After going a considerable distance from the village, she took her kunai and sectioned her hair into two parts.

Using the kunai, she cut off her waist length hair to shoulder length. Using a fire jutsu she burned the hair off.

'Fortunately, all the clothes that I bought do not have the Uchiha symbol in it, so no one will know.'

She took the mask that Minato had given her earlier and wore it.

'I am Hikari Tanaka, now.' Sayuri thought and continued walking.

Meanwhile, at the Akatsuki base

"Did you hear the news?" Pein asked Konan.

"4th Hokage's father's murder? Yes, and I heard that the killer is out on the run." Konan replied.

"I am thinking about recruiting her to our team. Murdering the father of the 4th hokage is not a joke."

"Sounds interesting, I shall go" Konan said and made her way towards the forest.

Konan had heard a vague description about her having black hair, short height and wears a golden mask, covering most of her face.

'This should not be that difficult, since she should be outside the outskirts of Konoha maybe.'

Konan had to travel for only few hours, when she saw someone with similar description to the murderer, sitting near the river.

"Hikari Tanaka" Konan said.

Sayuri turned around and saw a woman, with blue hair standing behind her. She was wearing black robes with red clouds in it.

'The Akatsuki cloak'

"Yes, that is me." Sayuri said but took out her kunai and activated her sharingan.

"I am here to make you an offer. Not that you have a choice." Konan informed.

"Go on." Sayuri said, but she was still cautious regarding her surroundings.

"The leader wants you to join the Akatsuki." Konan informed.

Sayuri lowered her guard, 'This is exactly what I want.'

"Do I really have an option?" Sayuri asked, challenging Konan.

"If you want a fight, I can fight you, but you will end up losing." Konan said in a calculating manner.

Sayuri observed her and said, "Very well, I will join."

Konan got relatively surprised her non-resistance but didn't think much.

'She is already a rogue ninja; she might just increase her strength by joining us, but we need her powers as well to achieve peace.'

Sayuri and Konan silently travelled to the Akatsuki based.

Sayuri was not surprised that the base was a dark cave, but she was relatively surprised that the cave was a proper house. There was a living area, kitchen, and even personal room with their own bathroom.

'It's almost like a cave hotel.' Sayuri concluded and mentally punched herself for admiring the akatsuki.

She put her luggage at the side and observed her room.

It had one decent size bed, with an almirah and an attached bathroom.

'Much better than I expected.' Sayuri thought and dropped her luggage in her room and went to the kitchen.

When she went there, she saw a weird looking man that looked like a shark.

"Who is she?" the man asked Konan.

"The new recruit. Hikari-san, meet Kisame Hoshigaki. Kisame-san, this is Hikari Tanaka." Konan replied.

Sayuri nodded while Kisame just eyed her.

'Strange girl.'

'Shark man is called Kisame.'

She went to the stove and started making tea.

"Make five cups, Tanaka" Konan said.

Sayuri nodded and made four cups of tea. Soon, more people joined them and Sayuri got introduced to each one of them.

'So, leader is Pein, then there is Konan, Sharkman and Kakuzu.'

"You will be paid a monthly allowance, the food and lodging are on the house and if you get assigned to a bounty mission, you will be paid extra depending on if you are successful or not. If you are successful, then you get 50% of the bounty." Pein explained to Sayuri.

"Bounty? You mean, people out there hire us to kill." Sayuri asked.

"Third Tsuchikage pays us well." Kakuzu confirmed.

'So, we are literally ANBU members, but anyone can hire us. Neat.' Sayuri thought, lowkey impressed by their strategy.

'So, if I can convince somehow that the leaf is their friend, or give them hush money to not attack us, we are pretty much covered. But it cannot be that simple now can it. There is more to it than meets the eye.' Sayuri though.

"I see, when can I get my first mission?" Sayuri asked.

"When time comes." Konan replied.

"So, the newbie is here."

Sayuri turned around a saw a weird creature entering from the ground. She turned to Konan and Konan replied, "That is zetsu."

"I see" Sayuri replied trying to keep her calm.

'That thing is half-black and half-white and is called zetsu. Is the black part, black zetsu? The mastermind behind Kaguya's resurrection.'

Konan spoke, "Today, Kisame and Kakuzu are on food duty. Tomorrow Tanaka and I will make the food."

Everyone nodded and went to the room.

Sayuri went to her room only for Konan to trail behind her.

"Tanaka"

"Yes Konan-san?"

"Wait for few minutes."

Sayuri nodded and Konan went somewhere. She soon returned and saw her return with a cloak and black nail paint along with a ring.

"Make sure to paint your nails and always wear this ring."

