Kyouka was twirling around her earphone jack as she sat in class, staring at the ceiling while taking the occasional glance at Izuku who was currently checking his notes to make sure he's prepared for class.
She certainly felt a lot better than she did yesterday. She didn't have any trouble sleeping nor did she have any nightmares last night and today just felt like a completely normal school day. It was like she could just simply forget about the events that occurred 2 days ago and could just go on with life as usual.
However, she was not very fond of the conversations she was currently overhearing and it was putting a bit of a damper on her mood.
"You guys! Did you watch the news last night?" Toru asked in an excited tone.
"Yeah." Ojiro replied with a nod.
"It was so cool that we got a few seconds of screen time!" The invisible girl exclaimed before looking bummed out. "Though I bet nobody noticed me hanging out in the background."
"Probably not." Shoji commented, causing the other boy to widen his eyes.
"It is difficult to stand out when you're just gloves." The tailed boy said with a smile, trying to reassure the girl.
"We're totally big deals. Those news channels love us. We're basically celebrities." Kaminari said as he looked back at Kirishima.
Kirishima nodded as he looked at the boy. "Yeah, it's kind of crazy, right?"
'I don't want to hear about this kind of crap right now…' The purple haired girl thought to herself as she began to cover her ears and laid her head on the desk. 'Can't they talk about this somewhere else?'
She had just gotten finished forgetting about the villain attack and now these guys were just bringing it up so casually. She then decided to just tune out the rest of the students as she plugged her earphone jack into her phone to listen to some music.
"Who knows what would've happened to us if the teachers hadn't shown up." Sero said as he laid his head on his arms.
"Why'd you say that?! I'm gonna pee myself just thinking about it!" Mineta shouted in a panicked tone as he stood on his seat.
"Oh, shut up! Grow a pair, loser!" Bakugo shouted as he turned towards the midget.
Sato turned towards Tokoyami as he smiled. "Did you guys see All Might fighting the bird guy? That dude was super strong and he still destroyed him!"
"Yes. His strength is truly a thing of wonder." Tokoyami said with his eyes closed.
Izuku then looked at the clock and smiled before standing up as he cleared his throat. "Alright, everyone, class is about to start. I hope you're all ready for today."
"Don't tell me to be ready, you damn nerd!" Bakugo shouted as he grinded his teeth together.
"You got it, class rep!" Kaminari replied with a thumbs up.
"Bakugo, don't yell at the beginning of class! It's utterly disrespectful!" Iida shouted at the explosive boy.
Sero raised an eyebrow as he looked at Iida. "But aren't you yelling too, Iida?"
The blue haired boy widened his eyes before gritting his teeth as he looked down at his desk. "Dang it…"
"Don't sweat it!" Ochako reassured her friend with a smile.
'Sorry, Iida.' The green haired boy thought to himself as he sweatdropped before sitting back down.
"Hey, Tsu. So…" Mina started as she leaned her seat back and almost fell before being caught by Tsuyu. "Who do you think's gonna teach class today?"
"No idea. Mr. Aizawa's still in the hospital, recovering from his injuries." Tsuyu said before the door suddenly opened, revealing Aizawa with his entire body covered in bandages.
"Morning, class." Aizawa greeted in a muffled voice before walking into the classroom.
"Mr. Aizawa, what are you doing here?!"
"Whoa! What a pro." Kaminari commented with a shocked look on his face.
"Mr. Aizawa, I'm glad you're okay." Iida said as he raised his hand.
"You call that 'okay'?" The brown haired girl asked as she looked at her mummified teacher.
"My well being is irrelevant. What's more important is that your fight isn't over yet." The Pro Hero said as he looked at the students.
"Our fight?" Bakugo asked, looking a little intrigued.
Izuku started to look a little worried. "Don't tell me…"
Kyouka gulped as she unplugged her earphone jack from her phone. "What does he mean?"
"Not more bad guys!" Mineta panicked as he grabbed his head.
Aizawa then narrowed his eyes at his students. "The U.A Sports Festival is about to start."
"Yes!" Kirishima exclaimed as he leaned forward.
"The Sports Festival!"
