Chapter 6: An Arrival Too Late
The dusky sunset was now a clear midnight blue, with stars having just started to come out and the city's lights flashing on. Kotori, Megumi and Nobara had finally arrived in Roppongi, the presence of cursed energy becoming stronger for Kotori's ofuda and Megumi's Divine Dog Totality to pick up.
"We should be getting closer to where Sukuna is holding Tsukiyama captive," Megumi said to Kotori.
"We are, but I'm worried about Kanao," Kotori replied, sounding concerned. "She could be anywhere in this city, and she's in danger with Sukuna around her."
"I wouldn't think too much about that," Megumi advised her. "Just stay focused on locating them."
Though Megumi was right, Kotori's worries about her best friend were hindering her from concentrating on being their navigator.
"I have a bad feeling that Sukuna would place the beads around Kanao, just as he's planned."
"That would be a no-win situation for us," Nobara said to her. "The Beads of Hisako are extremely dangerous due to their immense cursed energy, and if Tsukiyama wears them… there is a one in a million chance that Hisako will take over her body, making Tsukiyama her vessel."
"Well, that's why we have to hurry and find her now!" Kotori retorted. "There's no going back for Kanao once she has those beads on her neck!"
All of a sudden, the three sorcerers abruptly halted at the sight of five familiar figures standing in front of them. It was Mahito and his minions, and they had caught up to them after having also sensed the strong pulsations of cursed energy. To the sorcerers, this was a dreadful sign that it was now an obstacle in their rescue mission.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" Mahito crooned, smiling evilly at them.
"Shit…," Nobara cursed under her breath.
"It's Mahito and his hooligans," Kotori said darkly.
"Are you after the Beads of Hisako too?" Megumi questioned them.
"Why, yes, we are!" Mahito answered him. "It seems that you're not the only ones who are also looking for them. We believe that it was Sukuna who took the beads, when we arrived too late at the shop where they were originally located."
"And we want you to tell us where he is!" Hinako chirped.
"Never to the likes of you special grade jerks!" Nobara retorted crossly.
We don't have much time left, with them standing in the way, Kotori thought, leering at the special grades and Geto irately. We have to keep moving and save Kanao!
She pulled out her Divine Barrier talisman and hurled it at the group, a transparent light blue barrier forming above them. The cursed energy that was flowing inside the barrier acted as a shield, preventing anyone from escaping. However, the downsides of this technique were it had a two-minute time limit, and it could easily be broken by anyone ranked at Grade 1 or higher.
"Ofuda Technique: Divine Barrier!"
"A barrier?!" Jogo exclaimed.
"Oooh. I hate barriers," Hinako pouted.
"That should hold them off for a while. Let's move!" Kotori said to the others, and they immediately took off, with no time to waste.
A sinister smile soon formed on Mahito's face, indicating that he had something up his sleeve that could help him and his crew easily escape Kotori's barrier.
Those sorcerers won't take us down that easily, he thought of them.
Back at the derelict apartment in Roppongi, Sukuna let out a low sigh as he gazed down at Hisako, who was sound asleep by his side. Though they had recently reunited, they had to start from a clean slate because of their deaths from long ago. That could mean some work would need to be done for them. On the bright side, though, both Sukuna and Hisako had past memories of them as humans and they were the only ones that remained, even after having been sealed into their respective objects.
"Hisako…," he thought of her aloud, gingerly stroking her tresses. "It has been over one thousand years since death tore us apart. Before our deaths, we were mighty sorcerers who dominated in the golden age. We had everything: our marriage, our children… I even remember our first meeting like it was yesterday."
