"Well, if it isn't the little girl who's parents I murdered in front of her…" Ridley spoke in a cold voice. Samus was shocked by this… how did he know who she was.
"That's right, I know who you are, Samus Aran. It's quite easy to listen into conversations when you're flying. The scientist is expecting me soon, for an experimental project of his. I quite like the guy. Shame I'll need to kill him. Can't risk the federation tailing me. Anyway, let's get the killing over with. Goodbye, Samus."
Just as ridley was about to strike, Samus fired the assault rifle, shooting his tail off.
Ridley screamed in pain, screaming as he felt a loss of motion.
"AAGHH! YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT!" Ridley exclaimed loudly, as he flew up into the air, slower than before.
Samus spat onto the ground. "And that… is what you get for destroying my armor."
She then shot another burst of bullets at Ridley, aimed towards his chest. He dodged the majority of the bullets, but not without having a few go through his wings. Samus then ran, as she was closer than ever to her ship. Escape seemed more and more likely.
But then, Ridley began to open his mouth, and it began to glow. A flamethrower of sorts from his mouth fired naturally, and shot out balls of mobilized fire. Samus wasn't hit by any, to her relief.
Until she realized he wasn't aiming for her, but rather, the trees surrounding her. A ring of fire began to engulf the trees around her.
"Nowhere to hide now, Samus! Do you fear death? Because you're about to meet him!"
Samus then did the unexpected. She backflipped, shot Ridley, and landed on the burning tree behind her. Her skintight zero-suit started to heat up, the cybernetics about to melt. So, she jumped, rolled, and ran away.
Ridley, still in shock, fell to the ground from the bullet in his wingbone. He walked away, hobbling towards Samus's general direction.
