The morning had felt long, Edward spent a bit more time than usual in the shower, followed by myself. Winry had been up for a while already and I finally put my 3/4 cargo green jeans on with my dark green tank top.

Winry and Alphonse decided to go to the market to buy some food for dinner tonight, though I think they really wanted to leave us two alone as they kept teasing Edward before they left while I was in the shower. I only knew because I could hear Edward yelling at them while I was in the bathroom.

By time I had finished getting ready, I saw Winry and Alphonse leave as Edward was slumped on the sofa, he looked annoyed as I peered around the chair,
"Are you okay?" I asked as Edward folded his arms, I chuckled and moved around to sit beside him, "Winry and Al annoying you?" I questioned, he didn't answer as I stood up and moved in front of Edward, "are you going to be grumpy with me too?" I asked as he looked up at me, Edward mumbled as I wanted to cheer him up, "It's a good thing they've gone out though." I smiled as Edward frowned in confusion until I put my leg on the sofa by his and leaned forward towards Edward as he blushed, I lifted my other leg onto the sofa and Edward lifted his hands out the way not knowing what to do as I straddled his body, "we can spend more time together." I smiled and sat down on his legs as Edward blushed furiously. I sat up straight and grabbed Edward's hands with mine, I smiled and moved his hands to my waist as I knew he was fine holding my body there. Edward looked over my body as my clothing were tight to me today, I normally wore loose tops and baggy trousers. "We've got the house to ourselves for some time, Ed." I smiled at him. Edward sighed and relaxed a moment, he looked away and then back at me with a small smirk. Edward's hands gripped my sides gently as he looked over my face. I rest my hands on his shoulders as I leaned down to kiss him, but soon after his hand moved under my chin and turned my head away so Edward could kiss my neck as his other hand moved around to my back and pulled me towards him as my back arched.

I moaned as I felt him bite my neck, Edward's automail hand stayed on my back while I felt his other hand move from my chin and down over my hips and he slowly moved back to my waist, and I felt his hand move under my top as I laughed a little feeling him tickle my waist. It tickled as he grazed his fingers over my waist and I laughed and bucked my body as Edward chuckled,
"You're very ticklish." Edward whispered as I playfully glared at him,
"You know that I am!" I snapped and his hand moved up my top and I felt it stop just below my bra as I leaned down and kissed him, his hand suddenly lifted my bra as if my kiss was permission to carry on and I felt his hand move over my breast. I moaned into the kiss as his finger grazed my nipple and I felt my body shiver from his touch. I gasped as Edward was so focused on me, every reaction I was making to his touch seemed to spur him on. Edward moved his face into my neck as his automail arm moved to my lower back to pull me into him, "E-Ed…" I groaned as I felt him smile against my neck as he kissed me,
"Is this good for you?" Edward whispered, as he trapped my nipple between his fingers and gently tugged, I tilted my head back as he smirked. "I guess so…" Edward mused as I blushed, I felt Edward's automail hand move over my ass and he squeezed it as his breath was still against my neck.

Edward moved his automail hand under my top and the cold metal made me jump as I froze and looked at Edward as he leaned back and smirked at me,
"You're enjoying this, I hope." I smiled as I took a breath as his automail hand reached under my breast,
"I'm enjoying seeing you happy, and like this." Edward smiled as I closed my eyes,
"Didn't think you'd be so, quick to pick this up." I explained,
"I guess studying helped." Edward smirked, I felt his automail hand move over my other breast, under my bra as I shivered at his touch, the metal against my body was something I'd never experienced. Edward continued to observe my reactions like he was studying me. It was driving me crazy as I leaned into his touch and felt something hard in his trousers as he noticed my body grind against him. Edward closed his eyes for a moment and removed his hand and cup it around my ass. I leaned down and kissed Edward as he then removed his automail hand from under my bra and top and grabbed the other side of my ass.

I relaxed as I pulled back from the kiss and smiled at Edward, I glanced down and saw his trousers were hiding something as I smirked and looked at him.
"Need any help with that Edward?" I smirked as Edward took a deep breath,
"Nah, I'm good." Edward replied as he lay his head back, I blinked in surprise, most men I'd been with over the years jumped at the opportunity. I just watched Edward close his eyes as he relaxed, he leaned his head back and stayed like that for a while, when I realised, he wasn't going to go any further I smiled gently and got off his lap. It was nice to watch him relax like that.