A flashback of Sukuna finding Hisako lying on the ground in front of her blazing village soon played, and she was the sole survivor of an onslaught that was carried out by hordes of cursed spirits. Her family had been slaughtered by them, and Hisako was told by them to escape just before the massacre. He offered her to come with him and train her to become a stronger sorcerer, and she willingly accepted, leaving the village with him by her side…
Other flashbacks that played in Sukuna's mind were their days of training Hisako to become a stronger sorcerer; their wedding day; and the births of Suzaku and Himeno. He also recalled him and Hisako raising their children to become sorcerers themselves, albeit he trained Suzaku under his tutelage and Hisako mentored Himeno. To him, they were just as memorable as their first encounter, and he would never forget them even having been incarnated into Yuji's body.
Once the flashbacks ended, Sukuna turned toward the window, gazing at the moonlight shining through the glass.
"It was all so long ago, but now, we're back, with new host bodies… and I'll make sure we won't be separated by death the second time."
Hisako groaned tiredly as she slowly opened her eyes, to Sukuna's surprise.
"Ahh. You're awake, Hisako?" Sukuna questioned her.
"I am," she answered him, crawling over to him. "That was a wonderful reunion, using our new bodies to make our sweet love for the first time in over one thousand years."
"It was," Sukuna agreed, as he draped an arm around her. "And you know what the best part was, to me?"
"Hmm?"
"That blowjob you gave me. I love it when you suck on me, sending me to heaven by making me moan and cry out your name in pleasure."
Hisako had a heaven-sent smile on her face as she recalled licking and sucking on Sukuna's cock, and hearing his delighted moans was what she enjoyed the most aside from her oral penetrations on him.
"Good," she said, sounding pleased. "I'm glad you enjoyed me sucking on your delicious cock, because that was my best part too. Though, I also liked you roughing me against the wall."
A lusty grin plastered on Sukuna's face, as he recalled thrusting roughly into Hisako earlier, and her strident moans of pleasure were music to his ears. He would love to listen to that more often, as because he loved to dominate her even though he also enjoyed Hisako sucking on his erect member.
"That's because I like it rough when it comes to fucking you," he explained to her. "I'm glad you enjoy getting fucked this way, so I'd love to do this to you more often. Although… you should also give me more blowjobs, even when you need to improvise on them."
Then I'll be glad to learn how to be more skillful when sucking on your cock, Hisako thought, a deviously lustful smile forming across her lips.
Willing to move onto another subject, Hisako snuggled close to Sukuna and moved two of her fingers up his chest, making them look like they were walking as she said to him:
"Tell me, Sukuna. Now that you have a host body, I'd like to hear your goals."
A confidently evil smile plastered on Sukuna's lips, and with a prideful tone of voice, he answered her:
"Besides taking complete control of that brat Yuji Itadori, I also want to kill Satoru Gojo and collect all twenty of my fingers. Once I do that, I will be completely unstoppable!"
Hisako admired her man's colossal phlegm, and she believed that he would achieve his goals in order to become the strongest of all the cursed spirits. A dreamy sigh escaped her lips, only for her eyes to widen in surprise when she was suddenly asked by Sukuna:
"Do you have any priorities, Hisako? You should know that I'm not your only one."
"Well, for starters, I would love to completely take over Kanao, just like you would to the boy," Hisako answered him.
"Yes, yes. Go on," Sukuna encouraged her, as he nodded to show that he was listening to her.
"I would also love to become your wife, and we'll rule over this city as king and queen, just as we did in the golden age. Everyone will bow down to us as their new rulers."
A smug smirk formed on Sukuna's face, as he visualized himself sitting on a throne made of human skulls and bones with Hisako placed on his lap. He could also hear himself laughing wickedly in front of a crowd of cursed spirits bowing before them, along with human corpses lying at Sukuna's feet.
"It would be cursed spirits that would bow to us, not those annoying sorcerers and non-sorcerers co-existing with us," he assumed. "I'd rather have these humans executed. Do you have any other goals you wish to fulfill?"
"Yes. There's one more goal that I have a strong desire to fulfill, my King."
Sukuna was intrigued to hear her answer, as he cocked his head slightly with his arms folded across his chest.