"Let's go kick some ass!" Kirishima shouted as he started to raise his fist.
Unfortunately, his excitement got taken down as his face got pushed by Kaminari. "Wait a second."
"Weren't we just attacked by villains? They could attack once we're all in the same place." Ojiro stated in concern.
"Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever. Plus, they're beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at U.A. It's not something we can cancel because of a few villains." The Pro Hero explained to the concerned students.
Mineta started to look worried as he raised his hand. "Uh, I'm sorry, but why not? It's just a Sports Festival."
"Huh? Mineta, don't you know how important this competition is?" Izuku asked as he looked at the boy behind him.
"Of course I do. I just don't wanna get murdered." The midget said as he started to sweat.
Aizawa ignored the talking students as he continued to explain. "Our Sports Festival is one of the most watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic Games. But then quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone who cares about competition, there's only one tournament that matters. The U.A Sports Festival."
"That's right. And top heroes everywhere will be watching." Momo said as she made a fist. "This is where you get scouted."
"Sure, unless you're dead." Mineta commented as he glanced at the girl.
"She's right. After graduating, a lot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick." Kaminari explained as he turned his left, giving a thumbs up.
Sero nodded as he gave the boy a thumbs up back. "Yeah, this competition could give us some killer opportunities!"
Kyouka turned to her hero as she smiled. "Many winners of the Sports Festival end up being amazing Pro Heroes."
Izuku smiled back as he nodded. "Yeah, All Might won all 3 years during his time at U.A. There was no competition. But of course, heroes like Endeavor and Best Jeanist did amazing in the festival as well. Everyone could see their potential ear-"
Unfortunately, the boy was cut off by the Pro Hero, causing the girl to furrow her eyebrows in slight annoyance. "It's true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity. That's why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open a path for you. One chance a year. Three chances in a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training."
"Yes, sir!"
"Class is dismissed." Aizawa said before leaving the classroom.
'The Sports Festival, huh?' Kyouka thought to herself before giving a small smile towards Izuku. 'Soon the whole world will see just how amazing you are. I know you'll impress everyone there.'
Cementoss had just left the room and it was now lunchtime as many students got out of their seats and started talking about the Sports Festival.
Izuku looked at his best friend as he rubbed the back of his neck. "This is actually happening, isn't it? We're going to attend the Sports Festival."
Kyouka nodded as she leaned against the wall. "Yeah, it feels like yesterday that we were both watching the event together and talked about being there ourselves. Now it's becoming a reality."
The green haired boy smiled and clenched his fist as he started to feel excited. "Yeah, we're going to show everyone what we can do. Hopefully, we can get scouted by some amazing pros."
"Well, with that flashy and powerful quirk of yours, you'll be sure to get some offers." The purple haired girl said as she gave a small smirk.
"My quirk… I'll have to get more control over it, but maybe you're right." Izuku said before looking at his hand and smiling wider. "Looks like I got more training to do!"
"I'm glad to see that the both of you are excited! This is an event where we should all be fired up!" Iida exclaimed as he started to do little dance in a tense fashion.
"Wow, Iida. Those are some interesting moves. Ribbit." Tsuyu commented as she watched the dance.
"Dekiru! Jirou! Iida!" The three teens heard before turning to see Ochako with a super intense look on her face. "Let's do our best in the Sports Festival."
"Uraraka, what happened to your face?" Izuku asked as he started to feel a little intimidated.
"Seriously, what's up? You're normally, like, the most laid back girl ever." Mina said as she popped out of nowhere.
"PM-" Mineta started to say before being slapped across the face with Tsuyu's tongue.
"We were having a conversation, you know." Kyouka mumbled to herself as she crossed her arms.
Ochako then raised her fist as she looked at them all. "Everyone! I'm gonna do my best!"
"Yeah!" The two boys cheered on as they raised their firsts as well, but were still confused.
The purple haired girl sighed as she weakly raised her fist. "Sure."
The brown haired girl then turned towards another group of students with her fist still raised. "I said, I'm gonna do my best!"