I went to my bookshelf, grabbed the book I had been reading recently and sat down on the sofa next to Edward and put one leg over his body as I started to read.

We were like this for some time as Edward fell back asleep, I didn't realise how long Winry and Alphonse had been out. I noticed Edward wake up a bit later and look at me reading,
"What time is it?" Edward asked,
"You've been asleep for a bit, so just after lunch." I smiled and continued reading.
"Are Winry and Al back yet?" Edward asked, I shook my head in response as I carried on reading.

"Good…" I heard Edward mutter as I moved my book as he suddenly moved to climb on top of me on the sofa,
"Ed!" I was surprised as he pushed my book away and came back to kiss me, I felt his lips touch my own again. I felt his hand immediately move under my top again and I moaned as he moved to kiss my neck again. I could barely keep up with him,
"What's gotten into you?" I laughed, Edward planted a gentle kiss on my neck as he stopped and looked over me as he moved some of my hair off my face,
"You." Edward simply replied as I smiled at him, he leaned back down and kissed me again as his hand lifted my top up, "I was just having a dream…" Edward murmured as he moved to kiss my neck again,
"About what?" I asked as I felt his hand move over my bra,
"This…" Edward replied, and he pulled my bra back and suddenly latched around my breast with his mouth as I gasped and felt his tongue role around. I dropped my book on the floor and arched my back as his body felt like he was grinding into me. I gripped onto his shoulders and put my hand on his head as I moaned quite loudly. I moved my legs up and relaxed as Edward played his hand on my other breast.

After a few moments he moved back and looked up at me with a grin on his face,
"Proud of yourself?" I ask as Edward leaned up and was kneeling on the sofa as I just laid still,
"Yep." Edward nodded as I was getting very frustrated, I closed my eyes and suddenly the door was barged open, and we both jumped.

I fell on the floor and pulled my clothes back down as Edward landed on his side on the floor with a thump,

"BROTHER!" Alphonse came crashing through the door, he stopped seeing us on the floor and stared for a moment as Winry came around, Edward was on his hands and knees as I managed to sort my top before they both saw me, though my face was probably red, "here…" Alphonse held a newspaper out to Edward who was still on the floor trying to catch his breath.

Edward took it from his hand and tried to cover his trousers as he looked at his brother,
"Don't scare me like that," Edward looked at his brother,
"The newspaper Ed. Read the front page," Alphonse ushered the newspaper onto Edward.
"What is it now?" Edward moved the paper read over it and a second later I saw a look of horror mixed with shock. "What?! 2nd Lieutenant Maria Ross convicted of Brigadier General Hughes' Murder!" Edward read out loud,
"You've got to be kidding me?" I moved next to him on the floor and looked at the paper myself, "Maria… she wouldn't!" I spoke.

I grabbed a jacket and Winry was going to stay as we went to find Maria, she was upset about the news but knew we needed to potentially get into danger so to stay safe, she stayed home. Leaving my apartment we walked out into the street,
"I can't believe this," Alphonse spoke,
"Well don't," I snapped,
"Maybe the Colonel and the Major will know something about this," Edward explained.

We made our way down the streets heading towards the military. I led the way so the boys could follow the short cuts and we ended up finding Maria with a suit of armour,
"Lieutenant Ross?" We all spoke,
"Edward, Alphonse, Reaka? What are you three doing here?" Maria asked.

A moment later Alphonse and the other armoured man pointed to each other,
"Oh! You're that guy!" they both yelled, I looked at Al confused, "And Ling too!" Alphonse added, we looked behind the others and saw Ling.
"Hey guys, what are you up to?" Ling asked,
"I could ask the same of you!" Edward yelled,
"Quit chattering!" the armoured man yelled, "We don't have time for this!" the man attacked us as we all moved out of the way.

"Alright sweetheart, take that back alley and run straight to the warehouse district, the darkness ought to hide you," the man spoke to Maria, I watched her look down the alley beside them as I took a sharp breath,
"Wait, hold on! Tell us about Hughes!" Edward called, Maria looked at us for a moment,
"Get going! If the MP's see you, they'll shoot you!" the other man yelled,
"Lieutenant Ross!" Edward called, as Maria ran off,
"Stay back!" the man spoke,
"No wait! Lieutenant Ross!" Alphonse called.

