"WHAT?!" Both Izuku and Kyouka shouted in shock at the same time as they both looked at the hair with wide eyes.
All Might rubbed the back of his neck as he gave a sheepish smile. "To inherit my power, you've got to swallow some of my DNA. That's how it works!"
Izuku instinctively backed up a little as he kept staring at the hair. "T-This isn't exactly how I imagined it!"
"Don't tell me you're going to make him eat it!" A disgusted looking Kyouka shouted as she put her hand over her mouth.
The muscular man got closer to the boy as he put the hair in front of his face. "Come on the quicker we're done with this, the better! So eat! Eat! EAT!"
"Fine, I'll do it!" The quirkless boy shouted before quickly snatching the hair and shoving it into his mouth, swallowing it as fast as possible so it wouldn't make contact with his tongue. He then put his hand over his mouth, doing his best not to throw up and not think about it too much. "I-I ate it…"
The purple haired girl gently patted his back as she looked at him with concern. "Are you okay Izuku…?"
She couldn't believe what she just saw, her hero eating the hair of the Symbol of Peace. She knew it was the way for him to get a quirk, but it didn't make it any less revolting. 'So gross…'
"So you swallowed it right?!" All Might asked as he looked down at the boy.
"Y-Yeah, but I don't feel like anything's different yet…" The green haired boy responded as he looked at his hands.
The hero laughed as he placed his hands on his hips. "Well of course not! Your body has to process the hair first! Hmm it should kick in after 2 maybe 3 hours!"
The teen boy placed his hands on his stomach as his face looked sick. "My stomach's in knots… Well, I should at least shower and eat some breakfast…"
"Yeah that sounds good, I barely woke up not even an hour ago." The young girl said as she yawned a little.
"Ah yes good idea, but we still need to try out young Midoriya's new power!" All Might said as he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"Try it out?" He asked as he looked up at his hero. "I don't think that would be the best idea All Might. I mean your power is crazy strong and if I tried it anywhere then I would surely destroy something. That'll get me in a load of trouble."
"Well here's the thing, you may have molded your body into a proper vessel, but you did it in a hurry so be cautious. You still need to take it for a test drive. The physical backlash of One For All could be intense and I don't think it's necessary to talk about the rest of the details." The muscular man informed in a serious tone.
Izuku widened his eyes when hearing this as he shivered at the image of his arms and legs shooting off popped in his head. "P-Physical backlash?!"
"Wait, backlash? Could this power hurt him?" Kyouka asked in a concerned tone as she looked at the hero.
"Well possibly, but when I inherited the power I had zero issues handling it so it's possible that young Midoriya can do the same. But I think we should make sure before the exam. It wouldn't be ideal for him to first use it there." All Might explained before he pointed to his truck. "I'll just take the both of you home for now and around 9 I'll pick you both up so we can test out young Midoriya's power. I know a place where he can try it out no problem."
The green haired boy sighed as he took his hands off of his stomach before nodding and clenched his fist. "Alright, I'll make sure to give it my all."
The teen girl smiled at her hero, loving how determined he seemed right now. It's like he's ready to show the world that he finally has a quirk and that he can finally become the hero he's dreamt of being.
Now both teens were sitting in the back of All Might's truck as he drove them in his scrawny form. They had both already eaten and had freshened up when they got home and luckily Izuku wasn't feeling as sick anymore.
He decided to wear his tracksuit again for the ride because he knew that he was going to train soon enough so it seemed fitting to him.
Kyouka had spent her time doing some stretches and writing in her journal about her day so far. She had added a ton of personal notes in it about how proud she was of Izuku and how she couldn't wait to see his quirk in action.
However, a part of her was worried that he would suffer some physical backlash like All Might mentioned earlier. But it couldn't be that bad right? All Might did say he had full control immediately. Then again, Izuku's body was rushed to get the quirk. Hopefully, it wouldn't be anything serious, maybe it'll just cause some sore muscles or at worst, a torn muscle.
Maybe she was just worrying for nothing and there would be no physical backlash at all. All she could do now was wait until they reached the location All Might was taking them to.
She had no clue where he was taking them though, all he said was that it was a place where they didn't have to worry about any collateral damage. She figured it would be some remote forest, but she knew forests that were closer to both of their homes so it wouldn't make much sense to go this far.