'Why the hell is she so pumped up already? This seems a little much.' Kyouka thought to herself before looking at Izuku and noticed that he's staring at Ochako with something on his mind. This gave her an uneasy feeling in her stomach as she placed her hand on it. 'Why is he staring at her like that? What is he thinking?'
Soon, they all started to leave the classroom and Izuku turned to Ochako with a curious look on his face as they all walked down the stairs. "Hey, Uraraka?"
Ochako turned to the boy as she tilted her head. "What's up?"
"Why did you decide to come to U.A? What made you wanna be a Pro Hero?" The green haired boy asked, causing his best friend to internally sigh in relief.
'So that's why he was looking at her like that. That's relieving to know.' The purple haired thought to herself before glancing at the other girl. 'But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little curious myself.'
The brown haired girl seemed a little surprised by the question. "Oh… Well... Because…"
Izuku widened his eyes at her answer. "For the money? You wanna be a hero so you can get rich?"
Ochako looked a little embarrassed as she rapidly rubbed the back of her head. "If we're cutting to the chase, then, yeah." She then rapidly shook her hand towards her friends with an ashamed look on her face. "I'm sorry if it sounds greedy. You three have such admirable motivations. I hope you don't think less of me now."
"Not at all! Your goal is to support your wellbeing, which is a perfectly admirable ambition to have." Iida said as he waved his hands around.
The green haired boy nodded in agreement as "It's just kind of surprising."
Kyouka tried to play along to be nice as she nodded as well. "Yeah, I'm sure tons of people do it for the money as well."
The brown haired girl sighed before starting to ruffle her hair. "Well, you see, my family owns a construction company, but we haven't gotten any work lately, so we're flat broke. Anyway, this isn't really something I usually tell other people, but.."
Both boys cupped their chin before Iida started to talk. "Construction, eh?
The green haired boy gasped as he had an idea before smiling. "If she got licensed, I bet she could use her quirk to bring costs down a lot."
Iida smiled as well as he raised a finger. "And they could sell their heavy lifting equipment. She could float everything!"
"Hell, you could probably start your own construction company and get super rich." The purple haired girl said as she crossed her arms.
Ochako pointed finger guns at them as she jumped. "I know, right! I've been telling dad that since I was a kid! But…" She then started to explain how her dad wants her to follow her own dreams as she gripped her skirt. "I'm gonna become a pro. I'll sign with a good agency and make plenty of money. Then I'll be able to let my parents have an easy life!"
Iida suddenly began to clap in a seal-like fashion. "That's beautiful! So noble! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!"
Kyouka brushed some hair behind her ear as she noticed Izuku staring at Ochako again, causing that feeling from before to come back to her. 'What is he thinking this time? Is he slowly falling in love with her…? I hate to admit it, but that is a good admiration. Dammit. I can't lose to her like this…'
Suddenly, booming laughter was heard as the teens turned towards the direction of the laughter to see All Might coming towards them.
"Young Midoriya is here!" All Might shouted as he pointed at the boy.
All teens were shocked at this sudden appearance before Izuku spoke up. "Whoa, All Might. What are you doing here?"
"Yeah, this is a little too sudden." The purple haired girl said as she stared at the hero with wide eyes.
"Lunch!" The number one hero answered before pulling up a lunch bag decorated with bunnies. "You wanna eat with me?"
"That's adorable!" The brown haired girl shouted, starting to freak out a little over the adorableness.
"What do you say?!" All Might asked the boy as he held up the bag higher to tempt him.
Izuku turned towards Iida and got a nod before turning to Kyouka, noticing that she was delaying her answer.
Kyouka sighed before reluctantly nodding. "Go ahead. You don't have to ask permission, you know."
"Sure thing." The green haired boy said as he ran towards All Might before looking back at his best friend, smiling at her.
The two One For All users walked away together as Iida cupped his chin. "Looks like we're eating without Midoriya today. What a shame."
The purple haired girl pouted as she looked down at her shoes. "I guess we are…"
Ochako finally calmed down before looking around. "Huh? Where'd Dekiru go?"
"I'll explain to you on the way. Let's not be late for lunch." The blue haired boy said before starting to walk to the cafeteria, followed by the two girls.
