I knew Castiel would probably knock me out, or bring me back in here if I stormed back in there.
I could still hear Sam's pained groans, gasps, and occasional whimpers as I sat there, feeling utterly useless while I listened to his pain and discomfort.
It took hours upon hours for Sam to finally calm down, and stop screaming. Though he would still let out a whimper every now and then, I knew he was going to be okay.
By the time Dean woke up, it was sometime after midmorning, and I was in the same spot, with my back pressed against the door, as I stared blankly at a spot on the floor in front of my shoes.
He quickly got out of bed and made his way over to me, concern written all over his face as he saw me, before slowly making his way toward me.
"Lailah? Sweetheart, are you alright?" He asked as he stopped in front of me.
"I— I don't know. He was in so much pain…. I caused that. It's my fault. I'm so sorry, Dean. I didn't mean to hurt him. I swear." I gasped as a sob slipped through my lips.
Dean quickly kneeled in front of me, putting his hands on either side of my face. "No, sweetheart, don't you start thinking that this is your fault. You're helping him. It's his own fault that he's in this mess now, so don't feel bad for hurting him, sweetheart. Sammy is strong, he'll pull through." He told me.
Castiel suddenly appeared next to us, causing us to jump in surprise at his sudden appearance. "Sam seems to be waking up. Do the two of you wish to go and see him?" He asked us.
Dean looked at me for a moment, before turning to look at Castiel. "How's he doing?" He asked, concerned.
"Leilah managed to cleanse his blood from all the demon blood in Sam's blood… meaning what she did was successful. Now, we just have to watch after him closely." He replied.
"Why?" Dean asked, frowning.
"Because it'll be as if he was brought back to life. He'll be confused and probably won't remember anything besides us being in the diner…" I explained.
"So, he is cured? No ifs or buts?" Dean asked, skeptically.
I nodded in response, looking over at Castiel before moving to get up.
"Where are you going?" He asked me.
"To freshen up. Who knows when we'll get a chance to shower again." I threw over my shoulder, as I grabbed a set of clothes for my bag and headed into the bathroom without a second glance back.
Shortly after I exited the bathroom, I found out that Dean had used the other bathroom to shower, as well as Sam. They were speaking quietly to one another about something that had happened last week, and were worried about Lilith's next move as she seemed to be gathering quite the fellowship as we were here.
I gathered all our things and took them back to the car, before taking down all the warding around the room with a wave of my hand. Ignoring the curious looks I was getting from them as I checked to make sure that I had gotten everything.
I felt more annoyed at the fact that my clothes felt slightly tighter than they did the day before, and had to opt for wearing one of Dean's Henley to feel better.
I could feel someone's stare as I made my way back.
"Are you hungry, dollface?" Dean asked as he approached me.
Something within my stomach nudged me as if to agree with his question. I frowned but nodded in response. Trying to ignore my hesitation to eating yet another cheeseburger.
I shouldn't be feeling something like this, especially this early on in the pregnancy. Then again, my pregnancy might not be normal, as Castiel said the other day.
Castiel looked at me as if reading my mind, "There's a good chance that it isn't. We'll keep an eye on you for the next few days. If anything out of the ordinary begins to happen to you and around you, we'll know our answer." He told me.
Dean raised a brow at us in wonder.
"I was just wondering if this would be a normal pregnancy since I can feel a nudge, and my clothes feel a bit tighter than they did yesterday…" I mumbled.
He tilted his head to the side, taking a step back and looking at my backside and front side before nodding, "I don't want to offend you, darlin', but your stomach does seem to be a bit rounder today. That little paunch sure as hell wasn't there yesterday, hon." He said, carefully.
Sam nodded in agreement. His tall, looming form stood by the door, looking around us in concern,
I rolled my eyes at them before shaking my head, "Yes, I realized that when half of my jeans refused to button up. Can we go now? I'm starting to get a headache from the lack of food." I told them.
Castiel nodded before grabbing the bag in my hand and leading us back toward the car.
"Do you think it's a good idea to have her around those bloodsuckers?" Sam asked as we left the hotel's parking lot.
Dean looked at me through the rearview mirror before sighing and looking back to the road. "She's the most powerful one out of all of us. We can't exactly exclude her. Besides, how difficult can it be to take down these bloodsuckers?" He asked.
Castiel looked back at me, 'how powerful are these things?' He asked me telepathically.
'Back when my angel grace was blocked, very. Now? Not so much. Especially with all of us having extra abilities I've acquired.' I thought back.
'You left Sam's extra abilities?!' He asked, eyes wide. 'Is that a good idea?'
I nodded, looking away, and swallowing thickly before turning to look out the window. 'He can already control them, he just won't have the aftereffects.'
He humphed in response before looking over at Dean.
"What are you two doing just now?" He asked us, suspiciously.
We both turned and blinked innocently.
"Strategizing," I replied automatically.
"Huh. I don't believe that for one second, doll face. Now, why don't you tell me the truth?" He asked as he pulled into a small restaurant off the highway, parking in the empty spot available, before killing the engine.
He turned to look at me, expectantly.
"Castiel was asking me a few questions, which I answered truthfully, and he didn't like the answer to one of them," I told him.
"What did he—?" He began to ask me before I sighed and pushed into his mind to show him what we spoke about, causing him to stiffen in his seat.
"I may or may not have allowed Sam to keep his extract abilities, without the after-effects of taking demons' blood, or the headaches that began immediately after using them," I informed them.
They turned to look at me in disbelief, "Hon, don't you think that is… a dangerous idea?" Dean asked me, concerned.
I shook my head, "No, in fact, it's a great idea, all things considered. Also, we're going to face a coven of bloodsuckers, do you really want to have him in a situation where he is vulnerable?" I asked, with a raised brow.
When he didn't say anything but gave me an exasperated sigh, I knew I had won the argument. I smiled at him before getting out of Baby and walking into the restaurant without another word.