Sayuri nodded.

'I wonder what awaits me.'

"You need to kill these 3 people" Konan said, giving her the list and the pictures of the men.

"Onoki's doing?" Sayuri asked.

"Yes." Konan confirmed.

Sayuri nodded, "I will leave now then."

"I shall accompany you." Konan replied.

"No need, I will give you their heads today."

"We always travel as partners."

"Okay." Sayuri said.

Sayuri went to her room and changed to her black shorts and a red shirt and wore her cloak.

She took her sword and immediately left to find the targets.

"I will watch from a distance." Konan informed.

"Okay."

Konan and Sayuri already had inputs from Iwagakure so the easily went towards their target.

"Oh, hello boys." Sayuri said, looking at the targets.

Konan observed her from a distance.

"Akatsuki" one of them said.

"You came to die child? You look young but alas you chose the evil route of life." another said.

Sayuri smirked and charged towards them, with her masks, covering most of her face except her mouth and eyes, no one could recognize her. Even people could barely make out her eyes. Sayuri activated her mangekyou sharingan.

She moved swiftly towards one of the men and took out her sword, who proceeded to laugh at her.

He got his sword ready, and it clashed, only for him to look into her eyes and notice a weird shape.

'Wait, that's ' before the man could process he fell under a genjutsu and Sayuri beheaded him in an instant.

"Now only 2 left." Sayuri smirked.

"Who are you?"

"You can call me Tanaka." Sayuri replied.

"She must have used a genjustu on him."

"We need to be careful."

The two men released fire jutsu only for Sayuri to release a water jutsu and evaporate the water.

It formed a smoke and Sayuri took full advantage of it thanks to her sharingan.

"I can sense her chakra to the right."

"But I sense it to my left."

"Clone"

Only for them to see a large skeletal hands with magenta pink colour capture them.

"Wait, hands? Susanoo?" one man said.

"How? Isn't she Tanaka?" another man replied, and reality hit them.

The one pretending to be a Tanaka is an Uchiha.

The two men tried to break free, only to see the hands drag them near the glow, the source of the Susanoo.

Sayuri took her sword and quickly slashed their throats, using the smoke to her full advantage.

Konan watched Sayuri appear out from the smoke, with two heads separated from the body and threw it near the third head.

Konan came down and was surprised, "It took her only 10 minutes. Pity I didn't get to see her fight, because of the smoke."

Konan nodded and picked up the three heads and the two of them went back to their base.

After finishing off their dinner, Sayuri informed Konan and Pein, "I am going out."

"Why?"

"Star gazing" Sayuri informed.

Pein and Konan silently communicated with each other, "Very well, consider it as an extra reward for the job well done but only for 30 mins." Pein said.

Sayuri nodded and made her way towards the exit and left.

She made her way deep into the forest when she felt a familiar chakra.

'That's Obito's chakra.' Sayuri thought and began to follow it.

Obito meanwhile had sensed Sayuri chakra and followed it as well.

'Hime-chan I am coming.'

Within minutes they met each other and Obito got surprised seeing her.

He remembered her having long waist length hair, but it was replaced with shoulder length hair.

Her normally unpainted nails where black and she had a ring that Akatsukis used to wear.

Her cloak had the Akatsuki symbol instead of her usual Uchiha symbol.

He also noticed that she was wearing pink lipstick.

"Hime-chan" Obito said.

Sayuri looked at him once and sighed controlling her emotions.

"Hikari Tanaka."

"Are you eating well?"

"You shouldn't ask anything to an Akatsuki member that you are assigned to assassinate." Sayuri replied and turned her back.

"Hime-chan, please. At least tell me if you are eating well. I am worried about you; do you know how scary it is?"

Sayuri awakened her sharingan and slowly made her way towards Obito.

Obito looked her in the eye and soon feel under a genjutsu.

Sayuri gently laid him to the ground, 'Sorry Obito-kun' and left.

OBITO'S GENJUSTU START

"Where am I? Oh, shoot a genjutsu" Obito said observing his background.

He saw Sayuri stand in front of him and open her mask.

"Hime-chan?"

"You dummy, what if someone was there, I would have been exposed. Do not do this again." Sayuri scolded Obito.

"Sorry."

"Anyway, I got some information that I am telling you under this genjutsu. Normally I would be sending my hawk but whatever."

Obito nodded.

"Third Tsuchikage hires the Akatsuki. In fact, Akatsuki can be hired by anyone for money."

"I see, I will relay it to sensai."

"Also tell him, that I found zetsu."

Obito's eyes widened, "when? where?" but before he could ask further or receive any further information, he felt another light.