"I want to use Kanao's body to bear your children. I always loved being a mother back when we were still alive. Think about our precious two children I gave birth to over a thousand years ago: Suzaku, Himeno… they are said to be cursed spirits now, wandering in search of us after having perished to sorcerers shortly after my death."
"Ahh, our Prince and Princess of Curses," Sukuna sighed deeply, as he recalled the days of training them with Hisako to become sorcerers. "I miss them just as much as you do, and we'll do what we can to ensure we will reunite with them. As much as I'd love to see you become a mother in Kanao's body, that would have to wait for now, as we each have our own priorities to fulfill first. After I obtain all twenty of my fingers and we both have complete control of our vessels, I'll be more than happy to let you carry our children."
A small warm smile formed on Hisako's face, as she was daydreaming of her and Sukuna, happily married as king and queen with Suzaku and Himeno by their side, and a baby on the way… it would make her life complete if they would be able to get the family back together.
My darling King of Curses…, she thought of him with a dreamy sigh. We will start our family over again… and that will begin with finding Suzaku and Himeno.
Her fantasy self gazed deeply into Sukuna's eyes, and they locked their lips together into an amorous kiss, with joined hands placed on top of her swollen belly. Cherry blossom petals were dancing in the gentle breeze as Suzaku and Himeno were surrounding their parents, and once Sukuna and Hisako pulled away from their kiss, a warm smile formed on Hisako's face as she said her husband's name. In return, she could hear Sukuna say her name, gradually echoing…
"…isako. Hisako."
Hisako snapped out of her sweet daydream and turned to Sukuna, who sounded serious as he said to her:
"You're staring out into space."
"Oh, sorry. I was just daydreaming about our future," she replied, her face tinting a bright pink blush as she placed her hands on her cheeks.
She'll have to keep dreaming, for now, he thought to himself.
Once Hisako collected herself, she cleared her throat and said to Sukuna:
"Now, I'd like to ask you about our vessels, Yuji Itadori and Kanao Tsukiyama. I wonder what they think of us as cursed spirits in love?"
"I don't give a damn what the brats think about us," Sukuna answered her smugly. "They should keep their opinions to themselves, since they should learn not to judge a book by its cover. In fact, I don't even care about others' opinions about us—even those who are also cursed spirits. It's us against the world, Hisako, and we're going to conquer it together."
Hisako was moved by her man's answer, and she strongly believed in him. They wouldn't give a damn about people viewing negatively of their relationship, and their thousand year love would become strong again now that they each had a vessel.
As she leaned in toward him, Hisako gently cupped both sides of Sukuna's face with her hands, and she locked her lips onto his, sealing one more passionate kiss. Their skin was shimmering in the moonlight, though it was the only source of light provided to them in the room.
Once they pulled away, Hisako's glossy eyes gazed deeply into Sukuna's ruby orbs, and she gingerly massaged both sides of his face, her palms providing some warmth to his cheeks.
"Sukuna…," she breathed softly, as she moved her hands downward to his chest. "I don't ever want to lose you again. If you were to die, I would rather die with you than witness your demise in front of me."
"If we are at death's doorstep, then I'll slaughter those who threaten us, for your sake," Sukuna said to her, grasping her hand firmly. "That said, you should worry less about me and more about yourself."
Hisako's eyes lit up, realizing that Sukuna was right. They were both special grade cursed spirits, and at that rank, they would be able to take care of themselves.
He's got a point, she thought to herself, as she rested her head on his neck. Although I do love Sukuna to death, I should be more concerned about myself instead of trying to protect him.
Just as she went back to sleep and Sukuna draped his arms around her again, the sound of a door swinging open startled both of them, and they could hear the voices of Nobara, Megumi and Kotori coming from downstairs:
"They should be in here!"
"The strong presence of cursed energy should be located on the third floor of this building. We have to follow it."
"I hope Kanao is unharmed when we find them."