The purple haired girl then glanced at Izuku and smiled as she saw him fidgeting with his fingers. 'He's so adorable.'
Izuku didn't notice the smile and was obviously nervous at the fact that he was about to try out All Might's power. Strangely, he still wasn't feeling different at all ever since swallowing the hair. He had to admit he was worried that he didn't have the power yet. What if the hair hadn't processed in his body yet and he's still quirkless?
But of course, there's still the chance that he does have the power and he just doesn't feel it yet. Then what could he do during training?
"How do I even activate the power? Is it something you have to feel deep within yourself? How do I know when I'm using the power? All Might doesn't show any physical signs when he uses his quirk. Wait, he does get all muscular when he uses it so does that mean I'll get that big too? Is that how One For All looks like when it's activated by the user? Does that mean I'll have to buy larger clothes? But what if I have to get even larger clothes than All Might? He did say that the power grows with each user so could I have a larger body than him? There are so many things about this power that's such a mystery, where do I even begin? I could start with…" The green haired boy continued to mutter as his words filled the car.
The young girl beside him smiled widely at this muttering, not hearing it in quite a while and happy to hear it again. 'He's already putting so much thought into this quirk and it's only been a few hours. But when I first showed him my quirk, he immediately started muttering his ideas without a second thought. It's so impressive how he can talk endlessly about quirks. I wonder how much he'll do that in U.A.'
However, All Might was getting pretty distracted by the all muttering and glanced back at the boy while slowing down the car a little. "Hey kid, if you want to make it there in one piece then I'd advise you to not distract the driver."
Suddenly he was honked at by another car before hearing someone yell at him. "Come on go faster old man! This is a one-lane road you know!"
"Ah crap… Sorry, that's my bad!" The scrawny man replied as he spat out some blood and drove faster with the two teens trying to hold in their laughs.
"Maybe you should keep your eyes on the road 'old man'." The purple haired girl mocked as she now let herself laugh at the hero.
Meanwhile, the boy did his best not to laugh as he put his hand over his mouth and chose not to comment on the situation.
"Well, at least one of you is better at showing some manners." The number one hero said as he rolled his eyes but still gave off a small smile as he took a peek at the rearview mirror to see how much they were both enjoying themselves right now.
'These two are always fun to be around.' He thought to himself before seeing that their destination was right ahead.
All Might smiled wider as he continued to drive. "Alright you two, I'm going to need you both to close your eyes. I want this next part to be a surprise."
"Yes sir!" Replied Izuku immediately as he closed his eyes, not wanting to ruin any surprise All Might had for him.
Kyouka nodded and leaned back in her seat as she closed her eyes as well. "Yeah sure, but is it that important?"
"Oh, I would say it is." The scrawny man answered as he sped up, wanting to make it there as soon as possible.
Soon both teens heard the car stop which caused the young girl to raise an eyebrow. "Are we there now? Can we open our eyes?"
"Patience young Jirou, I recommend you both get out of the car first before you open your eyes so you can have the perfect view." All Might said as he got out of the car and opened both of their doors for them.
Both of them exited their respective sides of the car before slowly opening their eyes, but they were shocked at what they saw.
"No way… Are you serious?" Kyouka asked as she looked straight ahead of her, rubbing her eyes to confirm the sight before her.
"I-Is this for real?! A-Are we really here?!" Izuku asked as he couldn't take his eyes off of the building in front of him.
They were both standing in front of the gates of U.A High School with the iconic building being straight ahead. Neither of them could believe that All Might has brought them here of all places.
"So what do you two think? Are you impressed?" The scrawny man asked as he crossed his arms.
Both friends nodded simultaneously before the green haired boy looked at his idol. "I-Is this where I'm going to have my test drive with your quirk?!"
All Might gave the boy a thumbs up and nodded. "Yep! I figured this is the perfect place to train you since I also spent a good amount of my training here. This school was made to test out powerful quirks, especially its training grounds. And don't worry I have connections that allowed us to be here and train. Actually, before we go in... here you go." He then handed them both cards which had the words 'temporary use' written on them. "These cards will grant you access to the campus, but they'll only last a few hours so feel free to do what you want with them after."
"Whoa that's awesome, but won't people think we're getting an advantage if they see us here." The teen girl asked as she looked at the card.
