Sayuri looked in the mirror and smiled as she was busy brushing her hair. It was a very important day for her, she would finally graduate.
Being the great granddaughter of 2nd the second Hokage, Madara Uchiha meant a lot of eyes were on her.
While she enjoyed the privileges, mainly from fellow villagers and classmates who would always respect her, but it also meant she had a lot of expectations. Failure was not an option for her.
As she was done brushing her hair, she wore a red hair band on her black hair and wore her favourite outfit – a blue t-shirt with black pants and came downstairs.
"Morning" Sayuri told her mother as she came downstairs and saw her cooking along with her grandmother.
"You guys are making breakfast today?" Sayuri asked.
"It is a special occasion, sweety." Akihiko said and smiled "I cannot believe my granddaughter is graduating. Father would be so proud had he been alive."
"I am sure grandfather is very happy." Shuichi said and added, "Remember when you were 5 and wanted strawberry flavoured shampoo but all we had in house was green apple flavoured ones? You threw a fit and grandfather literally made us go buy the shampoo that you wanted."
"I was only five dad!" Sayuri exclaimed.
"And he spoiled you rotten. Wait, father also spoils you rotten." Shuichi added.
"Of course, I will spoil her rotten, always remember grandchild is more precious than your own child." Akihiko added and laughed.
While the three of them was busy talking, Megumi and Shika finished off making breakfast and serving them.
As descendant of Madara Uchiha, they had a lot of money, and with Akihiko and Shuichi holding important positions, they were very rich, so rich that they had four maids in the house.
Only on rare and extremely happy occasions Shika and Megumi would cook and today was one such occasions.
Megumi spoke "I made for my sweety all the food her favourite food."
"Thanks grandma, you are the best." Sayuri said and began eating her food.
"Slow down, you don't want to choke on the food" Shika warned her.
Sayuri nodded and continued eating the food.
After Sayuri was done, she quickly gave her grandmother a hug and went out towards the academy.
"Oh, how time flies" Akihiko said watching Sayuri leave, and Megumi smiled, "I still remember Shuichi as a little baby and now he had a 9 years old daughter. I feel so old."
Sayuri ran towards the academy and saw Kurenai sitting quietly and alone.
Happy, she immediately went to sit beside her.
"Sayuri, I am so glad you are here. I was getting bored that I started drawing random stuff." Kurenai said, showing Sayuri the drawings of random objects, which included multiple trees, birds, a dress, and flowers.
"They look nice." Sayuri said.
"Oh my God, he is here!" One girl screamed.
"So handsome!"
"He looks so perfect!"
Kurenai and Sayuri narrowed their eyes and looked at the source of the screaming knowing very well what it was.
Kakashi Hatake had entered the class and majority of the girls saved a handful started professing their love to him.
Kurenai and Sayuri looked at them weirdly. Surely, Kakashi was good looking and intelligent student, but his aura was cold and disrespectful.
"I don't know what they see in him" a new voice said, and the girls looked to the left and saw Anko sitting with them.
"Good looks" Kurenai answered.
"Oh, how charming. Take away that and he is a walking douche." Sayuri said.
Anko started laughing. They were the only girls in the class that didn't like Kakashi, they might not hate him but certainly didn't like him.
As the girls where busy talking, they noticed their teacher, Daikoku Funeno, enter the room with a list in his hand and multiple jonin ninjas with him.
"Hello students, I have good news for you all" Daikoku said, and the students got excited.
"Everyone passed."
This statement was followed with lots of cheers and that Daikoku had to shout "Quite" a few times to settle down the class.
"Now I will be announcing the teams." Daikoku said and began to announce the teams
"I want to be in Kakashi's team" was a common whisper among the girls.
"Team 7, your sensei will be Minato Namikaze. Now the members are Kakashi Hakate, Rin Nohora and Obito Uchiha."
This statement followed with a small "Yay" from Rin, "Oh no why" from majority of the girls and "Rin-chan we are in the same team" from Obito.
Sayuri and her friends on the other hand were happy.
"Oh, thank god he is not in our team." Anko said.
"Yes" Sayuri said, and Kurenai nodded.
Daikoku continued announcing the names "Team 10, will have Shikaku Nara as their sensei. The members are Sayuri Uchiha, Kurenai Yuhi and"
'Oh, please be Anko' the 3 girls thought
"Asuma Sarutobi"
The 3 girls sighed in disappointment.
"Well at least we don't have Kakashi" Kurenai said.
"You two are together, while I am not." Anko added.
"It should be fine, yes" Sayuri gave a re-assuring smile. Giving Anko a hug, the 2 girls joined their sensei and left the room.
Sayuri, Kurenai and Asuma where following Shikaku and entered one of the empty rooms.
Shikaku gestured his students to sit and the 3 genins sat down on the empty chairs.
"Since this is the 1st day, let me introduce myself. I am Shikaku Nara, from the Nara clan. I like to play Shogi. Now please tell me about yourself" and pointed at Sayuri.
"Uh, I am Sayuri Uchiha, and I like umm, fighting and cute stuff. I want to be a very strong kunoichi" Sayuri said.
