Izuku stood in front of a mirror, staring right into his own eyes as if he was having a staring contest with himself. He then flashed a wide smile directed at himself.

"Izuku, you can do this. Today will go swimmingly...Did I just use the word swimmingly? Could've sworn I heard Kyouka say that once..."

The boy checked out his body in the mirror, examining his clothes, unsure if she should change or not. He wore simple formal casual attire and thought to himself if he should lean toward more formal or more casual. But maybe this is a good balance?

'At the very least, this necklace works with this outfit. Then again, this necklace has worked with every outfit I've worn since I got it. Or am I wrong? I never had a good eye for these things. But Ashido seemed to think so when I ran into her last week and I can trust her opinion…Yeah, I can.'

Izuku glanced at the calendar on his wall, seeing the date.

Today was August 1st, Kyouka's 16th birthday, and he was feeling prepared to the max, unlike last year.

Well…he was physically prepared at least.

Mentally? He could be doing better.

Was it because today would be the first time both of their families would meet, or because this would be the first time he's celebrated her birthday while having romantic feelings for her?

Going back to the former possible reason, Kyouka invited his mom over for her birthday and requested a cake since according to her, his mom makes the best cakes she's ever had.

He couldn't argue with her though since he thinks the exact same. No one makes a cake like his mom.

But the more he thought about his mom coming to Kyouka's birthday, the less he thought that her coming would be an issue.

If anything, she can provide a distraction for his feelings toward his best friend.

And Kyouka's parents have always been amazing themselves, so he's sure that they will all get along great.

As Izuku quit worrying about how he looked, he turned his head toward his desk to see a small box that laid on it. He walked over to the desk and picked up the box before tossing it up a short distance and catching it.

"Is this the right gift to give her?"

He was fairly confident that Kyouka would like this. But he didn't know if it compared to the necklace she got him.

Wait, he shouldn't compare the two. It's something Kyouka would certainly frown upon. He has to present his gift with full confidence to make sure he doesn't become a downer.

It's no biggie. He's given her two birthday gifts in the past, so why should this one be any different just because he has feelings for her?

He just needed to calm down.

Izuku touched the pendant, starting to feel Kyouka's heartbeat.

It was odd. Feeling this pulse seemed to help calm him down. Even after working out, this pulse helped lower his own heart rate.

He felt her pulse at least once a day, but that's probably because of how new this necklace is and how fascinated he still is with this feature.

It wasn't weird for him to do, right?

He wasn't some creepy guy because he felt the heartbeat of the girl he likes on a daily basis, right?

Dammit, now he's beginning to convince himself that he might be a little creepy.

But if he could give himself any credit at all, then he could say that he really hasn't used the tracking feature except for the day after they came back from I-Island just to test out that feature.

It's not that he has no interest in her location, but he simply didn't see the need to know where she was.

As long as her heart rate doesn't abnormally spike up, or he doesn't see any reports of her missing, then he can continue not using the feature.

However, he'd be lying if he said that he didn't feel a little tempted to check her location every once in a while.

But that's pure curiosity speaking.

Like having the occasional temptation to see what would happen if you asked All Might if he had access to all of his merch and could possibly give one of each of them to you.

That's totally the kind of temptation an average person has.

After being done reflecting on his habits with his necklace, Izuku pocketed the box in his coat as he let go of the pendant.

It should be about time to head out now and hopefully enjoy a peaceful day with Kyouka and her family.

Kyouka sat on the edge of her bed, her fingers placed on her choker, feeling Izuku's heartbeat.

Ever since she gave him that necklace, she would check his heartbeat multiple times a day and feel it for a more prolonged period at night. This lasted until she had to take off her choker to sleep or shower, or until he took off his necklace.

It was a fun little routine that she planned to continue every day. At least until the day they get to live together, sleep in the same bed, and then she can feel his heartbeat every night from the source instead of through her choker.

Perfectly normal things to think about.

Meanwhile, on her other hand, she held her phone and the FMH app was open. She glanced at it to see that Izuku was making his way over to her house and should be here soon enough.

This app has been a godsend in the past 2 weeks. Seeing that Izuku was constantly safe at home, paired with feeling his heartbeat.

Whenever his heartbeat went up to high levels, she never worried about how much he worked out, considering she was very familiar with his routine.

And it doesn't seem like he has been going overboard either, so she's been relatively stress-free these past 2 weeks.

