Kyouka could almost feel the impact of those words from All Might. She could only imagine the happiness Izuku was feeling, knowing that now All Might believed in him as well.
She did her very best to hold in her tears as the green haired boy on his knees was crying more than enough for both of them.
However, these tears would come to an abrupt end at the number one hero's next words.
"I deem you worthy of my power. My quirk is yours to inherit." The scrawny man said as he spread his arms.
The teen girl couldn't believe what she just heard and her hero seemed to be in the same state of shock. 'Inherit his quirk?! What the hell does he mean by that?!'
"W-Wait, what do you mean inherit? Inherit what?" The quirkless boy asked as if he was reading her mind.
All Might laughed as he stepped towards the boy. "You should see your face right now! Don't worry, I'm not gonna force this thing on you. Listen well young man, this is your choice! Do you want to accept my awesome power or not?!"
This just made no sense to the young girl, with how much Izuku has talked to her about quirks over the past 2 years, she's never heard of people inheriting quirks. She knew for a fact that he's never mentioned it since she would always listen closely whenever he talked to her. She made sure to never miss a single word of his so it was impossible for her to miss that.
With the number of times, she's listened to him talk about quirks she could possibly consider herself a bit of an expert as well. Before, how quirks functioned didn't really interest the girl at all, but hearing Izuku talking about them with such passion was music to her ears.
All Might continued to speak with the boy in front of him who was still looking very confused. "There are a couple of things you should know about my abilities. Journalists always guess my quirk is super strength or some kind of invulnerability. When people ask in interviews, I always make a joke, dodge the question. It's because the world needs to believe their Symbol of Peace is just a natural born hero like any of them. But I'm not, there's nothing natural about my ability. I wasn't born with this power, it's a sacred torch that was passed on to me from someone else."
The teen boy couldn't believe what he was hearing as he looked up at his hero. "S-Someone gave you this quirk? No way."
"Yes way and you're next, I can give you my abilities!" The skeleton-like man said as the wind blew.
"W-Wait hold on this is a lot to process. It's true that there's a lot of debate as to what your quirk actually is, nobody's ever figured it out. It's one of the world's greatest mysteries. People are constantly talking about it online." Izuku said as he put his finger to his forehead before muttering. "But, well the idea of passing on a quirk or inheriting it just doesn't make any sense to me. I've never heard of anything like it before. Powers are supposed to be unique to each individual, since the first…"
All of this muttering from the young boy brought a certain peace to Kyouka as she listened to every word that was coming out of his mouth. She felt herself calm down a little even after learning that All Might was given his quirk and that he's a scrawny man.
It is true that his quirk was a mystery, she remembered the days when Izuku would browse the internet and go on online forums that discussed the number 1 hero's quirk.
There was one time during lunch he left his phone unlocked when going to the bathroom and she just couldn't help but go through his phone a little. A part of her was worried that he was looking up anything lewd on his phone so she just had to go through his search history. Luckily his internet search history primarily consisted of topics about quirks and heroes. It made her feel so relieved that he wasn't looking up anything lewd like a lot of boys do at this age.
"Sounds like you're overthinking this whole inheriting thing… Stop needing out!" An impatient All Might shouted which caused the muttering to come to an abrupt end, causing the purple haired girl to slightly pout. "You'll have to adjust your reality and accept this new truth. I can transfer my quirk to someone else and that's just one facet of my secret abilities. The true name of my power is One For All."
"One For All?" Both teens said to themselves in unison, wondering what this quirk was.
"Yes, one person cultivates the power then hands it off to another person. It continues to grow as it's passed off. This cultivated power allows me to save those who are in need of a hero, the truth behind my strength." The skeleton-like man explained.
"But why would you choose me to give a gift like that? What if I can't live up to it?" The boy asked, unsure if he can handle it.
"I was on a long hunt for a worthy successor and then I watched you jump into action while the rest stood idly by. You may just be a quirkless fanboy, but you tried to save that kid. You acted like a hero." All Might said as the teen boy started to cry again. "Seriously, you gotta stop crying so much if you want my quirk! Come on kid."
The quirkless boy wiped his tears as he started to stand up with a determined look on his face. "Okay, I'll do it! Yes!"
He could finally do it, after all these years he would be getting the chance he's been waiting for. He was going to make his mom and his best friend proud of him. He was going to be the inspiration Kyouka deserves to have.