"Yeah that's a good point, plus I don't want to have any special advantage over the other applicants. It would kind of be like cheating since I'm being shown favoritism." Izuku said as he tightened his grip on the card a little.
"Oh no need to worry about that, only two other people know you're here and I promise you that one of them isn't one of the judges who'll determine the exam scores. The other one is very busy right now so we won't be seeing him. In fact, he's the one who provided these cards. And he won't show any favoritism towards you as well I swear. When you get into the exam, you will be scored just like everyone else." The number one hero explained as he smiled, proud that his successor wouldn't want to cheat in any way.
The teen boy sighed in relief and smiled as well, knowing he won't have any special treatment. "That's good to know. So we're only here to test out the power in a safe environment is that right?"
All Might then transformed into his muscular form before giving a thumbs up. "That's right! Now get on!" He pointed at his back as he squatted down. "This way will be much faster and I don't want you two exploring the campus too much! I was told to avoid that if I could or else I'll get in trouble!"
"Okay…" Kyouka said with some reluctance as she slowly climbed into the hero's back which the boy had no problem doing.
'This must look so ridiculous…' She thought to herself before looking at Izuku, seeing a wide smile on his face. 'He looks like he's about to ride an exciting roller coaster or something so I guess it can't be that bad.'
"Okay now hold on! And make sure to close your eyes and mouth!" The number one hero said before preparing to jump. "Off we go!"
All Might took a huge leap forward as both teens kept their eyes and mouth closed as the wind blew onto their faces.
The purpled haired girl couldn't deny that she was scared shitless at the moment. She had no clue how high she was and how fast she was going right now, but she was certainly glad that she had a light breakfast because under normal circumstances she would be throwing up by now. But suddenly she imagined doing this same thing with Izuku once he's jumping this high and her holding on to him tightly. It made her blush just thinking about it as her fear went away a little.
On the other hand, the green haired boy was enjoying himself, but at the same time, he was scared as well, hoping his hands wouldn't slip. 'I can't die now before I get to try out All Might's power!'
Soon the muscular man had landed next to a building with a small old woman waiting right next to the door. "Alright, young Jirou I'm going to need you to get off! Young Midoriya and I will be going somewhere else!"
The teen girl widened her eyes as she heard that as she hesitantly let go. "How come I have to get off? Why can't I join you guys?"
"Wait, Kyouka isn't joining us?" The young boy asked as he looked at his idol.
"Sorry, it's better this way! I'm sure you want young Jirou to see your power in action, but if she's too close she'll get blown away and if she's too far then she won't see much! However, U.A has a special room that monitors different training grounds of the school and that will give her the best view while also being safe! She'll be waiting here with Recovery Girl!" All Might explained as he pointed at the old woman.
This caused Izuku to widen his eyes before looking to where All Might was pointing and started to fanboy. "W-Wait the Youthful Heroine, Recovery Girl?! Y-You work here at U.A?! I can't believe it! I'm such a huge fan of how many lives you've saved with your quirk! It's truly amazing!"
"Oh thank you, sonny, you're too kind." Recovery Girl said with a smile before walking over to the younger girl. "Come with me now, I'll take you to the monitor room."
Kyouka sighed before nodding, disappointed she won't be there in person when Izuku finally uses his quirk. But at least she'll be having a good view of it. "Alright, I'll be right behind you." She then looked back at the boy and gave him a thumbs up. "Good luck Izuku."
Izuku gave a thumbs up back as he smiled. "I'll do my best to show you what I can do."
"You'll see each other soon, don't worry! But for now we train, young Midoriya!" The number one hero shouted with a booming laughter as he jumped away with Izuku still on his back.
The old woman made her way into the building with the purple haired girl close behind. 'I hope he doesn't start training right away. I don't want to miss anything.'
Soon they both entered a high tech looking room with a giant screen and a small chair in the middle which Recovery Girl sat at. "Let's see what these two are up to sweetie."
The woman then turned on the screen to show a suburban-looking area which made the young girl tilt her head. "Is this where they're training?"
"Yes it is, this area is best suited for a power just like All Might's. I can't think of any other area perfect for the boy." The Pro Hero answered as she watched the screen.
"W-Wait you know about All Might's quirk?" Kyouka asked with wide eyes as she looked at the old woman.