Well, there was a time she was worried last week when she saw Izuku out of the house and was in a cafe which was a little unusual for him. So, she messaged him to ask what he was doing, trying to pass herself off as a curious friend.

He informed her that he ran into Mina, and they were eating at a café together.

Kyouka almost crushed her phone when she learned that, her mind instantly taking that as some kind of date.

Later, she "coincidentally" appeared at that same café not long after, acting like she was already in the area.

The three of them then proceeded to a relaxing time together. Well…Mina wasn't so relaxed, feeling the café get so much chillier after Kyouka walked in.

But since then, absolutely no abnormalities in his heartbeat or location. It's all been smooth sailing.

Kyouka finally stood up and took her hand off her choker and looked in her mirror, checking out her clothing to see that she was wearing formal casual attire.

It's attractive enough, right? Not too attractive to where her dad will flip his lid, but also not barely attractive to where Izuku won't even notice her.

'Should I change? Wear something more revealing? Or less revealing? A different color? No, no, this should be fine. It's perfectly appropriate for celebrating my birthday with parents around. But if no other adults were around, maybe I could have on the good old-fashioned birthday sui-'

The sound of the doorbell downstairs broke her out of her thoughts as the young girl snapped her head toward her door. "They're here already? Damn, guess I was lost in my thoughts longer than I thought."

Downstairs, Mika walked over to the front door before opening it. She was greeted by the sight of Inko standing there.

"Hello. It's safe to assume that you're Kyouka Jirou's mother, correct?" Inko asked with a bright smile on her face, but it was clear that the woman was nervous from how her lips were slightly quivering.

Mika gave a warm smile, nodding. "We are, yes. That must make you the mother of Izuku Midoriya."

"Did I sound that silly?" Inko sweatdropped as she watched Mika let out a small giggle. "Gosh, I hope I'm not a bother already."

"Nonsense. You're not a bother. Your company is welcome here. To be frank, we've been excited to meet the mother who's raised such a respectful boy."

Inko gave a small bow. "I'm happy to hear that my son has been respectful to you."

"No need to doubt me, Mom." Izuku approached his mom from behind, holding a bakery box. "I owe you for teaching me manners." His eyes moved over to Mika. "Good evening, Mrs. Jirou."

"You don't have to be formal with me. You're our daughter's best friend, so it's Mika to you." Mika looked over at Inko. "The same goes for you. I'd like the two of us to start off as friendly as possible."

"H-Huh? Are you sure?" Both mother and son asked at the same time.

Mika bursted into laughter, placing her hand on her chest. "I can already see the family resemblance other than the green hair!" Her laughter quickly died down as she wiped away a tear. "But yes, we can all be on a first-name basis. I'm also speaking on my husband's behalf."

"What on my behalf?!" A man's voice shouted from inside the house.

Izuku and Inko were about to greet the voice, but a piece of cloth was shot right onto Izuku's face at the speed of a bullet.

The force of the shot sent Izuku falling backwards, the box flying out of his hands. Luckily, Inko caught it right on time, but there was no one to catch the boy as he fell onto the ground with a thud.

But he only had one concern right now.

"Is the cake alright?"

Inko looked down at her son as she gasped. "Are you alright, sweetie? But yes, the cake is just fine."

"That's a relief…" Izuku's eyes went pure white as he fell unconscious.

Before Inko or Mika could check up on the boy, a flash of purple ran past the women and Kyouka was suddenly kneeling at Izuku's side.

"Izuku, what happened to you?!" Kyouka took the piece of cloth off of his face and tossed it to the side, seeing his white eyes as she let out a gasp.

Inside the house, Kyoutoku looked down at the t-shirt cannon in his hands before looking forward at Izuku's downed body.

"…I sense an error has been made."

He could see a dark aura beginning to slowly envelop his wife and daughter before his body went into a panic.

He fumbled the cannon around in his hands, trying to figure out what to do with it, as his wife and daughter slowly turned their heads toward him.

'Do I destroy the evidence?! Make a run for it?! Wait, I got it!'

When Mika and Kyouka had fully turned their heads, they saw Kyoutoku whistling innocently beside a speaker with the t-shirt cannon on top of it.

"Kyoutoku/Dad?"

He pretended to just now notice them. "Yeah, girls?"

Kyouka gently closed Izuku's eyes with her hand before standing up and dusting off her knees. "Can I ask who used that t-shirt cannon?"