The hero smiled at the boy's response and looked down at him. "No reluctance, that's exactly how I figured you'd respond. Okay, meet me at the Dagobah Municipal Beach Park in two days early morning. There we'll talk more about inheriting my power."
The young boy nodded as he smiled at his hero. "Of course All Might, I'll be there."
"Well you better get home soon kid, you don't want to be out too late." The scrawny man said
Izuku nodded and took in a deep breath, already preparing himself for their meeting in two days. "Alright, I'll get home now. Thank you so much."
All Might laughed a little as he turned away. "Of course kid. Remember to not talk about this to anyone okay?"
"I swear I won't, your secret is safe with me!" The young boy declared as his idol started to walk away.
"See you in two days, I'll be waiting." The hero said before he turned the corner, now out of both teen's views.
The purple haired girl stood there, still processing all the information she just learned in these past few minutes. All Might is actually a scrawny man and that his quirk was apparently given to him. But most importantly of all, Izuku was going to inherit this quirk. She couldn't believe this was happening, his dreams were finally coming true and she was here to witness it all.
After a while of standing there in shock, the green haired boy started to walk home, still processing what just happened. He thought to himself that this could possibly be a dream, but if it was then he didn't want to wake up. Everything seemed too good to be true right now, he couldn't believe it.
Of course, he was followed by the teen girl because she still couldn't leave him alone. She had to make sure he still got home safe and just in case Bakugo wanted to try something again.
Tomorrow would certainly be interesting considering today's events. She was definitely going to talk to him about this at lunch. He mentioned that he did talk to All Might before and now she wanted to know what exactly that talk was about.
The Next Day
Izuku was currently walking to school, thinking about yesterday's events. Did it all actually happen? Of course, the news talked about the sludge villain attack and about Bakugo being the victim, but it all seemed so surreal. In a single day, he was attacked by a villain, saved by All Might, met All Might, risking his life trying to save his old friend, and then told that he was worthy of inheriting All Might's quirk.
It was like something out of a comic book, he really did wonder if it was all a dream. 'What if I go to the beach tomorrow and All Might isn't there? Would that mean I imagined everything?'
"Izuku?" He heard a voice call to him which made him jump considering how deep he was in his thoughts.
He looked to the side to see Kyouka right beside him, giving him a confused look. "K-Kyouka?! U-Umm good morning!"
The young girl figured that he was still thinking about yesterday and smiled. "Morning. Were you thinking about something important?"
The boy widened his eyes a little and looked to the side, avoiding eye contact. "N-No not really… just reflecting on what happened yesterday."
"Yeah yesterday was crazy, but hey we're both safe now so that's what matters right?" The purple haired girl asked, doing better at hiding what she knows than the boy next to her.
Izuku nodded and smiled as he felt relieved that yesterday wasn't a dream after all. 'It all happened… I'm actually getting a quirk from All Might.'
He did his absolute best to hide his excitement, but of course, some of it was shining with his widening smile.
The teen girl wanted to give him a hug out of happiness so badly. She wanted to congratulate him on finally having the chance to have a quirk after he's been wanting one for so long.
But she remembered what All Might said to him about keeping it a secret. He wouldn't tell her after promising his hero that he wouldn't tell anyone. She knew him, he would never betray someone's trust like that, especially the person he's admired his entire life.
Should she tell him that she overheard the conversation? What would he think? Would he get mad at her for listening in on his conversation with All Might?
These questions in her head were killing her and a part of her wished that she didn't hear that entire conversation in the first place.
On the bright side, she didn't bother writing down any part of their meeting in her notebook. She knew that Izuku definitely wouldn't be happy if someone saw her notebook and found out about All Might's secret. If anything he would blame himself for letting All Might's secret get out and she wasn't going to let that happen.
She just hoped that whatever she says, he won't start seeing her in a bad light.
It was now lunchtime and usually, the two friends would be having their regular conversations. But it was quiet between the two of them as they ate their respective lunches.
Izuku was still thinking about what All Might said to him yesterday, wondering if he really deserved to inherit his quirk. Of course, this would be his best chance at getting into U.A, but being told that he could have the quirk of the number one hero gave him so much weight on his shoulders.
He truly wanted to tell his best friend everything about what happened between him and All Might. He knew she could keep it a secret if he asked her to, he trusted the girl with anything. But he gave his word to All Might that he wouldn't tell anyone.
