Optimus thanked Red Alert and headed out of the med bay. After a short bit, Optimus returned to his office and sat on his chair. He needed to think just how to protect his older brother and decided that for now, he would keep the private medical knowledge to himself.
Lost in his musing, Optimus' thoughts were interrupted by a call from an Autobot named Leobreaker. Curious, Optimus answered the call and was informed by Leobreaker that Scourge, the Jungle Planet leader, was willing to hand over the planet key on one condition. This condition being that Scourge would pick an Autobot to fight and if that bot could beat Scourge, the dragon bot would give up the key. Optimus acknowledged the comm and then ended it. He needed to get to jungle planet with a team.
After ending the comm, Optimus called Lancex and all the bots in the base. "Jetfire and I must head to Jungle Planet" Optimus told the other bots.
"Permit me to join you" Lancex spoke up. Reluctantly Optimus agreed. He wanted to get to k ow his brother better, but wasn't entirely sure a strange planet would be the place to do it. Still, they needed all the help they could get.
Soon, they reached the planet and met up with a strange Lion bot. "Fear not, you know me. I used to be Overhaul" the lion bot revealed. Optimus nodded and indicated that Leobreaker should lead on. It didn't take long to reach a strange temple on this strange planet.
And once they ascended the steps, they saw Scourge, the dragon bot leader of this planet. Silently, Optimus sighed. "Well, well. Now to choose my opponent" Scourge said.
"Any of us will fight you if it means we will be one step closer to completing our mission" Optimus said.
"Ah, but you weren't told of the other part of the deal. Should your Autobot lose, they will become my mate" Scourge mentioned. This part didn't sit well with any of the Autobots there, well except Lancex, who though such threats were frivolous.
"Fine, we have a deal. Who do you choose?" Optimus asked, hoping he would be chosen, as he was certain he could defeat this arrogant bot.
Scourge scanned over the lot. He automatically skipped Optimus and Jetfire as they were too strong and Leobreaker wasn't worth the dragon bots time. That left one choice. "I choose him" Scourge said, pointing to Lancex. Optimus wanted to groan but he didn't. "I will give you time to prepare. We shall battle in two days" Scourge said, showing he was just arrogant, not mean. Then Scourge walked away.
After heading down the steps again to practice, Optimus was worried. Did Lancex have the skills to fight this bot? "Do you think you can take him, Lancex?" Optimus asked.
"Is that a serious question?" Lancex asked. He had more experience than any of the others realized. Optimus nodded, as there wasn't much left to do except practice and wait.
