Selim ended up taking us back to his home where King Bradley lived, I felt incredibly uncomfortable the entire time. I kept quiet and sat up straight while Edward and Alphonse did most of the talking. There was an aura about Selim that I'm sure I felt before… many years ago I felt like I was being tracked and watched every night and could swear I could see eyes in the shadows. That aura was similar to what I felt here, with Selim. Their house was on the same plot as Central Command, it was quite large and beautifully designed.
"How did this happen? We were supposed to be heading north?" Edward asked as we were all sat in the Fuhrer's living room with Selim and his mother,
"Don't look at me…" Alphonse whispered, I sat between the brothers as Edward kept glancing at me,
"I'm so sorry. It's just that Selim's been in awe of you for such a long time, Edward." Selim's mother spoke,
"Huh, me, really?" Edward asked,
"Selim, are you interested in alchemy?" Alphonse asked,
"Yes. My dream is to learn how to practice it. And after that, I want to become a State Alchemist just like you, Ed. And hopefully get a beautiful girlfriend like you too!" Selim smiled, I jumped in shock,
"B-beautiful…" I blushed and looked away, I didn't expect that from a child, it took me by surprise. "And then I'll be able to help my father out, as well." Selim spoke; I glared at Selim as Edward had a look of pity.
"Yeah, Fuhrer Bradley… Tell me, Selim. Do you get along with your father? You like him?" Edward asked,
"Yeah! Of course!" Selim smiled,
"And what kind of man is he?" Edward asked,
"An amazing man! His job is more demanding than anybody else's in the world. He spends all day, every day thinking about the people of this country." Selim smiled,
"Of course, he does." Edward spoke with a smile,
"The Fuhrer's duties must keep him very busy all the time." Alphonse spoke, Mrs. Bradley sighed,
"That is true. It's something he always insists upon. He's determined to work himself ragged. At his age, I'd prefer if he took it a little easier. It's nothing new, He's always been devoted to his work. That's what he's good at but then when women are concerned, I'm afraid he's a bit of an oaf. This first time we met; he made me so angry I actually slapped him." Mrs. Bradley spoke as we all froze in fear for what he thought about that, "But it worked out for the best. He asked me out after that, and our first date was amazing! Oh… sorry. Listen to me babbling like a little school girl." Mrs. Bradley chuckled as we smiled, it was nice to think that he may actually care for her… I glanced at Edward as Mrs. Bradley clocked me looking at him.
Suddenly the door opened, and we saw Bradley walk inside,
"Dad's home!" Selim smiled,
"Hi, dear!" Mrs. Bradley smiled,
"Hello, Daddy!" Selim ran over to Bradley and hugged him,
"Well, hello there my little one." Bradley patted Selim's head,
"What are you doing back home?" Mrs. Bradley asked,
"I had some free time for a change, so I thought I'd check in on my family. And I also happened to hear that the Fullmetal Alchemist, his brother, and girlfriend were paying us a visit." Bradley looked at Edward, I clenched my fists on my lap, I felt sorry for his wife and child, they had no idea.
"Hello, sir." Edward spoke,
"Long time no see." Alphonse added,
"Long time? I just saw you boys at Central Command, right?" Bradley asked, and then laughed.
Selim told his father about how he met us in the library and then invited us here,
"So, you ran into these three at the library, Selim?" Bradley spoke,
"Yep!" Selim smiled and nodded with excitement.
"Are you wondering why he doesn't look like us?" Bradley asked,
"No, sir. It didn't cross my mind." Edward put his hand up quickly,
"Well, it's because we aren't related by blood." Bradley explained,
"We were unable to have any children of our own. So, we adopted Selim and he's our son now." Mrs. Bradley explained and smiled gently,
"I'm proud of my boy. He's grown into a fine, devoted son." Bradley smiled,
"Would ya cut it out already, Dad? You're embarrassing me." Selim smiled and looked away,
"But it's the truth." Bradley spoke, as Selim laughed sweetly.