Kyoutoku looked to the side to see the cannon on the speaker. "Oh, what's this old thing doing here? Don't know who could've used it. But I heard that ghosts have a tendency to commit mischievous actions."

Mika crossed her arms. "Ghosts? You mean to say a ghost shot this boy? Now, why would this ghost do that?"

"Maybe Kyouka decided to curse us by saying its name three times. Don't look at me, I can't control the actions of our troublesome daughter." He shrugged his shoulders, having a complete poker face on, but it was contradicted by the sweat running down his face.

"I summoned a ghost? Me?" Kyouka started to make her way to her dad, taking slow, small steps. "Now, what kind of name could I have said to summon it?"

"Ummm…Beetlejuice."

Mika started to make her way to Kyoutoku as well. "Beetlejuice? What an interesting name. Almost like the movie we watched last Halloween. I didn't know it was based on a true story."

Kyoutoku backed up until his back hit the cabinet of records. "Sometimes the craziest stories end up being true."

Kyouka's earphone jacks rose. "You know, you might be right."

"I might? I-I mean, course I am."

"Yes, I remember seeing that story too. But the ending of that story didn't end well for the father." Mika and her daughter were now right in front of the man.

Kyoutoku's body slowly slid down until his butt was now planted onto the floor. "...Oh no."

The two most important women in his life were looking down on him, fists clenching and earphone jacks raised.

What came next was a series of feminine screaming and multiple sounds of impact.

"Oh, dear. What an expressive family." Inko slightly flinched as the entire house shook while she tried to lift her son. "Let's get some ice on your head, baby."

Izuku's eyes slowly opened to see that he was in Kyouka's living room and felt that he was sitting on a cushion. Must've been the couch. He felt something cold on the back of his head too, but he paid no mind to it.

His eyes started slowly shifting around, seeing that everyone was here, sitting around the coffee table.

He was in between his mom and Kyouka with Mika and Kyoutoku sitting on a separate couch on the other side.

But he noticed that something looked off about Kyoutoku. It might've been because of two large steaming bumps on top of his head. Also, the fact that he's knocked out.

Yeah, that must be what's off about him.

The two women were having a conversation amongst themselves that sounded muffled, but it thankfully started to clear up for him.

"Isn't it funny how it took us this long to meet? Our kids have known each other since the beginning of middle school, and not once did they think of introducing us to each other." Inko joked, sipping some of her tea.

Mika let out a chuckle, refilling her cup. "I know, right? We only met Izuku last year on Kyouka's 15th birthday. I would have thought that we would have met him sooner, considering how many times she's mentioned him before."

"Oh, she mentioned him. You should count yourself lucky. I had no clue Kyouka even existed until she showed up at my house on Izuku's 14th birthday. I swear, teenagers want to keep everything a secret from their parents these days, don't they?"

"Oh, well, it's not like we were all that different back then. There were so many times when I snuck off to concerts way past my bedtime because I was sick of how strict my mother was."

Kyouka's head snapped toward her mom. "You did what?"

Mika let out a small gasp and smirked. "Oops. Forget you heard that." She then returned her attention to Inko. "But how about you, Inko? Did you commit any scandalous actions in your younger days?"

"Me? Oh, I don't know about that…" Inko tried to avoid eye contact while fidgeting with her fingers.

Mika's earphone jacks pointed at the other woman. "Oho, I think I spy with my little eye…an ex-troublemaker in my presence. Spill the beans, Inko. There's no judgment in this house."

Inko placed her hand on her cheek, giving a sheepish smile. "You could say I wasn't exactly a model citizen. My friends and I would go to parks late at night, and I would use my quirk to make wallets fall out of people's back pockets when they walked by us. Then we would take a few bills out before returning the wallet to the owner. It may have not been legal, but no major harm was done to anybody."

Izuku's eyes almost popped out of his head, completely shocked by this confession, now being fully awake. "You committed crimes, Mom?!"

Inko rubbed the back of her neck. "O-Oh, you weren't supposed to hear that, Izuku. But don't you worry, I was never caught, and I only did that for a few months. I also want to add that I wouldn't have met your father if I hadn't done that, since he was a victim of mine. But he caught me using my quirk, and it turned into a confrontation, which led to a date."

