In Cid's Parlour
The Parlour is warmer than outside, though still mild. The light comes from the holotables, alcohol bars and lights from gambling machines. Cid can hear the first customers of the day entering her bar, talking, which combined with the hum of the holo tables. She can smell and taste the alcohol, the electrical equipment, and the leftover spice. The seat she's sitting on is firm but supportive. Everyone notices the alcohol bar, but only Cid knows about the secret backdoor.
It is early morning in Cid's Parlour. The first daily customers are here, but Cid isn't doing much. She's currently talking to the boss on Hosnian Prime.
"So Shamto, you're saying that a Clone-hating Rebel Agent is trapped on Lantillies, and we've only got Clones to spare?" Cid stated.
Shamto replied, "Pretty much. He needs rescue and transport to Alderaan but would prefer not to have to be escorted by Clones,"
"Well, I've only got Clones in my Mercenary guild. Surely Fennec Shand or Krayt's claw could help, even if the latter is run by a Clone," Cid stated. Shamto sighed, then replied, "Fennec Shand's off on Tatooine on another assignment, and Krayt's Claw is in the Unknown Regions for some reason, and Crosshair's the only other one I've got. I wish we still had the Jedi, but since Order 66, I haven't seen one. I was close to going bust when Crosshair showed up"
"Same. Thankfully this Batch has proven capable. Shame the workforce has dried up so much," Cid sighed.
"Alright. I'd better get going. Maybe I can convince this Agent to accept Clones that abandoned the Empire," Cid stated.
Shamto replied, "I wish you good luck with that Cid," before the communication was cut.
Cid then gets back in contact with the Agent.
"Got anyone?" the Agent asked.
Cid stated, "Between us two, we're down to deserter Clones. They've all had their chips out, so they don't work for the Empire. Anyone else on his end is unavailable, so if you want to get off that rock, you've better cut the Clones some slack,"
After a few moments, during which both stared each other down, the Agent sighed, nodded, and stated, "Fine. I'll accept the Clones,"
"Good. Cid out," Cid stated, and the communication was then cut.
Soon afterwards, Clone Force 99, fully suited up, entered.
"Ah, just in time. I've got an assignment for ya. This one shouldn't be too bad. The person is going to be more trouble than anything else," Cid stated.
Hunter asked, "Why?"
"The dude doesn't like Clones, even deserters like yourselves. I wouldn't accept this normally, but the other guy's non-Clone groups are out on other assignments. And I don't think he'd do well with his Clone client,"
"I'm not sure about this. What's not to say this isn't a trap?" Echo considered.
Cid stated, "Look. I'll bump the reward up to 50%. And he knows that if he tries anything, he'll be the one to suffer the consequences,"
"OK. Still not sure, but we'll give it a go," Echo stated, while Hunter asked, "What intel do you have?"
"Well, Lantillies is a city planet, not unlike Coruscant. You'll have to go a few levels down to get to him. Imperial activity is low and mainly kept to the surface, though I still recommend caution, as a few crime groups are operating underground". She then grabbed a communicator and showed the buildings.
"This should have all you need once you're underground," Cid stated, giving it to Tech, who checked it over.
"We should be able to handle this," Tech stated.
Cid sneered, "Good. Now get going", and the Batch nodded and departed.
The Havoc Marauder, despite being warm, the atmosphere was tense, Hunter noticed from the cockpit. The lights cast shadows, which reflect the mood that Hunter can sense. The ship hums, but where it would be calming, it didn't have that effect this time. Hunter can smell and taste the nerves mixed with the ship metal. Hunter's seat is firm but soft, and the floor is hard on his boots. As they headed for Lanallies, Hunter enquired, "What do we know about this Agent?"
"He was an Agent of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He was there when Order 66 happened, and the Republic transformed into the Empire. He also witnessed several atrocities committed by Clones, and therefore seems to harbour a grudge," Tech stated, before adding, "In summary, Republic Agent who experienced Order 66 and has a grudge because of it,"
"What's to stop him from turning on us or turning us into the Rebellion?" Echo enquired.
Hunter stated, "I don't know. But hopefully, there's at least one friendly face,"
"Agreed," Tech stated. Wrecker then added, "I'll make sure to keep him in line,"
"I'm sure you will, Wrecker," Tech clipped.
Finally, they arrive at Lantillies, a city-like world with lots of sky traffic and skyscrapers big enough to pierce the clouds. While not at the level of Coruscant, they're still huge.