Recovery Girl nodded as she smiled and leaned back in her chair. "Yes I do and I was told that you do as well. Fun fact, we're the only women to know this secret at the moment so isn't that exciting?"
"Yeah, I guess it is…" The teen girl said as she rubbed her arm a bit. "It's still a lot of pressure having to keep a secret this big…"
"Don't try to think about it too much sweetie, I know you'll do just fine keeping it." The old woman said with a sweet smile before seeing two people enter the area. "Ah, they're here."
"Are we there yet?" Izuku asked with his eyes still closed and holding on tight. Even though he's already been in the air with All Might back in April, having it happen twice in a row was a little much for him.
"Yes we are, young Midoriya so you can get off now." The muscular man said as he felt the boy let go of his trench coat.
"So this is where we're training huh?" The green haired boy asked rhetorically as he looked around. "I can see why. This place looks like it can handle a power like yours. This is also great at simulating real life cities if needed. This is perfect for training students."
"Correct, fanboy! Now, are you ready to begin your training with this power?!" The number one hero asked as he looked down at the young boy.
Izuku nodded and smiled at his idol. "I'm ready, but what do I practice on? Should I try a tree… a lamppost… oh, am I trying it out on a building?!"
All Might laughed as he placed his hands on his hips, shaking his head. "Not exactly young Midoriya! Your target is…" He suddenly grabbed his trench coat and ripped it off of his body, revealing his hero costume underneath. "Me!"
"Y-You?! Are you sure that's a good idea, All Might?!" The young boy worriedly asked as he backed up a little.
"Of course! You can easily destroy a building with about half of my power, but we want to know how much you can do at full power! And I'm the best at determining how powerful you are!" The muscular man replied as he gave a thumbs up.
'Well there are the robots as well, but he specifically told me that I'm not allowed to use them during training so young Midoriya won't know what kind of robots to expect during the exam. But robots would be much better instead of me being the target.' He thought to himself as he internally sighed.
"Okay… I'll do it." Izuku said as he looked at his hand. "But how do I even activate your quirk?"
All Might ruffled the boy's hair as he smiled at him. "It's real simple! Now take note of this young Midoriya! I want you to clench your butt cheeks and yell this from the depths of your heart!" He then punched straight into the air, causing strong winds to hit Izuku in the face as he stood his ground. "SMASH!"
'Clench your butt cheeks…?' Kyouka thought to herself with a small blush forming on her cheeks. 'What the hell kind of advice is that?!'
However, it's not like she could argue with that advice. She doubted that she could come up with anything better. Maybe that's how the power actually works or maybe that's just the only way All Might knows how to do it.
She did her best to keep the image of Izuku clenching his butt cheeks out of her mind so she wouldn't be flustered in front of Recovery Girl as she pinched her arm.
"Get ready, sweetie. you're about to see something awfully impressive." Recovery Girl said as she watched the screen.
The purple haired girl nodded as she clenched her fist. "Okay, I always expect the most amazing things from him…"
She stared at the screen in anticipation as she smiled, ready to see her hero finally use his quirk for the first time. 'You got this, Izuku. I believe in you.'
Izuku nodded at the advice, taking it seriously as he looked at his right hand. "I got it… Are you ready, All Might?"
All Might nodded as he raised in arms in a blocking position and planted his feet into the ground. "Hit me with your best shot, young Midoriya!"
The green haired boy took in a deep breath as he closed his eyes. 'I can do this… I can do this… Just clench my butt cheeks and yell from the depths of my heart… This is my first official step to becoming a hero.'
Izuku then opened his eyes and looked straight ahead at All Might as he pulled back his right arm, clenching his fist and his butt cheeks. Suddenly his arm started to glow a bright orange with red vein-like lines coursing through his arm, causing his entire sleeve to tear off of his arm.
"SMASH!"
He then threw a punch right into All Might's arms, forming a strong gust of wind, sending trees flying, lampposts detaching from the ground, and the buildings nearby suffering some damage. It looked like something only All Might could accomplish, but this showed even greater power.
"Whoa, that's a lot of power!" All Might yelled out as he felt his arms hurting a lot from the smash and was even pushed back a few feet. This caused some blood to come out of his mouth as it flew back from the wind.