"You told me that you both had an innocent meeting, bumping into each other at the park." Izuku felt like his entire world was being shattered. "Now I'm learning my mother was a petty thief…"

"I had to fib a little so you wouldn't grow up being a delinquent, looking for love." Inko chuckled, patting her son's back. "What matters is that you grew up to have much better values than I did when I was your age, and you becoming a great hero can cancel out my past delinquency."

Mika sweatdropped. "Is that how that works?"

Kyouka smiled as she watched this interaction, enjoying the irony, considering she fell in love with Izuku for being a hero in a park rather than being a delinquent.

The girl let out a small giggle. "It's sometimes fun to hear how your parents were when they were younger. Maybe cut your mom some slack, Izuku. I, for one, am happy she was a delinquent so I could have you as a best friend."

Izuku let out a sigh. "You're not wrong. I'd be crazy to not be a little grateful for that."

"Speaking of meetings, how did you two meet?" Mika asked, tilting her head. "I don't think you ever told me the story."

Inko refilled her cup. "Hm, it's the same for me."

"We didn't?" Izuku raised an eyebrow.

Kyouka scratched her head. "Huh, guess we didn't. Could've sworn I mentioned it at least once. But it's a pretty basic story with some teen awkwardness in there."

"We still would love to hear." Mika said as Inko nodded in agreement.

"Um, how about you start us off?" Kyouka nudged her hero with her shoulder.

"Me?" Izuku pointed at himself, but his best friend and the two women were looking at him in anticipation. "I don't have a choice now." He cleared his throat. "It was the first day of our first year in middle school, and I was hanging out on the rooftop because…I thought it would be a comfortable place to have lunch. I was going to write in my notebook, but I realized that I didn't have my pencil on me. So, I assumed I left it in class, so I tried to go downstairs to get it."

Kyouka continued on. "Meanwhile, I kinda wanted to try out the rooftop as a place to eat. So when I opened the door to the rooftop…BAM!" Inko jumped in her seat. "Our foreheads collided right into each other. I fell on my a-butt and Izuku tried to help me out, but I accidentally insulted him, and he started to cry."

"After that, you started crying too and I got scared that I made you cry. The both of us then started apologizing to each other and it was a whole mess until things finally calmed down before we officially introduced ourselves to each other. The start was a little rough on the edges, but everything smoothed out really soon."

The two teens looked at their respective mothers, seeing that they were on the verge of tears.

Well, Inko was more than on the verge. More like tears streaming down her cheeks and filling up her recently emptied cup.

But both women exclaimed the same thing. "That's so precious!"

The two teens looked down at their laps, lightly blushing at this statement.

"I'm up!" Kyoutoku jolted awake. "I sensed that the vibes were getting too wholesome for my liking! Especially with my daughter around!"

"Ah, glad to see you're finally awake." Mika gave her husband an innocent smile. "Took you long enough."

"Gimme a break. I'm outmatched by my wife and daughter with their quirks. A quirkless fella like me stands no chance." Kyoutoku scoffed and frowned, but had a hidden smile underneath it.

Mika gently smacked his arm. "Oh, you know that's an excuse. You could have All Might's quirk, and we'd still be able to make you grovel at your feet, whether we have quirks or not."

Izuku raised his hand. "I can confirm, having a quirk does not help against Kyouka one bit. I've witnessed her make Pro Heroes quiver in their boots. And don't spread this rumor around, but I think All Might is scared of her. In fact, I'm certain of it."

"I sometimes forget that All Might is a teacher at your school. Must be awesome to see that guy, right Kyouka?" Kyoutoku grabbed himself a cup of tea.

"Yeah…Mega awesome." Kyouka put a fake smile on her face.

'At least I won't be forced to be in the same room as him until September.'

"But thanks, kid. What you said both made me feel better and feel completely hopeless about my situation." Kyoutoku gave Izuku a small smile. "Having said that, I still love these two girls all the same, despite how much they overpower me."

"How do you know the right things to say when you can be such an idiot at times? But…I think I can show you a thing or two about overpowering…" Mika then leaned into her husband's ear and started whispering into it. Izuku and Inko couldn't make out a single word, but another person wasn't so lucky.

"Groooooooss." Kyouka groaned as her body shuddered. "I can hear you perfectly, Mom…"

Her parents' cheeks went bright red before Kyoutoku loudly cleared his throat. "Changing subjects! Izuku, my man, mind passing me that ice pack on the back of your head? I still have a throbbing pain on top of mine."