"How do we find the contact in this mess?" Omega asked, overwhelmed by the size of the city. Putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder, Hunter replied, "Tech will find the way,"
"I hope so," Omega replied, trying to take in everything.
Eventually, they found the path they had to take to get to the rendezvous point, and soon, they reached a robed figure.
"Follow me. It's about time someone got this guy," a robed figure said as he led the Batch towards the holding cell.
Once they arrived, the figure stated, "Your rescue is here,"
The figure looked up. He had light skin, jet-black hair, sharp eyes and a cunning look. Upon seeing the Batch, he drew his blasters, which the Batch did immediately in response, Omega drawing her bow.
"Remove your helmets and show me the scars from where you've had your inhibitor chips removed," the Agent demanded. He decided to lower his blasters, at least slightly, so the Batch would oblige. After a few tense moments, they slowly returned their blasters and showed the scars.
"What about the little one?" the Agent sneered.
Tech stated, "We have done several checks on her over the last year, and she never had an inhibitor chip implanted in her,"
"Wait, really?" the Agent asked, so taken by surprise he forgot he was supposed to be demanding.
"It's true. I was on Kamino until Order 66. I only joined my brothers because I was dead otherwise," Omega pleaded. The Agent looked to Omega. After a few moments, he lowered his blasters.
"Alright. I'll trust you," the Agent sneered as he withdrew his blasters.
"We'd better get out of here quick; I don't trust that robed figure," Hunter said, and Wrecker added, "Follow me" before racing out and back the way they came.
"Wrecker, wait," Tech called, but he was gone. The Batch follows out, and the Agent follows behind.
Meanwhile, with the Robed Figure
The robed figure activates a beacon, informing the Empire about Clone Force 99 and the escape of the Agent.
"Now, let's try to slow them down," the robed figure sneered, and he proceeded back.
However, by the time he got back to the stall, everyone was long gone.
"Kriff. How did they get out so fast? I thought their argument would last longer," he stated as he ran back towards the landing platform.
With the Empire
Admiral Rampart gets the message, and a Venator Class Star Destroyer descends from hyperspace on the planet.
"Send two squadrons of Troopers to these coordinates. Surround them and cut off their escape," Rampart stated to Commander Cody, who nodded and replied, "Sir, yes, sir," before departing to get his troopers ready.
"This seems a bit extreme for one Rebel agent. Though this is Imperial protocol, I guess," he thought to himself as his troopers got ready. Once ready, Cody stated, "Remember. We're here to capture them, not kill them. So set your guns to Stun", and the troopers obliged. Finally, the LAAT Gunships were loaded up and flew for the surface.
Back to the Batch and the Agent
As the Batch and their Agent arrive on the landing platform, they spot a LAAT Gunship land, and the troops start disembarking.
"Out of the way," the Agent stated, and the Batch was forced to take cover as the Agent dragged a heavy weapon past them and started firing mercilessly at the troopers, laughing as he did so.
The figure in the dark robes approached, but Hunter detected him first and opened fire. With the other Batchers firing on the figure, he had no choice but to retreat. Hearing the maniacal laughter, Hunter stated, "There are Clones among those troopers,"
"So? They're all Imperial. No difference in my eyes," the Agent replied as he continued to fire. Hunter and Omega try to stop him. Wrecker then used his strength to pull the Agent off the gun. Not before most of the troopers had been massacred. The last few were stunned by Tech and Echo.
"Those Clones are controlled by the Inhibitor chips, remember?" Hunter yelled, outraged at his callous disregard for life. The Agent pulled himself up, glared at Hunter, and snarled, "So? These Clones are agents of the Empire. Clones, for the most part, are agents of war and destruction. You guys were lucky you got your chips out. You five at least have independent thought," before he walked back to the Havoc Marauder.
The Batch looks at each other, greatly disturbed. If this sort of sentiment was common in the Rebellion, there was no way they were going to work for them.
"Come on. We've got to get out of here before reinforcements arrive." the Agent snapped.
The Batch nodded and raced on board before Tech flew them out, flying low to avoid the Venator Star Destroyer.
With the Empire
While the troopers failed to capture Clone Force 99, or the Agent, they did manage to corner the hooded figure.
"You're under arrest for aiding the enemy," Commander Cody's voice stated from behind the mask.
The hooded figure sneered, "I sent you the message. It's not my fault you weren't competent enough to capture,"
"You led us into a trap. Now turn around and put your hands behind your back," Cody stated, and when the robed figure refused, he was stunned.