Moments later an explosion happened in the distance, I gasped and froze as I looked at the smoke over the buildings,
"What was that?" Edward asked,
"Looks like they got her," the man spoke; I sprinted it and ran as fast as my legs could carry me.

No! Please, I don't want someone else to die before I do! Please Maria, be ok.

I got to the scene and saw a burnt body on the floor, my feet feeling heavy with every step as I just stared, Roy stood over the body as I looked at him, I took a sharp breath in as I glared at Roy,
"Hey there… Fullmetal, Rea…" Roy turned around; I fell on my knees.
"What happened here?" Edward clenched his fists, "What happened here Colonel? Tell me!" Edward yelled, I felt my tears build up as I just stared at the body, I couldn't say anything… I couldn't believe what happened?!

"Why Colonel? Why was Hughes murdered? Why would Second Lieutenant Ross…? AND WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?!" Edward ran up to Roy and grabbed his collar; Roy punched Edward in the face as he fell to the floor.
"You threaten a superior officer? You forget yourself, Elric!" Roy snapped, I gasped in shock and stood up and walked away, this wasn't Roy… I moved away from the group and into the alleyway going back where we came from, putting my hand against the wall for support I fell on my knees again and started to cry properly.

Edward ran at Roy, and then Alphonse grabbed Edward, stopping him from attacking the Colonel.
"Brother, don't!" Alphonse spoke,
"I'm going to tear you apart!" Edward yelled,
"No! I won't let you!" Alphonse spoke,
"This bastard just killed Ross!" Edward glared,
"What? He did?" Alphonse was shocked. "How could you do that, Colonel?!" Alphonse asked,
"Maria Ross was a fugitive. Our orders were "shoot to kill." So, I did." Roy explained,
"That's all you have to say!" Alphonse yelled,
"About Hughes' death… I apologise for hiding it. But you do not argue against orders… or ask for explanations. Just follow them. That's what it means to be a soldier!" Roy explained, there was a pause as I could still hear the group,
"I suggest you look after Reaka; she seems to be taking this worse than normal," Roy spoke,
"Rea…" Alphonse spoke and walked over to me, I felt a jacket land on my shoulders moments later as Edward knelt in front of me, I just stared off into space, but I could see Edward glaring over my shoulder at Roy,
"Ed…" I looked up at him and his expression softened immediately as he pulled me towards him.

We sat there for some time while other officers appeared on the scene and started taking notes on what happened, Edward kept his arms around me as Alphonse stood next to us, I gripped onto Edward's shirt.

Alex joined us later and knelt beside me and put his hand on my back gently. We were escorted back to head quarters where they were going to confirm the body. I couldn't move, I didn't have the energy to do anything. I was just paralysed with grief. Edward ended up carrying me on his back, his arms around my legs and my arms around his neck as I leaned against him. Edward put me on a chair in the hallway as we waited for the results, my eyes were just staring at the floor waiting. Edward kept a hold of my hand as we waited though. Alphonse very kindly held my other hand as he sat next to me.

I was fed up with so much death…
"I'm sorry for not telling you sooner about Brigadier Hughes' death," Armstrong spoke,
"It's my fault," Edward bowed his head down,
"Don't be so hard on yourself, his murder wasn't you're doing Edward," Armstrong spoke. I pulled on Edward's hand as he looked back at me on the chair, I let go and forced my eyes shut for a few moments,
"Don't cry, please," I rubbed my eyes, Edward had a tiny smile appear on his face.

The door opened, and a doctor walked out.
"Is everyone here then?" the man asked,
"Doctor Knox," Armstrong spoke.
"Her body was almost completely destroyed but judging from what little dental work remained I was able to conclude that this is indeed Maria Ross. It's an awful thing you did, turning a beauty like her into a pile of charcoal. You must have held quite a grudge against her. Didn't you, Colonel? Is the vengeance as sweet as you imagined it," Doctor Knox looked at Roy; but Roy looked away. "The famous hero of the Ishvallan war going this far against a little girl, makes me sick," Doctor Knox walked away as I glared at Roy.
"Colonel, please allow me to apologise for one of my own officer's actions. I could have never imagined that 2nd Lieutenant Ross would commit such a heinous murder. She was so straight forward and earnest, compassionate, a truly fine officer," Armstrong then sat down on the chair next to him.