Sukuna snarled crossly, grasping the bedsheets into a tight grip that caused his fists to start shaking with fury. Just as he thought that he and Hisako were safe, he was wrong now. The three Tokyo students had finally been able to pinpoint them, due to the special grades' presences of cursed energy giving away their location.
"What's wrong?" Hisako asked him.
"Shit," Sukuna cursed under his breath. "They've found us."
The special-grade lovers were dismayed that their reunion had just been disrupted, even after their passionate intercourse they just had. When they would face the sorcerers, they would be ready to teach them the hard way about ruining their newly rekindled romance.
"That would mean I have to redress myself in that girl's childish uniform. Great," Hisako grimaced, leering at Kanao's clothes that were scattered on the floor.
They immediately climbed out of bed and redressed themselves, with time of the essence. Whilst placing her pink bra back on and buttoning her white shirt back up, Hisako said to Sukuna:
"After this battle, I would like to get a kimono that's fit for a woman."
"I'll help you find one, once we dress those bratty sorcerers in their blood," Sukuna replied, as he zipped his pants back up.
After having slipped her skirt and stockings back on, Hisako redid her hair, tying it back up into the same high bun Kanao would normally wear and placed the bao onto the bun. She then placed her shoes back on at the same time as Sukuna slipped on his. Alas, Yuji's jacket had been torn to shreds just like before, earning a low sigh from Sukuna.
"That's gonna cost the brat a fortune to replace that jacket," he assumed, shrugging his shoulders. "Well, too bad for him. I like exposing my bare chest, to show off my tattoos."
"And that makes you manly, in my eyes," Hisako cooed, her fingers walking onto his pecs.
That earned a confident smirk from Sukuna, and with no time to waste, they headed out the door and descended down the stairs that would lead them to the first floor, where the three Tokyo High students were searching for them.
The sound of a duet of footsteps grabbed Megumi's attention, and he and the girls turned to see Sukuna first, with Kanao's body right behind him. The moment Kanao's body emerged from behind, Kotori's eyes widened in astonishment. She was relieved to see her alive and well, but what sparked her concern was Kanao's body glancing down at the floor rather than at her friends.
It's Kanao! she thought of her. Thank God she's unharmed! But she's not looking at us. It's not like her.
"Well… surprised to see me again, Megumi Fushiguro?" Sukuna asked him.
Megumi glared directly at Sukuna, as flashbacks of his first fight with Sukuna outside the detention center played in his head. He also recalled Sukuna taking Kanao as his second hostage and making him choose between her and Yuji; he was able to save her, though Yuji died in front of him after finally switching back.
"Ryomen Sukuna…," he growled at him. "I'm not surprised to see you at all. This is no happy reunion, so I'm willing to finish you off this time."
"Kanao!" Kotori called out to who was supposed to be her best friend.
Unfortunately for her, this is not the Kanao she knew anymore. The moment her head finally lifted up, Hisako leered bitterly at Kotori, seeing her as an instant enemy to her and Sukuna.
"Don't call me by that wretched name," she warned Kotori, sounding dark. "I am Hisako, the bride of Ryomen Sukuna… also known as the Cursed King's Queen."
Kotori's golden eyes widened in horror, upon realizing that the beads were around Kanao's neck. Her worst fear had become reality; Sukuna had placed the beads onto her, making her Hisako's vessel as he had planned.
No… we're too late…, she thought, sounding devastated in her mind. Hisako has taken over Kanao's body!
Her horrified state soon shifted into a rage, as she glared at Hisako and shouted at the special grade, aiming a finger at her:
"You coldhearted wench! You switch back with Kanao right now!"
"I'm afraid that I cannot, for this is the perfect body for me," Hisako denied, smoothing Kanao's sides with her hands. "I'm grateful to have been revived by my darling King of Curses, after spending thousands of years being sealed inside of the beads. My broken heart has been mended by him now, and I'll be yearning to spend my future with him."
