Kyouka stood in front of the main window of the agency, looking over the city of Shibuya. Today's the last day of her internship at Crust's agency and by tomorrow, she'll finally be back at school and see Izuku again.

Nothing eventful has happened since that weird incident with the Condiment Brothers a few days back. But with how eventful it was before in Hosu, she's glad that everything's been so calm and quiet with the usual hero work she did during the first couple of days of her internship.

Since then, Kyouka had gotten the answers to the questions Izuku asked when she visited him at the hospital. Crust was more than happy to answer all of them to the best of his ability.

As soon as Kyouka got her answers, she immediately texted them to Izuku, to which he responded with lots of thanks along with a bunch of smiley-face emoticons. It was unlike him to use those so he must've really been grateful. After that, he sent a picture of his updated notes on Crust and the young girl was glad that she helped contribute to his amazing notebook.

'What a nice view. You know, I can see it now… Izuku looking over a city from his agency's window, ready to help anyone who's in need at a moment's notice. He should have the tallest building in all of Japan to get the proper view he deserves.'

The girl smirked, crossing her arms. "Hmph, I wouldn't be surprised if he stood on the roof instead so he could get a civilian quicker. He could break through the window, but he probably wouldn't want to cause trouble for anyone with a broken window. Or maybe he can get one of those windows that open outwards instead so he can jump out into the city…"

Her mind then wandered to an altered scene of her previous thought, this time Izuku carrying her bridal style on the roof before jumping down while holding her tight in his arms.

Kyouka slowly wrapped her arms around herself as she closed her eyes, getting a little too absorbed in the thought.

Spending every day going around the city in Izuku's arms as he kicked ass and saved lives before going home with him and his face being the last thing she sees before she falls asleep. It could be an everyday routine with the occasional day off. Maybe a vacation every once in a while if the crime rate is down. Now that sounds like an example of the perfect life for her.

Unfortunately, her fantasy would be cut short by a sidekick shaking her by the shoulder. "Angelbeat? You in there?"

Kyouka opened her eyes to slowly turn towards the sidekick with dead eyes, obviously not amused about her fantasy being interrupted so abruptly. "What…?"

The sidekick gulped, backing off to the other side of the room in a flash. "U-Uh, Crust wants to see you in his office right away! B-But I'm just the messenger so don't hurt me! See ya!"

Kyouka watched as the sidekick ran off, looking confused, not knowing what fear she unintentionally put into him. "Strange guy… But, guess I gotta go." The girl went over and entered Crust's office, waving at the hero. "So, what'd you want to see me for?"

Crust was sitting at his desk, smiling at her. "Angelbeat, I know it's your last day here and your internship officially ends in a couple of hours, but do you mind doing one more job? And this will be a solo one."

"A solo one?" Kyouka asked, twirling around her earphone jack.

"Yes, I was called by the local retirement home and they requested for you to come over and visit one of its residents. The retirement home is only a block away so it shouldn't have any difficulty." Crust explained.

"Are you allowed to send me somewhere on my own? This is technically hero duty, right?"

"It is, but I don't think of it as an issue if you're only visiting the elderly. It's an amazing gesture for us heroes to visit the elderly and sick children." Crust sighed. "It's unfortunate there are some heroes who do it just to get on the front page of the paper, but that's an issue I shouldn't comment much on. You know, if I had no self-control, I would tag along for this, but I think it's best that you handle this all alone. Keep in mind that this job is entirely optional and if you feel uncomfortable with it then you're free to decline. I'm only bringing it up because I believe this will be a good opportunity for you."

Kyouka cupped her chin, debating on whether she should accept this request or not. Personally, she didn't feel like spending her last few hours of her internship at some retirement home, but it's not like it's a big deal. It's something Izuku would surely approve of as well, so there are bonus points there.

Ah, screw it. Not like anything bad could happen there unless one of them is really sick and coughs on her. Now that would ruin her day and possibly week, and probably ruin retirement homes for her.

The young girl nodded, giving a weak thumbs up. "Yeah, I'll go. Point me in the direction of the place and I'll be there."