"Fatigue seems to be getting the best of you Major, perhaps you should take some leave. Back East where I was. It's a nice place. None of the big city noise, and lots of beautiful women," Roy looked at Alex, I took a deep breath and stood up quickly, my chair hit the back wall as I looked at Roy, Alphonse and Edward released their grip on my hands in shock. I'd never seen him look so cold and callous, but I saw him jump slightly as I walked down the corridor and stood in front of him. Alex stared at me; he was ready to stop me from any physical action I would take.

"I'm not angry… just disappointed in you. This isn't you. This is far from it." I spoke as Roy kept his arms folded and his eyes closed. "I've never felt betrayal like this before… but I guess it was bound to happen at some point." I frowned as I kept staring at Roy, "you talk about taking a break and seeing women to relax? You are a disgrace Roy Mustang." I spoke calmly and he looked up at me, his face was cold, but I was sure I saw hurting as he scanned my face.

I walked away and down the corridor as I was heading home, I heard Edward and Alphonse catch up with me. Edward took my hand; the brothers didn't say anything. They didn't need to… I wanted to get home…

After we returned, we didn't really explain much to Winry… but she had an idea of what happened.

I was sat on my bed with my back against the wall as Edward was in the room with me, he was laying on the bed with his head on my lap as I twirled his hair in my fingers subconsciously. I had my other hand on my lap as Edward was holding it. Alphonse was sat in my armchair in the corner as Winry was already asleep in bed.

I heard the door go and Alphonse got up, Edward sat up and we waited
"Who is it?" Alphonse called and suddenly we heard the door open,
"Edward Elric!" A recognisable loud voice boomed as Edward jumped off the bed and went to the room door and we saw Alex walk in, he punched Edward's automail arm and I gasped and jumped off the bed,
"Edward!" I called as I ran out and followed Alex out the room who was pulling Edward along,
"Major! What the hell did you do that for?!" Edward yelled,
"You listen to me, Edward Elric," Alex picked Edward up and moved his automail a bit, "Hmm, this is no good, your automail seems to be broken," Alex explained,
"Um, okay," Edward agreed.
"Yes, this is a serious situation indeed! We'll have to repair it at once. There's no time to waste, allow me to escort you to Resembool for repairs!" Alex explained.

I ran over to Edward and glared at the Major,
"What in God's name are you doing?" you asked,
"And you Rea! Are coming too!" Alex looked at me at my level shocking me somewhat. "Erm… care to explain…" I spoke as I frowned at Alex.

Winry walked out of her bedroom and looked between us in the hallway,
"What was that?" Winry asked,
"You're going back home to Resembool?" Alphonse asked,
"I have no idea what he's talking about Al," Edward explained,
"And you Alphonse Elric. You would stand out too much, so you remain here in central," Alex confronted Alphonse,
"O-Ok," Alphonse replied as Alex started to pull Edward and myself away.
"Right, we need to make arrangements for transportation right away," Alex explained, I tried to push myself away from Alex as he put us under either of his arms.

"Cut it out Major, put us down," Edward complained, Alex was carrying us under his arms without any effort.
"I'm afraid I can't do that, these are my orders… from him," Alex explained, we both looked at the Major in confusion then looked at each other and shrugged.

Alex took us to the train station and got us some train tickets as I stood with Edward to the side, I was a bit cold as we hadn't really got chance to grab any clothes before we left. I felt Edward's coat land on my shoulders as I smiled and looked at him,
"Thanks," I smiled as Edward nodded,
"Yeah, yeah…" Edward waved his hand as I smirked,
"So, when it's just us two I get to see a special side to you?" I questioned as Edward half glanced at me as I just watched him,
"Don't know what you mean." Edward replied as he folded his arms and looked away,
"Ahh, okay." I chuckled and saw Alex walking in our direction, "you're still thinking about this morning." I smirked as Edward looked away as I chuckled, "can't hide it from me." I laughed as I walked to Alex and grabbed our tickets as Edward was glaring at me.

It was going to be interesting to spend some time with Edward, just us two. It was going to be nice to get some time in Resembool as well again… I missed Pinako.