"What's wrong, Elric?" Bradley asked with a small glare, towards the group,
"Oh… uh, it's just that we never see you except at the command centre. So, this is kind of, you know…?" Alphonse looked at Edward,
"It's a side of you we're not used to seeing, that's all." Edward spoke,
"I see. But as you can tell, even a man like me has a family waiting for him at home. I'm sure, of course, it's quite different from yours." Bradley nodded, Edward looked upset as I sat up straight and took a deep breath, thinking about Winry and Pinako. Bradley stood up to leave as he walked around,
"Aw, Daddy, you're leaving already?" Selim asked,
"Yes. You know I have duties to get back to, Selim." Bradley walked up to the door and stopped, "Please, make yourself at home. You're welcome any time, State Alchemist." Bradley smiled back at us and then left the room.
After some time with the family, we got ready to leave to carry on our journey,
"Please, come back and visit us soon, okay?" Selim waved,
"We will. See you later!" Edward called as the three of us waved back. I started walking away ahead of the boys as I felt the aura going.
"It's sad. Neither Selim nor his mother know what Fuhrer Bradley really is…" Alphonse spoke, suddenly Edward took off.
"Come on, let's go! We're headed north. We'll catch that obnoxious little brat and make her tell us everything she knows about alkahestry!" Edward yelled, he caught up to me and grabbed my hand,
"Yeah!" Alphonse agreed.
"Wait… we need to buy warmer clothes… its freezing up north!" I explained,
"Oh yeah…" Edward agreed as he took off with me.
After getting the materials to make a warm coat, Edward, and myself both transmuted thick coats with fur lined hoods. My coat was blue, and my boots were also lined with fur, I grabbed my leather trousers and a long sleeve top. I packed my rucksack and we left for the North.
The train journey was going to be another long one, so I brought my sketchbook along again.
"Have you ever been to the North before, Rea?" Alphonse asked,
"Yeah," I nodded with a smile, "it's something else. The weather can be horrendous." I chuckled as Edward looked at me and smiled,
"You were awfully quiet at the Fuhrer's house." Edward spoke, I frowned,
"I feel sorry for them." I spoke quietly, Edward took my hand in his as he smiled at me, he didn't say anything more as I moved close to Edward, and he ended up putting his arm around me as I leaned on his body and closed my eyes. We had a long journey ahead and needed to rest.
The cold was bitter as soon as we stepped off the train, I put my gloves on immediately and my backpack securely over my shoulders. I felt the sting on my nose and the fresh air on my face as I took a deep breath. It was like I just ate a bag of ice with how cold my insides were from just breathing in.
Walking outside the station I smiled as Edward beamed at the sight of snow,
"Look! There's snow!" Edward smiled, he didn't have much of it growing up,
"It's definitely beautiful." I smiled, the winter wonderland always made me happy, I loved the thought of being in a cabin with a fire burning with a hot drink. I took a step on the first step and felt my body slip as I tripped and fell on my ass at the bottom of the stairs.
Edward and Alphonse burst out laughing as I got back up and rubbed my back,
"Owie…" I winced. Then a loud crack was heard as I cringed in pain, it also made Alphonse and Edward cringe. Tears stung my eyes, as Edward made his way downstairs to me,
"Rea?" Edward walked to my side,
"My tail bone snapped in half when I fell… and it just fixed itself…" I took a deep breath then exhaled and whimpered at the same time, "I barely ever break my tail bone but when I do it really, really hurts when it fixes…" I explained, Edward put his hand on my shoulder and gently moved it down and around my waist,
"Come on, let's find somewhere to sit for a bit." Edward spoke as Alphonse nodded, I held onto Edward as we found a small cafe.
We all went and sat down as I got over the pain,
"Man, look at all the snow," Alphonse spoke,
"Yeah. We rarely see snow in Resembool." Edward smiled,
"I've seen too much of it in my life," I spoke.