'What does All Might even want with Izuku at this time? It better be important or else…' Kyouka thought to herself as she gripped her backpack straps.
The three teens were now at the cafeteria and were waiting in the lunch line as Ochako turned to her two friends. "I wonder what he wanted with Dekiru."
"I heard that when All Might was attacked by villains during the USJ incident, Midoriya tried to stop them himself. Perhaps that's what this is about." Iida said as he made gestures with his hands.
"Oh, yeah!" The brown haired girl exclaimed as she hit her palm.
"But I also heard that Jirou went along with him. So it could be related to what Asui said on the bus." The blue haired boy said with a smile. "Since their quirks are so similar to each other, it's possible that All Might's taken a liking to him. How lucky!"
"W-Well maybe they're a little similar. But I wouldn't go that far." Kyouka said, trying to make sure no one keeps thinking that Izuku's and All Might's quirks are similar. "Tons of people have strength enhancing quirks so it could be for a different reason."
"Oh, do you have any idea, Jirou?" Ochako asked as she looked at Kyouka. "You seem to be the one who knows Dekiru the most."
The purple haired girl immediately shook her head as she raised her hands in defense. "Of course I don't. I'm just speculating, that's all. But Izuku is amazing and maybe All Might just sees a lot of potential in him."
The brown haired girl gave a wide smile before nodding. "Yeah! Dekiru really is amazing, huh?"
They all continued to talk, luckily driving the conversation away from All Might and Izuku's relationship, but none of them noticed that Todoroki was paying close attention to the conversation.
The three teens soon sat down at the lunch table and Kyouka frowned as she looked at the empty seat next to her before grabbing her chopsticks.
She was about to take a bite of her food before being interrupted by Ochako. "So Jirou, there's something I've been pretty curious about."
Kyouka internally sighed and continued to look at her food before deciding to talk to the other girl. "What exactly?"
"What's the deal with Dekiru and Bakugo?" The brown haired girl asked as she took a bite of her food. "It seems like Bakugo really had it out for him during combat training. You and Dekiru seem to know Bakugo as well. Did the three of you know each other before U.A or something?"
"Uraraka, isn't that a little too personal? You should respect the privacy of those two and wait until they're both present if you want to ask." Iida said as he pointed his hand at the girl.
"I'm sorry, but I'm just really curious. And since Jirou is close to Dekiru, I figured she might know something." Ochako said as she looked at Iida before looking back at Kyouka, clasping her hands. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"It's okay. I don't mind talking about it much, but I won't get too detailed about it." Kyouka said as she poked her food. "Well, the three have us have known each other before U.A. But Izuku and Bakugo go back far longer. Basically, both of them have known each other since childhood and they used to be good friends. But then Bakugo got his stupid quirk and became a massive dick about it. Now he looks down at Izuku and sees him as a weakling. All he does is treat Izuku like trash and acts like he's the best in the whole world." She then started to tighten her grip on her chopsticks as she grit her teeth. "God, just thinking about that asshole makes my blood boil."
"Don't use such vulgar language against a fellow classmate!" The blue haired boy scolded the girl but was ignored.
"Whoa, I didn't know it was that deep between the two of them." Ochako said before smiling widely. "Those two are totally fated rivals. That's so awesome!"
"Yeah… Awesome." The purple haired girl mumbled before starting to eat.
Kyouka took a bite of her food before sighing. 'Dammit. I already miss him…'
This had been the first time since elementary school that Kyouka has had to eat lunch at school without Izuku. For all 3 years of middle school, she had never gone a single day without Izuku being right next to her. Sure, there were those times where it seemed like he wasn't there due to that time he was overworking himself and falling asleep during lunch, but this felt totally different.
She was hoping that she would be able to stand not having Izuku around her for just lunchtime, but it's only been a few minutes and she already feels miserable. She was truly addicted to having her hero around.
'You just had to talk to him during lunch, huh All Might? You couldn't have waited until after school?' The purple haired girl thought to herself as she took another bite of her food before closing her eyes, trying to imagine Izuku right beside her.
"Excuse me." She heard a voice call out to her, causing her to smile as she opened her eyes. She couldn't tell who it was, but right now she was just holding onto false hope.