'I might've pushed myself a little much.' The hero thought to himself as he stood his ground.
Soon the wind stopped and right behind All Might was a path of destruction with everything being a mess. The road behind him was completely demolished and looked like it never even existed.
Izuku stood there with his arm still outstretched as he had this intense look on his face. However, he then looked at his arm and widened his eyes to see that it was dark red and suddenly felt a huge pain throughout his entire arm before falling onto his knees. "AAAAHHHH! My arm's broken!"
The muscular man widened his eyes as he looked at the arm as well and rubbed the back of his neck. 'Oh crap… I was hoping this wouldn't happen.'
When Kyouka saw Izuku throw his punch, her face was full of amazement, seeing the boy she's admired all these years have this much power.
She had the biggest smile on her face, seeing how the once quirkless boy who dreamed of being a hero now having a power that rivals All Might himself.
It was like watching his dreams come true right before her very eyes. It caused some tears to form in her eyes before she wiped them away, not wanting to look overly emotional in front of the Pro Hero.
But that smile quickly disappeared as she saw his broken arm and hearing his screams. "No, Izuku! Where's that training ground?!"
"Oh, there's a map right outside of this room to it. But don't be hasty, let's take our time getting there." Recovery Girl said before seeing that the girl was already gone. "That was fast…"
She then got out of her chair and nonchalantly walked out of the room as she hummed herself a song.
"Young Midoriya are you okay? How does your arm feel?" All Might asked with a worried look on his face as he looked down at his successor.
"I-It's all in pain! This is the most pain I've ever been in!" Izuku responded as he breathed heavily and gently grabbed his broken arm.
"I apologize young Midoriya, I was really hoping this wouldn't happen. I guess your body isn't quite ready yet." The muscular man said as he inspected the boy's arm. "Wow, this is bad…"
"Y-You knew this could happen to me All Might?" The green haired boy asked, doing his best not to focus on the pain.
"W-Well I knew it was a possibility, but I was just really hoping for the best. I guess I was a bit too optimistic..." All Might replied, looking a little ashamed.
"Izuku!" Kyouka yelled out as she ran towards the two before finally reaching them and gasping as she got a closer look at the boy's broken arm. "Oh my god, what happened to his arm?!"
The number one hero widened his eyes as a large puff of smoke surrounded his body, reverting to his scrawny form and spitting out blood. "Umm young Jirou, young Midoriya broke his entire arm when he used a smash, I thought this wouldn't happen…"
The purple haired girl then glared at the hero which made him flinch a little. "You knew he could get hurt this badly?"
All Might didn't know why he felt so nervous with that glare as he reluctantly nodded. "Y-Yeah I did, but hey at least what we're dealing with."
Suddenly she sent an earphone jack right in front of the man's face as she raised an eyebrow. "Next time, give a warning that he could be hurt this badly or else. And you're responsible for this."
'Man this girl can be really scary sometimes…' He thought to himself with some shivers going down his back.
"O-Of course young Jirou I'll make sure of that…" All Might said before looking back at the boy. "Alright young Midoriya, I think we're about done training. Let's get you home."
"W-Wait not yet… I-I'm not ready to stop..." Izuku said as he slowly started to stand back up by himself, trying to ignore the pain in his arm.
Kyouka widened her eyes as she gently placed her hands on his shoulders to support him. "Izuku, what are you talking about? Look how badly you're hurt, we should get you to Recovery Girl. Can't she heal you?"
"Young Midoriya, we already know what One For All does to your body. We can worry about possible solutions another time. Let's just get you healed up and go." The scrawny man said as he looked at the boy with a small smile.
"I-I can't go now… T-There's something I want to try out first…" The green haired boy said as a determined look formed on his face. "This is my only opportunity to try this out before the exam."
"Try what out?" The teen girl asked as she raised an eyebrow, worried about what her hero was going to try. Knowing him it wasn't going to be anything she expected.
"Kyouka, can both you and All Might back away a little. Please do this for me…" The boy requested as he looked at a small shop right ahead of him.
"Okay… But please don't do anything too crazy." Kyouka said as she backed away along with All Might.
'Young Midoriya, what do you have planned?' All Might thought to himself as he crossed his arms, watching the boy.
"Well, I can promise it won't be the craziest thing in the world." The young boy said with a smile on his face, doing better at ignoring the pain.
