Author's Note:
Hey everyone, we're back with another chapter! I would like to thank you guys for staying with me for this long and look forward to riding this through until the end. I'm also happy to finally bust out this chapter. I really struggled with writing it. I was recently on vacation in Florida for two weeks and was shocked that I cranked out the last two chapters when I wasn't excepting to do any. However, since I've been back, I've been having some serious writer's block. I just hope this isn't a spell I'm going through instead of just a few days. Anyway, wish me luck guys and I hope you enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 58: Losing Control
Sasuke's P.O.V.
"Hey teme, you ready?" I hear Naruto call from the living room.
"Yeah, here I come,"
I finish getting dress before meeting him in the living room. He greets me with a bright smile. We put on our sandals and leave for the Hokage Tower. Things have been a little awkward after my abortion confession, but we're working through it. Sometimes, when I catch Naruto holding the ultrasound picture close, I can physically feel my heartbreak. Often, I regret telling him because of the painful looks he displays. But, when he holds me close and whisper "thank you", I feel relieved. Either way, I just hope this doesn't hinder us too much. Not once has Naruto brought up us having children, and it scares me,
Before the confession, it was one of his favorite topics. But now, it seems he doesn't know what to say or how to talk to me. I asked him about it but all he says is that he is trying to be sensitive to me and my mental wellbeing. This, of course, has led to arguments where both of us feel guilty. It's like, we're constantly walking on eggshells around each other. Even though we're working on it and things have gotten somewhat better, I still worry about him than myself. I've had three years to get over my mistake. He's only had a month.
"Sasuke? Hey Sasuke,"
"Huh?" I look up to see a worried Naruto looking down at me, "What's up?"
"Everything alright? You seem… out of it,"
"Yeah. I was just… thinking. But I'm fine,"
We stop walking and stand in the middle of the street, "You know you can always talk to me, right? I know that things have been awkward since… well, you know. But that doesn't change how I feel about or view you,"
"I know. And the same goes for me. We're working on it, so that's all that matters. I promise I'll be ok. Alright?"
"Alright," he smiles while lacing his fingers behind his head.
"So, do you know why Lady Tsunade wants to have a meeting with us?"
"Most likely the Akatsuki. She hasn't mentioned anything to me, only to bring you with me today. I remember seeing some paperwork about their movements but couldn't make heads or tails of it. Knowing her, she was gathering all the pieces before talking to us,"
"Hn. I just hope she lets us get back in the field. I'm starting to get cabin fever," I chuckle as we approach the Tower.
…
…
…
"Ah Naruto, Sasuke, please join us. We were waiting on you," she smiles from behind her desk.
We enter the room where Master Jiraiya, Anko, Captain Yamato, and Kakashi are present.
"Great, we're all here. Let's get started. Anko and Suigetsu has discovered some interesting information concerning the Akatsuki. Would you care to share, Anko?" Lady Tsunade says.
"First, we have gathered that Naruto and Sasuke did an amazing job dwindling their ranks. As far as we can tell only Madara and Obito are left. Although this is all, that doesn't mean that we can relax. They have the power to back themselves. However, we gathered some intel about their movements. It seems they have a plan to take on all the nations by themselves,"
"Are you serious? How the hell do they plan on doing that?" Naruto gasps.
"That, we're not too sure. According to our findings~"
Anko and everyone else's voices are suddenly being drowned out. A sharp pain shoots through my head as my vision blurs.
"What's happening?" I groan as I try to focus.
When I hold my head and try to will my vision to correct itself.
"Damn, something's wrong,"
"Sasuke, you alright?" I hear Lady Tsunade call.
I look through my blurry vision, somewhat able to make them out but not quite.
"Yeah, I just need to use the restroom. Excuse me," I leave the room and make my way to the restroom.
I hug the way the entire way, not trusting my fading vision to guide me. Finally, I make it to the men's restroom and grab onto the nearest sink. I turn the knob to turn on the water. The sound of the water increases my headache. I feel nauseous. My hands clam up and sweat as I try to tighten my hold on the edge of the sink. I feel incredibly sick to the point of forcing myself to sit against the wall.
"In and out. Breathe. In and out. Damnit Sasuke, pull yourself together,"
After a few more breaths, my heart slows down, and my headache lessens somewhat. Using the sink, I force myself onto my feet. With my sweaty hands on the sink, I stand as straight as possible, not knowing if I'm going to fall or not. When I feel steady enough, I use my hands to wash my face. Looking up, I stare into the mirror, vision still a little blurry but I can start to see my face. As I wait for my vision to correct itself, I start to think about what caused my vision to fade.
"I haven't been using my Mangekyō Sharingan since the fight with Pain, so why is it this bad now. I've also been taking my medicine, so… Damnit! I didn't take my medicine today. I need to hurry and get home!"
