay here for a minute. We want to talk to you,"
"Huh? What do you want now?" Naruto asks, feeling uneasy.
"We just wanted to talk to Sasuke about something personal. Go wait downstairs, he'll be down in a minute,"
Naruto stares at her warily before looking at me. I sigh before pushing him towards the door, "I promise I'll be down soon. Wait for me by the entrance," Despite me pushing him towards the door, Naruto was still hesitant, "I'll be fine. I promise,"
He sighs before shoving his hands in his pockets and turning with his back towards us, but not before releasing a small amount of threatening Alpha aura and using one of his eight tails to close the door.
"I swear that boy acts like we're going to kills you," Tsunade tsks as she pours herself a cup of sake.
"Well, considering that was the case a little while ago, I don't blame him. But you know how he can get," I say before turning towards them and leaning against the door with my arms crossing over my chest, "So, what do you want?"
"We wanted to talk to you about Naruto,"
"What about Naruto?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"We just want to make sure that he's making the right decision with you," she says bluntly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I growl, barring my fangs.
"What Tsunade is trying to say is that we know he loves you to the point he'd die for you and vice versa. However, we also know that you both mated early in your lives. We just want to make sure that this is something you both are sure about," Master Jiraiya explains.
"I don't even want to respond to this. I'm leaving," I turn to grab the doorknob but stop when Kakashi speaks.
"Sasuke, are you done with your plan for vengeance? Can you honestly tell us that Naruto is your new future? You're a beta, aren't you? Are you ok with not being able to give him children? Even though Lady Tsunade and some of the villagers welcome you back into the village, can you accept that you still have people who hate you for your past? Can you live with the hearts and lives of the people you've broken? Can you see yourself living in the Hidden Leaf for the rest of your life? If asked, can you lay down your sword and live a normal life? These are all things to consider if you are to be Naruto's mate. He's going to be Hokage, so there are going to being expectations for both him and you as his mate. Your role is going to be just as important as his. We just want to know if you're serious about standing by him no matter what is asked of you,"
I look down at my white knuckles as my hand still grips the doorknob. I'm not angry that they're asking me these questions How can I be? Hell, it wasn't that long ago I carried Naruto all the way back here after almost killing him. If I were them, I would be questioning me too. In fact, I sometimes ask myself that too. What are Naruto and I doing? Are we just playing house? Naruto not only wants to be mates, but he wants marriage, and kids; something I can't give him… yet… I may be atoning for the sins I have committed but I still so much I need to atone for with him. How long will I keep hurting him? How much will I keep hiding from him? When will I ever stop running from myself?
With a deep sigh, I finally let go of the doorknob and turn to face them, "I… can understand how you guys feel and why you guys would ask me those questions. Hell, there are sometimes I don't know the answers to all those questions myself. But I can say this one thing because it's all I know. I do know that I love him. I love him to the point I would die for him. I would do anything to protect him. I would lay down my life in an instant without a single thought. I will always be there to take care of him. And, I will do whatever I have to for him. I can't promise that I won't hurt him, but I can promise that I'll always be there to heal him however he needs me. That's the same promise I gave to Kurama, Kushina Uzumaki, and the Fourth Hokage: Minato Namikaze, and that's the same promise I'm giving to you,"
"You talked to Kushina and Minato?! But how?!" Jiraiya and Tsunade gasps.
"They left some of their chakras inside of Naruto the night they passed. Anytime Naruto needs them, he can call on them in the recesses of his mind, but I guess it could only be activated when he entered the Eight-Tails Mood and during their merging ritual. I met them when I entered his mind with my Sharingan. They wanted to know my intentions with their son and made me promise to take care of their son. So, as I said, the same promise, I gave to them is the same promise I'm giving to you,"
The room is silent for a moment before they all nod in unison, "I guess that's good enough for us then. Now get out of here. Your alpha is waiting for you," Tsunade says as she dismisses me with her hand.
I turn to exit the room and meet Naruto and the Hawk ANBU at the entrance of the Hokage Tower. When he says to me, Naruto immediately grabs my shoulders and starts examining me, "Are you alright? What did they do you?"
"Nothing,"
"Nothing? Then why were you up there for so long?" he asks in disbelief.
"We were just talking, dobe. Nothing more. Now come on. I'm exhausted,"

The Hawk ANBU led us to our new apartment. It is a nice, spacious place with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a single full bathroom, and a balcony. It's nothing extravagant, but it's simple enough for a temporary home for us.
"Well you can tell this room is mine," Naruto says coming out of one room. Inside of the room, the walls are white, and the carpet is brown, but the bedsheets and curtains are orange with the Uzumaki clan symbol on them, "And this one must be yours," In the other room, the walls are white, the carpet is blood red, but the sheets and curtains are navy blue with the Uchiha Fan on them, "Man, whoever designed our rooms knew us personally I guess," he chuckles before looking around the rest of the apartment. After a little while, we both sit on the living room couch with our heads leaning back, "So, what do you think? You like it? I know it's not home, but it's something,"
"Honestly, I'm just happy that it's not a prison cell or a hospital room, so I have no complaints,"
"True, and we can be alone and together. It's been a while, yeah?"
I look over to see him looking at me like a predator looks at its prey before devouring it. I take a deep breath and can practically smell his sexual desire. Interested to see what he's going to do, I roll my head to the side, offering my neck and showing our faded mating mark. He crawls over towards me and climbs on top, his strong thighs and large hands pinning me to the couch. His piercing ocean blue eyes darken with lust as his semi-erection presses into mine.
