Hello everyone! It has been some time now and before anything I want to truly apologize for the delayed update. Last year, life was a huge rollercoaster, but now that I'm beginning to pull everything together, things are beginning to calm down. Thank you all for patiently waiting!
Enough about me I hope everyone has been well! Hope you all enjoy the new chapter! I will be updating other stories and this one sooner especially in time for Valentine's Day!
"Here," Yi Jung handed Ga Eul a towel. Thankfully the rain subsided, and they made it to the car.
"What about you? It would be best if you got dried up too," Ga Eul replied with a concerned look that made Yi Jung smile as he took the towel from her hand and put it on her head, rubbing it against her hair. As he finishes up, he moves closer to Ga Eul's side, causing her eyes to widen as she moves back. Yi Jung couldn't help but deepen his smile as he reached for her seatbelt and buckled it in.
"Shall we get back home?" Ga Eul responded by nodding. She took the towel off her head and set it on her lap, looking over at Yi Jung, who was concentrating on the road. Ga Eul then turned to face the other side of the window, her heart racing, and thought to herself, 'Ga Eul, that was only a kiss; it probably didn't mean anything to him, don't get ahead of yourself.'
"Omma, we are home!" When Yi Jung noticed his mother's shoes on the rack drenched in wet muck, he paused before continuing to shout as he allowed Ga Eul inside the house. 'Did omma go out today?' Shaking the thought away, Yi Jung headed inside.
"You two are back already?"
"It started to rain, so we had to come back sooner than expected," Ga Eul replied as she avoided Mrs. So's gaze.
"Curse the rain; I hope you two still enjoyed yourselves and relaxed." As those words left Mrs. So mouth, Ga Eul's eyes widened, recalling their kiss. Yi Jung smiled at her reaction, but before he could respond to his mother, Ga Eul excused herself and headed to her room.
"So?" Mrs. So looked at her son, raising her eyebrow.
"So what, omma?"
"Sounds like you both had a great time. Anything special happen, that you want to tell me?" Before Yi Jung could respond, a man came running towards Mrs. So.
"Ma'am, you left your sunglasses in the car." When Mrs. So heard this, she quickly grabbed her glasses and brushed the man aside. Yi Jung turned around and watched the man leave. The pattern on the back of his shirt reminded him of a previous meeting. Yi Jung scowled and turned back to his mother.
"Why are you looking at me like that, son?"
"Omma, you didn't."
"Didn't what? I have no idea what you are referring to," Mrs. So answered in a cautious manner. Yi Jung's fears were validated by witnessing her condition. Ga Eul was being pushed and bumped into him by his mother's actions. Yi Jung shrugged as he passed Mrs. So without saying anything.
The following day came swiftly, and Yi Jung was unable to stop grinning. He had to get up early for a conference and was disappointed when Ga Eul wasn't at the breakfast table. Perhaps she was still asleep. After each meeting, Yi Jung's smile grew bigger as lunchtime approached. At his desk, he glanced through a file aimlessly while thinking back to yesterday. Was it the kiss alone, or the way he had left Ga Eul gasping for air, that had him smiling all day? The office door slid open before Yi Jung could get a response, and the sound of the door locking drew Yi Jung out of his thoughts.
"My. My. Aren't you a cheer bug today? Here I was thinking you would be upset since we haven't spent much time together."
"Ah… It is nothing really, just the projects are getting done so quickly and our meetings went well today!" Yi Jung responded by fixing himself; as he revisited the file, Eun Jae pulled it out of his hand and placed it on the table next to where she sat herself.
"Well then how about we celebrate?" Eun Jae kisses Yi Jung on the cheek while loosening his tie. Yi Jung grabs her hand that was on his tie causing her to give him a curious look.
"Sorry but I have a lunch meeting to attend, let's meet up after?" Before Eun Jae could respond Yi Jung left his office. Eun Jae shrugs off his behavior as she sits herself on his chair and begins flipping through files.
"Omma, where is Ga Eul?" Yi Jung questioned as soon as Mrs. So answered his call.
"Oh, we are about to head out for lunch right now" Mrs. So responded with a smile.
"Tell Ga Eul to meet me at the F4 lounge. The driver can bring her there."
"What why?"
"Omma, after what you did yesterday, I don't think you have any right to ask me any questions at this time. Also, you need to stop by the office and join Mr. Lee for a lunch meeting for me."
"Yah! Who are you to boss me around like that?"
"Well, let us see what Ga Eul thinks about your behavior yesterday-"
"You little brat-"
"Omma, I am ready to go." As she turns to face Ga Eul, Mrs. So smiles broadly.
"I am so sorry, but I need to run to the office for a meeting. But I asked Yi Jung to take you to lunch! He said he will meet you at the F4 lounge."