"Oh yeah, Al, Rea. Do you remember when it snowed heavily in Resembool when we were kids?" Edward asked, I smiled and nodded,
"Heavy snowfall? Oh, I remember now! We had a snowball fight!" Alphonse smiled,
"We made a snowman too remember?" Edward smiled,
"Yeah!" Alphonse cheered,
"I made the snow angel," I piped up,
"Yours was the biggest snow angel!" Edward smiled,
"That's because I was bigger than you lot back then," I smirked, "Now your both bigger than me," I laughed, and Edward smiled.
We all sighed and smiled, remembering fun times,
"Back then, I never would have thought that I'd come this far north…" Alphonse spoke,
"But here we are now." Edward smiled.
We started to walk around North City again and enjoying the snow in the streets,
"So, now what do we do? We still have a little bit of time before our train to Briggs takes off." Edward spoke,
"Why don't you grab something to eat?" Alphonse spoke,
"Eh, I don't know… I'm really not all that hungry. But… I guess we could look!" Edward spoke and then quickly took off running
"Hey! If you start running, you might slip like Rea did!" Alphonse called,
"Shut up!" Edward called as I chuckled and started to chase after the brothers.
We got a bite to eat and managed to find a trailer which could take us closer to Briggs. The man agrees to take us as far as he could.
After the smaller train journey, we had to get onto a small trailer for the rest of the ride, a kind gentleman was going by the path we needed to take and allowed us to ride on the back. It seemed to get colder the further north we headed. I sat between Edward and Alphonse as we sat on the back of the trailer, Edward sneezed loudly as it made me jump,
"Are you catching a cold Brother?" Alphonse asked,
"Ooh, I'm cold all right… That's Briggs for you." Edward spoke. The man stopped the car and looked back at us,
"All right, this where I let you all go." The rider spoke, I looked at Edward as Alphonse climbed off first. Edward offered his hand to me as I was last to climb down.
I looked around the forest and saw a mountain path as the man pointed at it,
"If you follow this mountain road, it'll lead you straight to Fort Briggs." The man explained,
"Okay, thanks." Edward spoke,
"And you in the armour." The man spoke again and pointed at Alphonse,
"Me?" Alphonse pointed at himself,
"Yes, you. Is that automail?" the man asked,
"No." Alphonse spoke,
"Oh, okay. Well then, you should be all right." The man started to ride off, we all stood there for a moment, confused at his question.
"What was that all about?" Edward asked, I pondered,
"Beats me," Alphonse replied.
"That's military land beyond the fence, so stay on the road if you want to live!" the man called back to us as he was riding away,
"Huh?" Edward and Alphonse looked confused,
"He's right… let's get moving before the weather gets rough." I started walking up the mountain path, Edward and Alphonse followed behind me as I pulled my jacket closed.
The air felt like knives on my face as the wind blew in all directions, I was ahead of Edward and Alphonse, but I felt my feet moving backwards due to ice from time to time. Edward yelled out in frustration as I looked back at him,
"I know they say the weather here changes quickly, but this seems a little extreme if you ask me…" Edward spoke,
"What do we do now, brother? We can't even see the road." Alphonse asked, he wasn't wrong, we had stopped a few times and lost our direction a few times due to the snowstorm,
"Relax. We'll be fine. Teacher said she was tossed out here for a whole month during her training. She survived!" Edward explained,
"No way! She couldn't have lived in this for an entire month!" Alphonse spoke,
"Sure, she could. She even killed a bear." Edward spoke,
"The bears around here are more than fifteen feet tall! There's no way she could have killed one of them!" Alphonse yelled, I sighed as I dropped my arms, I didn't have the energy to shut them both up.
I heard movement behind as Edward looked behind me and pointed with Alphonse,
"Bear!" Edward and Alphonse screamed as I looked back. The bear in question lifted his arm as I took a sharp breath and Edward quickly ran around and tackled me out of the way, a metal arm cut through the gust of wind and we saw a man,
"That's no bear!" Edward spoke. Edward pulled me up from the ground as a net suddenly landed on Alphonse,
"Alphonse!" Edward called, I looked at the man and recognised him as I was able to focus, Edward started to make his way around to Alphonse,
"I can't be bothered to fight with this guy again…" I sighed and tried to work my way around to Alphonse to help him out, I knew Buccaneer from my time here previously, he obviously didn't clock me yet.