"Izuku?" Kyouka asked before turning to the voice and seeing Momo standing next to their table. "Oh, it's you…"
"I was hoping to talk to both you and Midoriya." Momo said before looking at the empty spot next to Kyouka. "Do you mind if I sit there?"
"That's usually Izuku's spot, but I guess…" The purple haired girl said before starting to play with her food.
"By the way, where is Midoriya? Is he using the restroom?" The black haired girl asked as she sat down and took out a fancy looking knife and fork.
"Oh, he's having lunch with All Might. He's so lucky!" Ochako answered for Kyouka before starting to chow down on her food.
Momo seemed surprised by this before looking at Kyouka. "With All Might? Is that true?"
Kyouka nodded as she kept her attention on her food. "Yeah. All Might probably sees a lot of potential in Izuku after he tried to save him from the villains."
"But you ran in as well, Jirou. Why aren't you having lunch with All Might?" The black haired girl asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"I wish I could tell you why." The purple haired girl mumbled, still feeling bitter that All Might took Izuku from her.
"Interesting. I'll have to ask him about that another time." Momo said before smiling at Kyouka. "Well, if Midoriya isn't here then I hope you don't mind if I talk to just you instead."
Kyouka looked at Momo and gave it some thought before shaking her head. "No, I don't mind. So, what do you want to talk about?"
The black haired girl cleared her throat before giving a bit of a stern look. "Just what were the two of you thinking, running into the fight like that?"
The purple haired girl widened her eyes at Momo, not expecting this from the gentle girl. "Well… If I'm being honest then neither of us were thinking."
"You two could have easily been killed or seriously injured." Momo scolded as she sighed. "Also, it was very difficult carrying Mr. Aizawa to the exit all on my own. Thankfully, Uraraka spotted me while I was going up the stairs and used her quirk to help me carry Mr. Aizawa the rest of the way. I'm grateful that she was there."
The brown haired girl gave Momo a thumbs up while her mouth was full of food. "No problem!"
"Swallow your food before talking, Uraraka!" Iida scolded the girl while making various gestures with his hands.
"Oh, sorry about that. I know what we did was stupid, but that's just how Izuku is. He runs in whenever someone is in danger no matter what danger lies ahead. If I'm being honest, it's something I both hate and admire." Kyouka said as she started to smile again. "But that's where I come in. I'll always be there to protect Izuku. I made that promise to him and I'll be damned if I don't keep it."
"You care about Midoriya a lot, don't you?" The black haired girl asked as she gave a softer look.
The purple haired girl's face went red at hearing that before looking to the side. "W-Well of course I do. We're best friends after all. We look out for each other. We always will."
"I see. Well, it's obvious that he cares about you just as much." Momo said as she glanced at her phone. "When I texted him, he mostly talked about your safety and how he's glad you didn't get hurt."
"Really? That's great to hea-" Kyouka started to say before widening her eyes and almost choked on her food as she realized what Momo said. "T-Texted him…? W-What do you mean by that?"
The black haired girl looked a little confused by Kyouka's reaction but decided to ignore it for now. "Oh, well after we all left the USJ, I sent Midoriya a text message to ask him if he's doing okay and to reprimand him a little for his reckless actions."
The purple haired girl didn't realize that she snapped her chopsticks in half as she gave a wide smile. "I didn't know you two exchanged numbers. He didn't mention anything to me."
"Well, it was for purely professional reasons, considering he's our class representative and I'm the deputy." Momo explained before taking a small bite out of her food. "It only makes sense that the two of us can stay in contact just in case any issues arise in our classroom."
Kyouka tried to reassure herself as she let go of her broken chopsticks. 'Calm down, Kyouka. She said it's only for professional reasons. There's no reason to think that the two of them text super casually. Izuku would tell me if that was the case. He told me about the times when Iida and Uraraka texted him.'
"That's great." The purple haired girl said as she continued to smile, wanting to keep her cool. "Hey, how about I have your number as well? Izuku isn't the best at checking his phone most of the time so how about you text me about any issues you have and I'll relay them to Izuku. We leave nearby each other so if it's important then I could just go over to his house and tell him what you said. I could even make a group chat between the three of us if you want."