Crust gave a strong thumbs up, standing from his seat. "Thank you, Angelbeat! You won't regret this, I promise you!"

Kyouka sweatdropped and gave a fake smile. "I don't think I will!"

'You better not break that freaking promise!'

Kyouka stood in front of the resident's door, wearing her hero costume, and started to have second thoughts on whether she wanted to do this or not. It's not that she had anything against old people, but she just didn't feel like being here all that much.

It's not like it's a bad thing for her to feel like that. She'd bet that most people her age would feel the exact same. Well, except Izuku of course, but he's in a league of his own so it doesn't count.

Kyouka groaned, feeling more compelled to go through with it after telling herself that. It would be awkward as hell too if she just left the place after getting here just a few minutes ago. Crust would surely give her an earful, especially after coming this far.

"Might as well get this over with." Kyouka muttered, opening the door and entering the room before closing it behind herself.

Kyouka expected to see some old man or woman watching reality TV or something along those lines, but her expectations weren't exactly met.

The room itself was pretty standard with a hardwood floor, a floral pattern wallpaper, a single window that was curtained up, a TV that was turned off, and a bed in the middle of the room with a chair and nightstand near it.

There was a man sitting up in the bed, his mouth connected to a ventilator that was on the other side of his bed. It was a bit of a bizarre scene to say the least, but it wasn't because of his position or the ventilator.

The bizarre thing was that he was wearing a paper bag on his head, and a black suit with a white shirt underneath. It definitely wasn't the attire that regular residents of retirement homes wore. Unless TV and the residents she saw since she arrived here have all lied to her. There was also classical music playing on a speaker, which wouldn't strike her as strange at all if it weren't for his clothes.

'Why the heck is he dressed like he's about to attend a business meeting instead of a resident of a retirement home? Not the weirdest thing he could wear, but to each their own. At least the music matches it a little. But the paper bag does add to the weirdness a fair amount.'

"Hello, who's there?" The man asked, facing her and looking a little confused. "Nurse?"

'Is he blind under that bag? I thought people wore sunglasses to protect their eyes. Not a paper bag. With his age, I'm sure plenty of people have told him that, so it's not my place to say anything about it.'

"Oh, I'm Kyouka Ji-Angelbeat, and I'm here upon your request for me to come." Kyouka greeted, about to wave, but kept her hand down, knowing it'd be pointless.

"Oh, you arrived sooner than expected. The nurse told me about your arrival only a few minutes ago. It's wonderful to have you here so soon!" The man joyfully clapped.

"Yeah, the agency is just a block away. It was a short walk." Kyouka said before clearing her throat. "So, if you don't mind me asking, sir… Why was I requested to come here?"

"Ah, I was eager to meet one of the bright first year students from the U.A Sports Festival and I requested the nurses to look if any UA students are interning at any of the agencies nearby and luck shined upon me when I heard Kyouka Jirou was interning with Crust in this city." The man explained, his smile beaming at her before raising a hand. "But please, don't think I only chose you because you were conveniently nearby. In truth, I was quite fascinated by your performance at the festival. Whenever I heard your name from that enthusiastic commentator, my interest increased more and more. But it was the same with the likes of Katsuki Bakugo, Shoto Todoroki, and especially Izuku Midoriya. In truth, I would claim that both of you intrigued me the most. The two of you were absolutely outstanding."

Kyouka couldn't help but immediately feel a little more comfortable around this man, seeing as he just complimented both her and Izuku over Bakugo and Todoroki. "Oh, thank you so much for that, sir. We tried our very best out there. Too bad neither of us won though. Sorry if you were disappointed by that."

The man chuckled, shaking his head. "Nonsense! You two fought valiantly until the very end! Especially for being the underdogs in each of your respective matches that you lost. You wouldn't believe how loud my house became that night. We always become a lively bunch every year when watching the Sports Festival. An annual tradition you can say."

"Your house? I thought you lived right here."

"Oh, I'm a very recent resident of this retirement home. I only arrived here 6 days ago, in fact."

"Really? That's the same day my internship began. Funny."