"I am Kurenai Yuhi and I also like cute stuff. I want to be a very strong genjutsu user."
"I am Asuma Sarutobi and I like flowers" Asuma said and eye motioned towards Kurenai.
While Kurenai was distracted but Shikaku and Sayuri saw it.
'This guy has a crush on Kurenai? Well, he seems okay I guess, much better than that Hatake kid.' Sayuri thought.
Shikaku gave a smiled and said, "But your final exam is not over yet."
"What do you mean?" the 3 students asked.
Shikaku took out 2 bells and said "Today after an hour, meet me at the fields. Whoever manages to get the bells graduate else you all fail."
"WHAT?" and with that Shikaku left the 3 members of team 10 surprised.
"What will we do now?" Kurenai panicked.
"I saw form a strategy."
"But he is too strong" Kurenai reasoned.
"We should at least try."
"Wait, isn't the Nara-clan known for their shadow control?" Sayuri asked.
"Yes" Asuma confirmed.
"Shadow disappears during light."
"But light creates shadows."
"Yes, but he must not see that."
While the members were busy discussing Shikaku observed them from a distance.
'What a drag.'
After an hour, they went to the fields and saw Shikaku was busy waiting for them.
"Are you ready?" he asked.
"Yes sensei" the 3 of them said.
"Start".
Hearing that word, immediately Sayuri began charging towards Shikaku directly with a kunai.
"Rookie move" Shikaku said and blocked her attack. From the corner of his eyes, he saw Asuma and Kurenai were also charging towards him and he smiled and easily blocked them send Asuma flying away.
He went and took out his kunai and began to fight Sayuri with his right hand, while blocking Kurenai's punches.
He looked at the 2 girls and suddenly Sayuri activated her one-tomoe sharingan and both the girls casted a genjutsu on him.
"He is under a genjutsu." Kunai said and went to get the bells only to be kicked by Shikaku.
"How?" Sayuri asked.
Shikaku just smirked and then saw Asuma preparing a jutsu towards him.
He saw Asuma surround him with smoke and Sayuri emitting fire from her mouth, trying to create an explosion.
Shikaku had managed to escape but it did impact him a little.
He turned left and saw Kurenai, Sayuri and Asuma charge towards him. He laughed "Shadow Possession Jutsu" and captured them, preventing them from moving further only for the 3 member's to pop off and reveal logs.
"Substitution jutsu, not bad"
Asuma, Sayuri and Kurenai hid behind a bush and began to discuss, "How do we get the bells? If we attach directly, he will prevent us from getting it."
"We need a new plan" Kurenai said.
"Our genjutsu is not strong enough. I think he was prepared for this." Sayuri added and she felt Shikaku's presence.
"Quick hide!" she warned her teammates only for Shikaku to laugh.
"No need. Your test is over." Shikaku said.
Asuma, Kurenai and Sayuri got shocked and went towards Shikaku who said, "You all passed. The final test was a test about your teamwork. No matter how hard you tried, you could never defeat me. I wanted to test your teamwork and when you guys realise that your plan A failed and how to do plan B."
"Oh" Asuma, Kurenai and Sayuri said and then reality hit them.
"We passed?"
"We are officially genins"
Shikaku nodded and saw the 3 kids laugh and hug eachother.
After having lunch from Shikaku, he informed team 10 to come meet him at the same place at 9AM tomorrow for some team building activity.
Asuma, Kurenai and Sayuri nodded and left towards their respective homes, happy to announce how they passed the final exam.
Sayuri happily ran towards and the Uchiha compound while holding the flowers that she just bought for her family.
'I am sure, they will love this.' Sayuri thought and was so focused on the flowers that she didn't notice someone was standing in front of her and she bumped into him head-on.
"Ouch" Both of them said at the same time as they had fallen.
"Hime-chan?" Sayuri knew that she had bumped into Obito. Only he called her hime-chan.
Every Uchiha would call her hime-sama, for being Madara's great granddaughter and even Obito used to call her that initially. However, once they joined the academy, they became classmates and she told Obito not to use hime-sama as it sounded too formal and wanted to be called by her real name. Obito informed that it was rude to call her by her first name by someone like him and he would call her hime-chan instead. Sayuri agreed.
"Sorry Obito-kun" Sayuri said and got up and picked the flowers.
"Which team are you in? I got in team 7" Obito said excitedly.
"Team 10."
"Are you guys having the bell test tomorrow?" Obito asked.
"No, we had it today. My team passed." Sayuri said excitedly.
"So soon?"
"Yes, we only had 1 hr to prepare." Sayuri said.
Obito gave a big smile and said, "Now it's my time to pass. Also, who are your teammates?"
"Asuma, 3rd hokage's son and Kurenai."
"I got Rin-chan and Bakashi" Obito said and Sayuri started to giggle.
Obito looked at her confused and Sayuri said, "The name suits Hatake well."
"You think so?" Obito got all excited.
"Yes."
"Thank You." Obito said and gave her a hug that lasted merely 2 seconds and went, "I am going to prepare for tomorrow."
"Good Luck, Obito-kun."
"Thank you,princess" Obito said and ran towards the practice field inside the Uchiha compound.