"Hm?" Izuku reached for the back of his head and pulled out an ice pack. "Forgot I felt cold there. Here you go."

The boy tossed the ice pack over to the man, who caught it before placing it on his head. "Ooh, that's the stuff…Now, we can say we're even today."

"Why's that?" Izuku asked.

"Ya know. Cause of that t-shirt I shot ya with. Sorry about the force of impact, by the way. Forgot I left the cannon on max power."

Kyouka narrowed her eyes at her dad. "You better be sorry. But what kind of shirt did you shoot at him?"

"Oh, you mean this?" Inko grabbed the folded-up shirt from the arm of the couch. "I took this inside just in case Kyoutoku wanted it back. But it seems to be a gift for Izuku."

Inko handed her son the shirt and he unfolded it until his eyes widened at the design.

Meanwhile, Kyouka was looking mortified with her mouth agape.

The t-shirt was purple and had Kyouka's smirking face right in the middle with the words "ROCK ON!' under her face.

"WHY DO YOU STILL HAVE THOSE?!" Kyouka blew up on her dad, steam coming out of her ears.

"You didn't think I got rid of all these, did you?" Kyoutoku leaned back and outstretched his arms. "I wouldn't dare get rid of such a treasured shirt. You'd be surprised to learn how much I have in the attic."

Kyouka grabbed the sides of her head. "This is so embarrassing…"

"This shirt is really cool. Thanks, Mr. Ji-Kyoutoku." Izuku smiled widely at the shirt, almost tempted to put it on here and now, but he didn't want his best friend passing out from embarrassment. He then folded the shirt back and placed it on the coffee table.

"Thought you'd like it. Your birthday was 2 weeks ago, right? Seemed right to me to give you this gift."

"Why didn't you tell me that you were going to give that to him? You're going to make me look bad if only you give him a gift, and I'm empty-handed." Mika pouted.

Kyoutoku wrapped one of his arms around his wife. "Sorry, sorry. How about you give him a gift next year and I don't?"

"Oooor you still give him a gift and I'll make your gift look an insignificant speck compared to mine." Mika smirked at him.

"Are these two normally competitive about gifts?" Izuku mumbled to his best friend.

Kyouka gave a small nod. "Yup. Last year, they both were pretty devastated at the guitar you got me since it overshadowed both of their gifts. They didn't show it when you were here, but they were a mess afterward. But don't feel bad. It's like a mini competition between them."

"They won't have to worry because I doubt my gift will be as great as last year's since I'm lacking in my 'All Might Grant' this year."

"Don't sell yourself short. I know whatever you got me will be great."

"Maybe I should get it out now." Izuku reached for his coat pocket, but he only now realized that he wasn't wearing his coat anymore. "Crap, where's my coat?"

"I took it off you after you fell earlier." Inko said. "It's on the coat rack at the entrance."

"Oh, thanks Mom." Izuku flashed her a smile before standing up and walking over to the coat rack. He reached into the pocket of his coat and pulled out the box.

Unfortunately, his hands started to get all jittery as he held the box. He tried to tighten his grip on it, but the box still felt loose and heavy in his hands.

'Dammit, keep still, Izuku. All you have to do is give this to her and it's over. Keep your head in the game.'

Izuku gulped as he turned to walk toward Kyouka. But while he walked, he looked at her face, seeing that she was looking at him with expectation.

He felt himself getting absorbed in her features. Was she wearing some makeup today? Her lips had a bit more shine to them, her eyelashes looked a little thicker, and her purple eyes seemed to be complimented by some light eyeshadow.

Before he could examine her face some more, he tripped over a seat cushion and started to fall forward. The box flew out of his hand, flying toward his best friend.

'I'm not letting that fall!'

He quickly kicked against the floor, launching himself to the box and barely catching it before it hit the floor.

"Damn. Killer save!" Kyoutoku gave him a firm thumbs up.

"You alright, Izuku?" Kyouka asked, some light concern in her tone and eyes.

"I'm good." Izuku groaned as he began to sit up, starting with a single knee on the floor as he held the small box for her to take. He looked up to see Kyouka before giving a nervous laugh. "U-Um, here you go. Sorry about almost dropping it."

Kyouka gasped, planting her hands over her mouth, starting to become overwhelmed by her emotions. She had always dreamed of this day, but she didn't expect it to come so soon.

"Wh-Whoa, Izuku…I-I didn't see this coming." Kyouka gulped and was about to shout out 'yes' to him until she was interrupted.