What if he told her? What would All Might do if he found out? Would he find someone else to inherit his quirk? Would he lose this once in a lifetime opportunity forever?
He knows that the obvious answer is to just not tell her anything at all and pretend nothing happened. But he just felt so guilty, knowing that he's keeping a secret this big from the only person before All Might to truly believe in his dream to become a hero.
Kyouka however, was having her own thoughts as she took glances at Izuku once in a while without him noticing. She still wasn't sure if she should mention what she heard yesterday.
It's obviously one of the biggest things to ever happen to him and she didn't want to risk possibly ruining it for him. She could never forgive herself if she ended up ruining his chances at getting All Might's quirk.
Maybe she should just ask him about his first meeting with All Might after he saved them both from the sludge villain. 'He did say that he was going to talk to me about it at school after all so he probably won't mind.'
The purple haired girl cleared her throat, making the boy snap his attention to her with a slightly surprised look on his face. "So Izuku, you mentioned something about meeting All Might yesterday. You did tell me that you could talk about it more, remember?"
The quirkless boy's eyes widened at this, immediately panicking, thinking she was talking about his second meeting with All Might. "M-Meeting?! D-Did I say that?!"
The young girl nodded and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, remember you said after he saved us you had a small meeting with him."
"O-Oh yeah of course! S-Sorry I guess I'm still a little shaken up from the villain attack yesterday." Izuku said, trying to save himself from revealing anything more than he needs to. "W-Well it wasn't much… I just asked him some simple questions about tips to be a great hero and he gave some pretty cool answers like to be strong and to always smile."
The teen boy didn't feel good lying to her like this. He would've mentioned the question he asked All Might if he could be a hero or not, but she would then ask more questions and he could possibly let something slip up.
Kyouka knew the boy in front of her was lying. He rarely stutters in front of her anymore unless he's surprised or embarrassed. He was clearly trying his best to hide something and she knew exactly what it was. But she couldn't blame him, she knew how much this all meant to him.
However, it's obvious she can't keep it a secret forever so she had no other choice. If she doesn't say anything now, she knows that this will keep eating at her.
"I know about One For A-" She was abruptly stopped by Izuku as he instinctively put his hand on her mouth to stop her from speaking.
"No. No. No. No. No. What have I done? Did I mutter it while I was deep in my thoughts? Did she hear everything I said? Oh god, All Might is going to kill me. I failed him already. I'm so sorry All Might, I'm a failure. I'm not worthy to have your power after all." The green haired boy muttered as he looked so scared, not even noticing his hand on the girl's mouth.
The teen girl couldn't help but blush a little with his hand on her mouth. Unfortunately, this wasn't the best time for that as she began to slowly take his hand off before looking away. "Izuku you didn't say anything… I heard it all yesterday."
The green haired boy widened his eyes as he gave her a blank stare. "Y-You heard everything? H-How? I thought you went home."
"Yeah, I did… but before I went inside my house, I remembered I wanted to ask you more about All Might since I couldn't wait for the next day. Then I heard Bakugo shouting his stupid crap and suddenly All Might appeared. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to spy on you or anything, I was just too surprised by everything he said, I felt like I couldn't move." The girl said, lying for her reasons to follow him as she looked back at him.
The teen boy then took a deep breath and looked down at the ground. "I-It's okay Kyouka I'm not mad or anything, but how am I going to explain this to All Might? I promised him I would keep everything a secret."
He was clearly worried out of his mind at the fact that someone else already knows this secret and it hasn't even been 24 hours since he was told.
Would All Might blame him for not noticing that she was nearby? Would he hopefully see it as an honest mistake and look past it?
He could try hiding it from All Might, but then he would be lying to his hero. Also, he didn't want to feel like Kyouka was something he had to hide. He was proud to have her as a friend and if anyone deserves to know this secret then it's her.
"Before you say anything else, I should probably tell you what happened the first time I met All Might to give you a better understanding." The green haired boy said, ready to let his friend know everything. "Well on that roof I asked him if I could become a hero without a quirk. Then he suddenly turned scrawny and explained to me an injury he suffered from a villain 5 years ago. After that, he said he didn't think I could become a hero without a quirk."
"He said what?!" The purple haired girl shouted as she stood up, forgetting All Might's secret for a moment."How could he something like that to the person who admires him most! That son of a bi-"
The girl then stopped herself as she realized that she was talking about Izuku's favorite hero and looked to the side completely embarrassed.