Still using the sink to guide me, I head towards the door but stop when I feel Naruto enter the restroom, "Alright Sasuke, what's going on with you," he sighs in frustration.
Straightening myself while trying not to lean on my right hand, I try to sound normal, "I don't know what you're talking about,"
"Bullshit. You've been acting strange all day. First, you're lost in thought almost the whole way here. Then, you leave at the beginning of the meeting for the restroom for like ever. Come on, Sasuke. Why can't you just talk to me?"
"I didn't realize that I need your permission to go the bathroom or think," I say while biting my bottom lip.
"Sasuke~"
"Naruto, I don't know how many times I have to say this, but I'm fine. I just… feel a little sick… I'm going to go home and lay down for a bit. You can catch me up when you come home, ok?"
I close my eyes as I try to walk past him. His hand grips my shoulder and stops me from moving, "I wish… you'd trust me… like I trust you…" he whispers.
I shrug his hand off and head towards the door, "I do trust you, Naruto. If I didn't, you would have lost both me and your hand,"
With that, I leave him in the restroom as I make my way out of the Tower.
…
…
…
The more I walk through the village, the more my vision starts to fade. Soon, all I can see are blurred visions of everyone. The pain in my head grows the more my vision fades. The nauseous feeling returns, and I feel like I want to pass out. But I force myself to keep walking, using my nose as my guide. However, something goes wrong, and I make a wrong turn into an ally.
"Damn, how did I end up here? My senses must be dulling from this. Fuck,"
"Well, look what where the kitty dragged himself to," I hear an unrecognizable voice say from behind.
Trying to sound brave, I turn around and force myself to stand as tall as I can. I use my nose to sniff them out. I can smell three boars in the ally with me, "Do you know who I am?"
"The Great Sasuke Uchiha, right?" another voice answers.
"Traitor to the Leaf Village and the Fire Nation. Yeah, we know who your ass is. That's why we came to beat it," another voice chuckles as they come closer to me.
Through my blurry vision, I can make out three dark figures. I can't see all their features, but I know enough to fight back, "How cowardly,"
"What did you say?"
"The three of you Nobodies knew you couldn't take me in a one on one fight, so you decided to gang up on me. A true testament of your "strength"," I chuckle.
"How dare you insult us?!"
"Lady Tsunade is crazy to think that you can be trusted again,"
"But don't worry, we'll put you out of your misery and get honored by Lady Fifth,"
Since I can't rely on my vision to help me, I decide to use my nose and hearing. They may be a little dulled from the effects of my Mangekyō Sharingan, but I could take them blindfolded on a normal day.
"I'd like to see you three idiots try it,"
They rush towards me. I can hear every footstep and their anxious scents. I would prefer not to fight, especially in my condition. But, if I can just knock them out, then I can escape to the apartment. I dodge the first fist before throwing my own. I feel it connect with the guy's cheek and he stumbles. On both my sides, the other two try to attack. I squat down, making them collide with each other, before tripping one of them. I keep fighting like this as long as they keep attacking.
The more we fight, the more anxious they get. I try not to use any jutsus, fearing they can't handle it. They try to use some on me, but they were weak and easy to dodge. I punch on of them in the stomach before spinning around and roundhouse kicking the other two. At random points of the fight, my vision corrects itself enough for me to see them before fading again. Suddenly, a wave of pain and nausea hits me, and I fall on my hands and knees. I hear them chuckle as they approach me again.
"Look at that boys, the kitty fell," one teases.
"Awe, what's the matter little Uchiha-kitty? Can't take anymore?"
"Let's finish him off, boys,"
I sense them coming towards me as I curse myself, "Damnit, Sasuke! Move already, damnit!"
I feel a foot hit me in the stomach, making me throw up my breakfast. Another attack connects on my back while I feel a kick on my side. I try to reach one of their legs, but one of them grabs my arm, forcing it behind me, and steps on my back. The other two pull on my sensitive tail and ears.
"Come on, Uchiha-kitty. Fight us back,"
"Yeah, it's no fun if you can't fight us back,"
"Let's just finish this piece of shit off and be done with it,"
Suddenly, the sound of a kunai being removed from its pouch fills my senses. With my anxiety spiking, I try to think of an escape plan.
"My strength is too great for them. I can't hurt them as I want, but I can't let them kill me either. If only I can just getaway…"
As the one holding the kunai approaches, my vision suddenly returns. Thinking quickly, I use my free hand to reach for my own kunai. Using the kunai to stab one of them in the foot. This gets one of them from me enough for me to overpower the other two. I use my legs to free myself of the one holding my ears and tail before kicking the last boar away from me.
"You guys wanted to fight me? Then allow me to show you how I became an S-ranked missing-nin,"
I activate my Mangekyō Sharingan long enough to put them in a genjutsu. Once they're all under the genjutsu, I deactivate my Sharingan and make my escape and manage to find my way home.