"Is that so? My, what a funny coincidence indeed. I knew U.A was having their internships around this time of the month, but technically you and I arrived in the city on the same day. My boy is going to enjoy the story I tell him later on."

"You got a son?"

"Oh yes, his name is Tenko, and like his old man, he's always been a fan of heroes. It must run in the family, I suppose. He may be getting older and more mature, but I feel like an autograph from a hero will still make his day. That child's heart will never change, and I never wish it to."

"Wow, he sounds nice. Does he want to become a hero or is he already one?"

The man sighed. "Unfortunately, that isn't the case. He was born quirkless, so the dream of being a hero was never obtainable for him. He was very devastated when he was told the news by the doctor."

Kyouka's mind flashed to Izuku as she rubbed her arm. "Oh… I'm sorry to hear about that. How did he handle it?"

"Well, he spent a little while in a saddened state. He would lock himself in his room, put away his action figures and comic books, and stopped playing with his friends. For being such a little boy, I was surprised to see how sad he was. Seeing a child throw a temper tantrum is one thing, but seeing them not know what to do with themselves is another. I was worried he would never show love for heroes ever again, and possibly start to dislike them out of jealousy."

"But he loves heroes now, right? What changed for him? Did he just get over it?"

"No, it wasn't that simple. Everything changed a couple of months after he was given the news when he discovered All Might while I was watching him on the news one night. He saw just how much All Might smiled no matter the odds and that struck a chord in his heart. Since then, he decided to keep his head up and look toward the future. He wants to change this society for the better and I wholeheartedly believe that he can do it. I'm doing my very best to mentor him in any way I can, despite my current state in this retirement home. But the time will come when he'll have to become fully independent, and he'll have the chance to grow more than he ever could've with me holding his hand."

Kyouka smiled, hearing that All Might helped someone similar to how he helped Izuku when he was younger. However, she was also kind of worried.

What if Izuku never discovered All Might? She knows All Might is the one who inspired Izuku to begin with, but she feels like he would've wanted to become a hero either way if not from All Might, then from a different hero. But All Might was probably the only hero who could've given Izuku the inspiration to never give up on his dream to become a hero even though he used to be quirkless. She can't think of any other hero who's as inspiring as he is.

And If Izuku gave up on his dream as much earlier, they most likely would never have met with Izuku not having the sense of justice to help out a poor girl being bullied. He could've just walked by the crying girl without a care in the world. A world without Izuku wanting to become a hero sounded like an absolute nightmare and a world she would never want to live in.

"All Might seems to have that effect on inspiring others, huh?"

"He sure does. I don't want to brag, but I believe that I am his biggest fan." The man stated, giving a cocky smile. "After his world-famous debut in Japan, I followed every heroic action of his and did my best to collect every single piece of merchandise I could get my hands on. I guess you can say I have a man cave filled with his merchandise back home. Once my son gets his own place, I plan on entrusting everything to him. He can take care of that stuff in my place. But he better pray that he never breaks something that's a limited edition item."

"I don't know. I think a friend of mine can give you a run for your money on being All Might's biggest fan."

"You think so? I highly doubt it. I can already tell that your friend doesn't have a vast collection of merchandise similar to my collection."

"You only have that much because you've been around longer. And it's not like he's a working adult who can afford everything he wants. But for being my age, his room is practically filled with merchandise and that collection will only grow over time."

"Well, he'll just have to prove that for himself someday, now won't he? If he's such a big fan, does he know what All Might's true quirk is?"

Kyouka was taken aback by the question, almost slipping up with a 'yes', but managed to catch her tongue right in time. "N-No… But, do you know what it is."

"Of course I do... I just might be one of the only people in the world who does." The man smirked, clasping his hands together as the girl was starting to look a little nervous. "Kidding! I have no clue in the slightest!"

The man's smirk turned to a silly smile, shrugging his shoulders as Kyouka sighed in relief. "Oh thank god you don't… have any way to debunk my friend for being such a big fan. It is a worldwide secret."

"That it is. Whatever quirk All Might has, I would sure love to have it. Being able to have such an ability would be fantastic. But I'm sure everyone in the world feels this way. So my wish isn't all that special."