"It has been a long time,"
One of his clawed hands reaches up and grabs my chin and positions my head so that we're staring into each other's eyes. I lick my lips. He bites his. Suddenly, my hands reach up to grip his god-awful orange hoodie and pull him forward. Our lips collide in a hungry, fierce kiss. One hand is in my hair while the other is traveling to my shirt's zipper. I bite on his bottom lip and suck on it, making him moan. He sticks his tongue in my mouth and I suck on that too. His hand on my zipped forces it down until my chest is exposed and starts playing with my nipples. I start moaning. I feel his erection getting harder against mine.
"Fuck…" he whispers against my lips.
He moves us so that I'm laying on my back and he's straddling me. I force his hoodie off and throw it off somewhere. I don't care. He goes back to letting one hand playing with my nipples while the other plays in my hair. But this time he pulls my hair so that my neck is exposed. I moan when his fangs sink into my neck. He sucks and laps at the bite while I moan into his furry ears. My hands grip his slightly longer hair, practically ripping blond strands out of his skull.
"Fuck I miss you…" he whispers while staring into my eyes.
"I miss you too, but we should stop," I warn.
"Why?" he asks confused before sitting up and releasing some of his Sage sensing chakras. After a little bit, he smacks his face and I chuckle when his erection starts to deflate, "Life isn't fair,"
"I know. Now get off me so I can fix myself before answering the door,"
Naruto lets me up before falling onto the couch with a loud groan. I chuckle at him while fixing myself.
"I'll have to make it up to him later,"
Soon there's a knock at the door. After making sure I looked alright, I answer the door. The Konoha 11 and Sai greets me with smiles and confetti booms.
"Surprise you two!" they all yell.
"Thanks…?" I say in confusion.
They look inside to see a depressed Naruto still laying on the couch, "What's wrong with him?" Ino asks.
"He's just tired. So, what brings you guys here?"
"We wanted to invite you guys out for Ichiraku Ramen and drinks to celebrate!" Kiba cheered.
"Drinks? But we're not old enough to drink yet?" Naruto says as he sits up.
"No, but Lady Tsunade made a temporary exception for us because of our victory. Plus, it's a "Thank you" for helping out with setting up your apartment," Shikamaru explained.
"You guys helped build our apartment? Gee thanks guys," Naruto smiles as he walks towards the door, "What do you Say Sasuke? Feel like going out with our friends tonight?"
"I'm ok. Why don't you guys go ahead without me," I say.
"Oh, come on Sasuke, don't be a spoilsport. It's your first night being a free man! Come celebrate with us!" Kiba encourages.
"Yeah, Sasuke. Plus, it's the least we could do to say thank you for them helping us out," Naruto adds.
"Fine, but you better not get too drunk, dobe. I'm tired of carrying you home,"

The night out with the Konoha 11and Sai went very well. I had a lot of fun. I felt awkward at first because they reminisced about events from Naruto's return home. But then I started talking to Shikamaru, Neji, and Shino and found that we had more in common than I thought. Most of it was laughing at and teasing Naruto, Lee, and Kiba. Sakura hasn't changed too much. She still beats up on Naruto, which I'm not a fan of but sometimes when he opens his mouth, I warn him about saying certain things, especially after we started drinking. Some of them got pretty drunk. Kiba and Lee challenged Naruto to a sake drinking contest after Naruto lost to Hinata to a ramen eating contest. By the end of the night, most of the gang had to be carried home, including Naruto. That's what I'm doing now, trying to put the keys to our apartment in the door while carrying my heavy alpha on my back.
"S'uke, you're doing it wrong,"
"You're drunk, shut up,"
"Are you mad at me?"
"No, but I told you not to get drunk, dobe,"
"But sake it's not my fault,"
"Then who's fault is it?"
"Lee and Kiba's," he answers.
"So, Lee and Kiba poured 10 cups of sake down your throat?" I ask while pushing the door open with my foot before using my tail to close it.
"Yes," he laughs.
"Idiot. If you weren't so drunk, I'd kick your ass," I got him into his room and practically throw him on the bed, "God you're heavy. That's it. No more saying, you're going on a diet,"
"Nooooooooooo. S'uke, no diet!"
"Shut up, you're giving me a headache,"
"Hey S'uke, come here," he says while waving his hand towards me.
I walk over to him and kneel beside the bed, "What?"
"Kiss me," he says while smacking his lips towards me.
I glare at him before shoving, "Goodnight Naruto,"
"You're so mean, S'uke. Why you no love me,"
"I do love you,"
"No, you don't,"
"Yes I do," I say as I try to tuck the struggling man into bed, "Hold still. God, you're like a baby,"
"You're my baby," he laughs.
"Never again," Finally, I tuck him under the covers after getting his shoes, pants, and hoodie off, "Now stay here. I'm going to go shower,"
"Ok!"
I put a trashcan by the bed in case he must throw up before heading the bathroom. I quickly shower before returning to the bedroom. I smack my face when I realize that his bed is only big enough for him. Not wanting to deal with until the morning, I slide in and get as comfortable as I can in a small bed with a 6"0 male with eight tails all over the place. Just fucking great. Suddenly, I feel Naruto roll onto his side and pull me in closer. His hot, sake breath on the back of my neck.
"I love S'uke,"
Sighing with a smirk on my face, I get as comfortable as I can and start to drift off to sleep.
"I may not be able to give Naruto everything he wants right now, but I can help him create the world of peace that he and Itachi can be proud of, especially if it's filled with moments like this," Snuggling closer into Naruto and letting his comforting scent of cinnamon, vanilla, ramen, and sake fill my senses, I finally drift off to a comfortable sleep. One I haven't had in years,
"It's good to be home,"