"Thank you, my queen," Sukuna crooned to her.
Witnessing Hisako and Sukuna exchange a kiss with one another made Kotori see red, as she clenched her left fist tightly whilst firmly grasping her ofuda in her right hand. She may had lost her best friend to the special-grade spirit, but she was determined to save her, regardless of the possible outcomes that would come after she would challenge them.
"Damn you… Sukuna…!" she snarled at him.
"Sukuna, you take care of the other two," Hisako said to him, as she glanced over at Kotori and a small smirk plastered on her fair-skinned, slate-swirled marked face.
"The red-haired girl belongs to me."
"That's exactly what I thought," Sukuna replied, grinning malevolently at Megumi and Nobara. "It'll be like the last time I took on Megumi, but this time, with someone else helping him. That should be easy enough for me to wipe them out."
"And eliminating the redhead will be a simple task for me," Hisako said, earning another enraged growl from Kotori.
That bastard Sukuna…, she thought of him. He's a bad influence on her! And he's the one who made Kanao wear the beads, so I'm gonna make him pay soon enough!
"Split up!" Megumi ordered, as he and Nobara lured Sukuna away to one room of the building. Divine Dog Totality pursued its master, ready to fight alongside him as it growled angrily at Sukuna.
Hisako soon took off, with Kotori pursuing right behind her. She was insistent to find Kanao within Hisako and bring her back, even if she would end up in a tight spot. However, she would have to be on guard due to Hisako's incredible power as a special grade cursed spirit.
Kanao… wherever you are, I know you're still in there, Kotori thought of her best friend. I'm gonna get you back by defeating this bitch. I swear it!
Nobara swiftly pulled out her hammer and two nails and crossed her arms across her chest, preparing herself for what would be a tough battle against the special grade controlling their friend Yuji.
"Bring it on, Sukuna," she said to him, sounding confident. "We're ready to wipe the floor with you."
"Good luck with that," Sukuna boasted, smiling menacingly at the two sorcerers. "Because I won't be going down that easily."
Nobara and Megumi both glared at Sukuna with determination in their eyes, and even though their priority was to get Yuji back, they had to take Sukuna down for the sake of their friend.
Elsewhere, Kotori was chasing Hisako up the stairs of the apartment complex, sprinting as swiftly as a runner in a marathon.
"Come back here!" she called out to her. "There's no use running away!"
"I'm not running away," Hisako snarled at her. "I'm simply taking you to somewhere that we can settle the score without any interruptions."
"Great idea. At least you won't have to worry about your man all of the time!"
"Sukuna can handle himself, as because he's ranked the same as me. And I'll show him that I can take care of myself, just like he can!"
The door to the rooftop slammed open, and Hisako was the first to enter while Kotori went right afterward. It had a steel fence all around the building, acting as some sort of shield to prevent anyone from falling. The moonlight provided a vast amount of light needed for the women to see, and Kotori could feel the wind blowing through her rust red hair as she approached Hisako and said to her irately:
"Listen, tramp. Sukuna is a bad influence on you. He's extremely dangerous, and he's a shady man who just wouldn't be trusted."
"You dare talk lowly of my King of Curses?" Hisako growled crossly. "Sukuna and I have been deeply in love for thousands of years, until death came and separated us. Now, we're back together again thanks to him, and it feels so good for me to be inside Kanao's body!"
Kotori let out a low growl, and she held out her Spirit Bomb ofuda and channeled her cursed energy as she declared:
"Well, I happen to like Kanao better, and I'm gonna get her back!"
"I'd like to see you try," Hisako said, a devious smirk forming on her lips.
Kotori's fury towards Hisako was burning significantly, and it was just as strong as her willpower to save Kanao. She believed that her best friend was on the line, and in order for her to get her back, she would have to defeat the bride of Ryomen Sukuna!
The battles between the Tokyo High students and the two special grade lovers are about to begin! Which of them will be victorious? Find out next time!
