It was a cool November afternoon with a light breeze blowing through the trees as they gently rustled.

This was just a regular day for most students, there were no exams or anything coming up so students mainly enjoyed how the weather was and all the easy homework recently.

But to one student, this wasn't just a normal day. If anything this day has been both bad and good so far.

To say the very least, Kyouka Jirou was worried as hell and doing her best not to think of anything irrational at the moment.

She was currently sitting right by a river as she looked at the calm water before throwing a pebble in it.

All she could think about was what happened earlier in class concerning a certain asshole she knew.

Flashback

The lunch bell rang as it did every day before the students started to get out of their seats.

However, a boy with ash blonde hair went up to the quirkless boy who was already standing up before putting his hand on the boy's shoulder. "What the hell did you do today, Deku?"

Today Bakugo sounded more pissed than usual which caused the purple haired girl to walk up to him. "Hey cut it out Bakugo, he hasn't done anything today."

She did her best to hide the anger in her voice, but of course, a good amount of it was slipping out. "How many times do I have to tell you to fuck off ear girl?! Now again, what did you do today, Deku?"

"I-I don't know what you're talking about, Kacchan.I- I've done nothing at all today." The young boy tried to defend himself as he felt scared as usual.

"Don't act stupid, Deku! Don't act like you didn't give me one of your pencils when I broke mine earlier!" He accused the green haired boy as he pushed him a little.

'That's why he's mad? Just because Izuku Helped him out?.' Kyouka thought to herself as she clenched her fists, resting punching his face right now.

"C-Come on, Kacchan, I don't know what you're talking about." The aspiring hero said, doing his best to lie.

"Stop playing stupid with me Deku! I know you're the only one who would even do something like that! Why can't you remember I don't need your stupid help?!" The red eyed boy yelled out as his hands started to smoke.

Suddenly Izuku gripped Bakugo's arm, feeling a surge of confidence grow within him. "Kacchan...Please, I did not give you a pencil."

His admirer smiled widely at this act as she watched closely. 'That's right, Izuku. Show that son of a bitch who's boss.'

But that confidence was quickly shot down as Bakugo grabbed the pencil that was given to him and blew it up to pieces. "You were saying?"

Izuku's eyes widened in fear as he saw that pencil and imagined it being his entire body as he let go of his bully's arm. "I-I meant that I gave you the pencil Kacchan, I'm sorry!"

"That's what I thought Deku, now you better think twice before deciding to help me again!" He then threw the boy against the wall, causing a painful grunt to come from him. "Also remember to stop trying to be something you're not, brave."

He then left for lunch with his lackeys before the purple haired girl went to Izuku to check on him. "Midoriya are you okay? You didn't get hurt bad did you?"

The green haired boy sighed and shook his head. "No, I didn't...I shouldn't have tried fighting back and should've just told the truth huh?"

The young girl shook her head and gave him a small smile. "No that was amazing, I've never seen you do anything so brave before. It was kind of like watching a hero stand up to a big bad villain. It was pretty badass if I say so myself."

'He might as well be a villain with how he treats Izuku, I can't believe he got pissed off just because he was given a new pencil.' She thought to herself in anger as she did her best to calm down.

Izuku couldn't help, but give a small laugh at what she said. "Thank you for that, I needed to hear that today Jirou."

Her smile widened a little at the fact that she brought at least some happiness to her hero as she grabbed her backpack. "Well a hero like you needs to eat lunch in order to keep up his energy so let's go."

"Yeah, I'm right behind you." The green haired boy said as he rubbed his shoulders a little before following his friend out the class to have lunch, not realizing the thoughts that she was having.

'Why couldn't I have done more to help him back there? It's the same thing every time, Bakugo threatens Izuku and all I do is say something before Izuku continues getting bullied. I feel so useless not actively doing anything.'

Throughout the 7 months that these two have known each other, Izuku has slowly but surely been getting more confident. He definitely stopped talking down on himself when it came to his intelligence and would feel more confident about test scores instead of second guessing himself, thinking he failed like he used to.

Also, he didn't have as many shy reactions when she would appear behind him out of nowhere. She couldn't deny that she wished that went on for a little longer, but if this meant he was gaining a little more confidence then it was worth it. Of course, once in a while, he would still have those classic reactions of his, but they were still pretty rare.

Even though he wasn't exactly at the level of confidence she would want him at, she knew that it would only grow with time and eventually he would be able to fully stand up for himself like she wants him to. But for now, she knew she had to at least help him out a little bit.