The black haired girl nodded before elegantly placing her knife and fork down next to her plate. "That's a great idea. It would be very inconvenient if he wasn't able to answer any of my messages. And you seem reliable enough to get my messages through to him."
Kyouka then gave Momo her phone and watched as she put her number in. 'Perfect. Now I'll be able to keep track of any time that the two of them text. She's more gullible than I thought.'
Momo finished putting in her number before handing the phone over to the purple haired girl. "Thanks. Remember that I'll be available to text anytime you want about anything. I'm great at keeping Izuku in line."
"I appreciate it, Jirou. I have to admit that Midoriya being class rep made me feel a little uneasy at first due to his timid nature." Momo confessed as she placed her hand on her chest. "But I believe that I'm starting to have more faith in him."
"Oh trust me, he'll kill it. You won't find a class rep better than him." Kyouka said as she gave Momo a thumbs up.
"He's the best!" Ochako shouted with her mouth full before being scolded by Iida again.
The four teens continued to talk as they ate their lunch as Kyouka studied Momo's behavior a little, trying to see if she was any threat or not.
'She's definitely the most tolerable girl I've met at this school. I think I can get used to her being around if she comes again. Plus, she doesn't seem to have any interest in Izuku. It seems perfectly platonic.'
They were now back in class and Izuku had returned just a minute before class started. Kyouka had asked him what his meeting with All Might was about and Izuku had told her that it was mostly All Might giving his support for the Sports Festival and that his new time limit for using his power is only 50 minutes.
Usually, she would be pretty upset at the fact that because of All Might, she had to spend all of lunchtime without Izuku. However, she was pretty shocked and disheartened that All Might could only do hero work for 50 minutes now instead of 3 hours. She figured she could cut him some slack this time.
A while later, the bell rang and everyone started to leave the class before Ochako opened the classroom door and widened her eyes at the sight before her. "Um, why the heck are you all here?"
Dozens of first-year students from different courses were crowded in front of their classroom, leaving no space for anyone to slip out.
"Do you students have some sort of business with our class?" Iida politely asked as he pointed his hand at the crowd.
"You guys mind moving?" Kyouka asked as she placed a hand on her hip. "We want to go home as much as you guys, you know."
"Why are you blocking our doorway? I won't let you hold us hostage!" Mineta proclaimed as he raised his fist.
"They're scouting out the competition, idiots." Bakugo said as he walked towards the crowd, leaving behind a shocked Mineta. "We're the class that survived the villain attack. They wanted to see us with their own eyes."
"Let's just hope he doesn't explode anybody." Izuku said, trying to comfort the midget a little.
The ash blonde boy stood in front of the crowd as he stared them down. "At least now you know what a future pro looks like. Now move it, extras."
"You can't walk around calling people 'extras' just because you don't know who they are!" The blue haired boy shouted as he waved his hand at Bakugo.
"So this is Class 1-A. I heard you guys were impressive, but you just sound like an ass. Is everyone in the hero course delusional, or just you?" A purple haired boy from the crowd asked, causing everyone behind Bakugo to rapidly shake their heads and wave their hands while Kyouka pointed at the explosive boy. "How sad to come here and find a bunch of egomaniacs. I wanted to be in the hero course, but like many others here, I was forced to choose a different track. Such is life. I didn't cut it the first time around, but I have another chance. If any of us do well in the Sports Festival, the teachers can decide to transfer us to the hero course. And they'll have to transfer people out to make room. Scouting the competition? Maybe some of my peers are, but I'm here to let you know that if you don't bring your very best, I'll steal your spot right from under you. Consider this a declaration of war."
'Where did this guy even come from.' The four friends thought to themselves as they looked at the boy.
Unfortunately, Kyouka felt a little intimidated by this declaration as she rubbed her arm. 'Is this guy serious? We can lose our spot in the hero course if we don't perform well enough? I don't like the sound of this at all.'