'Sometimes All Might uses air pressure to defeat his opponents and my smash from earlier caused a strong gust of wind to form. If that's the case for any smash, then what'll happen if I do this…?' He thought to himself as he kept his eyes focused on the shop.
Izuku then outstretched his left arm with his hand looking he's about to flick his finger. Suddenly his middle finger started to glow as his right arm did before. "Smash!" He shouted as he flicked his middle finger, sending a small but still strong gust of wind towards the small shop, destroying it on contact.
Both All Might and Kyouka widened their eyes at this, not believing what they just saw.
The scrawny man's jaw dropped as he looked at the destroyed shop before looking back at his successor. 'He somehow managed to focus One For All into a single point of his body, minimizing the damage to his body. Even I didn't think of a solution like that. The heck young Midoriya, how did you get so cool?'
The teen girl couldn't help but smile as she saw what her hero managed to do. Of course, at this point, she should expect something this smart to come from him. He never ceased to impress her and she could tell that he impressed All Might as well. Even with a quirk that breaks his body, he still manages to find a way around it and use it to his advantage. She still didn't like the fact that his body would be broken while using this power, but having only his fingers broken was better than his entire arm.
"I-It actually worked…" Izuku said to himself as he made a weak fist with his left hand and let out a painful grunt. "F-For now this is the best I can do…"
"My, my you've managed to break your finger while I made my way here sonny?" Recovery Girl said as she finally made it to the training ground, walking to the boy.
"Y-Yeah I'm sorry about that and as you can see my right arm is completely broken…" The teen boy said as he gave a weak laugh.
"Don't you worry about that too much sonny, I'll fix you right up." The old woman said before extending her lips to the boy's arm, giving it a big smooch.
Suddenly his right arm and left middle finger started to have a gentle green glow to them as their redness went away and were completely healed.
"Whoa, that's crazy… I'm feeling as good as new." Izuku said as he moved around his right arm, feeling no pain at all.
Kyouka sighed in relief as she placed her hand on her chest, glad that Izuku was healed quickly instead of having to go to the hospital. Hopefully, Recovery Girl can be around more if he ever hurts himself again. But in her best case scenario, he wouldn't be getting hurt at all.
"Alright, you're all healed up now. Now try to be more careful when using that quirk of yours." Recovery Girl said as she pointed her cane at the boy. "Well I'll be off now and I'll see you at the exam, don't break any more bones in the meantime."
The green haired boy nodded and smiled at the old woman as she left. "Yes ma'am, I'll try my best."
All Might then went up to the boy and placed a hand on his shoulder with a smile on his face. "Good job kid, you really surprised me with that trick of yours. So tell me, how did it feel to use One For All?"
"Like a lot of broken bones." The teen boy replied immediately as he looked up at his idol with a blank look on his face.
"No! I'm talking about the rush inside. You must have felt it coursing through you. What was it like?" The scrawny man asked as he facepalmed.
The green haired boy cupped his chin, thinking about it. "Hmm… Like bzzz… or no like whoosh… or maybe kapow… or, um… oh I know! Like an egg about to explode in a microwave!"
All Might laughed as he spat out blood and nodded. "That's pretty boring but okay! If that's the metaphor you want to go with then lower the wattage or decrease the cooking time, whichever one works. Keep focusing on that image in keeping the egg from exploding alright?"
"Keep the egg from exploding… I feel like that'll be a lot harder than it sounds." Izuku said to himself as he looked at his right arm.
"With enough training, you'll learn to control how much power you use with your quirk and your body will hold it better." The number one hero said before he transformed into his muscular form. "Then you'll have full control and be truly ready, young Midoriya!"
"I understand, I won't let you down All Might!" The young boy declared as he pumped up his fist. "I'll master your quirk and one day I'll make it my own."
"Hey, I know you can do it Izuku. You'll find a way to control your quirk and then you'll be number one." Kyouka said as she walked up to him with a smile on her face.
Hearing this caused Izuku's face to go a little red from embarrassment as he ruffled his hair. "N-Number one huh? You know hearing it out loud is pretty insane, but maybe you're right."
All Might laughed as he pat both teens on the back. "You two better get ready for the exam! Don't think you can slack off now!"