"Oh, no worries; please tell him not to be concerned about me; I'm sure he's busy today." Ga Eul flashed Mrs. So a smile which she was about to return until she heard her son on the other line.
"Text message to Ga Eul: dear Ga Eul do you know why we bumped into each other yesterday?" Mrs. So takes a deep breath after hearing this.
"No. No. Ga Eul, Yi Jung has already left work. He is delighted to meet you for lunch. So don't worry, it's not a problem. He said he'd be there soon, and I think you should hurry up. The driver will take you." Mrs. So pushes Ga Eul out the front door before she can respond. Mrs. So brings back her phone to her ear. "Happy? I'll be in the office in ten minutes."
"Nice doing business with you Omma." Mrs. So hung up the phone, but she couldn't help but smile. Yi Jung went to all this trouble just to have lunch with Ga Eul; nothing could ruin this day.
Woo Bin looked at the brown envelope as he sat in his room. 'What could be so important that I can't open it, and why do I have to give it to Ga Eul?' Before Woo Bin could deepen his curiosity, his phone rang which he picked up without looking at the caller ID.
"Woo Bin, you answered so quickly you must be starting to like me." Woo Bin's eyes widened as he recognized the voice on the other end.
"What do you want now?"
"Now that is the friend I know. Listen, change of plans. You can toss out the envelope. You don't need to give it to Ga Eul anymore. You can even open it but disregard it whenever you want. Alright I have to get going. Bye."
"Wait, wha-" Jae Rim ended the call before Woo Bin could ask any questions. Woo Bin threw his phone on the bed in frustration as his eyes returned to the brown envelope. He opened the envelope without giving it a second thought and extracted a collection of pictures. As he flips through each image, Woo Bin develops a deeper sense of curiosity: 'All these photographs are of Jae Rim. What about this is so secretive?' Woo Bin's phone rings once more, and this time he promptly takes it up after checking the caller ID.
"What?! I will be right over" Woo Bin replies as he shoves his phone into his pocket and rushes downstairs, leaving the pile of pictures in his side drawer.
"What do you mean she is leaving forever?" Woo Bin questions furrowing his brows and placing his hands on his hips. Ji Hoo stands up from the couch and stands in front of Woo Bin with a stern look.
"Woo Bin, what's the matter with you? Didn't you want her to leave? Despite being aware of your affections for her, you continue to push her away. She is returning to live in the US after I invited her back in the hopes that you would treat her better, but you simply made things worse for her. She claimed that no matter how hard she looked, she couldn't find what she had come looking for." Ji Hoo was irritated by Woo Bin's mournful expression as he sat on the couch after hearing this.
"Why are you being dramatic now? Is this not what you wanted? You can't even tell her the truth."
"Are you insane? You want me to tell her everything? Tell her how her life was almost taken because of me? Remind her of all the pain she had to endure because I loved her?" Ji Hoo watched his friend's eyes start to well up with tears while remaining mute. Woo Bin passes past Ji Hoo while turning his back on him and repressing his emotions.
"While the rest of you may have forgotten, I will never forget that incident. Someone who was after me abducted Jae Kyung. He used her to get to me, and while doing so, she suffered pain and injuries that caused her to lose all memory of the incident, which I was grateful for because I didn't want her to remember anything from that horrible event. However, the doctor warned me that if she did remember the incident's details, she might develop other problems or lose her memory completely." Woo Bin took a deep breath as he turned around to face his friend.
"I rather have her still know my name than deal with the pain all over again and forget me completely. This way is better."
"But how would she-" Seeing Ji Hoo go quiet Woo Bin turns around to see Jae Kyung walking up to him with Yi Jung and Ga Eul following up behind her. Before Woo Bin could question anything, Jae Kyung hits Woo Bin with her purse.
"Who gave you the right to end everything for such a thing? All this time I just thought you hated me. All those times I cried, was that not worse than just telling me the truth?" Woo Bin was hit by Jae Kyung's fists until he grabbed both of her arms and held them in midair.
"What are you doing here? I thought you left?" Hearing this, Jae Kyung pushes Woo Bin freeing her arms.
"Ji Hoo asked me to stay so I could hear the truth from you. I know everything and now hearing from you confirmed it. Did you really think it was better to leave like this? "As he turned around to face Ji Hoo, who shrugged his shoulders and sat down on the couch, Woo Bin was once more rendered speechless.
"Look at me I am fine after knowing right? Nothing happened to me and as long as you are by my side, I know I will be safe no matter what," Jae Kyung continues as she starts wiping her cheeks clean of the tears that had fallen.
