Today was the day she had to meet with Lord Death at the school. Maka was scared to be meeting Lord Death face to face - right? It was going to be face to face? Or was it going to be Mirror to Face? According to Soul, who was with her, that sometimes you had to talk to him through a mirror. Maka was nervous about meeting someone like him. Her father was also with them because he was Lord Death's personal weapon, and it would seem he preferred to use a Scythe more than any other Death Scythe weapon.
Maka looked over at Soul and wondered if he was planning on becoming the next weapon. Well - Everyone here was making Death Weapons. Her father mentioned that the weapon had to eat 99 bad souls and 1 witch soul. Bad souls as he called them, because he didn't know how else to describe it to her. Maka wondered if Soul would have to start all over now because she was his new meister and the souls that him and Jenny got were - no longer good.
This was something that was troubling to her - she wondered how many souls he would lose because of this? She frowned - would it be the same? Would Maka be able to live up to capturing the souls that she needs to help Soul become a Death Scythe? This was terrifying for her - how was she able to get out there and feed him souls - okay that part was still a bit weird for her.
Soul looks just like a regular person - minus the pure white hair, red eyes, and the shark like teeth.
"Note to Self, Maka - ask Soul about the Shark teeth" Maka thought as they were still on their way to see Lord Death.
The group finally entered the room, and it was actually him. Lord Death was actually in the room - waiting for them.
"Why Hello there! How do you do?" Lord Death said - in a cheery voice.
"So this is Lord Death, much - more cheerful than I would've thought." Maka thought.
"Hello Lord Death." Maka smiled.
"So you are Jenny's Twin sister - Maka Albarn. You were able wield Soul here in his weapon form?" Lord Death Asked.
"Yeah - I'm still trying to get used to it." Maka admitted as she looked at him.
"Yeah? Well I believe in you - but as you should know Soul," Death was now looking at Soul. "As a weapon, your souls you have collected with Scythe Meister Jenny Albarn will be confiscated - that means all 90 Kishin Souls."
"Yeah I understand." Soul said.
"That is so not cool! We worked so hard to get all those souls!" Soul thought as he was beyond pissed at the moment.
"Now, Scythe Meister Maka Albarn, your mission to defeat Kishin's and give their souls to Soul Eater who is your weapon. From there, you have to collect 99 Kishin souls and One Witch Soul to turn Soul into a Death Scythe, my own personal weapon." Lord Death Explain.
"Right." Maka said as she looked at Death and then at Soul. 90 souls were collected with Jenny. She felt bad that Soul would have tp start all over again from the beginning with him. She just didn't know what could happen. This was something that she was worried about, she was new to this, how would she capture a Kishin soul? Hopefully Soul will help her with what she needed to when the time came.
"You two may go now." Death said.
Maka and Soul left the area as they headed back into the hallway as classes were being let out at the moment. So many students saw Soul and made sure to pass on their condolences. It felt strange for Maka to hear people talk about Jenny that way. Was she really such a great Meister that she known to everyone at the school? Maka was freaking out on the inside - would be able to live up to being the next Scythe Meister? Would be as good as her own sister? There were too many variables inside her head.
"Hey, Maka, are you okay?" Soul asked as he reached for her arm to pull her closer to him, as they walked down the hallway.
"Y-y-Yeah." She nodded as she looked around. "I-it's just that so many people must've known Jenny."
"She was pretty popular here."
"I just know people are going to compare me to her."
"Hey, don't let it get to you, okay?"
Soul was right. She shouldn't let it get to her. She was not Jenny, there was no point for people to compare the two sisters. She was her own person and that's how it was going to be. Maka looked at the faces of her future classmates, there were so many people. For Maka it was hard to know who was a Meisters and who was a Weapon. To her, they were all just people. Maka hoped that one day she would be able to know the difference. For her it was easy to know that Soul was a weapon because he told her, and there was one thing - his teeth.
Did all weapons h-
No.
Liz, Patty and Tsubaki were all weapons. They all had normal teeth. It was strange to Maka on why Soul was different. Maybe during her time here at the school. She'll meet weapons like Soul, who have the same teeth.
"Aka...Maka!" Soul dragged her from her thoughts.
"Huh?" She asked as she looked at him.
"I wanted to know if you...wanted to Jenny's room at the apartment.." Soul muttered. "It would be easier if we were together in case of an emergency." Soul muttered to her as he didn't want anyone else to know.
"Are you asking me to move in with you?" She whispers back.
"I mean - Yeah. I'm sure you want to leave your father's house." Soul said as he looked at her.
"I'll have to think about it." She said as she looked away from him.
"Did I want to live in the same house as my sister? Did I want to live in her bedroom? Did I want to sleep in her bed?" Maka thought as she walked towards the entrance of the school. "What am I going to do?" She thought.
"I can show you the way and show you the place if you want," Soul suggested as his eyes drifted to the sky, wondering if Jenny was going to give her approval. Like he could tell if she was ever going to. "I'm sure Jenny wouldn't have minded."
"Sure..." Maka muttered as she wasn't completely uncomfortable about it, but she knew that she would have to - one day be with her weapon. In case there was ever trouble, they were together and they could fight. Maka looked at the ground, was she even worthy of having Soul has her weapon? Sure, that they did that whole thing-so she was able to wield him, but he was still Jenny's partner.
Somehow, she hoped that Jenny was watching over and making sure that she was going to do really well. This was something that was going to start a new road for Maka. This was going to be the start of her learning that it will not be easy to be a meister. There will be a lot of roads that she will be in her way.