That's when she decided to finally do something to finally get back at Bakugo after all this time. Her ideal way would've been to jam her earphone jacks into his ears to test the limits of the power of her heartbeat.

However, she would certainly get expelled for such an action and Izuku would hate her for doing something like that.

Even though she hates him with everything she stands for, she can't go around killing the guy. She wants to be a hero after all and that's not what they do.

She then grabbed a small stone and gave it a couple of skips across the river. 'He really has rubbed off on me so much, but I can't say I can complain. I have no regrets wanting to be a hero because of him.'

But just because she wanted to be a hero, it didn't mean she couldn't do anything at all. Hero's can still be a little mischievous to people who deserve it right?

That's what brought her to the plan she came up with at lunch to finally get back at him. But one thing she didn't expect was the reaction Izuku had to it when class ended.

Flashback

It was now nearing the end of the school day and Kyouka decided that now would finally be a good time to enact her plan.

This would easily be one of the most satisfying moments of her life and she had no doubt that she would be proud of her next actions.

No longer would Bakugo go unpunished for all he's done to Izuku these past 5 years or more. Of course, he deserves so much more than what she's going to do, but this was certainly a good start.

She peeked at Bakugo and saw both of his elbows propped up on his desk, probably bored from the teacher's lecture. 'Perfect position. Now is anyone watching?'

She looked around to make sure the coast was clear and saw everyone in the back of the class with her were either using their phones or paying attention to the teacher.

She internally smirked at this situation, seeing that now was the time to act.

Now one of her earphone jacks started to slowly lower onto the floor before slithering its way forward, imitating a snake preparing to attack its prey.

Soon the earphone jack was under Bakugo's desk before it slowly raised up and gently plugged itself into his desk.

'Now!' She then started to channel her heartbeat into the desk which caused it to vibrate before breaking into pieces, causing Bakugo to fall forward with the weight he was putting on the desk.

She quickly retracted her earphone jack as everyone started to immediately laugh at him except for the teacher and one other student.

"Oh, that's amazing!"

"Bakugo really loves breaking stuff, huh?!"

"There's such a thing as too much pressure on the desk, you know!"

Bakugo then got up and explosions were coming out of his hand as he looked at everyone. "Shut up all of you! Who the hell did this huh?! Who did this?! I'll kill you!"

"Like you killed that desk?!

"Maybe we should be scared. You might turn us into splinters!"

All of the comments he was getting was music to the young girl's ears as she held in a laugh herself, covering her mouth. 'Hell yes! I wonder how much Izuku likes it.'

She then turned to the green haired boy, preparing to see him laughing like the others, but she didn't even see a smile on his face. If anything it seemed like he didn't even like the prank.

Kyouka gave him a confused look, wondering why he had that look on his face. 'What's wrong Izuku? You should be celebrating that your bully for 5 years is finally being laughed at.'

The teacher sighed at all of this commotion and looked at everyone. "Students please calm down all of you. Bakugo if you want, you can go home early since there's no replacement desk at the moment."

"Fine! This shitty school doesn't deserve me to be here more than I have to anyways!" The red eyed boy shouted as he grabbed his bag and angrily walked out of the classroom.

"Students remember that we shouldn't laugh at another student just because of an unfortunate circumstance. Bakugo is an excellent student and works hard so he shouldn't be laughed at so much." The teacher stated, defending his star student.

The preteen girl resisted yelling at the teacher as she heard that. 'Don't laugh at another student? Really? Why has it taken you so long to say that when everyone laughs at Izuku every week?'

She hated how much Bakugo was loved by the faculty of this school, always being the one everyone loved because of his perfect grades and his strong quirk. All they want is to be proud of having such a powerful quirk user attending this school. They were all so confident he would be getting into U.A one day and she just hated it all.

'If this school didn't have Izuku in it, I would've left it long by now.' She thought to herself as she took in calm breaths.

But what mattered most is that her prank on him was a complete success and no one suspected her since they've never seen her quirk in action before.

She did want to know how Izuku felt about it though since he didn't look happy at all. Hopefully, he didn't get hit with a splinter or anything since those two sit pretty close to each other.

Soon enough the bell rang and all the students started to leave the classroom, but Izuku and Kyouka stayed in their seats as if they were each waiting to say something.