"Hey, wait! Hold on a second. Isn't that a military uniform you're wearing?" Edward spoke,
"Well, it looks like some pretty mediocre stuff, but you have automail too, huh?" Buccaneer spoke,
"Huh? Mediocre? Just 'cause mines not tacky like yours?" Edward snapped,
"Fool! Obviously, you don't know a good weapon when you see one. This right here is combat automail model M Nineteen Thirteen-A: The Crocodile. Now, surrender peacefully, you miserable Drachman spy, or I'll show you exactly what this baby can do!" Buccaneer pointed at Edward as I could just about hear them.
I got to Alphonse and we both tried to pull the net apart, we also tried to find the opening with little time on our side,
"Brother!" Alphonse suddenly called; I looked back and saw the man throw Edward in the air and on his back,
"Edward" I called and ended up using my alchemy to rip the net. Alphonse got out as the man picked Edward up,
"Brother!" Alphonse threw Edward his head,
"Thanks Al!" Edward put Alphonse's helmet in the automail and jammed the mechanism with the tufted of Alphonse's helmet.
Edward jumped back,
"You okay?" Alphonse asked,
"This is bad. I hope I die here or else Winry's gonna kill me!" Edward spoke as he held his automail hand, it didn't look damaged as I shook my head,
"That wasn't too bad, kid. Especially with that ordinary automail you have. But it's all over now." Buccaneer spoke as I stood up and put my hands on my hips,
"What?" Edward asked.
Men surrounded us all.
"Great, oh come on, do you think a bunch of kids are spies mate…" I stepped forward and looked the man in front of me,
"Reaka?" Buccaneer asked,
"Buccaneer," I smiled with a wave,
"Get away from those spies!" Buccaneer grabbed me and pulled me behind him,
"Let me go you gorilla head!" I snapped,
"Stop calling me that!" Buccaneer snapped,
"I'll call you what I like snot face!" I snapped again. Edward and Alphonse were really confused. While I was here before I would wind some of the soldiers up. Some of the other soldiers recognised me but kept their guns trained on Edward and Alphonse as they moved in.
"Brother…" Alphonse spoke as we all saw a wall appear out of nowhere,
"A wall?" Edward spoke,
"Buccaneer, who are they?!" I recognised the cold voice up top.
"I'm sorry! I didn't see you there, General Armstrong! I apologize for the disturbance." Buccaneer stood straight,
"Suck up," I muttered, Buccaneer held his fist up at me with a glare, "Want one, do you?" I glared back with my fist held up,
"Try me," Buccaneer growled, to do well at Briggs, you had to have a sense of humour and be strong willed, because nobody else seemed to have a normal sense of humour.
"I'll ask again—who are you?" Olivier asked, "I'm the Fullmetal Alchemist. My name's Edward Elric. Major Armstrong from Central Command sent us here to meet with the general in charge of this post. Can you call off your guard dogs?" Edward explained.
"Search them!" Olivier spoke,
"But I'm with the military!" Edward was shocked as I stood by Buccaneer with my arms folded.
"Sure. But how do I verify that? Anyone can claim to be somebody famous." Olivier spoke.