"Get him on board," Cody stated, and the other troopers dragged him. Cody started for a few moments, feeling something off, before returning to the ship.
"What the hell was that about?" Echo stated once they were in hyperspace.
The Agent stated, "The Clones were created purely for destruction. They're Agents of the Empire. Regardless of if their chips are working or not, they're not worthy of life,"
"What about us?" Hunter stated.
The Agent replied, "You five, along with Rex's group, are the exceptions, as you do not work for the Empire. But by and large, the Clones are just another tool in the Empire's oppression,"
"But they've got no agency. Those inhibitor chips control their every thought and action. It's not their fault," Omega stated,
The Agent huffed and walked to the back of the ship.
"Ugh!" Omega huffed. She and the rest of the Batch returned to the cockpit.
A few minutes later, the Agent heads back to them.
"I should give you the access code to enter Rebel HQ on Alderaan. Here you go," he stated as he threw the disc to Tech, who caught it.
"Thank you," Tech stated as he took it and used it to set it up. The Agent then returned to the back and sat there broodily.
"Sooner I can get away from these Clones, the better," he thought bitterly.
After a while, they reach Alderaan. Going through the official channels, they were soon granted access to the landing pad. It is warm for Spring on Alderaan, and the spaceport is as crowded, stuffy and busy as ever. Light came from the lights in the ceiling and walls intermixing with Alderaan's star. There's a lot of lights in the walls and ceiling, intermingling with Alderaan's star. Hunter could hear a wide variety of sounds, from talking people to ships taking off and landing. He could smell and taste the fumes from the ships, the various plants, creatures and spice that are being transported. The ground is firm, though softer than on Ord Mantell.
"Glad that we can be rid of him," Echo admitted with a note of anger in his voice.
Hunter replied, "Easy, Echo. Maybe we can talk to someone a bit friendlier before we write the Rebellion off,"
As they landed, they noticed a man walk up to the ship. He had tan skin, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing traditional Alderaan robes and looked to be waiting for them. After the Agent departed the ship, he stalked past without a word.
"Thanks for getting my Agent off the planet. My name is Senator Bail Organa. Nice to meet you," the man said, offering his hand. Hunter cautiously shook it and said, "I'm Hunter," he then introduced Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Omega.
When he reached Omega, Bail looked at her and asked, "A female clone?"
"Yep," Omega replied. Bail smiled, then added, "Didn't expect that. But it's nice to meet you all. I've heard a fair bit about you from Captain Rex,"
"You're in contact with the captain?" Wrecker called.
Bail nodded, "Semi-regularly. While he has done a lot to help undermine the Empire, he refused my offer to join the Rebellion,"
"Considering the attitude of that Agent towards us, That's unsurprising," Echo stated before Hunter asked, "Is that sort of attitude towards Clones typical of the Rebellion?"
"Sadly, yes. Anti-Clone sentiments are running hot, I'm afraid. Mon Mothma and I are trying to help reduce it, but little headway has been made," Bail sighed, seemingly a bit saddened about that.
"That's a shame. We're not willing to do anything for an organisation that hates us for existing," Hunter stated.
Bail nodded, "That's not surprising. I'm working with Mon Mothma to try and deracialise, but until Kuan Si and Rex can get more Clones to leave the Empire, that's not going to be easy,"
"Who's Mon Mothma?" Echo enquired, and at this, Bail smiled.
"She's a wonderful woman from Chandrilla, the unofficial leader of the Rebellion alongside yours truly. I'm sure she'd be accepting of you guys, even if most of the Rebellion aren't. She's also a friend of Rex's, which should help," He said.
The Batch nodded, and Hunter stated, "I hope you're right". It was then that Bail thought of something.
"Hey, are you guys familiar with the Clone, CT-9904 Crosshair?" He asked.
Hunter admitted, "Extremely. He was a member of our squad until the Empire brainwashed him. He stayed with them for a while before the Empire broke his trust. He's struck out on his own and won't return to us until he's won our trust back,"
"That's rough. I'm sorry to hear that," Bail replied.
Bail then continued with, "Do you guys trust him?"
Hunter replied, "Omega and I do. Crosshair has proven himself trustworthy to us. He's also earned Wrecker's trust and is on the way to gaining Echo's,"
Omega nodded and replied, "We saved each other,"
"Abandoning the Empire, and working with Hunter and Omega, has gone some way to convincing me that he can be trusted," Tech stated, and both Echo and Wrecker nodded.
"Good to hear," Bail replied. He then continued with, "Where do you guys operate from?"