The teen boy couldn't help but smile a little at how protective his friend was. If he hadn't heard her talk bad about Bakugo by now then he would definitely be surprised at the way she talked about All Might. He figured she would get mad at him for this, but that was just in her nature.
"Kyouka it's okay, he was only saying that because he knows just how dangerous villains can be. I mean that sludge villain would've killed me no problem and he's technically a low ranking villain. But you know, even after he said that I still didn't want to give up on my dreams even if I didn't have a quirk. It's because I know you believe in me and that's all I need to keep going." He said as his smile widened.
Kyouka blushed at hearing this, knowing that she inspires him as much as he inspires her. "T-Thank you Izuku, I'm glad my support has pushed you this far. I know you're going to make a great hero and the only person who truly deserves All Might's quirk."
Tears started to form in the young boy's eyes. "I-I'm sorry… it's just that I can't believe I'm so lucky to have this opportunity and to have someone who's believed in me for this long."
The teen girl started to back down next to him and smiled. "I wouldn't say you're lucky, you really deserve to have all of this happen to you."
The boy then started to cry as he always did when he got this happy and she just looked at him with pure admiration. 'You're so amazing Izuku. I'm the lucky one to have known you for so long.'
The Next Day
It was now 5:47 in the morning as a tired-looking Kyouka walked beside Izuku who looked both very excited and very nervous at the same time, not even showing a hint of tiredness. "I can't believe this is all happening. Will All Might give me the power today? Will he change his mind? How will he react to Kyouka? Would he be forgiving since she found out on her own? Or would he blame me for not noticing her? Oh god, this is too much to handle. Should I just not show up at all? But then I would leave him waiting and waste his time."
The young girl gave a tired smile at the boy's muttering. "Hey it's okay Izuku, I'm sure everything will be alright. I'm sure the number one hero is an understanding guy."
The green haired boy sighed as he looked at her. "I know, but I can't help it. I'm so nervous having to tell All Might someone else knows his secret. I don't know how he'll respond to it."
"Well we'll see soon, the beach is only a couple of minutes away. I'm actually pretty nervous too, I mean I'll be meeting the number one hero. I think it's normal to be nervous, but don't try to think of anything negative okay?" She asked as she placed her hand on his shoulder.
The quirkless boy looked at her and smiled back as he felt himself calming down a little. "Y-Yeah you're right… I just gotta calm down."
The two friends then approached the stone that read 'Dagobah Municipal Beach Park.'
Izuku stood still as he looked at the trash-filled beach, taking in deep breaths. "You can do this Izuku, I'll be here with you."
The teen boy nodded and let out one last breath. "Thank you Kyouka, I just hope everything turns out alright."
They both began to walk down the stairs to get to the beach and they soon saw All Might in his muscle form just standing there with his back facing them and his arms crossed. "Ah young man, I knew you'd come! Now, are you ready to begin?! Get read-"
The muscled hero started to turn around as he shouted and stopped as soon as he saw Kyouka standing right next to him. He's seen her before. It was the same girl who went unconscious during the sludge incident and the same one who tried to go after this young man when he ran to save that kid. What was she doing here? Did he really tell her that quickly? He didn't seem the type who would tell his friends.
"All Might, before you say anything, please don't get mad at him. If you think he told me anything, he didn't. I listened to what you two were talking about after the villain attack. I'm sorry, I didn't know I would learn such a big secret." Kyouka said as she bowed down, doing her best to show her respect, trying to forget what All Might originally said about Izuku's dreams.
The green haired boy widened his eyes a little before bowing down as well. "N-No it's my fault! I should've made sure there was no one following me! Anyone could have listened to our conversation and I'm just lucky it was her of all people!"
The number one hero sighed and facepalmed as he shook his head. "Oh boy, this complicated things a little." He then smiled and gave a thumbs up. "The both of you shouldn't be sorry if anything I'm the one to blame. I should've made sure I did this in a private area. That's honestly my bad. HA HA HA HA HA!"
Internally, he was very ashamed of his mistake and resisted to keep on facepalming. 'Crap, how could I be so careless?! I'm in no place to discipline the boy at the moment.'
The purpled haired girl widened her eyes at how carefree he seemed. 'Is he really okay with this? I feel like he should be a little mad.'
All Might walked up to the both of them and placed his large hands on both of their shoulders. "You both seem like amazing kids. Young man, you risked your life to save that boy. And young lady, you tried to risk your life as well to save a friend and possibly that other boy as well. Unfortunately, I can't help it if anyone finds out my secret, but I would rather it be two people who would make amazing heroes."
