Lancex woke up and found himself in a cave. As he woke, the last thing he remembered was Slugbug telling Lancex that Bug could direct Lancex home and back to his younger brother. He hoped the bot was right, as this didn't look like home. Lancex scanned the area around him and found a cloak and signed in utter relief when he saw that his precious katana ryu was right next to him. Carefully, Lancex put on the cloak and headed out of the cave. As he walked out, he felt a powerful energy and used one of his special skills, the flash step, and soon he was out of the cave.
Meanwhile, on the race track, Megatron held the precious cyber planet key and was mocking not only Optimus but all the other Autobots as well. Even so, Optimus and the others are unable to fire their weapons at Megatron as he stood over Hotshot and Override who had suffered heavy damage from racing and one of Megatron's attacks. Optimus wasn't exactly sure what to do, but then he thought he heard a strange voice, the voice seemed to say, so this trophy is the powerful energy, interesting.
Optimus didn't realize that he wasn't the only one who heard the voice, and all were searching from where this strange voice came from. As they search, the come across a strange bot in a cloak who was holding the Planet cup in his hand. It was only then that Megatron realized he no longer held the Cyber Planet key while Optimus felt something about this new bot, like this new bot knew Optimus though Optimus had no idea from when.
Megatron then demanded the return of the prize, but the new bot defiantly irritated the con leader and stated no. Annoyed at the attitude of this new bot, Megatron fired lightening at the defiant bot, who used his cloak to deflect the bolt. Lancex just laughed as this bot was nothing like those he had fought before. The cloak ignited and Lancex threw it to the side, as it was nothing special to him. Lancex then tried a strange technique, he threw the precious trophy at Megatron, with Lancex disappearing once it was thrown and reappearing just before Megatron could grab the object of power. Megatron, in a state of shock, is easily kicked back several feet by this new bot. Sore about the loss, Megatron finally called a retreat and headed off with his proverbial tail between his legs.
Once old Megs was gone, Optimus studied the bot closer, "no, it can't be…" Optimus mutttered, unsure of what he was seeing was real. Hearing the utterance, Lancex turned to the stunned Autobots. Optimus studied the bot closer, and then saw a certain feature that cemented things for the Prime. Unable to help himself, Optimus ran up to this new bot and threw his arms around the new bot, saying "I can't believe you are alive, brother."
Lancex wanted to be embarrassed and stop this but then he remembered how hurt Optimus was when Lancex left eons ago. With that thought, Lancex embraced the embrace and replied, "it has been awhile, Optimus, my younger brother, but I have returned as I promised." The rest of the Autobot were stunned, and each hoping for more of an explanation.