"Cid's Parlour on Ord Mantell. Why?" Hunter answered.
Bail Organa nodded, then replied, "Cid's Parlour on Ord Mantell, got it. I think I'll ask if Mon Mothma can pay a visit. I think she's someone you would like,"
Tech looked through his datapad, "Looking up Mon Mothma, she sounds like a lovely woman. I think it would be nice to meet her. Do you agree?"
"I hope so. It would be nice to know that there are a few Rebellion members who don't hate us," Hunter replied, his voice still slightly bitter. Bail nodded, then said, "That's good to hear. I'd better go and get your payment, then you can head back to base," he headed back inside.
"Alderaan, from here, looks beautiful," Omega said, looking around at the scenery. The rest of the Batch also looked around, and Wrecker replied, "It looks gorgeous,"
"Alderaan is a pristine planet, so it makes sense that the scenery is good," Tech stated.
The rest of the Batch nodded. Bail Organa then returned with the credits and gave them to Hunter.
"Again, sorry about the behaviour of our agent. I hope your meeting with Mon Mothma goes well," Bail sighed.
Hunter nodded and replied, "We hope so. Apology accepted. Good luck with the deradicalization", before they turned around, got back into their ship, and flew back towards Ord Mantell.
Once the Batch returned to Ord Mantell, Cid was waiting for them.
"So, how did it go?" Cid stated.
Hunter replied, "You were right. The Agent, and much of the Rebellion, hate Clones,"
"Yeah, I'm not surprised. I don't accept many mission requests from the Rebellion because I'm aware of their attitude to Clones," Cid sneered as she took the credits and distributed the share to the Batch.
"How bad was the Agent?" Cid asked.
Hunter replied, "He dehumanised Clones, and he seemed to target Clones specifically when gunning down Imperials,"
"Sounds about right. I've had to argue with one of my co-brokers several times about missions offered by the Rebellion," Cid stated.
Echo asked, "A co-broker?"
"Oh, his name is Shamto. He's a Trandoshan, like me. He's got a few mercenaries working for him. Since I've only got you guys, I don't like taking Rebellion missions," Cid stated, evidently not happy about the arguments with Shamto over this.
"Hey, Cid. I've got another question," Hunter asked.
Cid stated, "What is it Bandana?"
"This Shamto guy. Is Crosshair working for him?" Hunter asked .
Cid replied, "Yes, your wayward brother's working for him. I asked Shamto about any Clones that work for him, and he mentioned your wayward brother,"
"Good to know where he is," Hunter replied. Cid enquired, "Let me guess, you might want to work for the guy? So, you can work with your wayward brother?"
When Hunter nodded, Cid replied, "Alright. I'll see what I can do. We don't have the best relationship, though, so, no guarantees,"
As they departed, Omega asked, "Hey Hunter, can I please go to the training barracks? I need to vent my feelings, and I think doing parts of that obstacle course would help with that". Hunter looked at her for a moment, then stated, "Later. You can stay with one of us for a while and rest up. You may not feel it, but I can tell you're exhausted,"
"Fine," Omega snapped back. Hunter was shocked at her outburst, looked to Tech, who gave him the "She's a teenager. This is to be expected" look.
"Omega, please, a little less snappy," Hunter gently reprimanded.
Omega sighed, "Sorry, Hunter, just, I'm not feeling too good again. I'm tired, sore, angry, sad, and I'm struggling to deal with it," it was then that both Tech and Hunter noticed that she was limping slightly.
"Where do you need the ice pack?" Hunter asked.
Omega huffed, "Left ankle again," Tech nodded, then replied, "We'll get that sorted for you, alright?"
Alright, thanks," Omega replied. Wrecker picked Omega up and held her closely, and she felt much less stressed being held by Wrecker as she returned the hug.
Omega's frustrations were, however, justified in some ways. Omega seemed to have lost the ability to tell when she was tired, mostly because she was always tired. Tech knew she wasn't getting enough sleep despite going to bed early and getting up late. The nightmares and night terrors that regularly tormented her meant it was always a battle to get her back to sleep, a battle mainly fought by Hunter and Echo.
Not helping was her introduction to caff. Although it was only through Iced Teas in the morning, her body still hadn't fully adjusted. That had been quite the argument between Hunter, Tech and Echo about introducing Omega to caff, something Omega overheard at least part of. Tech had lost but had the concession that they'd start her on something with small doses of caffeine to see how she copes, but they're still holding off on proper caff until she's at least 16.