Buccaneer grabbed my arm and pulled me away from the brothers as I looked at Edward,
"Rea! Hey! She's with us?!" Edward yelled, Buccaneer stopped and looked back at them,
"You could have been holding her hostage, she's better off coming with me." Buccaneer snapped as I went to speak but he then picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and walked through the door,
"Put me down you block head!" I snapped, making our way inside the building I was kept away from the brothers, I kept looked back for Edward and Buccaneer noticed my worried expression,
"What's with you? It's not like you to worry." Buccaneer frowned as I huffed,
"This whole song and dance is annoying, they shouldn't have to go through it." I murmured, as Buccaneer looked away,
"You know why she does it though." Buccaneer spoke as I nodded,
"Still… I'd like to think she trusts me." I frowned and looked back and just about saw Edward with Alphonse. I was suddenly dragged down another corridor as the boys were pushed ahead,
"Rea?!" Edward called as I glared at Buccaneer,
"What the hell? I want to stick with them!" I yelled and looked back,
"You'll be with them soon; she's going to speak to you first." Buccaneer spoke and pushed me in a room with a table and chair, the table had a hot drink on it.
I noticed it was hot chocolate as I sat down and held the mug in my hands,
"You guys remembered my love for hot chocolate!" I grinned, I started to take a sip as Buccaneer closed the door. I was by myself for a few moments as I sat back and stroke my finger against the mug. I hoped Edward and Alphonse were okay.
I felt my brow furrow as I sighed, the door crashed open and I saw Olivier,
"Hello, Ice Queen, long time no see," I smiled as I continued to stare at the mug, not fazed by her cold exterior,
"Why are you here, again?" Olivier asked,
"I'm here to help my friends, that is all," I explained, "Ask them the plan, I just go along with whatever Edward and Alphonse do," I added, "and it's not my place to tell you." I finally turned my head to meet her gaze.
A glaring match was set between Olivier and me.
"Fine," Olivier walked out the door and down the corridor,
"How do you do it Rea?" a guard asked, "I've known her since she was 3… Olivier was taught to respect her elders…" I smirked, the guards were very confused, Alex couldn't remember me, but I had met up with Olivier a lot during her life, she was something else.
I was taken out of the room by a guard so I could be taken to see Edward and Alphonse, as I walked into the mechanical room, I saw Edward sat on a stood with a towel on his shoulder connecting to his automail.
"Edward! Are you okay?" I walked over to him and knelt beside him as I held his face,
"He was almost fully exposed to the weather." Patricia, the female doctor spoke as I sighed and looked away,
"I completely forgot about that! I'm so sorry, Edward!" I put my hand on his back,
"E-Exposed?" Edward asked as I felt guilty not remembering that his automail could have really hurt him in the cold weather,
"Yes, that's right. You got lucky. You were close to getting frostbite." Patricia pointed at Edward as I looked at Alphonse standing behind his brother, "You need to be careful walking around in a snowstorm. The flesh that's touching your automail will freeze and you need to oil it… or it will stiffen." she continued,
"So does that Buccaneer guy have a different kind of automail or something?" Edward asked as I leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt guilty for not remembering this bit of information, we should have gone to Winry before coming up north.
The door suddenly opened, and Buccaneer appeared and walked in,
"It's no use, Doc. I can't get this thing unstuck." Buccaneer spoke as he lifted his automail and we saw Alphonse's helmet still attached,
"Hey! My head!" Alphonse yelled.
"I'll look at it." Neil walked out and Buccaneer saw me holding onto Edward and he glared at him. Buccaneer walked into the other room with Neil, and I looked back at the curtain blocking our view.
"Up here, your automail has to be flexible and lightweight. It also needs to be resistant to the cold. After some trial and error, we found an alloy that works. A combination of dura-lumin, carbon fiber, nickel, copper, and so on…" Patricia folded her arms as I stood up and moved behind Edward, he sighed in annoyance,
"And here I assumed it was just iron. It's no wonder I couldn't do anything with it." Edward growled as Buccaneer moved back around the curtain with a new arm attached,
"Hey, Doc… Be careful, are you planning on telling him all our secrets?" Buccaneer walked forward,
"Why wouldn't I? He's a State Alchemist. He has a right to know, doesn't he?" Patricia looked up at him as I wrapped my arms around Edward's neck from behind as he pulled his pocket watch out,
"You're kidding…" Buccaneer looked at him,
"He has the pocket watch." Patricia added as Buccaneer just glared at him, I leaned my head against Edward for a moment as he put his watch away and I held him.