"The hell do you think you're doing?! I won't have any proposals in this house!" Kyoutoku screamed out, a raging flame consuming his head.

"Dear, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding." Mika coughed out, a hint of red on her cheeks. "Unless…"

"Have you two already advanced your relationship that much?" Inko watched with wide eyes.

Izuku looked down at his legs, seeing his current position before standing straight up, his arms planted firmly at his sides. "S-Sorry, that's not what I meant! I was only trying to give your present while getting back up!"

Kyouka looked up at him, internally sighing in disappointment. 'Aww, and I thought we were going to skip the whole dating thing and go right to being engaged. Still have to wait a while for that.'

Thankfully, her face didn't express her disappointment as she gave a small laugh. "That's okay. So, could I have it now?"

Izuku saw she was holding out her hand before he placed the box on it. "I hope you'll like it."

Kyouka looked at the box for a few seconds before opening it. Her eyes started to sparkle at what was in the box, not believing the piece of jewelry before her.

It was an armor ring with overlapping sections of purple stainless steel that were connected to each other. The bottom section had a green music note engraved on it.

Everything about this ring was perfect, and tears started to well up in her eyes. Usually, Izuku would panic a little, but by now, he took this as a good sign.

Even all the adults in the room were silent as they leaned in to take a better look at the ring, seeing how stunning it was.

Mika and Kyoutoku would have internally berated themselves for feeling like their gifts didn't compare, but they didn't care about that right now.

Kyouka then grabbed the ring and slowly slipped it onto her right middle finger, seeing as the ring covered a little over half her finger.

A perfect fit.

The girl stared at the ring, admiring how it shined and how she could slightly see the reflection of her face on it.

This is probably the most beautiful piece of jewelry she's ever laid her eyes on. No, it most definitely is.

And now it belongs to her.

Izuku rubbed the back of his neck. "I know it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the necklace you gave me, but I think it has a nice color and design. I'm glad it fit though. I was scared it would either be too big or too small for your finger."

"Izuku…" Kyouka wiped her tears as she gently touched her ring. "Thank you. I love it."

Izuku felt his face heat up a little as he gave her a warm smile. "Happy Birthday, Kyouka."

Everyone continued to have pleasant conversations for a couple more hours until Mika brought the cake out of the fridge. "Time for some cake!"

Kyoutoku was sitting at the kitchen table with Inko and Izuku. "My mouth's on the verge of watering. Kyouka hyped up your cakes, Inko. Are they really that good?"

Inko waved him off. "Your daughter must have been exaggerating. My cakes aren't anything special."

"Don't be so modest, Mom. This recipe I've seen you take pride in." Izuku chirped in.

Mika arrived at the table, placing the cake on it. "Speaking of recipes, do you mind sharing that katsudon recipe with us? We tried asking Kyouka for it after she talked about it with such high praise after she came back from I-Island, but she outright refused, saying that this recipe is only for special occasions."

"Well, Kyouka is now the official owner of that specific recipe, so she has the rights on what to do with it. But I wouldn't mind sharing my classic recipe with you." Inko offered.

"I'll take that. I'm excited to cook me some mean katsudon." Kyoutoku rubbed his hands together before his stomach growled. "But first, some cake." He looked toward the living room. "Kyouka, are you going to join us or should we eat without you?!"

Kyouka was lying on the couch, looking up at her hand, watching the light reflect off of the purple steel of her ring. She still wasn't over how beautiful this ring was and that it came from her hero of all people.

It might just be a present that she treasures more than the electric guitar since this came 100% from him with no help from All Might. But the guitar is still very much treasured.

She wouldn't have minded enjoying this view for at least another hour, but she doesn't want to keep Izuku waiting. "I'll be there! Gimme a sec!"

The girl got up from the couch and stretched, but still kept her eyes on the ring. That was until the doorbell caught her attention.

"I'll get that!" Kyouka shouted as she made her way to the front door, and opened it. "Hello?"

But there was no one at her doorstep. Instead of a person, there was a medium-sized box wrapped in purple and green striped wrapping with no tag on it.

Kyouka looked around the area to see if anyone was around, but she didn't see a soul.

'They have to be nearby.'

She plugged her earphone jack into the ground to listen for any potential suspects. Some various voices were heard around the block until she heard a very distinct voice from a block away that was mixed with some panting.

