Though Lancex was confused about being pulled away, he followed his brother as Optimus headed to a place that Lancex didn't know was one of the training rooms on the base. Once inside the room, Lancex was a bit indignant about what happened, and so wasn't exactly happy when he asked, "what kind of room is this?"
"This is a training room" Optimus answered. Lancex then thought that Optimus knew Lancex wanted to train, so the irritation was set aside.
"Is this why you pulled me away from Scourge and Snarl?" Lancex asked, hoping to get to the bottom of this.
"Yes, I know warriors like to keep their skills sharp by training" Optimus answered. And while it was partially a lie, it was also partially the truth. Lancex nodded and after that, Optimus left. Lancex assumed he was now alone to practice in peace. And so he began his practice with meditation, seeking to meet with ryu before practicing his skills.
Meanwhile, unknown to Optimus or Lancex, Scourge had followed the pair. Scourge hadn't exactly been pleased that Optimus had yanked Lancex away, but when Scourge noticed that Lancex was in a training room, Scourge figured that Optimus was pulling Lancex away for training. Hidden from sight, Scourge watched as Lancex practiced his deadly skills. It was fascinating for the dragon bot to watch as Scourge had never seen some of the weapons or moves before. Scourge was just glad that Optimus was gone and unaware that Scourge was still near Lancex.
Soon, Lancex had practiced for longer than he thought he could but he felt satisfied and tired. Scourge, who had remained nearby, noticed and raced in. "Can I help you, Lancex?" Scourge asked kindly.
"Sure, can you help me back to my room,I'm exhausted" Lancex asked, not thinking anything of it. Scourge nodded and helped Lancex. Lancex crashed hard onto Scourge as Scourge headed out.
As Scourge carried Lancex to the bot's quarters, they ran into Optimus, who didn't look too pleased. "And what is going on here?" Optimus asked.
"He was exhausted from his training and asked me to return him to his quarters" Scourge answered honestly. With a scan, Optimus could tell Scourge was telling the truth. It was the only reason Optimus allowed Scourge to continue. Scourge was grateful that Optimus didn't steal Lancex this time, as Lancex was out cold. Scourge reached Lancex's quarters and dropped the bot off. But now, Scourge's mind was elsewhere – he now knew Lancex was strong and powerful, but was the bot capable of more? Scourge hoped so, for all his dreams were riding on this.