Bakugo and the purple haired boy stared down each other for a few moments before being interrupted by a boy with silver hair. "Hey, you! I'm from Class 1-B next door to you! We heard you fought some villains, and I came to see if that was true! But you're just a bunch of brats who think you're better than us!"
'Crap! Everyone hates our class now!'
"Talk all you want! It'll be more embarrassing when you're KO'd." The silver haired boy shouted before seeing Bakugo starting to walk away. "Don't you ignore me!"
Kirishima stepped in as he looked at the explosive boy. "Dude, where are you going? You gotta say something. It's your fault they're all hating on us, Bakugo."
"These people don't matter. The only thing that's important is that I beat them." Bakugo said before walking out of the classroom, making his way through the crowd.
The silver haired boy wouldn't give up as he raised his fist. "Hey! I'm coming for you!"
Kirishima clenched his fist as he teared up a little. "I hate that, that was such a manly exit."
"You said it." Sato said as he cupped his chin.
Tokoyami nodded in agreement as he closed his eyes. "We have to beat them, he wasn't wrong."
Kaminari looked confused at this before looking worried. "Yeah, sure, but this sucks! He made us everyone's enemies."
Mineta nodded as he raised his fists. "Yeah, that's right! All of these dumb students will be gunning for us in the festival now!"
The purple haired girl shook her head before looking at Izuku. "Is it me or does Bakugo seem a little different?"
The green haired boy nodded as he kept his eyes on the crowd. "Yeah… I don't think I've seen him this fired up before without losing his temper. It's pretty unnerving if I'm being honest."
"Yeah, but that won't stop us from being on top, right?" Kyouka asked as she gave her hero a thumbs up.
Izuku gave a thumbs up back and nodded. "Of course it won't. We'll all do our best out there and I'm sure that we'll all do great in the festival."
The four friends were now on their way to the station and we're about to exit the campus before hearing Momo call out to them. "Do you four mind if I ask you something?"
"Hm, what is it, Yaoyorozu?" Kyouka asked as she and the three other teens turned towards the tall girl.
"Do you mind if I accompany you all to the station?" The black haired girl asked as she bowed.
"Not at all, we'd be delighted if you joined us, Yaoyorozu." Iida said with a smile as he pointed at her with his hand.
"Yeah, the more the merrier, right?" Izuku asked, but was still a little confused why Momo was here since he was told nothing about lunch.
Ochako nodded as she gave a wide smile. "Yeah! Having more friends on the train always makes the ride much more enjoyable!"
The purple haired girl twirled around her earphone jack as she smiled. "Well, you heard them. Raise your head and let's go."
Momo smiled and raised her head before walking to the group. "Thank you very much. I hope I won't be a bother."
"There's no need to worry, Yaoyorozu. We're all friends here." The green haired boy said as they all started to walk out of the campus.
"Ooh, does having the class rep and the deputy in our group make us the most popular group in class 1-A?" The brown haired girl asked as her eyes sparkled.
"Why would you care about popularity, Uraraka? That should be the least important thing on your mind at this school." The blue haired boy said with a frown as he pointed his hand at her.
Ochako gave a sheepish smile as she held up a finger. "Well, being one of the popular kids is one of those high school dreams everyone has, you know."
"I'd be lying if I said I never had that high school dream when I was a kid. I would imagine that I was the number one hero at school sometimes." Izuku said as he rubbed the back of his neck, looking a little embarrassed. "But it just seemed impossible for my whole life."
"Well, it looks like that little dream is becoming a reality now. Just don't let all that popularity go to your head, Izuku." Kyouka said with a smirk as she gently elbowed her hero's side.
"I won't, I promise." The green haired boy said with a laugh. "But like always, you'll have to keep me in check."
"I think I will have plenty of fun in this group." The black haired girl said as she placed her hand over her mouth to hold in her laughter.
"I hope you'll enjoy it here." Izuku said as he smiled at Momo.
"I'm sure I will. But I better not see our class rep partake in any unruly actions. I'll make sure to keep you in line." Momo said as she crossed her arms, causing Izuku to pout a little.
Kyouka watched as Izuku tried to defend himself, saying that he would never do something unruly and that he always follows the rules.