Surprisingly, my vision doesn't fade again until after I get home. I end up stumbling into almost everything as I go through our apartment. Unlike on my way here, I can't use my nose to navigate my way through the apartment. Trying to remember the apartment's layout, I almost make it to the bathroom but end up tripping over something and fall to the ground.
"Damnit. I need to get to my medicine,"
"Sasuke?! Sasuke, where are you?!" I hear Naruto call from behind me, "Sasuke, are you alright? Here, let me help you up,"
He helps me stand and guides me to sit on our bed, "Medicine, in the bathroom cabinet. Can you please bring it to me?"
I see his blurry, blond head nod before he leaves. I wait for a few moments, willing my vision to correct itself again but nothing happens. Soon, he returns with my medicine and stands before me. I reach out to grab it, but he pulls it away from me.
"What are you doing?! Give me my medicine!"
"Not until you tell me what's going on with you!"
"I already told you that nothing is wrong!" I yell at him but remain on the bed.
"Stop lying to me, Sasuke!"
"Look Naruto, even if something is wrong with me, it's none of your fucking business!"
"The hell it isn't! You've been acting strange all day and then I suddenly feel you getting anxious and stressed?! I've had enough of you not confiding in me. I agreed to give you some space, but you can't keep playing with your health, Sasuke! Now, tell me what's going on right now!"
I tsk at him while turning away from him, "You're always so difficult,"
"Look who's talking,"
I sigh while rubbing my hand throw my raven hair, "Fine. You want to know what's going on with me? My vision is fading. I don't know how or why, but it is. I have been having issues all day to the point I can barely see,"
"Why didn't you tell me," his voice lowers to about a whisper.
"Because you're always worrying about me. We've been walking on eggshells since we talked about abortion. I didn't want to keep stressing you out. And I thought I could handle it. All I need is my medicine and I should be fine. Now, could you please give it to me?"
After a few moments, Naruto opens the bottle before handing me a pill. I use my spit to swallow the pill, grimacing at the nasty taste.
"How are you feeling?"
"Nauseous and I have a headache. I need to lay down,"
"I'll bring you some water,"
I hear him leave before laying on the bed. Soon, he returns with a glass of water. I take it and drink enough until the pill's nasty taste leaves my mouth.
"Thank you," He places the glass on the nightstand before sitting beside me. He tries to reach for my ears, but I flinch away from him, "Don't. They're really sensitive right now,"
"From what?" he asks. I bit my lip without answering, "Sasuke," he growls warningly.
"I… was ambushed… on my way home…"
"What?! Is that why you were anxious and stressed earlier?! Why didn't you call me?! I could have protected you!"
"Because I'm tired of you always thinking that you have to protect me!"
"I'm your alpha!"
"And I'm not weak!" I yell back, looking at him with a clear vision. Seeing how upset he is, I sigh as I get into a sitting position, "I know that, as my alpha, you feel the need to protect me. But ever since I told you about being an omega, it seems that you've become even more overprotective. You barely talk to me without feeling anxious and us arguing. I don't want that. You know I'm just as strong as you. I can protect myself when need be. I know you can protect me too. But smothering me like Mother Hen isn't going to help any of this,"
"Is that why you fought them? To prove you could fight by yourself?"
"Of course not. Like I said, I was ambushed. They were three insignificant boars who thought they were tough. I knew I could take them blindfolded at full strength. I didn't want to fight them. That's why I only used taijutsu on them. But then my vision was failing me. They got me in a position where I had no choice. At the last moment, my vision completely returned, and I trapped them in a genjutsu to escape and make it back here,"
"You activated your Sharingan even though your vision was fading. Sasuke that was stupid and reckless,"
"Hn. Never thought I would hear you say that to me," I chuckle.
"Yeah well, those are two words I never thought I would use for you either. How's your vision now?"
"It's returning. I can almost see you completely,"
"Does this happen often?"
"No, not since I overused it before coming back here. That's why I take that medicine daily. It's to help prevent it, but it's not guaranteed nor a cure,"
"Why don't you stop using it?"
"I can't just use one of my most powerful abilities. Plus, it's a curse that comes with using the Sharingan. I have heard of other family members going blind from using it, even moderately. I just haven't heard of a cure,"
"Hn. Well, why don't we look for one? I'm sure with Grandma Tsunade's help, we can come up with a way to stop the damage from being so bad. Don't want my mate going blind on me," he smiles.
His bright smile warms me. I return it with a small smile of my own as we stare at each other. For the first time in weeks, the air around us doesn't feel so awkward.
"No matter how many walls I surround myself with, Naruto keeps knocking them down like a wrecking ball. He truly is a great alpha and mate,"
"Yeah. We can try that,"