"Thanks, Tech," Omega replied, smiling at him, which he returned.
"Alright," Omega sighed. He looked to Echo, who gave a thumbs up. Soon they reached the ship, and Omega decided to stay with Wrecker to rest up. All Batch members were asleep, even Tech, surprisingly.
A couple of hours later, the Batch rose, refreshed. Though they could see Omega was still tense. Then again, they all were, so they decided to do as Omega had suggested and head for the barracks.
That was the most fun three hours that any of them had. Omega spent much of her time shooting the targets with her bow, with ferocity and determination that frightened the Batch. For Omega, she shot every single one, imagining the targets were the faces of a Kaminoan, the Rebel agent, or Admiral Rampart.
The entire squad ran the obstacle course, while Omega eventually switched to the climbing frame, which was her favourite after the firing range.
After a few hours, the Batch finished, and they were returning to their ship, feeling a lot better, especially Omega, who had used this to vent her feelings. Which was something that she found helpful.
"You've gotten good with that bow, Omega," Hunter said.
Omega smiled
and replied, "Thanks. You guys all were amazing on the course,"
"We're used to running these courses, so that isn't a surprise," Wrecker replied.
After dinner, Omega played Dejarik before everyone went to their beds and quickly fell asleep, exhausted from their adventures.
A couple of days later, the Batch is suddenly called into Cid's Parlour.
"Wonder if Mon Mothma arrived," Hunter said to the others.
Echo stated, "Well, we'd better find out," as they departed for the parlour.
The environment of Cid's parlour had dramatically changed. The holotables were all off, and all of Cid's regular customers were out. This meant it was quiet, and the smells and tastes Hunter detected weren't present. They saw why when they got further in. They saw a slightly older woman with light skin, brown hair, and pale blue-green eyes wearing a full-body-length off-white dress. However, she had dispensed with most of the jewellery she would wear.
"Are you Mon Mothma?" Hunter asked as he approached.
She replied, "Yes. I assume you're Hunter?" and Mon Mothma offered her hand.
Carefully shaking it, he replied, "Yeah, I'm Hunter,"
"Nice to meet you," Mon Mothma replied. She then turned to the others and asked, "Want to introduce me to your family?" Hunter nodded, slightly thrown out by Mon calling them a family.
He started by pointing to Wrecker and stated, "This is Wrecker,"
"Charmed to meet you," Wrecker called, waving to Mon, who politely returned it. Hunter then turned to Tech, who was staring at his datapad again, and said, "This is Tech,"
"Hello, Mon Mothma," Tech stated, looking up from his datapad long enough to wave to her, which she returned.
"Echo," Hunter said as he pointed to Echo, who gently shook her hand with his biological hand, saying, "Nice to meet you,"
"Nice to meet you too," Mon Mothma replied, smiling gently at him.
Omega then approached Mon curiously, and Hunter said,"And this is Omega,"
"Hello," Omega replied, waving slightly nervously at her. Mon Mothma smiled, "Nice to meet you, Omega. I must say it's nice to finally meet you,"
"It is?" Omega asked.
Mon Mothma replied, "Yes. You hear the rumours, a group of Clone Commandos with a female Clone tagging along. It's nice to finally meet the legendary Clone Force 99,"
"Well, our reputation precedes us. I assume you heard about what happened?" Hunter enquired.
Mon Mothma nodded and replied, "I heard about it from Senator Organa. I want to extend my heartfelt apologies for the rudeness of the Agent. I've disciplined him for his behaviour, and I understand your reluctance to accept missions from the Rebellion,"
"Apology accepted," Hunter replied.
Mon Mothma nodded solemnly. She then stated, "I admire the successes that Rex and the Clone rebel cell are having in undermining the Empire, but it's a shame that many of my allies don't see it the same way due to their prejudices,"
"Rex would like to hear that," Tech stated.
"So, I've heard about an inhibitor chip installed in every clone by the Kaminoans. Is this true?" Mon Mothma enquired.
Tech stated, "Affirmative," but it was Omega who added, "Nala Se made those chips and inserted them into the clones. I saw her do it. She told me they were made to prevent aggression; they were there to help the Clones. And yet, it turned them into soulless killing machines," Omega got more emotional as she spoke, and as soon as she finished speaking, she burst into silent tears, necessitating Echo to sweep her into a close hug. Mon Mothma looked to the grief-stricken Omega and the rest of the Batch, "I'm so sorry to hear that. So, the Clones are enslaved by the Empire?" Mon Mothma enquired.
