As the other bots were busy, Optimus led his older brother to the med bay. Lancex was a bit curious as to why but Optimus explained that all bots were checked out when having just arrived. And it was a common thing to make sure one was functioning at top level. Optimus had even had his just after they had arrived on earth. Lancex nodded, as that made sense and he wanted to make sure he really was functioning at full capacity.
Once at the med bay, Red Alert started to perform his full maintenance examination of this new bot. Optimus stood there and watched. Normally, he wouldn't have done so, but he figured this time he would stay, as Lancex wouldn't know any better. Red Alert ran all type of diagnostic tests, checked all seals and such, and performed a few invasive procedures. Optimus stepped out of the room for those so that Lancex had privacy. It took a bit, but soon, Red Alert was able to clear Lancex and state that he was in tip top shape. Optimus was back at that time and was pleased to hear that, as they could always use more warriors to help with this war.
"Okay, May I leave?" Lancex asked, wanting to be anywhere but there.
"Absolutely. You have completed your examination. I will have to ask Optimus to remain behind" Red replied. Lancex nodded and headed out while Optimus waited, a bit confused. Lancex, upon heading out, bumped into Hotshot and Override while Hotshot was showing the femme around the base. Hotshot invited Lancex to come along and Lancex agreed.
Meanwhile, Optimus looked at Red Alert. "Why did you keep me behind?" Optimus wanted to know.
"You always request to know if there is something that may make a bot have difficulty with fighting" Red Explained.
Now Optimus was even more confused. "But you said he was in tip top shape. Did you lie?" Optimus asked.
"I did not lie, Optimus. Physically, he is in Prime condition. The problem comes on other fronts. He emotions are blunted and his is a strong submissive – which means he has little to no emotion and he can become sparked if any bot interfaces with him" Red explained. Optimus sighed. While it explained cold reaction Optimus and received hugging his brother, it also worried Optimus that his older brother could carry.
"Thank you for informing me. I will keep this information in mind as we fight this war" Optimus replied and Red Alert nodded. Now Optimus knew he had to protect his older brother, no matter the cost. And that was just what he intended to do.
