Konan looked up from her prison cell and saw Sayuri in front of her.
"How are you?" Sayuri asked.
"Could have been better." Konan replied.
Sayuri sat down and started speaking, "How about Pein, he still has not attacked our village yet?"
"I think he is gathering an army before striking."
"I agree, but should they not release you from the cell by now?" Sayuri asked.
"To think what the Akatsuki original was got changed to fit the agenda of zetsu." Konan replied.
After getting captured, she was initially non-compliant but later gave it.
With exchange of words, Konan realized she and Nagato got manipulaned.
While initially, Konan was supposed to be executed, but with her compliance, they decided to spare her and keep her locked up.
Sayuri used her influence, and they moved Konan to a bigger cell, and she could visit Konan anytime to check up on her.
"Nagato might be on to something." Konan confirmed.
"Nagato? You mean the real Pein?" Sayuri asked and Konan confirmed with a nod.
"How is your life going on?" Konan asked.
Sayuri replied, "We broke up."
"I am sorry."
"Don't be." Sayuri replied and looked up in the ceiling.
Konan observed her features and thought 'She is missing him.'
Minato knew things would been awkward but as a hokage he didn't care. The Akatsuki would target their village soon and he needed the finest ninjas to work together.
If that means Sayuri and Obito has to interact, then they had to interact.
When he learnt about their breakup from Obito, he asked Kushina, why she said those words, knowing Obito likes Sayuri.
Kushina emphasised, that in a drunken state she had said those words and would never say that while sober even if she preferred Rin over Sayuri and promised Minato, she would drink with moderation going forward to not get drunk.
Minato had also met with Shuichi, Sayuri father about the breakup and both had agreed that Obito and Sayuri where not ready with marriage and they would stay out of their shenanigans and let them figure it out on their own.
Currently, Minato hoped that Sayuri and Obito would be professional with each other and not argue.
Minato looked at the team in front of them and went, "Based on the intel that we have Pein has 6 paths due to his rinnegan. His naraka path is gone which means he still has 5 more paths. The one that we have to be scared if of the preta path. The preta path can absorb chakra."
Minato went to narrate about all the information.
With Preta Path , he assigned taijutsu users with Might Guy leading the team
The pashu path or animal path, was to be dealt by Sayuri, Kurenai and Anko with Sayuri leading the team.
The Asura Path was to be dealt by Kakashi and Obito.
Deva path was something, Minato himself would deal with.
With the Manusha or Human Path being the weakest, he asked Asuma and few other ninjas to go after it.
If Zetsu attacks, the third hokage was to seal him.
The teamwork was overall the good idea or so Minato thought.
As anticipated exactly 1 week later, Pein had struck the village and had caused havoc.
What no one expected was for Orchimaru to join them.
Initially everything was going as per plan, the pashu/animal path was getting fought by Sayuri, who was spamming moeru on the animals while Anko and Kurenai was fighting the form.
When the girls was about to kill off the animal path, suddenly it got traded with the human path and the girls ended up kill the wrong path.
"Not the one we wanted." Anko said.
"But better than nothing." Kurenai replied.
Anko and Kurenai sensed huge chakra coming towards them and the three girls regrouped and saw the pashu path has regrouped with asura path.
"Wait, if the Asura path is here, what happened to Hakate and Uchiha?" Kurenai asked, still scared.
Anko's eyes widened at what Kurenai was implying.
'They are dead?'Sayuri thought once.
She closed her eyes, and their image popped up in front of her.
'These demons killed for far too long.'
Sayuri felt great anger in anger and began to channelize her chakra.
Kurenai and Anko saw magenta pink hands surround them and lifting them up.
They looked and saw Sayuri's Susanoo lifting them up. The girls couldn't help but look in amazement at her Susanoo.
Not only was the colour pretty, but it looked completely humanoid with 2 arms, a sword at the back, what looked like a head gear at the top and perfect bird like wings.
They reached the top at the center of the head, to see Sayuri standing there.
"We are covered. Let's get these demons sorted."
Using the Susanoo Sayuri attacked the 2 paths simultaneously, her Susanoo swords slicing up all the animals and weapons that was getting thrown towards them. This followed by a rain of punches towards the 2 forms and the forms were lying down flat, battling between life and death.
Suddenly Sayuri saw a large shuriken appear and cut up the Asura and Animal form in half and literally killing them.
A cyan Susanoo stood beside them, and the shuriken returned to it.
Kurenai looked towards the Susanoo and saw Obito and Kakashi present.
Obito and Sayuri deactivated their susanoos and all 5 of them where on the ground.
"How is it going on?" Anko asked.
"Pashu , manusha and Ashura paths are gone." Kurenai confirmed.
"Which means only 2 more paths are left, preta and deva" Kakashi confirmed.
"Let's go." Kurenai said and started running towards the village to take down the remaining forms of pein.
"Konan can help us with Nagato." Sayuri said.
"It's too risky for that" Kakashi informed.
Sayuri signed and the 5 of them continued running towards to help the others.
Once they reached the battlefield, they saw a very injured Gai receiving treatment from the medical staff.
"What happened to him?" Kakashi asked concerned.
"He killed preta path but had to open the 6th gate. Do not worry, he will be fine." The medical nin re-assured Kakashi.
"That means only deva path is left." Obito spoke for the 1st time and ran towards where Minato would be fighting.
Sayuri felt a strange chakra nature and said, "Wait."
Obito stood still, turned and asked her, "What is it hime-sama?"
"There is another chakra nature that does not seem right."
"What do you mean?" Kakashi asked.
"Someone else is nearby." Sayuri said and activated her sharingan and observed her surroundings.
Obito started doing the same as well.
Both felt a strange presence from the right side, Obito pointed towards that direction, "I sense something there."
Fortunately for them, Minato appeared, "Sensei?" Obito asked seeing an injured Minato.
Seeing Minato's serious face, the medican nins immediately went towards him.
"We will rest now, all the pein forms are gone." Minato confirmed.
"Sensei, I sense a strong presence there." Obito pointed out.
"The team will regain strength and fight once again. We will take an hour break." Minato informed and Obito nodded.
All the medical-nins got busy and helped with nursing the injured. Tsunade had also joined in for the fight and Katsuyu was summoned, and the slug healed the injured.
After healing for 45 mins, Obito, Sayuri, Shisui , Kakashi and Minato went forward towards the direction where the felt strange chakra.
They ran for almost 30 minutes when they saw Orochimaru standing in front of them, smirking.
"So, you found me but a bit too late." Orochimaru said and weaved a sign, and many snakes surrounded him.
Shisui, Kakashi and Minato started killing the releases.
Obito looked at Sayuri knowing she was afraid of snakes.
'Out of everything, why snakes, why?' Sayuri thought with shaking hands.
"Hime-sama?" Obito asked while activating his mangekyo sharingan.
Sayuri looked up to Obito and activated her mangekyo sharingan.
"I got this Uchiha" Sayuri said and turned towards Obito.
"Too Late" Orochimaru said and said "Edo Tensai" shocking everyone.
A single wooden coffin rose from the ground and the door to the coffin fell on the ground.
Seeing the body at the other side made everyone freeze.
Minato and Kakashi where visibly shaking.
Shisui took 2 steps back seeing the man in front of him.
Obito for the first time, despite his 182 cm height felt very small.
Sayuri had a strange feeling seeing the man. She was happy and scared at the same time.
"Great grandpa" Sayuri said softly.
Normally anyone would be happy to see their great grandfather, unless the said man was Madara Uchiha, the 2nd Hokage or the God of War himself.