'If only he knew that the friend who's a bigger All Might fan than he is, actually has All Might's quirk.'

"Wait! It just struck me that I haven't even given you my name yet after sharing so much with you! That should've been one of the first things to tell you. How very rude of me." Kyouka jumped at the sudden exclamation as the man gave a small bow with his head. "The name is Kotaro Shimura. A pleasure to meet you, Angelbeat."

"O-Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is-Well, I guess you already said my name so I don't have to tell you." Kyouka bowed back at him. "I don't mind you calling me by name if that's more comfortable for you rather than just calling me by my hero name, Mr. Shimura."

"Please, no formalities here. Just call me Shimura." Kotaro waved off. "I much prefer having a conversation with a more casual feeling, Kyouka Jirou."

"You say that, but you're using my full name."

"My bad. It's a bit of a habit of mine to use someone's full name when I first meet them. I don't know why I do it to be completely honest, but if it bothers you, then I will be more than glad to stop."

"Uh, I guess I have no problem with it. Not the weirdest habit to have and it's completely harmless."

"Let us talk some more now that we know each other's names, Kyouka Jirou. Please sit." Kotaro requested, gesturing his hand to a chair right beside his bed. "There should be a chair there if the nurse hasn't removed it since she last sat there."

"Yeah, it's still there." Kyouka said, walking to the chair and sitting on it. "Hey, if it's alright to ask… why do you have that bag covering most of your face?" She immediately regretted asking, remembering that it's not her place to ask that kind of question. "Wait, uh…"

Why would she ask that from this man? It wasn't any of her business to pry into his personal life. Yes, she was curious, but now she couldn't help but cringe at herself for asking an ignorant question like that.

"I can tell you feel awkward asking such a thing, but there's no need. It's only natural these kinds of questions would pop up. In fact, I was asked this quite often when I first arrived here by the nurses and fellow residents." Kotaro tightly gripped the bag as the smile he had before slowly faded away. "I was caught up in a villain attack 6 years ago and I suffered massive injuries… I lost most of my face except for my mouth, and I need this ventilator to stay alive. Frankly, I'm lucky to even be alive. I was truly blessed that I was allowed to continue surviving and overseeing my son's growth. Don't worry, I won't show you my face. The last time I showed somebody, they lost all of their lunch. This is for my gain as well because I would prefer it if you don't throw up in my room. I may not be able to smell anymore, but you can say I'm a bit of a germaphobe and I can still taste the air a little."

Now that she took a closer look, Kyouka could see some heavy scarring above his mouth and on the sides of his neck. She could only paint a picture in her mind of what he must look like without a nose or eyes with the rest of his head being covered in those heavy scars. It was not a very pretty picture if she was being honest and a picture she didn't want to see come to life. Especially if it's worse than what she imagined.

"Don't worry, I don't really want to see it anyway." Kyouka bluntly said before covering her mouth. "N-No offense to you! God, I'm sorry about that. I should stop running my mouth."

"No, no, don't feel sorry at all. I appreciate your honesty. I prefer someone to be painfully honest than someone to be a liar that sugar coats everything." Kotaro spread out his arms, his smile returning. "I still believe that I live an amazing life regardless of my injuries. I have a beautiful and supportive family, and I live in a world that's filled with amazing heroes and quirks. I may not be able to see anymore, but listening to everything on the news and Sports Festival is something I can visualize with such splendor. I like to think that what I visualize is much more exciting than what's happening in reality."

"So, how did you imagine it?" Kyouka asked, hoping to hear the best details from Izuku's moments in the festival.

"I could go into extreme detail, but I'm afraid it would take a while to explain them all. For example, it will take me 30 minutes at the very least to describe the beginning portion of the obstacle race alone. But let's change the subject, shall we?" Kotaro snapped his fingers. "You know, you've been the one asking all the questions since you first got here. I'm starting to feel like I'm being interrogated here." He intensely pointed at Kyouka as if he was a defense attorney. "I believe I should be the one who becomes the interrogator now!"