But the green haired boy was the first one to stand up before going to her desk. "Can you please meet me by the river near the school? I want to talk…"

The girl widened her eyes a little and nodded at the sudden invite. "O-Okay, Midoriya, I'll be there…"

Izuku then left the classroom, leaving the purple haired girl sitting there as she looked out the window. She couldn't help, but be a little scared about what he wanted to talk about.

'Is he mad at me or something? No that can't be it, I only messed with Bakugo to get back at him. Plus he's not the type to get angry like that. I just have to calm down and see what he wants.' She thought to herself as she tried to slow down her rapidly increasing heartbeat.

All she had to do was go to the river and see what Izuku wanted, it would be a close walk anyways so no need to wait much.

She finished reflecting on her day as she looked up at the clouds now, hoping that everything was going to be okay.

"I'm glad you came, Jirou. I'm sorry for making you wait." The young boy said from behind her as she turned around.

Usually, the two of them would be nervous considering that they met up alone to talk, but with these certain circumstances, they were composed for the most part.

Kyouka gave him a small smile and shook her head. "It's nothing, I killed some time skipping some stones while I waited. Do you want to sit down?"

The quirkless boy nodded as he sat down next to her before grabbing a stone himself, looking at it. "Why did you destroy Kacchan's desk earlier?"

His tone made him sound disappointed in her which caused her to widen her eyes as she brought her knees to her chest, looking back at the river. "W-Well it's just that he was being such a jerk to you all year so I think he deserved at least a taste of his own medicine."

"So basically you wanted revenge for me?" He asked, still looking at the stone.

The purple haired girl gave a small nod. "Yeah... I mean I felt like he deserved it so much. The one time you stand up to him, he just threatens you even more. It just wasn't fair."

Izuku sighed as he attempted to skip the stone across the river, but it sank immediately. "I know and I'm not mad or anything for you doing that. If I'm being totally honest, I'm happy you care that much to risk getting in trouble. But that's what worries me as well."

The young girl raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"I don't want you risking anything to fight my battles for me. I would hate it if you were to get detention one day for me or even worse, expelled. Plus I'm just hoping for the day when I can finally stand up to Kacchan for myself and finally show him that I can be a hero. This is just something I have to take care of on my own." He said with some determination in his voice.

As he talked he didn't realize that the girl next to him was looking at him in amazement. 'He always seems so shy, but when he puts his heart into something it's like nothing can stop him.'

"A-Alright, Midoriya, I promise I won't mess with him again...But only on one condition." She said as she got prepared to finally ask the question she's had since she was 8 years old.

"What's the condition, Jirou?" Izuku asked as he looked at his friend.

Kyouka then took a deep breath as she began to speak. "Can you tell me your history with Bakugo? I want to understand what's going on between you two. I'm sorry if it seems too personal, but since we've been friends for over 7 months I figured it would be okay to ask."

The young boy widened his eyes a bit, visibly taken aback by her condition before he nodded with some reluctance. "O-Okay I'll tell you, but it's a bit of a long story. I hope you won't mind."

She shook her head and smiled at him. "I won't, I'll listen for as long as you need me to."

Izuku sighed once more as he started to stare into the calm water. "Well for as long as I can remember Kacchan was the kid everyone wanted to be around. Even before he got his quirk, he was so brave and headstrong. Our group would always play together with Kacchan always taking the lead. He would always lead me and the other neighborhood kids into places like the forest which of course was pretty scary at the time. But when you're with him, you feel like you're following a strong leader."

The purple haired girl was listening very closely as she looked at him. "So what changed? It doesn't seem like he targets his other friends like he does you."

"Well, it mostly started when he got his quirk in preschool. That day it felt like a huge rift was created between us. All the other kids had at least some kind of quirk so of course they were still with him like usual. But even before I was diagnosed quirkless, I was always seen as the weak one of the group. Back then Kacchan was the only one in our friend group who could read so he read a part of my name as Deku which is supposed to stand for someone who is a hopeless loser who's useless." The boy explained some more, sighing as he remembered the friendship they once had.

The young girl just stared at him, wanting to hear more and was trying her best to not let her anger out. 'So that's where that damn nickname came from. I wish I had known what it meant years earlier or else I wouldn't have used it.'

The preteen boy continued to explain as he grabbed one last stone. "But then I was finally diagnosed quirkless and that's when the rift between us widened even more. Since then, I would always be the one who was singled out from every game, being treated like a burden and that's how it's been ever since. We both look up to the same hero, but it feels like only one of us will actually reach his level someday. I can't deny Kacchan is powerful and that it's pretty much impossible to beat him in a fight one day with his quirk. But just maybe one day I can have the courage and confidence to actually stand up for myself."