"S-So I'm still worthy?" The young boy asked as he looked up at his hero.
"Of course you are! But before we begin, I would like to know both of your names!" The number one hero said as he took his hands off of their shoulders.
"Izuku Midoriya."
"Kyouka Jirou."
"Great! Now to begin with today's plans! Young Midoriya, wrap that rope around your torso!" All Might said as he pointed at a fridge with a rope tied around it.
"W-What? Umm, okay, All Might!" Izuku said as he ran towards the rope and grabbed onto it before wrapping it around himself.
Kyouka tilted her head slightly at what All Might had planned for Izuku. What did he have planned for him?
The muscled man then jumped on the fridge before sitting on it comfortably. "Now pull!"
The green haired boy widened his eyes and nodded before starting to pull. He was clearly struggling as he grunted and pulled with all of his strength, not even budging the fridge.
"Hey, what are you doing?! That thing must be extremely heavy, especially with you sitting on it!" The purpled haired girl said, clearly worried that her hero could tear a muscle.
"Oh it's fine, I've lost weight recently! I'm only 560 pounds now!" All Might said as he looked at her with his iconic smile.
The quirkless boy then fell face first and groaned before starting to sit up. "Much better… why am I dragging this trash around the beach anyway."
All Might turned his attention back to Izuku and laughed as he took out his phone, taking pictures of the scrawny boy. "Take a look at yourself! You're not ready for my power!"
"W-Wait I thought you said that I was worthy!" The young boy said with tears coming out of his eyes as the muscled hero came off the fridge.
"What's even the point of this?! I thought you were going to give him your power!" Kyouka shouted, getting a little frustrated.
"I mean his weak body, young Jirou. My quirk One For All is a lot to handle. The combined physical abilities of everyone who's ever used it creates a hurricane of pure force. An unprepared body can't fully inherit it. His arms and legs would shoot off if he tried to!" The number one hero said a little too casually.
The teen girl widened her eyes at hearing this and imagined her hero's limbs shooting off before shaking her head, trying to get the image out of her head as she rubbed her arms and shivered. 'I want that image out of my head forever.'
"Seriously?! Okay, this whole trash thing is some kind of hardcore gym workout and you're my trainer." The young boy said as he looked up at All Might.
"You got it!" The number one hero gave a thumbs up before he walked to the fridge. "But there's another reason too. I did a little online research yesterday. Turns out this part of the beach used to be beautiful, but it's been a total mess for the last few years."
Izuku started to look at all the trash as he stood up. "That's right, because of the ocean currents, anything that dropped in water ends up here. People take advantage of that when they're illegally dumping their trash. Now all the locals avoid this place."
"Whoa Izuku, you really know your stuff, I thought you were only a nerd in quirks." The purple haired girl said with a laugh.
"W-Well I like to read up on some articles here and there, it's nice to learn new things." The boy said with a bit of red on his face.
"No need to be embarrassed young Midoriya, learning something new is always great for the brain!" All Might laughed at the embarrassed boy as he put his hand on the fridge. "You know heroes these days are all about showing off and capturing villains. Things were different before quirks, service is what mattered! Back then heroes were those who helped the community! Even if it was kind of boring!"
The number one hero completely crushed the fridge as he spoke, revealing a beautiful sunrise right behind him.
'Is he suggesting what I think he's suggesting?' Kyouka thought to herself, a little nervous about what her hero would have to do.
"You'll restore the coastline for this entire section of the beach. That is the first step on your path young man, towards being a hero.
"A-All of this? But there's so much. That's impossible!" The teen boy said with a worried look on his face.
"Young Midoriya, you want to go to U.A right?" The muscular man asked as he looked back at the boy in front of him.
The quirkless boy nodded as he looked at his friend and smiled. "Yeah, of course. Me and Kyouka want to make it there as heroes. You went there All Might, so it has to be the best school around. It's a long shot, but we'll both do our best no matter what."
Kyouka smiled back and walked up to him. "Yeah, that's right. We know that there'll be hundreds of other applicants going for the hero course, but I think we can do it."
"You two have a lot of spirit! I like it!" All Might shouted with a wide smile before turning to the ocean. "Unfortunately heroing isn't easy to do without a quirk. It's not fair, but that's the reality of it. U.A is the hardest hero course to get into so that means-"
"I'll have to prepare my body for your quirk really fast! U.A's exam is in 10 months!" The young boy said, starting to panic at what little time he has.