Kyouka jumped at the intensity and nodded in obedience, feeling a little bad for not realizing how many questions she's been asking this man. "Alright… It's only fair that you do."

'Sorry about that, mister…'

"Don't worry, my question count won't be as large as yours. I think I'll go with three questions to make it simple for you." Kotaro cleared his throat. "First question, what do you want to do?"

Kyouka tilted her head, not fully understanding the vague question. "You mind going into detail? Are you asking me what I want to do with my life or what I want to do right now?"

Kotaro wagged his finger. "Ah, ah, ah. I'm asking the questions here, don't you remember? Interpret the question as you will. I'm not looking for any specific answer here."

Kyouka twirled around her earphone jack and lowered her chin, thinking about how to answer this question. She could give a simple answer and say something like 'I want to get through high school and become a hero' or 'I want to enjoy the rest of my day,' but those are definitely shit answers to give.

The girl soon raised her chin back up, finally finding an answer to give. "What I want to do is help my best friend become the world's greatest hero and stay by his side no matter what."

"Fascinating, this gives me the perfect next question to give you. Will you let anything get in the way of your goal and is it a goal that you'll possibly give up on one day? There are countless heroes in this nation, not to mention the world, so being the greatest out of all of them is going to be near impossible."

Kyouka shook her head without any hesitation, and she looked a little offended by the man's suggestion of giving up on her goal. "I won't. I will do everything I can to make sure my dream comes true and there's no way I'll ever give up on it. It may be selfish of me, but I don't care. To repeat myself, he will be the greatest hero in the world and I'll be right there by his side the entire time no matter what happens."

Kotaro's smile widened, looking very pleased by this answer. "Good. Very good. I can tell you have strong resolve in those words."

Kyouka blinked and touched her lips, not fully understanding why she answered so honestly. 'Huh. I didn't expect to say that much… I was just going to say no. Maybe I'm more comfortable here than I thought. At least he's not bothered by my honesty. I feel like most people would.'

"Now for my final question. I want to know, what would you do in order to protect the one you love? Just how far would you go?" Kotaro asked, facing straight towards Kyouka as if he was looking right into her eyes while the atmosphere in the room started to become heavy. "Do you have a hidden dark side that's waiting to be let loose from its shackles?"

Kyouka felt herself suffocating a little in the atmosphere as she took in his question, the words 'protect the one you love' and 'hidden dark side' mixing together in her brain without her realizing it. She never really thought about that much before. Just how far would she go in order to protect Izuku? Of course, there's no doubt in her mind that she'd bring upon hell on the person directly responsible for harming Izuku, but is that the extent of it? Would she be willing to go as far as to betray one of her friends? To let one of them get hurt or even worse if it meant Izuku's safety would be ensured? Or to do that to them herself?

But the most important question is, would she regret her actions in the slightest or not at all if it meant she was successful in protecting Izuku?

The girl's earphone jacks were slowly rising up and went stiff as if they were ready to attack somebody at any moment now while her hands slightly twitched.

Her mind suddenly flashed to Izuku's smiling face, and it immediately broke whatever trance she was under, all of her dark thoughts being flushed out of her mind.

Kyouka took in a deep intake of air as if she almost drowned, her scrambled and messed up thoughts slowly piecing themselves back together and becoming normal again.

The young girl was so caught up in the moment while trying to control her breath, that she didn't notice Kotaro's smile cracking into a smirk for a single instance.

'That had more of an effect than expected.'

Kyouka finally got her breathing under control and leaned back in the chair, her body now relaxed and not as tense as it was moments before. 'Dammit, I shouldn't be thinking like that. Why are these intrusive thoughts coming so suddenly?' She stared at the palm of her now still hand and moved her earphone jack a little, wanting to confirm that she's in control of her body. 'Those were just simple dark thoughts. Everyone has these kinds of dark thoughts every once in a while so no problem. Weird that it came out so intensely though… But what's also weird is why this man would ask a question like that…'

The man suddenly burst into laughter, completely shocking the girl. "Ha! I may not be able to see your face, but I can tell your reaction is a funny one! People never expect these kinds of jokes from old men like me so it's beautiful to catch people off guard!"