"But-"
"Of course, if you really no longer want me then just tell me now and I will never bother you again" Jae Kyung waited for Woo Bin's response while standing tall and straight. Jae Kyung turned to go when she noticed he was standing silently, but Woo Bin grabbed her arm and pulled her into a hug instead.
"Just promise me it will all be okay. You will be okay." Jae Kyung smiled broadly and embraced Woo Bin's back.
"I promise."
Yi Jung turns to look at Ga Eul as he hears her sniffling, sure enough a scene like this would make her tear up, with a soft smile Yi Jung pulls out his handkerchief and hands it to Ga Eul. She hesitates as she takes the item and wipes her tears.
"Now that is all settled." When Ji Hoo stands up, Woo Bin punches him lightly in the stomach and says, "You had this all planned, huh?
"Well, I can't take all the credit. Ga Eul is the real person to thank, she convinced me that it was about time to tell Jae Kyung the truth because you deserve to find your happiness and she couldn't be happier to see you both together."
"Once you lose the one who was made for you, you will regret it for the rest of your life." Woo Bin turns towards Ga Eul as she finishes her sentence. Woo Bin walks up to her as she flinches thinking a punch was coming her way only to be patted on the head. "Thank you." Ga Eul smiles in response. Jae Kyung gives Ga Eul a hug thanking her as she returns to Woo Bin's side holding on to his arm. "Because of you we can finally made things work."
"Unnie, I just want you both to always be happy! Oh, and enjoy your vacation trip!"
Woo Bin stood shocked as he heard the words leave Ga Eul's mouth. "Vacation trip?"
"That was actually my idea." Yi Jung raised his hand as all eyes turned to him and he maintained a constant smile.
Yi Jung delivers them their tickets, saying, "I like happy endings and I know you better than anyone so this vacation trip for you and Jae Kyung would be fantastic for both of you."
"You are the best! No surprise Jun Pyo isn't part of this celebration-"
"Yah! You're very rude! Whose plane is carrying you on your journey?" Woo Bin observed as Jan Di and Jun Pyo came out of a closet. "Man, you are cruel; I was supposed to be the icing on top of all these celebrations."
Woo Bin beams as he extends his hand to shake Jun Pyo's and quickly hugs Jun Pyo giving him a quick pat on the back. Ji Hoo offers to drive Woo Bin and Jae Kyung to their plane as they all said their goodbyes. Ga Eul and Yi Jung were left alone in the lounge room when Jun Pyo and Jan Di made the decision to go out together rather than waste the day.
"We should head home-" Before Ga Eul could finish her sentence Yi Jung pulled her into a hug. "What you did for Woo Bin, I can't thank you enough for it." Hearing this caused Ga Eul's smile to widen.
"It was all of you who did something for him, I just suggested it. Nothing too special. I am sure you have a lot of work to do so I'll go home with the driver." Ga Eul struggles to break free of Yi Jung's hold, as he continues to hug her for a little while before releasing his hold and looking her in the eyes. "Shall we go out to lunch? I mean, it's time, and since I've already accomplished my day's work, it would be wasteful not to take use of it." Ga Eul nodded in agreement with his suggestion, and Yi Jung grinned even wider. In reality, he just wanted to spend more time with her.
Yi Jung walks ahead of Ga Eul towards his car. Ga Eul takes a deep breath as she looks at Yi Jung and then back at her feet. 'I must have really bothered him. Not only did he miss lunch but also left work early because of me. Now he has to spend even more time with me cause Omma probably wouldn't like it if he didn't. I wish I wasn't such a bother for him.' Ga Eul tightens the handkerchief in her hand as she feels her eyes tearing up but holds back her tears as she reaches the car.

"I don't see why you are so upset. We are just friends and we do not even like each other so why can't I date-" Before Ga Eul could finish speaking, Yi Jung gently pushed her against the wall, enclosing her in his arms on either side. Ga Eul felt uneasy because she couldn't figure out Yi Jung's motivations or where his rage had come from. Looking to the opposite side, she makes an effort to avoid making eye contact. Yi Jung keeps his eyes on her and uses his right hand to hold Ga Eul's chin and force her to look at him.
"I do not like to share what is mine" Hearing this come from Yi Jung made Ga Eul angry as she furrows her brows.
Ga Eul struggles to hold back tears as she continues, "You do not even like me, I am just a bother to you. I know we are friends, but I cannot help always feel you are being forced to be with me. So instead of being a burden for you I rather be with-" Yi Jung silenced her by capturing her lips before she could finish. It was quick peck as he moves back and looks into Ga Eul's eyes widened causing his lips to curve upwards into a smirk. Ga Eul was about to speak again when Yi Jung once more captured her lips, this time savoring her flavor and deepening the kiss slowly. As he drew their bodies closer, Yi Jung positioned his hand back against the wall, trapping her.
