Bang!

"You're Winner!"

Abel threw down his controller. Austin smiled as the boy screeched in frustration. They were in an arcade, and a large trophy flashed on the screen. The text on the top of the screen scrolled to the side.

"Aw, man," he shouted. "How do you keep winning all of a sudden?"

"It must be luck," Synaes wrapped an arm around Austin and purred into his ear. Austin blushed.

"Well," Austin stammered and placed the controller back in its sleeve. "I guess that's it."

Abel blinked. "Whaddya mean 'That's it?'"

Austin shrugged and pointed at the screen. "I mean, it says it's over. On the screen."

The text on the top of the screen read: ALL-FOR-ONE DEFEATED. EVERYONE IS HOME. ALL IS WELL. GAME OVER.

"Oh," Abel slumped his shoulders and sighed. "I guess we should just go home then."

"Wait just a second," a British voice shouted. Abel turned and saw Megan with a stack of quarters in her hand. "It says we can play again."

Sure enough, on the screen was a sign that blinked in golden text: PLAY AGAIN?

Abel looked back at Megan and smirked. "You think you can beat me?"

Megan rolled her eyes. "Please. You're easier than anyone in this whole class."

"In a way, you're right."

Smack! Abel groaned as Synaes bapped him with her cane. Abel rubed his head and grabbed the controller.

"You ready to lose?" Megan plunked a quarter into the machine. One that read: YOUR HERO ACADEMIA: AN AMERICAN LIFE.

"I was born ready," Abel said.

"Wait, you were born ready to lose?" Austin asked.

Synaes hushed him and ran a finger over his chest. "Let him be distracted."

Austin smiled despite his face being beet red. He and Synaes sauntered away as a new screen popped up.

READY TO PLAY AGAIN?

Megan faced Abel. Both of them wore knowing smirks. They were ready to do this again. One more time.

She pressed the golden button on the center console.

...

READY?

BEGIN!

YOUR HERO ACADEMIA: END OF THE WORLD. COMING MARCH 2023.

THAT MEANS NOW.

TIME TO PLAY AGAIN.