Kyouka snapped her head towards the man, absolutely dumbfounded by that serious-sounding question being a joke. "Th-That was a joke?! What kind of joke is that?!"

"I'm sorry, did my joke go too far? I love making those around me shocked about what comes out of my mouth. Forgive me if I made you uncomfortable." Kotaro somberly apologized, bowing his head.

"It's… fine." She waved him off. "But you're right when you say no one expects those kinds of jokes from someone like you. Maybe try to do them less often. Not the best habit to have. I prefer your habit of calling people by their full name."

"Alright, I'll see what I can do, but I won't promise such a thing. I can be quite mischievous, and I do take great pride in it." Kotaro playfully stuck his tongue out as Kyouka sweatdropped at that reaction. "I do feel sorry for tricking you like that, so consider that joke as my actual final question. However, I must admit that it was worth it."

Kyouka sighed, feeling mentally worn out from this past minute alone. "Haha… Sorry, but my sense of humor isn't the greatest at times. But it does exist, I can assure you."

"I have no doubt it does. You seem like the type to have fun with your friends, but also take things a tad too seriously if your emotions get the better of you. If a friend of yours jokingly flirts with your boyfriend, it wouldn't surprise me if you blew up on them. Hmm, that begs the question… Do you have a special somebody like that?" Kotaro asked, causing Kyouka's face to turn a bright red from both frustration and embarrassment.

"You said that joke counted as your final question, so I'm not answering that!" Kyouka yelled, standing from her chair and pointing at him.

Kotaro laughed out loud again, clapping his hands. "Oof, if I still had my eyes, you could bet that I'd be tearing up an ocean right about now! It's been quite some time since I've laughed that much in a span of a few minutes." He adjusted himself on his bed and recomposed himself. "You know, I'm satisfied with our talk. It's a good time for you to take your leave. I think it'll be time for lunch very soon if my internal clock is correct."

"Oh, okay. I should probably get back myself and get ready to go home with my internship ending soon." Kyouka said as she turned around to face the door.

"Before you leave, could you do an important favor for me?"

The girl turned back to him. "Sure, I don't mind."

"Come here please." He gestured to her to come towards him. "I wish to impart something very important to you."

"No problem, but what is it?" Kyouka asked, stepping towards the man.

'Does he wanna give me some heirloom, a recipe for some good food, money? I wouldn't mind some cash right about now. I could buy myself a snack on my way back to the agency. Or is that kinda fucked up to be hoping to get cash from an old man in a retirement home? Not to mention, it's an old man who lost most of his face from an incident… Shit, I'm going to hell, aren't I?'

"So, what do you want to giv-" Kyouka was interrupted as she felt the man's hand plant itself on top of her head. "Ummmmmm… Okay… Thank you?"

Kotaro chuckled as he continued to give the girl a head pat. "I'm sorry if you were expecting something materialistic, but I used to give these to my son right before he had a baseball game, an exam, and even before he went on his first date. I consider it a good luck charm and it has had a 100% success rate so I know that this will give you good luck as well."

Kyouka awkwardly laughed, not really believing this 'good luck charm', but she decided to play along anyway to humor him. "No, it's fine… I appreciate the good luck charm. The next time I get lucky, I know who to thank."

"You've been a wonderful guest, Kyouka Jirou. I'm glad that you came and visited this old man and listened." Kotaro said as he took his hand off of the girl's head and smiled at her.

"And you've been a great host, Shimura. I hope you have a good day." Kyouka said, smiling back and now made her way to the door.

'5… 4… 3… 2…'

The girl was right at the door and waved before reaching for the doorknob. "Bye now."

'1…'

Right as Kyouka touched the doorknob, she felt a strong throbbing sensation all over her head before placing her hand on it, feeling as if something was beating on her brain as her face twisted into an expression of pain and agony. "Ah! What is this?!"

"Are you alright?" Kotaro asked, concerned for the girl. "Please, take a seat if you must."