"What's your connection to him anyway? You're not normally this close with anyone." Buccaneer glared at me as Edward smirked and I stood up,
"I'm with Edward," I smiled,
"You're working together?" Buccaneer asked,
"They're a couple." Alphonse smiled as Buccaneer suddenly glared at Edward even harsher than before as I blinked. Edward stood up and went to grab his coat as I just watched Buccaneer glaring at Edward, he then looked at me for a moment and then at Edward,
"You're too pretty for a runt like that." Buccaneer spoke as Edward suddenly snapped his head around,
"Who are you callin-?!" Edward yelled as I stood in front of Edward and he calmed down as I looked back at Buccaneer, Buccaneer suddenly stopped as I was looking at him like death and he stepped back.
Edward and Buccaneer were having a glaring contest as Patricia poured a coffee on the side as I stood with Edward and he put his clothes back on,
"If you're going to be in the north for long, you should switch to a different kind of automail. Do you have a mechanic?" Patricia asked,
"Yes, but she's in Rush Valley." Edward put his coat on as I folded my arms,
"And she let you come up north without explaining all of this to you first?" Patricia asked,
"Not exactly. I didn't tell her I was planning on coming up here." Edward spoke as Patricia walked over with the mug, he took it from her as I smirked, I knew what was coming.
"I'd recommend you send for her, assuming that you'd like to stay alive." Patricia added,
"Fine." Edward glared and took a sip,
"That'll be a hundred cenz." Patricia offered her hand up, Edward spat his coffee out as I chuckled,
"Seriously?! It wasn't even a good cup of coffee." Edward complained,
"This is the north. Get used to it." Patricia smiled and I walked around to pat Edward's back as he was annoyed.
"So, you come up here with mediocre automail, completely ignorant about the north and you try to bypass the command centre." Buccaneer spoke with his arms folded,
"Oh, come on! I hike up here, a State Alchemist with an official letter of introduction and this is how I'm treated?! What's wrong with you people?! Do you have no sense of propriety?! That general threatened to tear my arms off!" Edward screamed at the top of his lungs as Olivier opened the door suddenly.
"Hello, little red runt." Olivier spoke coldly as I covered my mouth, trying not to laugh as Edward looked positively terrified of her,
"L-Little… red…" Edward mumbled,
"If you have a problem, then now's the time to speak up." Olivier spoke as he stared at him.
Alphonse suddenly screamed as we all looked around and saw his helmet return to him,
"M-My hair!" Alphonse explained as the hair on the helmet was severely damaged as we all watched him put it back on, "It looks awful." Alphonse moaned.
Olivier moved to sit on a chair as Edward and Alphonse were made to stand in front of her, Miles was stood beside Olivier as I gave him a small wave from behind the brothers and he returned a tiny nod. I sat on the bed with my back to the wall as Olivier interrogated them.
"Well now. From what I hear, you two are close to my brother, Alex." Olivier picked up a photo on the desk next to her for a moment, "Is he alright?" Olivier asked, the brothers paused for a moment,
"Uh… yeah!" Edward answered,
"The big, strong guy we know and love." Alphonse spoke with a smile as I smirked, she hated Alex,
"Alex is doing just great!" Edward and Alphonse spoke together with a smile as Olivier suddenly looked very pissed off and angry.
"No matter. Never mind him. Tell me why you would bypass the command centre to meet me. I want to know it all. Including why your armour's empty." Olivier explained the two looked at each other and then at Buccaneer and Patricia,
"Actually… that's something we don't like to talk about." Edward explained,
"There's no reason to worry. Folks around here have plenty they want to hide. Everybody up north has something that he or she doesn't like to talk about. Everyone here knows about Reaka and her immortality." Patricia explained as I leaned my head back against the wall as Alphonse looked back at me for a second,
"But… if this information reaches certain ears, I could be court-martialed." Edward explained,
"Even I have secrets like that." Olivier was right, she did have a few. Edward frowned as he looked back at me for a moment, I smiled at him and nodded, Alphonse leaned down and whispered to Edward for a few moments as I was just out of earshot.