Kyouka felt herself tearing up at all of this information. Her hero has had to go through so much with someone he considered to be a friend. She just thought that Bakugo was just some random childhood bully. But all he's done was make Izuku doubt his own self and give him that horrible nickname she used to call him by. And it wasn't even just for 5 years, it was at least 9.

She wished she could've done way more than just destroy his desk earlier. She should've destroyed everything he owned. But she knew that Izuku would hate it if she did that. Why did he have to be such a good person sometimes?

Unfortunately, she couldn't hold in her tears as a few of them streamed down her cheeks which caused Izuku to widen his eyes. "J-Jirou, what's wrong?! W-Was it something I said?!"

The purple haired girl shook her head as she started to wipe some of her tears. "N-No it's not you...I-It's just that you don't deserve what's happening to you Midoriya. Y-You deserve a good friend who cares about you…"

'God why do I keep crying so much in front of him? He must think I'm weak or something.' She thought to herself, feeling a little too emotional right now.

The quirkless boy then smiled as he looked at her. "W-Well I do...I have you right here, Jirou, my best friend."

Kyouka widened her eyes at this and looked at Izuku before smiling back with tears still streaming down her cheeks. "T-Thank you, Midoriya, you're my best friend too."

Izuku's smile only grew as he stood up and offered his hand to the girl. "Let's go home, I'm sure our parents wouldn't want us being late."

The young girl nodded as she took the boy's hand, lifting herself up, and soon stopped crying. "Yeah…Thank you for telling me all of this

"It's no problem, I hope you understand me and Kacchan a little more now." He said as she let go of his hand.

"I do and it's great to understand something I've been wondering for 7 months." She said as they started walking home together.

Something the boy didn't realize was that Kyouka was feeling the happiest she's been in a while. 'We're best friends, that's one step closer to being where I really want to be.'

'This is the long game I'm willing to play.'

A/N

Wow this chapter took so much longer to write than expected! I started working on this since 3pm and I was procrastinating so much today. Now it's 1am and I'm posting this okay chapter. I felt like it took so long to get the first half done. If I'm being honest, I spent over an hour trying to come up with a situation for Bakugo going after Izuku. Also I was making up most of the things as I went along. The only thing I had planned was Kyouka learning about Izukus and Bakugo's childhood.

Honestly I'm too fond of hope this chapter went. In my personal opinion this is one of my least favorite chapters which isn't much to say since there's only 9 so far.

Originally I was going to make this a two parter, starting off the 2nd part with Izuku showing up at the river, but I figured having one chapter will flow better.

The next two chapters will definitely be shorter and will basically be filler chapters to say the least. But chapter 11 will technically be a prelude to chapter 12 which will be when I will officially adapt the first episode. So woohoo I guess.

Now let's get to the reviews!

Im The Person: Yeah this story was always rated M, but the rated M scenes won't come for a very long time I'll say. I would say that most of it is rated T, but I did M just for the safe side. Yeah I'm sorry that his confidence was what you expected, but I personally think that it will take a very long time before he starts to stand up for himself. You see him doing that a little bit in this chapter. Because also remember the first time Izuku really stood up for himself was after he got into U.A. Bakugo will certainly be in class 1-A so I can have certain scenes that I have planned.

Ability King KK: Oh crap yeah I didn't notice that mistake before, thank you for pointing it out. Also Kyouka will definitely show more of these aggressive moments in the future.

Chuck Winanaki: Oh yeah she definitely numbers them in my mind, but I'm not sure if I'll ever point that out. Maybe in a future filler chapter I will when she has like #8 or something lol. Also I'm very glad you're enjoying these interactions. I'm doing my best to keep their personalities as canon as possible, but of course with Kyouka being a little obsessive.

Mark the Mark: I personally feel like Kyouka's parents wouldn't bother snooping, well at least her mom. In this canon, let's say her dad tried once but her mom stopped him and warned him to not look again.

HeroLuffy726: I'm sorry I can't respond to all 4 of your reviews, but I greatly appreciate you caring about the chapters enough to review them. Regarding your latest review, I personally don't know too much about how exactly Shizuoka and Mustafu work. I'm mostly going off what I've read from other Fanfictions lol.

Well that's it for this chapter, I'll see you guys next chapter! Please feel free to leave a review!