Hunter replied, "Yes. We worked with Rex to rescue Kuan Si, a Kaminoan banished for not being a Demagolka. Kuan Si and Rex have started work on disabling the Inhibitor Chips, so Clones can be freed from the slavery of the Empire. Especially since the Clones are already being removed from frontline roles", which shocked Mon Mothma, her face showing shock.
"That's horrible. No. That's barbaric. Demagolka indeed. I hope that learning about this will mean more people develop Empathy for them," Mon Mothma said, a note of shock and horror in her voice.
She then continued, "How do you tell the difference between Clone Troopers and Storm Troopers?"
"Effectiveness is one way since some of the Clones have been sabotaging the training of the Storm Troopers. Otherwise, only we're able to tell them apart. That's something you'd have to ask Rex about," Hunter replied.
Mon Mothma nodded. She then turned to Omega and asked, "Omega. What's her deal?"
"She was a lab experiment for almost her entire life. She watched us grow, well, everyone except Echo, but after we were sent off, she designated a medical assistant to Nala Se. But that was just a cover for Nala Se to emotionally and physically abuse her for years. Omega still has the scars on her upper arm from those tests, despite regularly wiping her arms down with bacta wipes. Some of the scars have faded a bit, but others have stubbornly stayed," Echo explained, and Omega nodded, having calmed down. Mon Mothma looked sadly at Omega and replied, "I never would have condoned what happened to you or allowed it to continue if I knew what was happening to you. That is horrible, what you had to endure,"
Omega replied, "Thanks Mon Mothma".
"Did the Kaminoans experiment on you too?" Mon Mothma asked.
Hunter replied, "Yes, but not to the level that Omega was,"
Mon Mothma broke down hearing this. To learn this was too much. Hunter cautiously approached, as did Omega, and they held her. Hunter put a hand on her back while Omega held Mon Montha's hand.
"Are you alright, Mon Motha?" Hunter asked.
Mon Mothma choked, "I'll be OK. This is just so horrible. What you've all been put through. I tried to pursue a path of peace and tried to bring the Clone Wars to a peaceful end, and I'm working to make sure Clones get proper compensation for everything you've been put through and support for the trauma that's been inflicted on you,"
"Thanks, Mon. It's good to know that someone in the Rebellion cares about the Clones," Hunter replied.
"I must say that you've done a good job with Omega. You're certainly the Dad Batch," Mon Motha replied.
Hunter smiled, "Thanks,"
"Well, I now have a moral imperative to help rescue as many Clones as possible from those Inhibitor Chips," Mon Mothma replied.
Omega responded, "Please do, they're our brothers, and it's not their fault,"
"I am so sorry about what happened to you before, during and after the war. I'm sorry that my allies are so hostile to you for existing. My apology will never be enough to erase your suffering or that of your brothers and sister. But know this. I support you. I support all clones. You're all humans, thinking and feeling. You're all worthy of respect and acceptance. What the Empire did, using these chips to enslave you, was barbaric. I hope more people have their eyes opened to the massive potential for good that Clones offer. All they need is a chance," Mon Mothma said.
Hunter replied, "Thanks Mon Mothma, that means a lot to us," and the Batch agreed.
Mon Mothma nodded to the Batch and said, "Well, I'd better get going, but it was nice to meet you all. I hope you'll continue to help the Rebellion, even if you don't join."
"It was nice to meet you too, Mon Mothma. Glad there are members of the Rebellion who are nice to Clones," Hunter replied.
Mon Mothma smiled, waved, and departed.
"So, what do you think of her?" Cid asked.
Hunter replied, "I'd say she, and Bail, are two of the good members of the Rebellion,"
"Are you still going to not take missions for the Rebellion?" Cid asked.
Hunter replied, "Well, we're not willing to accept missions from a group that, by and large, hates us for existing. We'd be OK with helping out Rex when he needs it,"
"It sounds like a plan. I hope you boys know what you're getting yourselves, and Tiny, into," Cid replied.
"We know," Echo stated.
"Oh, I have one final question," Cid stated.
Hunter enquired, "What is it?"
"Are you going to try and get your wayward brother back?" Cid asked.
Hunter replied, "We're going to work with him, so he has opportunities to reforge, and strengthen, the bonds of trust between him and us,"
"Sounds like a plan, Bandana. Good luck with it. I'll check with my compatriots and see if there's anything," Cid replied.
Hunter replied, "Thanks, Cid,"
"You're welcome, Bandana," Cid replied, and the Batch returned to the ship.