"What are you whispering about? Start talking now!" Olivier snapped; the brothers jumped.
They explained as much as they could without revealing the Homunculi and the other bits, I thought they did quite a good job of covering it up. Olivier sat there with the drawing of the little girl that I did and the panda that Alphonse did in her hands,
"I see. So, that's why you're looking for this girl with the strange cat." Olivier spoke as the brothers nodded, "I understand." Olivier put the paper down,
"So does that mean you're going to help u—" Edward started,
"I'm not done!" Olivier spoke quickly, "What I understand is this. You two are a couple of reckless wretches who cause trouble with every last thing you do! I don't want people like you in my fort. Honestly… How could the people at Central let these two run around loose? And you Reaka, I would have thought you'd choose better company than them. They need to get out of here right now!" Olivier snapped, I took a deep breath as the brothers just stood there, "At least that's what I'd like to say, but I'm interested in alkahestry. You three… You're acquainted with this girl from Xing? You've met her before?" Olivier asked,
"Yeah, we have." Alphonse answered,
"She has a skill our country doesn't, right? You can never know too much. Especially here in the north, where we're right next to Drachma. If we use it right alkahestry could make an excellent weapon." Olivier spoke, I moved off the bed and walked besides Edward,
"Wait a second! Alkahestry is specialised for medical purposes. You can't j—" Alphonse started,
"Be quiet! You're nothing but lap dogs, living safely within your city walls. But we are the ones who protect you! We few who are brace enough to defend the country's border. My job is far more perilous than yours. I will make use of any knowledge that I can get my hands on. Leave the task of finding this alkahestry girl to me. You three will stay here, inside the fort." Olivier stood up and put her sword sheath on the sword as she held the hilt, she took a moment to stare at me as I glared at her.
Olivier moved away and towards the door as Edward watched her move,
"And, Major Miles…" Olivier spoke,
"Yes, Sir!" Miles saluted,
"Put them to work." Olivier added as I turned around and looked at her. Olivier glanced back at me, "A man who does not work has no right to eat." Olivier spoke,
"You have a point." Edward and Alphonse spoke as Olivier looked at me as she turned towards me,
"Reaka." Olivier spoke, "Come with me." She spoke as I froze for a second, I didn't expect her to make such a request.
Edward looked at me as I sighed, I looked at him,
"Be careful around here." I spoke and the brothers nodded as Edward gripped my arm for a moment, I looked at him,
"You too." Edward spoke quietly as I smiled gently and then leaned to kiss his cheek.
"Move it!" Olivier snapped, as the brothers jumped, and I walked away with her and Buccaneer.
We made our way down the corridor, I followed Olivier and Buccaneer as they walked ahead,
"Those two boys haven't exactly had easy lives, General." Buccaneer spoke,
"I believe that they may have witnessed some carnage in their time, but I can tell that on the inside they remain soft and weak." Olivier spoke as she glanced back at me, "And what's more… they're still hiding something. Those two have a secret they aren't telling us." Olivier stopped and looked at me, "What is it?" Olivier asked as I put my hands up to shrug,
"As I said earlier, it's not my place to tell." I spoke,
"So, I'm right." Olivier glared at me,
"You may think that being soft is weak, but they're compassion and empathy has got them far in life, those two boys…" I smiled and put my hand to my chest,
"You think they'll make you mortal again?" Olivier asked, I nodded and looked at her
"They're the first people who have given me so much faith. Being with them I've been able to regain my memories of how I became immortal." I smiled as Buccaneer looked surprised,
"I'm glad." Olivier bowed her head down for a moment as I nodded,
"Where are we going anyway?" I asked, Olivier looked at Buccaneer, they didn't say anything as they started to walk again, I sighed and just followed them both.