She had to admit that she was feeling a little jealous, watching the two of them talk like this. However, the feeling wasn't nearly as strong as when Izuku was talking to Ochako and staring at her.
But she wasn't going to let her guard down around the other girl. It's possible that she could be as much as a threat as Ochako and she wasn't going to let anything slip under her nose like that. Especially with that body of hers, she could easily seduce any boy if she was that kind of type.
It's like the old saying goes.
'Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.'
A/N
And chapter 32 is done! Real quick I want to shout out vanelover_34 on Instagram because that's who created my brand new cover photo that's actually based on this story. Make sure to check out the artist's Instagram to see the image in its full glory along with their other posts. The art on that Instagram page is pretty great. A close friend of mine commissioned one for me as a late birthday gift which was pretty damn shocking. God it feels weird to have fan art of a fanfic I wrote, but I'm grateful for my friend and the artist.
To be honest, this chapter was mostly easy to write except for the first couple hundred words. I think because I was considering keeping/moving Kyouka's dialogue in the classroom, but I decided to do a bit of both.
I was going to make Kyouka be a lot more jealous and aggressive towards Momo, but I feel like Momo wouldn't appear to be as much of a threat as Ochako when it comes to her love for Izuku. But of course it doesn't mean that she's 100% comfortable with her.
Also, school has recently started back up so business will increase. Don't worry, I'll still do my best to update this story so don't expect updates only once a month. I won't be that busy.
But this chapter was also delayed because my friend and I recently started watching Evangelion together and we actually finished it all last night.
Next chapter will be the OVA so let me know if you guys have any suggestions. It'll mostly be a fun chapter and I'll be teaming up different groups of students until All Might attacks.
After that, it'll be 2 chapters of training for the Sports Festival and I know for a fact that chapter 35 will be very important.
Now onto the reviews!
Ability King KK: Yeah, I'm still considering what I'll do with her during the Stain arc. It would feel weird to just shoehorn her into the arc and no offense, but she'd be outmatched against stain in such a tight alleyway with how agile he is. I'm considering just having her do mundane stuff similar to Tsuyu in that filler episode and get stressed when she gets Izuku's location.
AngelicWisdom: Well it'll be a long ride, but I'm glad you're willing to stay during it. I like to keep the characters accurate to their show counterparts as much as possible, but not a complete copy of course as you can see with Kyouka.
papaprep: Yeah, I agree that it was a little dull, but I hope I can get better at these interactions as this story goes on.
Xerzo LotCN: Oh, her journals appear in more chapters while they're in the dorms. I've been wanting to give them more attention.
curlyboy01: I have some fun plans and there are other things I'm not sure about, but I'll ask about them in the future.
Kureer: I can confirm that she won't be there for the Muscular fight, she'll be busy with a certain girl during that fight.
Lockheart25: Eri is one of the characters I'm excited to introduce the most in this story. Along with Mirio, Camie, and S4 Endeavor of course. And the culture festival is one of the arcs I'm most excited for and one that I'll try to expand the most.
RPGuy777: It feels nice to know that this story was a priority over your other notifications. That's a real confidence booster.
Guest: 100 more chapters and they will! (Kidding! Or am I?)
GunBlade2020: Yeah, I'm going to be very cruel to Kyouka in the future and stress her the fuck out.
Naoto Koizumi: Whoa, it's seriously your favorite chapter? Thanks, it means a lot to know that someone has a favorite chapter in this story. Also, the rewrites were hell. I had them meet at a park, a food court, her house, in front of U.A, etc. And fun fact, I have the yelling dialogue saved in a separate doc to use in the future. Kyouka will certainly get angry at Izuku in certain events and that will be great. I've been wanting to do a one shot about the sludge villain aftermath, but I haven't even finished the one shot I'm already working on. The next attack is one of the moments I'm most excited for in this story. That will be very action packed and emotional.
Chuck Winanaki: Yeah they will have a frenemy type of relationship, but you won't see it in its full glory for a long time. It'll be very fun to write their dynamic. And hey everyone's allowed to ship what they want as long as it's legal.
Well, that's it for the reviews!
That's the end of this chapter! Please feel free to leave a review!