The throbbing sensation faded away as quickly as it came before Kyouka slowly and cautiously took her hand off her head and opened the door. "Yeah… Yeah, I'm good. Just a really weird headache."

"Please make sure to take care of yourself and take proper medicine if the headache persists or gets worse."

"I will. Thanks for the advice. Well… maybe I'll see you again sometime. It's been a nice visit." Kyouka said with a smile, leaving the room and closing the door behind her.

"Oh, I'm sure we'll see each other sooner than you think." Kotaro waved her off, his innocent smile transforming into a sinister one, betraying the kind demeanor he's been showing off ever since he arrived at this retirement home. "I sincerely hope Izuku Midoriya will be there as well. I'm looking forward to meeting the 9th and final holder."

Kyouka was back in her school uniform and held onto her case, standing in front of Crust's agency, feeling like she should have seen this coming. Crust and his sidekicks stood in front of his agency with a colorful banner stuck to the front of the building that read "GOODBYE ANGELBEAT!" as they all waved at her.

She looked at her surroundings to see everyone who was in that block staring at her and the others, looking very confused and weirded out. 'Oh god, people are staring now. This is much worse than when I first arrived here. They couldn't have done this inside? If their goal was to make me feel uncomfortable for a final goodbye, then they've succeeded…'

"We'll all miss you, Angelbeat!"

"Have a safe trip home!"

"How about you join this agency as a fellow sidekick once you graduate?!"

"Still a little miffed about my phone, but you've been great overall!"

Crust gave her a powerful thumbs up and a wide smile. "I truly hope you've had an amazing time interning under me!"

Despite all the embarrassment she was feeling right now, Kyouka smiled and waved back. "I gotta say that I did have a great time here. I learned a decent amount here and in the end, I'm glad I had my internship here." She looked at Crust and bowed. "Thank you, Crust. For giving me such an opportunity and helping me when I asked for it. You even helped inspire a move I might use in the future."

"It's no problem! I'm more than happy to help you however I can! If you ever need anything again, then don't be afraid to call my agency!"

Kyouka nodded at him, and she found herself surprisingly feeling a little sentimental about leaving this place.

This may have not been the agency she picked out purely for herself, but she had a great time here and learned a decent amount about being a hero. More than she expected after being so disappointed about not being in the same internship as Izuku.

But she'll get it right the next time if they ever have internships again. She'll watch Izuku like a hawk and make sure he submits his application before she does so there isn't another blunder. And if for some reason, he's going somewhere exclusive again, she'll give him and that Pro Hero no choice but to let her tag along with them.

Everyone continued to say their goodbyes to her while the girl started to zone out, wondering about what happened earlier.

The young girl touched her head, still curious why she got that sudden headache when she was leaving that old man. She's gotten headaches before, but this one was different. Abnormal even. The pain was so agonizing and was unlike anything she ever felt before. This may have been the most pain she's ever felt in her life. But another weird thing is that there was zero lingering pain after it passed, and she's felt completely fine since then.

Maybe it's just something she shouldn't think about right now. She could get it checked out at the nurse's office tomorrow or go to the hospital if it continues and gets worse. It's possible that it could be all that stress leftover from days ago with that Stain incident hitting her all at once, but why would it get to her at such a random moment?

There seemed to be no other explanation for her headache, so maybe it isn't worth making such a fuss over unless something else happens. It looks like she'll have to keep on the lookout for future headaches from now on just in case.

Kyouka returned her attention to all the goodbyes they were giving her, and they seemed to be about finished now.

"Okay, all of you, fire the cannons at the end of the countdown!" Crust ordered as he raised his arm. "3!"

The sidekicks readied the cannons. "2!"

Crust and his sidekicks gave the biggest smile their jaws could possibly handle. "1!"

Kyouka let out a small giggle at this ridiculous display as she covered her ears to prepare herself. She won't be caught off guard like she was the last time.

"Fire!"

All of them fired their confetti cannons, confetti now raining on most of the block, covering so much of the area and people that were watching.

Kyouka's entire head was covered with a blanket of confetti as she started to brush it off as she sweatdropped. 'Guess I was caught off guard by the amount of confetti that was in those cannons… But at least I didn't get scared this time.'