The number one hero then pulled out a stack of papers and showed it to the boy. "Not to worry kid, I've got you covered! With the help of my handy 'Aim to Pass American Dream Plan!' Follow this to the letter and the beach will be cleaned up just in time! I also detailed every other aspect of your life while I was at it."
"Whoa, you even planned out my sleep schedule." The young boy said, grabbing the papers and looking at the 4 hours of sleep he'll get.
"If I'm being honest this is going to be super hard, think you're up to it?" The hero asked the asked boy.
The clearly nervous boy gave a small nod. "Yeah, sure I am. I have to work way harder than anyone else to get in so what choice do I have?"
All Might placed his hands on his hips as he nodded. "Of course! In 10 months your body will be unrecognizable!"
Kyouka glanced at the plans and widened her eyes as she felt her stomach feel a little heavy. "T-That's a lot of working out. I hope this won't cause you too much strain Izuku."
"Not to worry, young Jirou, this plan was made with his body type in mind. As long as he follows this plan to the letter then he'll be successful without any backlash. I bet you'd be muscular too if you followed a plan like this." All Might said as he gave her a thumbs up.
The young girl shook her head immediately, not wanting to get that buff. "N-No it's fine… muscular build isn't exactly my top priority. I mostly want to focus on improving my abilities."
Izuku suddenly had an idea as he looked at her. "Wait, I think this will be a good opportunity for us both Kyouka."
"Hm, what do you mean by that?" The young girl asked as she tilted her head.
"Well, you could train your abilities here with me. Think about it, every time I take the trash off of the beach, you could try destroying it with your quirk. We could strengthen your destructive capabilities when you plug your earphone jacks into objects. You've mentioned that the densest object you have ever destroyed was a small boulder right? Well, what if you could increase your power to potentially destroy something like a metal barrel or maybe even one day a car?" The quirkless boy said with his eyes shining at all of the potential her quirk could have. "I could bring my notebook and we can discuss your quirk more in detail."
She had to admit, she didn't expect this idea from him, but at the same time, she did. Here he was, bringing out that nerdy personality she loved so much. She could tell he felt excited about the idea of testing her quirk and getting it stronger.
A week ago she felt pretty good about her quirk's strength, not feeling the need for much training. But ever since she failed at saving Izuku two times, she knew she had to get stronger. She wasn't going to let that happen again. One day, Izuku would be in trouble again and she would have to be the one to save him. She will always do everything she can to protect him.
Also, this meant that she would be getting to spend even more time with him. She always hated that after school they wouldn't see each other until the next day. Now she had the opportunity to be with him until 7pm. That's almost 12 full hours with Izuku, it was like a dream come true to her.
The teen girl nodded and smiled at her hero. "I like your plan, it sounds perfect. We'll train for U.A together."
"Hmm, I think that can work as long as you're not interfering with young Midoriya's training. Alright, it's settled, you two will train under me for these next 10 months! You better be ready! HA HA HA HA HA!" All Might shouted as the sun rose even higher behind him.
From there, the countdown to U.A's entrance exam began. Only 10 months to clean up the beach and only 10 months to get Izuku's body ready for One For All.
Kyouka knew it was going to be hard for him, but she knew he could do it. If anyone is going to overcome all of these obstacles, it's him.
'We'll get through this together, Izuku. I promise.'
A/N
Real quick I wanna thank jsolis96 for providing the thumbnail I'm using for this story. I think it fits pretty well with my story.
God damn this chapter is finally done after so long! Sorry for the wait guys. I admit I took 2 whole days off not even thinking of working on the chapter, one to catch up on some assignments and another to have some me time and play online with some friends. I also spent most of the 3rd day doing nothing until nighttime. I've gotten really into Star Wars recently and have been enjoying playing games like battlefront 2 with friends and Jedi Fallen Order. Also clone wars season 7 is just amazing.
Okay enough about my personal life, time to talk about the chapter.
I gotta say, this is my least favorite chapter. One way, I think I did okay setting up the training arc and in the other way I think I could've gone so much more in depth. Hope you guys didn't mind that like 80% of this chapter was a carbon copy of the beginning of episode 3.
Don't worry more original content will come within the next couple of chapters. I might change this chapter in the future. By the way the next couple of chapters will be filled with time skips with the next one being one month.