"Sheesh…I barely had enough energy in the tank to leap away from Young Jirou's house."

'Ugh, All Might.'

Kyouka rolled her eyes but continued to listen a little longer.

"But now I have no choice but to take a taxi home...I really should start driving my own car around. It'll feel way less demeaning that way. Anyway, I hope she'll like her gift. Crap, what if it was the wrong thing to give her? At the same time, this kind of gift never goes wrong. Wait, she could think…"

All Might proceeded to ramble on, going back and forth if she'll like it or not, until Kyouka cut him off by unplugging her earphone jack.

"That's enough of that." Kyouka looked down at the box and picked it up.

The girl examined the box, turning it around and asking herself if she should bother opening this or not.

Her hand reached for the wrapping paper until she heard her mom's voice. "So, what was it, Kyouka?!"

Kyouka stepped back into the house, closed the door, and walked up the stairs. "Just a delivery I made a week ago! Nothing special!"

She made it to her room and looked down at the box one last time before carelessly tossing it to the side. There was no sound of anything breaking so that at least told her that nothing fragile was inside. That made her feel less guilty about it.

'Screw it. Doubt it's anything that good with how unsure he was about it.'

Kyouka finally made it to the table and smiled at everyone before the candles were lit and everyone sang Happy Birthday to her.

When it was time for her to blow out the candles, Kyouka took a deep inhale of air, thinking of a wish.

'I want this summer to change everything.'

After making her wish, Kyouka blew out the candles while everyone around her clapped.

"Let's get to eatin'!" Kyoutoku announced, cutting the cake.

"Dear, let Kyouka have the first bite."

"Okay, then keep your finger away from the frosting. Don't think I don't see that."

"Better start eating, Kyouka. Your parents will end up devouring the cake before you can get a bite."

"You're right. I can't let myself pass on one of the best cakes of all time."

"You all flatter me. But please enjoy and take your time. I could always make more if you're all up for it."

They all started eating the cake, everyone enjoying their time at the Jirou residence. They celebrated until a little past midnight when Izuku and Inko finally left.

Kyouka had to force herself to remove her ring when she went to bed, but she still held it in her hand as she closed her eyes with a blissful smile on her face.

'Mine.'

A/N

Chapter 58 is done! Another nice and relaxing chapter, but it's thankfully the last filler chapter for a minute before it's time to get to the summer camp arc.

It's an arc I'm hopeful for in terms of enjoyment while writing it. Mostly because of certain decisions I've made for this arc. It will also be the first time I have parts of the arc pre-written so I won't be 100% winging it like usual. More like 90% winging it.

Looks like the Falling Devil attacked Izuku twice in this chapter, but he still managed to deliver that ring. But man, that ring is something I had planned for a hot minute. It wasn't as last second as the necklace was.

I should also mention that if you'd like a better mental image for the ring, search up "Vivienne Westwood Armour Ring." It's what I mainly pictured when describing the ring. When you see the image for it, just imagine it purple and with a green music note on the bottom section.

Now time for the reviews!

TOPCAT-59: Edgerunners emotionally drained me for like a week. But that pendant might be useful someday.

benedictloe: It's perfectly normal to put a tracker on somebody. At least she didn't put that tracker on him without any consent.

Bucio: I was tempted to do a flashback of Kyouka meeting Melissa with a scared All Might, but the chapter felt long enough to me. Well damn, should've had him wrap himself in a ribbon in this chapter lol.

Cyber-RK18: It was a good place for a confession, but I already have it planned on when exactly the confession will come.

Ability King KK: All Might will have his work cut out for him once those two actually start dating.

Migetsu Newgate: Unfortunately, I can't say I have any plans on covering those movies. If I do, then it'll be a one shot, but they won't be any kind of priority for me. I haven't even seen the movies(that includes two heroes). But I will say that the fan art does look pretty sick.

drake wind: Their vacation can consist of sleeping in. That's what I would want.

curlyboy01: He does not know yet.

WendyMarvel12: Not a question I'm all that comfortable answering.

Mew-the-Dark-Matter-buster1: I like to think that keeping it simple with a ring is a solid choice. I will admit that I have absolutely 0 plans for the pendant mainly because I came up with it while writing the chapter. But who knows, maybe some fun ideas can come from it. And I already have a kind of rough idea of how I'll handle the Kamino arc, but it'll be fully fleshed out sooner or later.

Reviews are all done!