"ANGELBEAT!"

"Huh?" Kyouka finally got the confetti off her eyes and suddenly saw Crust charging at her as her eyes popped out of their sockets. "OH GOD! WHAT THE FU-"

Crust captured Kyouka in the tightest hug she's ever felt and lifted her up, the air being squeezed out of her lungs in an instant as tears streamed down his cheeks. "I'll miss you so much, Angelbeat! I know I've already said my goodbye, but just once isn't enough!"

Kyouka was limp in his arms and let out weak groans, looking completely devoid of life as all the color was gone from her face. "I-Izukuuuu…"

Her soul was about to leave her body before Crust put her down and released her from his hug of death. "Ah, that felt amazing! Don't you agree?!"

Kyouka's body returned to normal as she fell on her ass and took deep breaths. "I-I almost got squeezed to death twice in the same week…"

Crust laughed, grabbing her arm and standing her up with ease. "I apologize for hugging you like that again! But no harm done, right?!"

Kyouka dusted her skirt off and jammed her earphone jack into the Pro Hero's ear, causing the hero to fall down and shocking all of the sidekicks and civilians all around her. "You deserved that for two counts of attempted murder…"

"WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO CRUST?!"

Crust stood back up, groaning in pain before continuing to laugh. "You're 100% right! I definitely had that coming to me! That makes us even-steven now!"

Kyouka saw Crust hold his hand out to her before shaking it. "Yeah, that's right."

"You'll do great, Angelbeat. I wish you all the best and send my regards to that Izuku fellow as well. I'll keep watch over both of your hero careers as the years go by. I just can't wait to see what the two of you will accomplish in this country." Crust calmly said with a smile before letting go of her hand. "Have a safe trip home, Jirou."

Kyouka slung her case over her shoulder and nodded. "I will. And I can give my personal guarantee that Izuku and I will be great heroes. Keep your eyes peeled for us."

Crust watched as Kyouka walked away before looking at his sidekicks. "Now, let's clean it all up! I don't want to see a single piece of confetti on the ground by the time we're done!"

"Yes sir!"

Kyouka was making her way to the station, remembering how crazy, stressful, relaxing, and nice this internship has been.

'What a week.'

But Kyouka wouldn't find out until a couple of months later just how today's events would change her life, and how she would wish that she never went to her internship in the first place.

A/N

That is the end of chapter 50! This is the end of the internship arc and then we'll have a few chapters before the final exam arc. This arc was more enjoyable to write than expected, but I'm excited to get closer and closer to other certain points of the story.

I'm sure you guys can guess who Kyouka met in the retirement home. But I can honestly say that I had no plans to do what I did with him in this chapter until a month ago when it popped into my mind out of nowhere. Don't want to go into depth on why I decided to have this meeting, but maybe one day I will.

You know, I think I'm gonna cut the movie from this fic. I kinda want to quicken the pace for Izuku and Kyouka finally getting together cause I know exactly when I want it to happen. But who knows, I might still do the movie, but there could be a middle ground where I do a separate story for the movie. Still debating on that.

Review time now.

Ability King KK: She'll ease up on everyone over time. I hope. I want condiment King to be in a suicide squad movie so he can be an absolute badass there.

MythicalHirude: I'm glad I haven't died either and yeah I'm looking forward to continuing this story however I want. Yeah, she definitely would've been ugly if they weren't friends.

Bk201fan: Oh boy, I hope you're prepared for a bit of a wait then.

the only 95: Todavía estoy decidiendo cómo manejaré ese encuentro, pero estoy seguro de que me divertiré con él.

drake wind: Happy to see you have an account now. And thank you for the patience.

Parselmaster: Honestly, I very much agree with you that this story is weaker when it comes to covering canon material and that this story is kinda like the first draft in a sense. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to do a second draft at all(as much as I would love to do one) so this will be it once I'm finished with the story. At best, I'd rewrite a few past chapters, but it's a small chance of that happening.

That's all for the reviews!

That's the end of this chapter! Please feel free to leave a review!