"Yes sir! I'll train my hardest until that day comes. Kyouka and I will definitely pass the exam. Isn't that right?" The green haired boy asked with a wide smile as he looked at his friend.
The young girl widened her eyes a bit and nodded before smiling back. "Right."
Kyouka and Izuku then gave each other a gentle fist bump with smiles plastered on both of their faces.
'We'll make it in together.'
It was now February 25th, the night before the exam and Kyouka was currently staring at the ceiling as she laid in bed.
Tomorrow was the day that would determine the next 3 years of her life along with her future career as a hero. It could also determine her future relationship with Izuku.
She was having a bit of a hard time sleeping with all of the nerves getting to her as she felt herself shiver a little. She still had her fears about the exam along with the insecurities of Izuku potentially meeting a much better girl at U.A.
But at times like this, she had to think of Izuku. She knew that he was just as frightened as she was, maybe more actually. She knows how much pressure is on him now that he's inherited All Might's quirk. And even after all of that pressure on him, he's still pushing forward and is probably training at his house right now to get ready for tomorrow.
The purple haired girl suddenly shook her head as she gripped her bed sheets. She couldn't let her fear get to her. If she does that then she'll end up being distracted and fail the exam.
That would mean letting down Izuku and she wasn't going to let that happen. She would make sure that he looks at her as someone who is worthy to become a hero just like he is and someday maybe more.
She then gently closed her eyes with a small smile on her face as she kept Izuku on her mind. As long as she knows he'll be there, she feels like she can accomplish anything.
'Tomorrow will put these past 10 months to the tests. I just have to believe that I can get through it.'
A/N
That's it for chapter 19! Okay I admit I had some fun writing this chapter and it actually was supposed to come out yesterday afternoon, I had like half of the chapter written and everything excluding the A/N section, but me and a close friend were playing video games from 5pm until like 3am until we stopped and I immediately went to bed so that's my bad. But it's definitely better than the release schedule I've had for the past 2 weeks. Next chapter will probably be up in 2 days since I'll be pretty busy tomorrow.
But damn this chapter was so much longer than I planned it to be. It was supposed to be about the length of last chapter, but I just kept going.
Now what did you guys think of my approach for Izuku training with One For All? I personally think I did it in a way that makes somewhat sense and doesn't seem to out of place. I was tempted to add scenes with Nezu, but it didn't seem to fit very well with me. And my original plan was to only have Recovery Girl and Nezu show up anyways at U.A. But I figured Recovery Girl was enough and it makes sense that she off all people would be there.
By the way, I don't really know how the U.A campus is set up so I couldn't really think of many ways to show it off. That's why I did the cut there. I tried looking for how the U.A campus is set up, but I couldn't find anything.
And for where Kyouka and Recovery Girl were watching, just imagine that area the students spectated the practical finals with Recovery Girl in season 2. I admit I had to search for that episode for proper reference.
There were some scenes I would've like to expanded on more, but I didn't want to drag this chapter on more than necessary.
Alright next chapter is the chapter I'm sure some of you have been waiting for, the U.A Entrance Exam. That chapter will also include the debut of a certain gravity girl who will certainly cause some problems for Kyouka in future events.
Originally I was going to have the entrance exam be only from Kyouka's perspective, but since Izuku knows how to use his fingers earlier than in canon, I will definitely show his side as well.
Also, I'm thinking of either jump cutting between the two using those lines (—) or showing their entire experience separate using only one line with showing Izuku first and then Kyouka when they're doing their practical. I'm highly considering the jump cut method though since that seems like it'll flow better. I showed an example of jump cutting between Kyouka in the monitor room and Izuku training.

Chuck Winanaki: Don't worry, she will still be great at recon, she'll just have the added destructive power. I only focused on the destructive power in the training arc because it was something new. Kyouka will definitely have the same power set and skills as in canon, just with some added power. I figured it wouldn't be necessary to focus on her heartbeat amps and recon since it's established enough in canon if you ask me. But I definitely won't mind having her train those in the future though. I never planned on having her only explode things. Also, just use anime logic with the trash pile and screaming lol. I liked that moment in the anime and wanted to include that here. I wish I could explain, but I just can't think of anything.
Notsae: I hope you don't mind that I'm not exactly taking her on that route, but I'll admit that it was the original plan.