I hope you guys didn't mind how I handled Kyouka meeting All Might. I was going to make it more dramatic, but I don't know if All Might would really raise the tension, especially if he knew it was his fault that she found out. He definitely would be freaking out a little internally though with his slip up.
I might make chapter 16 or 17 a filler chapter focusing on Kyouka's birthday and her family. Kind of like what chapter 10 was for Izuku's birthday. If I don't do it then it'll happen when they're in U.A, but I think now would be a decent time.
I'm not gonna lie, I feel a little unprepared to write this training arc. I feel pretty confident about the future though so I hope my writing seems smoother then. I just need to figure out some stuff for the USJ arc which I will ask about probably in the next chapter or chapter 16.
My end goal is to make it to the U.A Entrance Exam by chapter 19 at the very latest. I hope you guys don't think the pacing is too slow or anything. For reference, the sports festival won't be coming til like chapter 30 or something and don't even get me started on when the license exam will start.
Also, to address some of your guy's reviews about the training arc and how Izuku will develop one for all. I don't think I'll have him get 5% full cowling by the entrance exam arc or even by the USJ arc. But I am considering having him get it before the sports festival, but I'm still 50/50 on that for the meantime.
Now onto the reviews!
eternallydissolved: You know with a lot of people talking about that I'll do that. Originally it was going to be only Izuku train, but I realize now that Kyouka training is much better from a storytelling perspective.
Besat5: Yep that's certainly the plan now!
Naoto Koizumi: To be honest your review helped a good amount with some character lines I added in. I'll go more into detail about what exactly Kyouka's training will be in the next chapter. You also helped give me the idea for All Might to acknowledge Kyouka trying to go after Izuku. It does make sense actually now that I think about it.
Joker D. Zero: Thank you so much for liking my story. I swear everytime I see that someone likes my story, it really does makes
me smile.
Lightgiver: I felt like Izuku would do his best to keep it a secret since he promised his hero he wouldn't tell anyone. But of course with the good person he is, he would have some struggles.
WolfCerberus: That's actually a pretty good idea. I'll think that over and see if I can find a way to make that work.
SonicMax: To be honest, same here. But sadly I already picked my moment for that.
Guest: To answer your question about the movies, yes I will do them without a doubt. In future chapters I'll go into more detail on how I'll handle them.
Chuck Winanaki: God I hate you for mentioning Meoldy lmao. It took me until like chapter 8 or 9 to finally notice. That's what happens when I publish my story at 4am. I will forever be ashamed of it. I'm still trying to figure out if I'll still have Ochako call Izuku 'Deku' or not. A part of me wants to cause I like it when she calls him that, but I'm trying to think about this from a storytelling perspective. I'll definitely talk more about that in a coupe of chapters. Honestly, I'm not too sure on how I'll handle other pairings except hinting at a few of them like Kirishima and Mina for example. Personally, if there's any girl I like to see Bakugo with, it's Camie, but only cause I enjoy their interactions and find them funny as hell.
Jerrend: Well she has penetrated the bots before. Remember in the sports festival she disabled two small ones with her earphone jacks.
Im the Person: It's okay I don't blame you, I give myself that same criticism about it being close to canon. In my opinion the more important story elements will be the character interactions, but I plan to bring the bigger changes in the USJ arc. I'm still in the middle of figuring out how Kyouka will be during this training arc so it might take a while for that.
Ability King KK: My original plan was to have her wait a few months to tell him, but I kind of wanted to get that over with. Plus, my dumbass probably wouldn't have been able to find a good way to execute it well lol.
FireandChaos: I'm honestly excited to write those arcs as well, but unfortunately it will take a LONG time for that to happen.
blacklust3rsoldi3rofchaos: Thank you, I will and I hope you keep reading.
Guest: I hope you didn't mind me having her stay.
Guest: Yep, I hope you liked the way I handled it.
HeroLuffy726: Damn, I didn't know her power could work on liquids. I thought she needed a solid object for that. Well maybe I can have her practice doing it lol. I think I could definitely make that work when Izuku gets full cowling so she can see what percentage he can go at. Yeah she'll definitely have her own training, I don't see her trying to improve her muscles too much since that's not her fighting style.
Well that's it for reviews!
I hope you guys didn't mind the long wait for this subpar chapter. I hope the next ones are better.
Please feel free to leave a review!
